The two Arab sieges on Constantinople both failed because they were too slow. The Arab siege was slow, giving the Byzantines time. Here, the Arabs attack Constantinople rapidly, resulting in an Arab Byzantium. Although the Arabs were forced out by Christians, Byzantines were not the ones to retake it. An "Athenian Empire" did so instead. Rather, the Byzantines settled in Rome. This is seen as the revival of the Roman Empire.
