Middle East

Concerns

México thinks this treaty should only apply to Britain not non-SDP members.

India agrees with Mexico's concerns and we have voiced this in our analysis of the Saudi Arabia's plan.

Spain agrees with Saudi plans now that point 3 is gone but this should also apply to all those who threaten global security.

Plans

Saudi Arabia: We are beginning to become infuriated with the British regarding decolonization, and their sale of Mesopotamia to Kurdistan. We are also becoming worried with the chance of Egypt becoming Communist, because of its proximity to us. We propose the following plan:

  1. Try to buy Mesopotamia from the Kurds (offer already sent)
  2. Increase military presence of the Federation in Saudi Arabia. I mean a lot of troops.
  3. Invade Egypt. Hope to install some sort of non-Communist government. Also hope to gain some land, especially the Sinai peninsula, so that the Communists cannot shut off the Suez.
  4. Should the Communists win and Britain stays, shut off the Panama Canal (Federation), Strait of Gibraltar (Spain), and Bosphorus (Turkey) to non-SDP Members.

There are definitely better plans, but this is what I could think of.

India: We agree with #1 as this will increase your land and give money to Kurdistan who is friendly with us. We also agree with #2 as it will insure your safety in the Middle East in case war breaks out in the Middle East. India, however, disagrees with the invasion of Egypt, as a Communist revolution is highly unlikely with Nasser in power, and Nasser's Egypt can be a valuable ally, or at least, trade partner in the Middle East, and invading it will ruin relations with Nasser's Egypt. We also disagree with #4, as it is only necessary to block off the British, there is no reason to punish other nations from our trade other than the United Kingdom. This shutting down will also hurt the SDP's economy if we shut down these ports to non-SDP members.

Saudi Arabia misunderstood, and thought Communism was an extreme threat in Egypt. We now know that isn't true, and longer want to invade.

Suheyla Plan

Turkey believes that that the sale of Mesopotamia to Kurdistan is fundamentally legitimate, but Mandatory Iraq should be partitioned between Kurdistan and Saudi Arabia. The Majority Sunni Lands in the south should go to Saudi Arabia, while the majority Sunni areas in the north and other Kurd lands go to Kurdistan. Majority Shia areas, such as Kuwait and the environs surrounding and including Basra, should stay independent as the Republic of Mesopotamia. Turkish deputy PM Suheyl Suheyla has come up with this partition, therefore we think it should hereby be known as the Suheyla Plan.

Saudi Arabia would accept this plan if Kurdistan would, but we don't expect that to happen. Therefore, we intend to buy Mesopotamia, keep the ethnically Arab and religiously Sunni areas, and liberate the Shia areas as the Republic of Mesopotamia. We would prefer, your plan, but ours is an alternative if the Kurds refuse.

Saudi Arabia would like to inform the SDP that we have made the Sunni parts of Mesopotamia a condominium with with Kurdistan, and that Kurdistan intends to liberate the Shia parts.

SuyhelaPlan

Kurdistan will accept no plan that does not result in its receiving access to the Persian Gulf. Any Saudi Arabian intrusion into preexisting agreements between Kurdistan and Britain will be an act of war.

KURDISTAN WAS NOT ALLOWED TO SEE THIS. THIS IS A SECRET MEETING, AND IS MEANT TO BE PRIVATE. AS IT SAYS AT THE TOP. ESSENTIALLY, THIS IS THE EQUIVALENT OF KURDISTAN HAVING SPIES IN THE MEETING ROOM, AND WOULD CAUSE THOSE SPIES TO BE KILLED AND RELATIONS BETWEEN THE SDP AND KURDISTAN TO FALL APART. LUCKILY, YOU'RE ONLY GOING TO GET A WARNING THIS TIME, AND YOU CANNOT BASE ANY OF YOUR ACTIONS ON WHAT YOU SAW HERE.

This is ridiculous and rude behaviour. Don't post a message like this again, Vatonica. All caps is not the way to send a messgae. - Cookie

Liberation plan

Yemen proposes that the remaining the SDP try and influence the British to remove the last of it's colonies in the middle east although we do not believe it is necessary to go after other colonial powers who might be tempted to side with us. We propose:

  1. Funding separatist groups in Oman, Kuwait and Abu Dabi. We the wait for protests occur.
  2. When/ If protests occur we give the British an ultimatum either to pull out or we will stop British shipping moving through the Straits of Aden, Straits of Constantinople and the Panama Canal.
  3. Invite the new countries into the SDP.

The British have shown in leaving Yemen they lack the energy to hold onto their colonial possessions in the Middle East and so we should aim to remove them as a presence in the Middle East.

Concerns

Spain: We will support this plan although we say that Spain will distance itself from covert activities although if conflict breaks out we pledge our support.

Greece

Turkey is sending 9000 troops to fight for Democratic forces beginning in 1952.0, and will send another 9000 each in both 1952.5 and 1953.0. We will also increase the strength of our naval blockade in Greece and call on other members to take control in order to butt out American interference.

Southeast Asia

SDP Political Ideology

Turkey believes that our most important ideology is that of decolonization and anti-imperialism, but also advocacy of democracy, unity, and peace. For this reason, we support Israel and Kurdistan, and do not view their existences as imperialistic. We also have issue with the lack of democracy in places like Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Mexico, and the fascist past and nationalistic present of the Federation. We encourage all members to crack down on governmental corruption and inequality and begin crafting a more robust democracy.

For Saudi Arabia, fending off imperialism meant returning to our traditions, which is a religious monarchy. I think that the SDP should stand for anti-imperialism, and by that I mean allowing the traditional values of nations be exercised. I also think we should economically seek an autarky within the SDP, where we only need to trade with each other. This means that every resource we need would be provided by members, including industrially manufactured goods.

Economy

Communism, Cuba, Turkey

Turkey is confused as to why we are lumped in with "Cuba" and "Communism", much less why we are a topic at all.

We are trying to make sure we keep Communism out of the most vulnerable places. You border Communist Greece and are very close to the USSR, so we need to ensure that Communist movements don't spread to you. We are trying to do the same in Cuba.
