This page is for requests to join the TSPTF.

Rules

  • Nominations can be made by any registered user with at least 3 months on the Wiki and 500 edits.
  • Self-nominations are not allowed.
  • The nominee cannot have had another nomination, successful or not, in the last six months.
  • Nominations that don’t follow the rules and process will be removed.
  • Each type of nomination (see individual section) must meet its individual requirements in addition to all requirements listed here.

Process

  • Nominations must include the following:
    • Link to the nominee's user page ( [[User:X|]] ).
    • Nominator's signature and timestamp (~~~~ or a custom sig plus ~~~~~)
  • At least one current TSPTF member must publicly second the nomination.
  • Nominations must be publicly announced on the wiki and Discord. The discord channel #tsptf-nominations may be used for discussing the nomination.
  • The nominee must accept their nomination by leaving a message on this page.
  • Each nomination will remain on this page for two weeks from the time of the announcement for discussion by the community.
  • A non-binding vote of "support" and "against" will occur where any member with at least 3 months on the wiki and 500 edits may vote. The TSPTF will take into consideration the results of this vote when making the final decision to promote at the end of the 2 weeks.
    • Any nomination with an overall 2/3 supermajority against will be defeated.
    • A nomination made by a non-TSPTF member needs a 2/3 supermajority from the TSPTF in favor.
    • A nomination made by a TSPTF member is understood to have the backing of the rest of the TSPTF unless explicitly stated otherwise by individual TSPTF members. In the latter case, the nomination needs 2/3 TSPTF support to pass.

Impeachment

It is possible that a member of the TSTPF may neglect their duties or abuse their power. If this happens they may have their user rights removed. The procedure for impeaching a TSPTF member parallels the nomination process.

Rules

  1. A user who feels a TSPTF member should be impeached must first try to resolve the issue privately, either with the offending member or with the help of one or two other members.
  2. The next step is to raise the issue on the TSPTF reports page or to the TSPTF directly on discord. Make the complaint and attempt to work out the issue.
  3. If the problem cannot be solved through discussion, the TSPTF member may be brought here for impeachment, with support of at least one TSTPF member.
  4. TSPTF members will announce the nomination on Discord and on the Wiki in a timely fashion.
  5. The impeachment will remain on this page for two weeks from the time of the announcement for discussion by the wiki community.
  6. After the two weeks, the TSPTF will decide whether to make the requested demotion based on the posted discussions, requiring clear and overwhelming consensus in favor.

Reasons

There are only a few recognized reasons why a TSPTF member should have their user rights removed:

  • They are not actively participating as a member of the TSPTF.
  • They are determined to no longer meet the qualifications for membership.
  • They have not been fair, restrained or constructive in their dealings with other editors.
  • They consistently refuse to follow the rules, conventions and guidelines of this community.

Retirement

When a member retires, they are listed as “Emeritus” on the TSPTF page. This can happen by choice or after six months of inactivity. An emeritus TSPTF member still has the right to participate in discussions with the same weight as an active member but does not have other powers or responsibilities on the wiki. An Emeritus returns to their previous office automatically if they decide to be active again. A TSPTF member may also request to be fully demoted and lose all status or privileges of an emeritus, which is granted on a case-by-case basis.

Past nominations

All past nominations and impeachments, successful or not, can be seen in the Archive.
