The Australian Labor Party (also ALP and Labor) is an Australian political party. The Party has been in government since March 2014. Bill Shorten has been the party's federal parliamentary leader since June 3, 2011.

The Labor Party describes itself as a "modern social democratic party" and as a "liberal progressive" party.
