The 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships was the 72nd edition of the Ice Hockey World Championships hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It took place from 10 February – 26 February 2017 in Cologne, Germany, and Paris, France. Canada were the defending champions.

Canada won their second consecutive and 26th overall title by defeating the Sweden 2–0 in the final. The Soviet Union won against Finland 5–3 for the bronze medal.
