The 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament was held from March 17, 2011 to April 4, 2011. The pool included 68 qualifying teams in four regional tournaments culminating with the Final Four tournament in Mesa, New Mexico on April 2nd and April 4th. The Washington Huskies (South Regional) defeated the Havana Caribs (Southeast Regional) to win their second-ever national championship for men's basketball. The other two Final Four participants were Pacifica State (West Regional) and Indiana (East Regional).
The tournament was notable for featuring an upset of the defending national champion, the third-seeded Kahokia Thundering Herd, by the 14-seed Massachusetts Minutemen in the opening round by a 27-point margin.
