Adelaide Charlotte (19 February 1580 - 28 March 1625) was the youngest child of Edward VI and Isabella of Cleves. She was born on the one year anniversary of her elder sister Philippa's death and was named in honor of said sister's wish to name her own daughter Adelaide. When she was ten, her father died and her brother became king, devaluing her in the marriage market. Her mother would have been content to see Adelaide remain unmarried and remain in England with her. Seeing that her daughter was unhappy, she arranged a marriage with the Calvinist Elector Palatine Frederick IV.
