An Ebola virus strain is imported in a group of monkeys. The virus is non-fatal to the primates, but is an airborne version of Ebola Zaire, which is fatal to humans.
On November 13th, 1989, workers at the Hazelton Research Products office in Reston, Virginia, are infected with the virus and spread it to the United States and then the world.
By December 1st, 1989, some 99% of the world's population has been killed by the virus.
