The 2015 Rugby World Cup was the second Rugby World Cup.
On the 8th May 2012, the IRB recommended the Celtic Alliance has host nation beating out Japan, Sicily and New Britain as host nation.
At the same time, Japan was awarded host nation of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. This will be the first time the competition visits a Tier 2 team (after New Zealand, and the Celtic Alliance).
