Nominations

  1. C II R - C II R (also known as TEAKAY) is the creator of the earlier featured Ætas ab Brian timelines (or universe, seen its size) and also an avid mapper. --XterrorX 13:48, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Oerwinde - When it looked like the Map Games were going to kicked off the wiki, Oer was the only gamer to step up and do the work necessary to keep the games here. He has also made numerous articles and flags over the year. Mitro 14:40, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  3. NuclearVacuum - He's been very prolific writer this year. Not only has he contributed to several timelines, he's also created the Great White South, New Union, Russian America, and Venusian Haven timelines, which all rank among the year's best and most interesting, and he has contributed several articles to each, even if he's made them into open timelines, which also should go into his favor. Discussions

I vote for Owen to win, if you're gonna get banned then making sock puppets and sending offensive messages is the way to do it!--Smoggy80 19:18, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
It would be a difficult choice, but I'd vote Calthrina. Still, both were intriguing characters; online and I bet IRL as well. --XterrorX 13:48, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

    • Owen - he just wouldn't give up interfearing, even through we'd banned him--Smoggy80 11:41, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
    • I guess Catherine's ban was epic, but Owen had several different bans, and after his 1000-year one, he had to be banned a few more times! Fedelede 15:09, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

    • Calthrina950/Catherine... may she never darken this Wikia again >_<... Tbguy1992 06:57, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
    • Seeing as I was the one who dealt with her, and knew firsthand from the emails she sent after each of her bans telling me to burn in fiery hell then immediately sending another apologizing and asking for forgiveness... I'm going with her.Oerwinde 10:39, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
    • I never really interacted with either of them, but I saw Catherine give a lot of abuse on talk pages, especially towards people who don't speak English as a first language. Mister Sheen 16:34, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Discussions

I removed X's nomination because as the rules state this award is for timelines created in 2010. I'm moving the nomination to the lifetime section. Mitro 13:58, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Apologies, I thought it also included timelines still active in 2010. --XterrorX 14:15, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
I would like to vote Great White South. It is creative and allows alot more freedom in the TL because it is on a place that in OTL has never been inhabited by a civilization. --Chicagoan 17:25, December 18, 2010 (UTC)
Chi, go to the top of the page and read the bolded words that are all in caps. Mitro 04:03, December 20, 2010 (UTC)

Content Awards

Best Photoshopped Picture

This award is for the best photoshopped picture of 2010. The creator cannot nominate their own work.

Nominations

  • 83DD-CargoZeppelin by Oerwinde. If I didn't know where it came from I would never have known he merely edited it, lol. It's just that flush with the original image. Lordganon 02:59, December 12, 2010 (UTC)

Discussions

So, what are we qualifying for this one? I've been hunting around and can't really find anything that I think fits this. Lordganon 08:04, December 11, 2010 (UTC)

My guess would be something edited. SouthWriter's portrait of the leader of Aroostook, or my picture of the Greek senate building are examples.Oerwinde 08:15, December 11, 2010 (UTC)

Winner!

Congratulations to Oerwinde for your edited image that has been unanimously awarded the prize for Best Photoshopped Picture. Please use your editing skills for good by not creating fake currency and instead, proudly flaunt your award in any way you would like.

Best Flag

This award is for the best fictional flag of 2010. The creator cannot nominate their own work. For reference see Category:Flags.

Nominations

  1. File:83DD - AstoriaFlag2.png by Oerwinde. To me, it just seems to have everything in a flag that there should be. --Lordganon 12:15, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
  2. File:Seal of Bellinsgauzenia.svg by NuclearVacuum. It's a Coat of Arms rather than a flag, but I figured it belonged in this category. In any case it looks utterly authentic and it's beautifully detailed. - Mister Sheen 18:18, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

I removed Mumby's nomination, sorry but it was created in 2009 so it needs to go under the lifetime awards. Mitro 14:25, December 11, 2010 (UTC)

  2. File:Atlas of the Great White South.png by NuclearVacuum. A very detailed map of a habitable Antarctica. --Mitro 23:52, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Lifetime Achievement Award: Writer

This award is for the best male or female writer across the entire lifetime of the alternative history wiki. Once individual wins this award, they cannot win this award ever again. As usual no editor can nominate him/herself.

Nominations

  1. Louisiannan - For the three featured timelines he created or contributed to, for all his other works on this wiki, for being the acting caretaker of the wiki for years and for founding the TSPTF. Mitro 18:30, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Mitro - Need I explain? Mitro is the wiki's eternal guardian, he's probably responsible for more caretaking, cleanup and administration than everyone else combined. He's active in collaborative timelines across the wiki; and he's also made several top-class TLs of his own. - Mister Sheen 19:07, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  3. Xi'Reney - he may not have made that many articles, and he may not be the original creator, but simply put, without him, there'd be no 1983: Doomsday. Lordganon 08:22, December 10, 2010 (UTC)

    • Really, all three nominees are deserving of the award. I'm going with Mitro this time because the category is for writing, and Mitro has done more than his share of writing quality articles in the 1983:DD and other TLs. He certainly is deserving of a Lifetime Achievement Award on account of the other work he has done on the Wiki, as well. BrianD 03:48, January 17, 2011 (UTC)
    • JorgeGG 17:44, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
  • Xi'Reney

Winner!

Congratulations to Mitro. Not only is he incredibly smart and handsome, he is also winner the lifetime achievement award for best writer. When he is not rescuing puppies and feeding the starving children of Africa, he spends what little free time he has contributing to the wiki. Thank God/Allah/Budda/whatever that we have such an amazing person to help us! (Note: this was written by a fan of Mitro and not Mitro himself, because that would be lame if Mitro actually wrote this)

Lifetime Achievement Award: Timeline

This award is for the best timeline across the entire lifetime of the wiki. Once a timeline wins this award, it cannot win this award ever again. Nevertheless, this award can be held in conjunction with any other award. As usual a creator or principal contributor(s) cannot nominate it.

Nominations

  1. 1983: Doomsday - What do I need to say to convince anyone that this TL deserves this award. It is one of the largest and most active TLs on this wiki. It's fame is known across the AH online-verse. It was the first featured TL. Every active member of the TSPTF have contributed at least one article to this TL. Do I need to say more? --Mitro 23:26, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Ethelred the Pious, by Benkarnell. Although still in progress, this timeline offers a great look into a Nordic orientated world. --XterrorX 13:48, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  3. Superpowers - Possibly the most detailed timeline on the wiki. Includes lots of good maps and images with a very detailed timeline as wellVegas adict 17:34, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  4. Napoleon's World by KingSweden. Like the others, this one is very detailed, and rarely goes past a couple days without a new article. Some of the work King has done on this is just insane with details. Lordganon 07:04, December 11, 2010 (UTC)

This award is for the best article on the entire wiki. Once an article wins this award, it cannot win this award ever again. As usual the creator cannot nominate it.

Nominations

  1. Alternate Destinies (Napoleon's World), mostly by KingSweden and Yankovic270 - One of the few articles on this wiki which could truly be called a 'tour de force'. It examines dozens of influential, interconnected lives over a period of two centuries; and presents several ironic and unexpected twists to the lives of famous (or fictional) people. Possibly the most detailed, original and all-encompassing article on the whole wiki. - Mister Sheen 19:20, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Roman Empire (Superpowers), by Red VS Blue - Simply put, this article is a work. Not only is it massive in its own right, it is so though out that its sections have even been summarized in several instances and given their own articles. Lordganon 22:56, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
