In 1228 around 50 years earlier than OTL, the king of Scotland offered an alliance with the king of France, he accepted and what became known to the scots as the Auld Alliance, was born. Unlike OTL the alliance was more than a mutual hatred for the English. With a strong cultural, political and economic relationship with Galiec becoming almost a romance language by the 1500s and a common currency being formed by the year 1350. In 1269, two years after king Edward I began the invasion of Wales, several rebels appealed to the Scottish/French military to aid their cause in driving out the English, they agreed and Wales had been reclaimed within the year. After the rebellion, Wales was united and the new king, grateful to the French and the Scots decided to join the alliance, the two nations welcomed Wales with open arms.
