In 500, the Obem Empire invades central Eden and advances with blinding speed, establishing contact with Zusteny by 504. With the Edenic Kingdom falling apart at the seams, the nations of Andea, New Judea, Tethys, the Christian Republic of Sanctum. With the Edenic Kingdom nearly powerless by 533, the world watched in awe as the greatest nation in history declined into an irrelevant shell of a nation.
In 529, Cimmeria invades southern Eden and captures the whole coastline. In 531, they move on to Panthalassas, capturing the northern coast of the fragmented empire. Furthering their imperial agenda, they invade and occupy Cimbria in 540, setting up a puppet government, totally dependent on Cimmeria. Cimmeria invades Swabia, Arctica, and Laurasia, conquering each and setting up puppet governments by 586, leaving the nation nearly unchallenged in the northern hemisphere. In 591, Cimmeria's final territorial conquest begins with the invasion of the Cyrulean coast. This battle lasts well into the 7th century.
In 570, Muhammed is born in the city of Panthalassas, Obem.
In 619, the battle for Cyrule comes to an end with a Cimmerian victory, and the nation is plunged into a civil war after a puppet government was set up in the east. The civil war ends in 628, and the east Cyruleans are able to keep their independence. In the meantime, Judea and New Judea unify in 623, and Andea deals a final death blow to tribal peoples in the southern hemisphere, expanding into their territories in 632. In 629, Muhammed and his followers establish the al-Quasim Caliphate in Panthalassas, which wins independence from Obem after an influx of new Muslims join Muhammed's army. In 637, the area of the Obem Empire connecting the main empire to Zusteny becomes the nation of Gondawa, which, aided by the Obem Empire, invades Zusteny and enslaves its people in 642. The Zustens are enslaved for a few centuries following this event. In 643, the Protestant religion is formed in Obem and spreads rapidly.
In 645, Grooten begins to invade and conquer parts of its surrounding neighbors where a large concentration of blacks live, due to a sharp rise in racial prejudice and nationalism. When these territories are conquered, whatever peoples that were living there are enslaved, and the blacks are allowed to be free. This sudden global increase in slavery throughout the late half of the first millennium is known as the Age of Chains. The al-Quasim Caliphate invades the Obem Empire, pushing east and west from Panthalassas under the leadership of Caliph Muamiya in 661, in hopes of dividing Pangea in two, as to conquer all of it and rule with an Islamic theocracy, although, by Muhammed's wishes, they would allow the conquered peoples to retain their religion if they paid extra taxes.
By 665, Grooten has captured parts of Obem, the Panthalassan Empire, West Cyrule, and the Silver Republic, brutally enslaving all other races. With the enslaved forced to serve in the armed forces, the Grootish Army grew rapidly as they conquered new territory, causing the expansion to gain momentum. Eventually, in 683, the Grootish Army met the army of the Muamiyan Caliphate in the Siege of Groot. This battle was eerily similar to that which took place during the Cephasian Conquests years before, having the same outcome, length, and global impact. The Muamiyans overtook the Groots and captured the city of Groot. After King Mansa II of Grooten abdicated and was replaced by a Muslim, the slaves of Groot remained in place for as long as Grooten remained a, technically, independent nation. The battle is looked upon as one of the most important in history, since if the Muamiyans had lost, no nearby nation had the resources to plausibly bring the Grootish advance to a hault, meaning that the Groots could realistically have transformed much of the world into a terrible slave society.
Alarmed by Islamic expansion, the Catholics moved Pope Timothy II to Sanctum and out of Cyrule, where the Muslims were quickly making ground in 685. At this time, only 3 nations stood in the way of Islamic expansion: The Panthalassan Empire, Cyrule, and Obem. The Muamiyans dethroned King Simon of Cyrule in 691 and replaced him with Muamiya II, who would in a few years go on to rule as Caliph. While the Caliphate didn't reach to the Cimmerian Sea quite yet, Islam did. Islam grew at an astronomical rate during the Muamiyan advances, and Muslim influence had spread to both coasts. Emperor Constance of Sanctum warned the world in 693 that Islam would one day dominate the world if not contained, but those who were still far away from the reach of Islam ignored him.
701 - 900
In 714, the Muamiyan Caliphate resumes its expansion after affirming its grip on its current territories. It invaded the Panthalassan Empire in a battle that would last until the 1500s. In the meantime, Caliph Muamiya II decides to look to the north. First, he formally added Cyrule and West Cyrule to the Muamiyan Caliphate. Second, he set his sights on the north Obem Empire. He realizes that if he could wrestle it from the hands of the Obes, he would essentially be cutting them off from their supply of wood, paper, certain metals, etc. that came from the more temperate climate. So, in 717, he invades northern Obem, and captures it in 724. This sets him up nicely for his invasion of southern Obem, which begins in 729, and lasts until the 1400s.
The relative peace around the world for the coming years allows for technological advancement, and improvement of governments and economies. By 800, incredible industrial advancements have been made in the Silver Republic, Cimmeria, and Nazca. Factories are created, and the iron industry grows rapidly. The notion of trade with other nations also develops in many well off nations, safe from the continuous war on the continent of Groot. The first prototype firearms are invented in the Silver Republic in 813, along with improvements to naval warfare, and other areas of warfare. Global diplomatic relations begin to loosen and a sense of individualism and isolationism takes precedence over alliances and wars in the far northern and southern regions.
Meanwhile, things continue to deteriorate on Groot. The Muamiyan Caliphate is still at war with the Obem Empire and Panthalassan Empire, and is not making any ground. The Silver Republic is beginning to fall apart however, but its full dissolution is nowhere in the near future, but many nations are anxiously awaiting an opportunity to pick up the broken pieces of the nation. In 887, a distant relative of Leon I of Zusteny begins rallying people in Zusteny who are oppressed to migrate to the very far north, west of the Great Terranean Sea (renamed the Cielian Sea in 902). By 894, nearly 6 million have migrated to self proclaimed "Leon I's" nation of Lyon and and ousted the native tribes, nearly wiping them out. The people of Lyon are finally liberated and fully support Leon I, commonly referred to as New Leon, and the nation's economy booms.
901 - 1000
The Lyons begin communicating with oppressed peoples throughout the world, urging them to form their own nations in the newly named continent Ciel. By 912, many Cimbrians living under Cimmerian oppression had formed the Cimbrian Reich (New Cimbria) along the Bach River. The small nation was welcomed by its Lyonish neighbors, and also actively tried to help Cimbrians migrate there, in addition to urging all nationalities to liberate themselves from the tyranny of their oppressors. The Laurasians found the state of Sinuk along the Sinuk River in 921, and the Cimmerians found the nation of Caucasia in the southern half of Cimmeria after a 4 year revolution, and in eastern Ciel in 933. During this time, nothing else of significance happens except the Sancto-Obem War (962 - 975) after the pope was assassinated by someone living in Obem, resulting in the decisive defeat of Sanctum and of the Catholics as a whole, while Protestant Obem rejoiced in a great victory.
