In this timeline, the Axis Powers of Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan and the Kingdom of Italy achieve victory in World War II. The planet is ruled with an iron fist and all political opposition is wiped out. This timeline explores everything from the ongoing war itself and life in an Axis world for a normal family.
How Axis Victory was Alternatively Achieved[]
Operation Sealion
The road to victory begins with the Third Reich and Britain. Hitler decides keeping Russia on his side for the time being would be a good thing. He still has Operation Barbarossa in mind but keeps it for when he has secured the Western Front and annihilated the only power blocking his way to domination - Great Britain.
In this timeline the Battle of Britain results in victory for the Luftwaffe and Operation Sealion is put into action. Bombing of major factories, sea ports, RAF bases and cities such as London, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasglow, Belfast, Dublin and York. With the nation weakened, the invasion from Normandy is launched. Due to London being far South East, it is extremely close to landing sites and Wehrmacht ground troops are marching into the capital after securing bases and ports within a week in September 1940. London surrenders along with the rest of Britain. The Republic of Ireland accepts defeat too. The British Isles become occupied and remaining British people whom may hold key information are questioned and tortured before executed. Churchill shoots himself and the royal family are evacuated to Canada. Britain is secured. Victory in the war is quickly becoming more and more obvious. Hitler believes the krieg will be over like blitz.
Operation Boot
For this timeline Operation Boot is the codename name given to the fictional German invasion of Italy due to the country looking like the shape of a leg and boot.
Hitler sees Italy as a strategically strong location to launch future invasions from as well as a way to obtain supplies. Hitler also sees Italy as weak compared to Germany and Japan. So Germany invades Switzerland and easily claims it before marching south to the border in Fascist Italy in February 1941.
The Wehrmacht reach Rome on 15 March. Benito Mussolini shoots himself too like Churchill. The Germans secure the rest of the country before setting up an invasion fleet in Sicily and the mainland coast.
Nazi Germany sails and flies across the Mediterranean Sea towards North Africa and claims all Italian zones in the region. Germany claims all remaining countries in the Adriatic region. The Allied forces in Africa and Europe surrender. Italy officially surrenders on 29 March 1941. Hirohito questions Hitler with his betrayal of an ally, but he assures the Japanese emperor that they are still friends and sign a none aggression pact. Germany rules Europe, Africa and later the American Atlantic coast, and Japan governs Asia and Oceania. Germany promises to assist Japan in conquering Asia by invading the Soviet Union from the west. The swastika and the sun will rule the world.
Operation Adomon
The Third Reich already has all of North Africa (its borders stretch across roughly the same general area of the modern southern borders of Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia) and in the pact claimed the Germans would occupy all of the continent of Africa as Labensraum for the civilians of the Reich.
On the 1 July 1941 Nazi Germany launches the Blitzkrieg invasion of the remaining unoccupied regions of Africa. Due to the sheer size of the free countries and fierce defense, the operation lasts 13 months, the last nations surrendering on 19 August 1942. Meanwhile the USSR, still allied with Germany, invaded Turkey in September 1941, succeeding in conquering the country after months of building up the army and economy.
Operation Barbarossa
Germany betrays its second ally - the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The Wehrmacht conquers Soviet cities and its people one by one. The Germans claim Leningrad and Stalingrad, using the cities as launch points to Moscow. The German Soldiers from Leningrad and Stalingrad make their way deep into Russia and meet up not far east of Moscow. The capital is surrounded by troops marching from the north, south, east and west. Soviet leader Joseph Stalin is killed in an air raid over Moscow when the Kremlin is bombed to ash. The Reich marches into the capital and the Soviet Union surrenders - along with Communism itself.
Imperial Japan In Asia
The USSR is gone. A large amount of land is free to invade, though not free of Russian soldiers still fighting. Japanese military might wipes them out with ease. Each country is taken. Each soldier is shot. Each person mourns. It is the end for them.
In this timeline, Hitler and Hirohito are smart. Hitler doesn't invade Russia ill prepared. Japan doesn't bomb Pearl Harbor. The island nation knows America is a dangerously powerful enemy, and attacking a major port would anger it. Japan decides to claim all land it wants first.
With German help from the west, Japan conquers all of the continent of Asia. Only Oceania is left. It's up to the strongest of the few remaining countries to defend freedom - Australia.
