The Armenian Offensive, also known as the Invasion of Armenia or the Battle of Armenia, is a ground offensive initially launched by Azerbaijani and Turkish forces in late July 2014 as part of World War III. The invasion came after fighting intensified in the disputed Azerbaijani region of Nagarno-Karabakh, which at the time was occupied by Armenia. Airstrikes by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Georgia helped the Azerbaijani-Turkish offensive and by mid-August all of Nagarno-Karabakh was under control of coalition forces. Coalition forces attempted to push further into Armenia, however their offensive was slowed by increased Russian deployments in support of Armenian personnel.
