An Italian-backed coup lead by th Corpocratist Party leader Shefqet Verlaci to power, forcing King Zog to abdicate. Verlaci then officialy requested that the King of Italy assumed the crown. The kingdom was shortly afterward integrated into the Italian Empire's state apparatus, only retaining autonomy in token areas.
