1995(1242) The circulating stove is invented by Tiberius Quartimin Turpikinus in a Calusan ADA.
2000(1247) Rome celebrates its 2000th birth year, and its nearly 1300 years of world encompassing expansionist civilisation.
2003(1250) aequororis aphractus, cargo boats with square corners and flat hulls are developed in a Bosporus ADA. They made it easier for trade by allowing big square containers of goods to be loaded up very space efficiently.
Again also, the Kipchak Cilaf is destroyed by the Menguren, the Muskovites make some opportunistic land grabs.
2005(1252) the Lightning rod is invented in an Italian ADA. It makes higher rising buildings much less vulnerable to lightning fires.
2008(1255) Chartus Mirius Lupicinus, a Senator (therefore rich) from Gallia Lugdunensis founds the Institutum Imperius Surdastra, the first school special made for the deaf, here he and his students developed Manica Linguis, allowing the deaf to speak a uniform hand signed language. Similar schools and manica linguis programmes are funded throughout the Empire.

2011(1258) The first geothermal electricity plant is built, in Italia. Growing energy demands was encouraging power diversification.
2016(1263) The instabilities of the Menguren Empire brought up huge rebel armies and secessionist movements. The Khan did not believe his empire was in its last years so he let up little on his invasions of Rome and Sinica; parts of Caucus were captured. Once the wise overland trade networks of Tengis fall apart, the regions will enter depressions and dark ages without the vital connections to other Menguren regions.
Also this year, carbide coated machining tools entered large-scale use, the first ones were Silicon carbides (silicos carbonex). They are harder and withstand higher temperatures than steel cutters but are more brittle. Eventually other carbides such as Fragurus carbonex (Tungsten) and Consimicarbo carbonex (Boron)(much later, used in armours) came into use as well.
2020(1267) Jamius Munatius Rullus of a Sup. Britannia ADA designed a multi-spooled loom, greatly cheapening the textiles industry.
Also this year, Drusus Jofnius Valentinian of a Dacian ADA found a process to infuse water with carbon dioxide. Carbonated water becomes popular in drinks.
2022(1269) Tomus Albanius Esdras of an Eprius ADA built a loom using a more efficient water wheel. The increased power to the textile device allowed thread to be tied more tightly and was stronger as a result. It could not however, spool multiple threads at once.
2027(1274) The Corporatus Charta Imperii was formed. It was the first national postage organisation for the public.
Also this year, the Emperor Kaeso Aurelius Palaeologus, fed up with the difficulty of the empire’s measuring units, requests for the entire system to be revamped or replaced with a more logical and comprehensive system.
2028(1275) Flavius Vatin Blandus of a Thule Major ADA developed the first man-powered submarine called the Testudineus. It was first used to place mines on invading Viking ships but it was slow and did not have much of an air supply.
This year, Caesar Kaeso Aurelius Palaeologus was succeeded by Drusus Spurius Opis. He received Digit, the new measuring system was based on the old system’s smallest whole unit of length (though it was actually for the most part based on the pes foot and the digit's new length was now .1pes, digits were also sometimes called centipes). Digit used everything in units of 10, and was most compatible with Indic numerals. It standardized all Roman units from mass(bara), temperature (galerii scale is changed into 100 graduations), distance, pressure, force(bia) (and gravitic weight), to electrical current and difference (the Voris (from discoverer Allesius Rusonius Vorissus)), velocity (tachyti), density, time, area, and volume. The Senate agreed to its limited introduction as everyone still hadn’t even gotten used to Indic numbers yet, but it was expected they eventually would.
Again also, a canna powerful enough to bombard targets tens of leuga distant with high angles and plunging shell attacks was invented by collaborating Dacian and Germanian ADAs. They ware called Machina Catapulta and they make wearing down Menguren attacks much easier now that the destabilizing empire had developed an arms industry of their own. By this time Rome in some way regretted its own policy of putting civility over control in dealing with foreign nations.
2030(1277) An improvement to the mechanical looms now allowed intricate designs to be implemented with the use of cards with punched holes fed into the machine.
Also this year, the circular saw was invented.
Again also, Glauca Heronin Petros, a minor in Thule Minor, became rather tired of always having to use knives and pliers to open abarabi (tins) and cobbled together four blades and a clamp to open the cans with one motion. He called it the efstastigameiriabarabitapur, a largely random string of syllables only he had any idea what it means. Nonetheless it was a good idea, and soon his father's store was selling such handmade devices with the name epur. The epur's largest drawback was that it could only open one size of abarabi, and so the invention would only lazily spread throughout the world until electric ones were developed.
2033(1280) Metal rockets were developed in Nanchao Sinica. They aid greatly in battlefields to disperse hordes of invaders from the dying Menguren Empire.
Also, explosive land mines are developed by the Menguren. They cause great casualties when Romans and Sinicans, believing the Menguren are retreating, run into the mines.
2035(1282) With the Menguren’s still increasing potency in central Asia and eastern Evropa despite its internal haemorrhaging, military developers attempt putting a coal engine on self contained tracks with mounted mechanator pilium and a supply of rockets to be fired by the crew. The sides and tracks of the vehicle are armoured but the majority of the top is open to allow visibility, engine ventilation, and easy escape if the vehicle is in danger of detonation. The new weapon-vehicle is called a Tortuscurr. All works well but for the coal engine which requires a shoveller to feed it. It is very cumbersome. The designers try using petra oleum (rock oil) products as a fuel and the results are much more encouraging. The first petrol combustion engines were made in 2039(1286). These engines proved much more efficient than any other engine made before.
2037(1284) Duovitreusi (bifocals: Servius Macrinius Hardalio, Italia ADA), Sargan lanterna (high circulation oil lamps: Vibius Pomponius Sargan, Raetian independent), and Fragmentum Artillery(Havy Crispus Super, Britannia Inf. ADA) are invented.
2038(1285) The first vapo looms are made by progressive textile factory owners.
2039(1286) Machina Area are invented by Decimus Aurelius Androlius in a Britannia Inf. ADA. They greatly reduce farmer’s requirements of slaves to clear their fields between harvests and planting.
2040's(1287+) Italia ADAs develop the Tricurr, a rotary internal combustion engine. In particular they would eventually be the most popular engine designs for extrudotrusi.
2041(1289) Martus Heinlius Gordio of a Germania Inf. ADA discovers a new element he called Heinium. It appears relatively useless but for its commercial use in tinting glass yellow.
2044(1291) The first porcelain dentures are developed by Spurius Lusius Egnatius of a Germania Inf. ADA.
Also this year, the continental drift theory is proposed by an ADA in Thule Minor. It states that at one time all the continents were connected in what they termed Pangaia (pan-gay-a).
2045(1292) Rome begins securing treaties and protectorate statuses of the Barbaroi tribes mostly by force. The promise of civilization (and all its assets) expanding into their region sway a few. In recent years the tribes had more and more often turned to raids as severe droughts seem to occur more and more often.
2046(1293) The Machina Sindonios is invented in an Indian ADA. It becomes a great asset to textile producing provinces and spreads quickly to important textile producing countries.
Also this year, Heliolexy are invented, using light signals for distant communication. These prove useful on the frontiers with hostile, wire-cutting nations but rarely seen in more settled areas.
Mauretania Tingitana joins the Senate as Tingitana.
2047(1294) In relief not felt since Tengis Khagan’s death 67 years ago, the Menguren Empire becomes permanently fractured into 3 main parts after a massive multi party civil war against Khagan Kubiai.
The part closest to Sinica and Nihonian Asia became the Dai Ön Yeke dynasty of their self proclaimed Sinica. They retained the most advanced parts of the Empire but it was not rich enough to sustain the services and infrastructure so its technological headstart on its other Menguren successors was short lived, especially when the squandered so much against attempts to defeat the Nanchao. With the Menguren well divided, the Nanchao no longer had to worry about them amassing millions of warriors of such fine skill. The Dai Ön Yeke and Nanchao would eventually be referred to in daily uses as South and North Sinica, in that order.
The Djagatai Khanate took up the places once held by the Khwarezmid and Kara Khitai, as well as retaining Kashmir. The Nepal kingdoms however could not be kept, both because the regions were so remote and had rebellious tendencies, and also Rome and the Nanchao did not enjoy an enemy nation having territory pinching Sinican and Roman borders. They funded rebels, signed treaties, and once Nepal was independent again, had resident garrisons to help out the government in case of invasion or pro-Djagatai uprisings(which were few). The Khanate would busy itself with trying to resurrect trade on the Mare Hyrcania and keeping Khwarezmid revolts down.
The western part of the empire was quick to lose its Menguren identity as much of the people were Turks and Slavs, the west became known as the Medius Ordeum. This nation treated the Muscovite Principalities, Volga kingdoms and Novgorod Republic so bad with scheduled bloody punitive raids and battles, especially in 2005(1252) and 2046(1293) (before the Menguren breakup was official) that Roman infrastructure funding in the Baltic regions became total protectorate statuses when the Muscovites and Novgorods (for whom the Baltic States had been vassals and dependent upon for governing and services) abdicated all responsibility over them to deal with the sorry state of their own country. The Baltics became the provinces of Livia Inf. and Sup. Ties between the Novgorod Republic and Muscovite Principalities became closer with defence in attempts to stop the constant Ordeus attacks.
The giant Maori birds of Ductum Albula had officially became extinct from over hunting by both its natural predator, the Aquila Hapagonius and Roman sport hunters. The Aquila Hapagonius was also soon a target of sport hunters. The Aquila Hapagonius would become an endangered species within 50 years.
It was now seven years into Publius Quintilius Gemellus rule. He was born in Byzantium and was 35 at his appointment, the youngest emperor since Julianus, 942 years before.
