War

Algorithm

Location

Location goes by the capital city. The closer the capital city is to the brunt of the fighting the greater amount of resources will be on the front-line and the harder your people will fight to defend it.

Special rules override the standard rules:

  • Bad lands - 5
    Here be dragons...
  • City state - 6
    This is a nation that is 150px or smaller
  • Confederation - ?
    You take all the positions of the states capital cities and then divide it up by the amount of states, whole numbers only

Standard rules:

  • At the war - 5
    If your capital is on the border where the brunt of the fighting will occur
  • Close to war - 3
    If your capital is near the border where the brunt of the fighting will occur
  • Far from war - 1
    If your capital is not near the border where the brunt of the fighting will occur
  • Not even far - 0
    If your capital is not even remotely close to or is not connected by land territory to the border where the brunt of the fighting will occur

Tactical Advantages

Tactical advantages are to do with size, terrain or initiative. The larger a nation the greater amount of resources and manpower it normally has to use in a conflict. Initiative concerns whether a nation has planned and prepared for the conflict and how the element of surprise affects its forces.

The following are to do with size:

Special rules override the standard rules:

  • Bad lands - 2
    Here be dragons...
  • City state - 1
    This is a nation that is 150px or smaller

Standard rules:

  • Massively larger - 3
    Awarded to the nation of greater size or the coalition of greater size when the difference is large, 200% and over of the smaller side's size
  • Much larger - 2
    Awarded to the nation of greater size or the coalition of greater size when the difference is palpable, from 110% to 200% of the smaller side's size
  • Just larger - 1
    Awarded to the nation of greater size or the coalition of greater size when the difference is minimal, within 110% of the smaller side's size

  • Much larger - 2
    Awarded to the nation of greater size or the coalition of greater size when the difference is palpable, from 110% to 200% of the smaller side's size
  • Just larger - 1
    Awarded to the nation of greater size or the coalition of greater size when the difference is minimal, within 110% of the smaller side's size


The following are to do with initiative:

Special rules override the standard rules:

  • Rebels - 2
    People who have risen up against a government they do not like or agree with

Standard rules:

  • Mobilised - 3
    Awarded to the nation or coalition
  • Attacker - 1
    Awarded to the nation or coalition that is on the offensive in the war
  • De-mobilised - -1
    Awarded to the nation or coalition
  • Indiscreet - -2
    Awarded to the nation or coalition that is on the offensive in the war but the nation or a nation in the coalition has committed a negative action against the nation or a nation in the coalition in the 10 years prior to the war
