1949

  • Korea: Korea continues to build up their military, as well as their infrastructure and economy. The stock market is a booming success, as is the Myrae Corporation. Cars start appearing on the streets for wealthy people, although within a few years they will be mass produced and common. Strip mining also starts in the northern mountains, where high deposits of coal, iron, gold and other minerals are discovered. Korea continues its nuclear program, receiving a little aid from Japan.
    • Japan: Japan supplies Korea with the diagrams for the final nuclear weapon that was used on China.
  • Japan: With the Chinese finally broken and battered, Japanese forces begin focusing on the reorganization of occupied China, brutally killing all resistance though most has died out with the massacres in the previous year. The cities of Shanghai, Qingdao, Shantou, Baihei, and Guangzhou are annexed as Imperial Territories similar to Tonkin and the construction of military bases in the cities begin at once. Occupied China is reorganized to fit the Three Chinese Puppet states, all of occupied Inner Mongolia is ceded to Manchuria. All of China north of Nanjing is giving to the Republic of Northern China and the republic is placed under strict Japanese-Manchurian Occupation, while all of occupied China below Nanjing is placed under the administration of the Nanjing Regime and the republic is placed under joint EATSP occupation. The concentration camps are slowly taken down as the prisoners are allowed to go back to their destroyed homes. The official death count of the war is released: 5,600,000 Japanese, some 40,000 Thai, 340,000 Manchu, 7000 Koreans, and about 20,000,000 Chinese. It is unknown if these numbers are accurate but many speculate that the Chinese numbers are extremely lower then the real number, with some saying as many as 40,000,000 Chinese were killed in the conflict. The Japanese forces in China are down scaled from 14,000,000 to 6,000,000 with the rest either being decommissioned or sent to other Japanese military bases around East Asia - mainly Indonesia or Manchuria. About 4,000,000 Japanese troops return home with significant social and mental problems, little chances of work. The usage of Opium amongst returning troops surges. This is accompanied by a rise in domestic violence and rapes back home. The reconstruction of the mainland begins as Japanese aid in the reconstruction of the Chinese homeland they destroyed. The Zaibatsu begin increasing their presence in the mainland by funding the reconstruction in exchange for economic rights in the region. The Railway continues under construction with forced labour still in practise. Research into computers continues with the first model believed to be ready by 1952. The first ever rocket test is made and while the rocket is able to launch into the air it soon malfunctions leading to the project being continued despite the mixed results. Elections are fast approaching and Yamamato goes to represent the Liberal Coalition as the choice for Prime Minister while the Conservative faction is lead by the previous Prime Minister who maintains little popularity. The Communists demand the right to participate; their protest is met by a nationwide crackdown on socialists and Communists alike and their continued restriction from politics. Plans to design a civilian program are made. The designing of an efficient assault rifle continues.
  • Italy; Military buildup continues secretly while Italy's new Imperial Federation government is now in full power. Secret nuclear bomb research continues somewhere in the country. Fleeing Germans are secretly welcomed to Italy. France is offered a trade deal and offers some money to pay for damages while all Communists are now out of Italy and the other parts of the Imperial Federation. France is asked for an alliance to keep Italy out of the Communist camp.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai releases first issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square); with main characters Koishi, Kogasa and Miko, and they go out to find a new culprit who is being a threat. By the end of the first issue the suspect is said to be some Tengu. Prime Minister Khuang Abhaiwongse continues giving women more rights as well. Meanwhile some cities and towns have elected women governors too, along with few more provinces.
  • Argentina: With the American non-intervention, the creation of a greater Latin America project can begin and as promised, the conquered people are to be treated as equal and support will be sent to fight Communism if needed. The invasion of Chile continues and support is asked of Brazil. The Chilean road system is ordered to be kept intact to allow our troops to move. However, the air force is patrolling to destroy any enemy thus preventing them to freely pass. The two carriers built are of great use and the Chilean navy is decimated. Helicopters continue to be researched along with a jet engine. Brazil is invited in this last project to improve its air force, as well. The third carrier continue being built. Patagonia industrialisation and modernisation begins.
  • Turkey: The Turks' march into Greece continues and the capture of Athens does much to boost morale for the troops. The establishment of a modern road system takes place with the first highway system to link Ankara and Istanbul within the next year. A third carrier is under construction, the TNS Sulieman, which is to head the Turkish Third Fleet out of Antioch.
  • Brazil: Continues the war against Peru and the Suriname Netherlands, while continuing the Brazilian part of the Great War through the Americas. Brazil asks the USA and Argentina to form a Continental support alliance in case of an intrusion from outsiders into the American continent (more likely to be Soviets or Japanese) and begins asking for military update from the USA, and that USA defends the Greeks and drop a bomb on Turkey unless they stop attacking Greece and give Thracia or European Turkey as part of their legacy. The navy continues to be updated.
    • Argentina Dip: asks support to Brazil to subdue Chile. We also agree to the Continental Alliance.

1949.5

Guys - you guys don't have to wait for me to start turns.

  • Korea: Korea continues to amp up their military. They take the plans the Japanese have provided and begin to construct one - it is estimated to be finished by 1952 or 1953.
  • Japan: Research into all previous projects continues and research into jets and copters begin as well. An early Assault rifle is designed but fails in the tests so the design returns to the drawing board. During the attempts to make the Computer the inventors accidentally create the first TV which is unknown of its uses for now. The rocket program continues with plans to turn it into a space program by the early 60's. Reconstruction in EATSP. China continues and martial law is declared as insurgents begin appearing again, but the government begins loosening its grip on the puppet regimes. Industry is improved and brought up to technical levels in Japan. Oil production from Indonesia is subsidized by the Japanese government. Elections are held and the Liberal coalition lead by Yamamato ride into the Imperial Diet, a return of freedom of speech within Japan happens. The Thai comics are looked at with great interest by the Japanese intellectual class as a way to approach the younger generation through new methods and an experimental manga is launched in Tokyo about a soldier who fought in the war. It is met with mixed results. The economic strength of the Zaibatsus is now on the level of the American corporations like Standard Oil and Ford. The Monument of the Sun is put forward for construction in Tokyo to honor the rise of Japan in the Orient, along with the remembrance shrine that will be built surprisingly in Shanghai, a move which many believe to be a direct insult to Chinese. The new government immediately begins pushing forward plans to help the returning veterans readjust to peaceful society and to avoid further incidents.
  • The United States decides not to nuke anyone because there is no one to nuke. More troops are withdrawn from Mexico for Europe to win over the war. I think Germany is dead. President Wallace asks to meet with Trotsky of the Soviet Union and Tojo of Japan to discuss some sort of postwar agreement between the three powers regarding the use of nuclear weapons. Meanwhile I proclaim that Hitler has been captured in Mecklenburg by US forces. He is sent off to ??? to await trial at the Hague or something. A new aircraft carrier is completed, the last until 1953.0 and the US also has now reached a total of six carriers. A new type of battleship is developed, much better and more modern than the presently obsolete-ish ones, but they cannot be built without massive hordes of money. American soldiers intercept some fleeing rocket designers from Germany, including Wernher von Braun, as well as one V2 rocket, and they are taken to America to be worked on. They ask the Japanese and then the British if they are interested in pooling resources to make some sort of combined acceleration program for our separate programs.
    • Soviet Dip: Leon Trotsky will meet with Wallace.
    • Japanese Dip: A member of the Imperial Diet will meet with the Americans to discuss terms, but the rocket program is nearly completed and the next phases in the project are about to begin.
    • Turkey Dip: The Turkish government requests a trade pact with the American government and seeks investment in their nation.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union, seeing the power of nuclear weapons, begins SECRET research into a hydrogen bomb. Meanwhile, research continues on rocketry, radar and computers. The Soviet High Command develops an assault rifle dubbed the "AK-47" and is immediately equipped to all arm branches of the Soviet Military. Construction begins on modern battleships and aircraft carriers and the T-54 is released to the world.
    • Turkey Dip: The Turks wish to sign a SECRET military pact with the Soviet Union, as well as a non-aggression pact for the Turks' planned invasion of Persia. Exclusive oil rights will be given to the Soviets, as well as access to Turkish military bases built in the region.
    • Soviet Dip: We SECRETLY agree to the military pact, non-aggression pact, and also provides Turkish troops with AK-47's and T-54's, which are extremely new, but have been field tested and ready for combat.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai writes the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square), to be released next year, and he also plans to have all his manga translated so that more can enjoy the manga outside of Thailand. Thanks to the popularity of his mangas, some Thais begin creating their own manga.
  • Argentina: The invasion of Chile continues and Brazil is asking for support. A diplomat is sent to the USA to offer money for its projects in exchange for support in the war against Chile. The third carrier is complete and another is planned for the next year. The research to develop a chopper continues along with a jet engine. Brazil asks support to develop a jet. A new medium tank is introduced.
  • Brazil: We will support you. Joint development of Chopper with jet engine will start immediately while the invasion of Suriname continues, as well as the war with Peru. 50,000 soldiers march into a swift and fast movement to Lima and another 60,000 into Paramaribo, and the fleet begins constructing ten carriers, set to be finished for the next ten years. USA is asked again for a joint continental defence and a joint Nuclear program for the Americas as well as a Free trade Program for the entire Continent. As well, Brazil nominates Turkey for the bombing as they are the current threat to Greece and Bulgaria.
  • Turkey: The Turks continue their invasion of Greece and prepare for an assault on Bulgaria to reclaim the Turkish lands in Europe outside of Istanbul. Additionally, the third Turkish carrier is completed and sent off to Antioch where it shall be operational. The Turks SECRETLY begin looking for ways to start their own rocket program to stave off any invasions of their lands.
  • UK: We accept the US offer and more rocket knowledge is gained from Germany. Britain sends 400,000 men to help the Greeks to fight the Turks. We also declare war on Turkey.

1950

  • Korea: Korea continues to amp up their military. They take the plans the Japanese have provided and begin to construct one - it is estimated to be finished by 1952 or 1953. Troops are recalled from China. Some protests begin from students, who consider the government to be a dictatorship - they are harshly put down.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The government, while not wanting to interfere in Korean politics, suggests that the Korean state take steps to slowly make their government more transparent and democratic so that our place in the cold war can be better secured with the support of the populace. Also we offer to begin selling Japanese firearms to Korea.
  • UK: Troops continue helping the Greeks fight off the Turks. We also request that the fighting in South America stops.
  • You keep acting implausibly in this game without apparently paying attention to everything going on around you. Unless you want London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff, Dublin, (Belfast?) and basically the entire UK blown up or getting yourself banned, I suggest you turn around.
  • Dublin is in an independent and grey Ireland. It is not British any more (for about 30 years) and thus should not be hit by someone who wants to attack the UK. Do you mean Belfast in Northern Ireland instead? The River Nile-2 (talk) 14:58, October 26, 2012 (UTC)
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai releases the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square); Koishi, Kogasa and Miko continue the investigation, and the clues lead into Burmese region, by the end they hear that the suspect is named Aya.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: the Japanese government offers to sell Japanese weapons and machinery to Siam at low prices.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Khuang Abhaiwongse accepts the offer.
  • The United States military captures several high-ranking German officials. The German chain of command places leadership in the hands of Erwin Rommel. Rommel surrenders Germany to the United States and then commits suicide. America occupies Western Germany, while the Soviets hold the other side. Hitler is moved to a more secure location along with the newly secured Heinrich Himmler, Joseph Goebbels, Herman Göring, Albert Speer, and the others. German troops who refuse to accept defeat burn down the Reichstag and conduct many raids against Allied-held major cities. Complete withdrawal of troops from Mexico is near, possibly by next year. In the meantime, America has total sovereignty over Baja California, the Rio Grande states and Sonora plus Chihuahua.
  • Global Event: The Second World War ends after 12 (correct?) years of fighting with the Surrender of Germany. All participants (excluding the occupied Germany and Italy) are obliged to come to the signing of the peace treaty.
  • Japan: The Japanese economy is slowly reaching a new boom with the war over and the Chinese market now open to Japanese goods. Japanese society begins returning to normalcy as the social programs set by the liberal Diet are put into action and freedom of speech is given once again to the populace. The reorganization of China continues as the empowerment of the new Chinese republic goes on. The military occupation continues as extensive anti-guerrilla movements continue led now by the highly trained I.S.R.F. Japan Refuses to withdraw from China as it is a necessary part of the post war. Should the British so much as get involved there will be serious repercussions. Reconstruction of China continues and the railway continues to be constructed. Tonkin is settled by a few thousand Japanese to create a Japanese elite within the Imperial territory and the same will be done with the Imperial cities in China in the future. As an experiment to see how it does in the open market the first television is put on sale based on the prototype developed last year. Research into the computer continues with some but very little progress due to the complexity of the task at hand. The rocket project continues as it has made great strides since its beginning and a new design is made for the internal mechanisms to get better results. Jet, chopper and other research projects are continued. The Japanese government, in an attempt to become more transparent and realign itself with the East, begins planning an East Asia Tribunal for crimes committed by both Japanese and Chinese during the war and with the plan to publicly condemn the continuation of Imperialism by the western powers in East Asia (Portugal and the UK). While trade will continue and relations will remain cordial Japan promises to lead the EATSP in this time where its role in the shaping of East Asia is crucial. Using this decree Japan begins to publicly support nationalist groups within European colonies in East Asia, stating that peaceful means must be used to achieve this while under the table Japanese arms and instructors are sent to India, Burma, Malaysia, and East Timor. A new better rifle design is made and the testing begins. It is the Arisawa 50 (OTL FN FAL) and widespread distribution of the gun begins. Offers to begin selling the gun to the rest of the EATSP once trials are finished is made with Manchuria and Indonesia accepting while the rest is unknown. Plans to update the military creation of new war-machines are made for the mid 1950's. Plans to eventually give voting rights to women are made.
  • Argentina: The invasion of Chile is continuing and pro-annexation propaganda which promises water to every village, end to poverty, equality and food for everyone begins to be put in the occupied territories. Democratic reform also begins to be passed which allows citizens to politely put the government policy and propose alternatives is passed. Regional elections are also created. The research to develop jet and choppers continues with the first chopper prototype being built. However, it failed to fly up to thirty seconds. Many important roads of Chile are taken, effectively reducing the mobility of the Chilean troops. The railroad in Argentina is almost complete and is planned to be finished in six months. We will, with the permission of Brazil, link our part with the one which is ready on your side.
  • Turkey: With SECRET aid from the Soviets, the Turkish military launch a full-scale invasion of Persia, determined to finish what they started more than a decade ago. The Turks make additional gains in Greece, and capture the Greek leadership outside of Athens. Plans to put them on trial are underway in Ankara next year.

1950.5

  • Korea: Korea continues to pull troops out of China. Protests against the government continue, as do the crackdowns. Students begin to throw rocks at policemen, and the army is called to back them up. The nuclear program continues. However, when it is leaked that their government is working on a nuclear weapon, mass protests occur within the nation.
  • Japan: Operations in China are slowly reformed to involve simply anti-guerrilla ones and policing to try to end the brutality towards Chinese and more help towards the Chinese community begins. The troop numbers are slowly scaled down to 2,500,000 on the mainland and 700,000 in Japan, and 1,500,000 troops spread throughout the EATSP on different bases while the reserves are at 1,000,000. Plans are made to eventually move larger numbers of the active force to the reserves and downscale the number of soldiers since we are in peace times now. Industrialization of the Chinese republics continue, the railway continues construction. More civil liberties are given to the population and the government begins reforming the education and health services to improve them. The project to begin converting nuclear technology to civil uses begins with plans to create the first nuclear plant by 1957. Research into all current projects continue. The Arisawa 50 proves the best weapon produced yet and mass distribution begins to the armed forces. Another nuclear bomb is made and is stored away in an unknown location in the Japanese homeland. Japan requests that Korea start listening to the population so that the matter can be resolved quickly.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai writes the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square). The HTMS คอนปาคุ (Khxnpākhu) (OTL HTMS Sri Ayuthiya, though a bit better) begins construction.
  • Italy: Italy agrees to attend the peace conference and STATES IT'S NOT OCCUPIED, and that Italy has been a Federated Republic for several years now following Mussolini's overthrow. Libyan, Eritrean, Somalian, and Italian congressman meet in Rome to discuss what should be done at the peace conference. Secret research on nuclear weapons continues.
  • Soviet Union: Soviet High Command is nearing the end of its rocketry project, while radar is finished and is equipped to every military vessel belonging to the Soviet Union. The helicopter prototype is finished and is scheduled for testing next turn. The AK-47 continues to be produced and it makes most modern weapons (excluding the Japanese Arisawa 50) obsolete to the rapid fire of the AK. Leon Trotsky begins to look into reforms to prevent the stagnation of the Soviet Economy and allow greater outside influence into the country.
  • UK: We continue to help the Greeks fight off the Turks. France is asked to join the war (RNG please). We secretly work on a nuclear project.
  • Argentina: Celebration occurred throughout the nation after that the Argentinean territories and even more are taken. The Chileans in the conquered lands are offered immediate citizenship. It means that they can tell their problem to the government and that they will have the same treatment as any citizens. The reforms are expanded to the new territories. The research to develop a jet engine and a helicopter continues.

1951

  • Korea: Mass student protests continue against the government- more harsh measures are used, as the President seeks reelection next year. The Army is once again called in to handle the students. However, to the shock of both the President and the rest of the government, elements sympathize with the student movement and actually join them. However, most remain loyal to the government. The Massacre of Seoul occurs when soldiers open fire on 500 protesting students. Over 62 students were killed and hundreds injured. The nuclear program continues to develop.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai releases the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square): Koishi, Kogasa and Miko arrive in Burma and manage to dig more clues, but it gets difficult as the Tengu manages to leave many tricks behind; soon however Koishi, Kogasa and Miko meet Dr. Sein and he tells another story about the Tengu, which leads to more clues afterwards of where the Tengu could strike next; in the end of the third series, Kogasa manages to find out that the suspect's name is in fact Aya, though it doesn't get much far, yet. The HTMS คอนปาคุ (Khxnpākhu) continues construction.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: Under pressure from the government a permanent Zaibatsu sells 20% of its shares in Siamese businesses to local companies to improve local earnings and to promote greater economic cooperation.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Khuang Abhaiwongse agrees to the deal.
  • Japan: The Japanese government, hoping to keep its neighbor and ally stable, once again requests that the government make at least a few reforms to appease the populace. Japanese reforms back home continue to begin improving Japanese living standards and as part of the plans to restore Japan's image abroad and to bring its people back to reasoning ends the practise of referring to the Emperor as a living god and that, while deeply shocking the people of the nation in the long run, is considered to be for the best. The increase in technological studies is also made with the intent to become the forefront nation in technological advancement. Looking to weakening the western position in the east, Japan begins supplying more firearms to nationalist groups in the British colonies in South Asia - mainly Burma and India - while covert operations led by the I.S.R.F. are planned to begin as well to directly aid them in the future struggle for independence. (I really think that resistance movements should begin - or at least widespread protests throughout the colonies around the world since the western powers except the USA are extremely unstable at the moment and probably in large problems economically) The Anti-Guerrilla operations in the Chinese states are becoming more successful as the years of fighting, Japanese aid in reconstruction and the fear of Japanese reprisal are slowing taking their toll on the resistance but it is thought that resistance to Japanese influence will never die away because of the existence of Chinese ultra-nationalists, and Communists that will, without a doubt, fight for a reunited China. All Japan can do is make sure they don't get enough support and that region of China is secured militarily. The training of national armies made up of EATSP sympathizers begins supplying them with Sino-Japanese War weapons to avoid the newer weapon models from falling into the hands of rebels. The Arisawa 50 is starting to be widely distributed throughout the armed forces. New machine gun and submachine gun designs are started to continue the replacement of the 1940's weapons that are quickly becoming outdated. The civil nuclear plan continues and a basic reactor is designed. All other research programs are continued with a chopper design nearly completed. The East Asian War Trials begin including the trial of General Shiro Ishii for experimentation on humans during the war, Shigetaro Shimada for treason against the state prior to the war and for crimes against the peace, Colonel Hashimoto for promoting rape and mass killing of Chinese when the high command expressed that this was not allowed, along with several other notables. The Chinese defendants include former Chinese leaders and Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong who was captured during anti-guerrilla operations this year. The railway in China continues to be built now nearing completion. Computer research continues.
  • The United States announces a plan to redevelop destroyed countries that were in the war but asks for help from its fellow Allies. Meanwhile, President Wallace begins his reelection campaign and promises that he'll continues his pro-peace policies. HE TELLS THE PARTICIPANTS FROM THE WAR THAT YOU ALL NEED TO GO THE TALK PAGE AND SIGN THE TREATY OR DIE. (Just saying.) Meanwhile, the rocket program continues as well as the hydrogen bomb project. The rocket project is dropped towards the end of May to be replaced with a space program. The National Aeronautic and Space Engineering Administration (NASEAd for short) is founded to carry out the "mission" and it is directed by John E. Hoover and Wernher von Braun. (Since von Braun is working for us and such, I threw him in, and since I decided not make Hoover the FBI director, I threw him in too. Win win!)
  • Imperial Italian Federation: Italy continues massive military buildup and fortifications across the country and along the coast of the homeland and its colonies. The USSR is offered a deal to have Italy become fully Communist and a Soviet ally if the USSR doesn't allow Italian division. Italy also states IT WAS NEVER INVADED IN EITHER THE HOMELAND OR AFRICAN COLONIES, AND THEREFORE, WE SHOULD NOT BE DIVIDED. WILL ADD MORE LATER
  • You fool, whoever you are, the Allies invaded you a long time ago. The Republic was created under the occupation. Then we let you go. And no one is splitting you up. Read the damn treaty.

1951.5

  • Korea: Korea continues on their nuclear program. The protests continue, with no sign of ending. The government continues to take its hardliner stance against the protests.
  • Japan: The Japanese government decides to remain neutral in the Korean crisis until a later time instead deciding to focus on China and the British to the south. Imperial Forces are slow continuing to break the Chinese resistance. Tonkin is slowly populated with more Japanese looking to make a new future in the Imperial Territory. The government gives permission to create a hydrogen bomb. Japanese research projects are advancing well enough with the PC and Space Programs advancing along nicely. The Designs for the new firearms are made and put into the testing phase. New Tank and APC designs will be made in 1954 along with new plan designs once the jet is completed. The navy begins realizing that the Battleships are going to obsoleted soon by rocket technology and begins making plans to phase them out in favor of more mobile and effective ships. The technological improvement of the industrial sector continues. More rights are giving to women following Siam's example and the improvement of health and education continues. The military continues its modernization as the Arisawa 50 is distributed to most of the forces while the reserves retain the older rifles as the active forces are giving priority. The Railway From Tonkin to Harbin is nearly completed. Indonesian oil now accounts for 40% of all Japanese imports making it the second largest after the down scaled 47% imports from the USA which were once 80%. The industrial production of the EATSP economic bloc now is on a scale similar to the USA and the British Empire. The Empire steps up its pressure on the British to grant independence to its colonies and more firearms are sold to nationalist groups while military personnel are sent - disguised as regular traders - are dispatched to make more connections with these groups and train them in guerrilla tactics. These agents are put under the direct orders of Colonel Nakamura who organizes the efforts into the Imperial Insurgency and Counter-Insurgency Unit making the foundation of the Japanese intelligence services it is under the direct control of the Imperial high command however. A second nuclear bomb is detonated as a test and a demonstration that Japan can produce more to the rest of the world. The Bomb goes off in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the Marianas and is widely photographed and publicized by the nation.
  • The United States urges more countries to sign the treaty BECAUSE YOU HAVE CAUSE YOU FOUGHT IN THE DAMN WAR (YES, DAMN WAR) AND YOU'RE GONNA DIE IF YOU DON'T. President Wallace continues campaigning for the presidency and peace. Meanwhile, the space program continues with the help of the NASEA and lots of physicists are brought into the project. Wernher von Braun brings up an insane theorem that proves incredibly facilitating when it comes to getting rockets out of the Earth's pull of gravity.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union continues its research into rocketry and modern weaponry. The Soviet Air Force begins testing jet engines and helicopter, so that they can have advantage in mobility in a time of war. The Soviet Navy begins to phase out battleships in favor of aircraft carriers and submarines. The Soviet Union proposes a joint-program between the USSR and Japan about removing the European Imperialist from Asia and possibly Africa. Meanwhile, the Soviet Spetnaz begins to fund anti-colonialism in Africa, particularly in South Africa and France.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Empire, while intrigued by the idea, has to consider all outcomes including the fact that we are ideologically opposite (keep that in mind - you'd want to wipe out Japan and its allies) but consideration will be taking.
  • Argentina: Chile is invaded once again. After that, a spy is told to have been arrested to spark revolt. In the former Chilean territory, life conditions and economy is greatly improved and many persons there saw the opportunity to be citizens of Argentina. A helicopter is developed and began to be built in limited number to serve as scouts or transports. A jet engine continues to be developed. Racism between Latin American people began to be countered.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai writes the fourth issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square). The HTMS คอนปาคุ (Khxnpākhu) continues construction. Meanwhile, new railways are planned as well.

1952

Many African nations declare independence from their masters - Egypt, South Africa and Libya. Some other nations that become independent are India and Pakistan, Iraq and French Syria.

  • Korea: Korea continues to work on their nuclear program - however, it receives much heat from student protesters. Martial law is declared as protests reach a climax, with the Seoul and Pusan Riots. Over six police officers are killed in the attacks, as well as 40 protesters. The military patrols the streets and a curfew is in effect. Seven more people are shot when they disobey the curfew. Many people begin to call for the resignation of Kim Il-Sung.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Japanese government pleads that Kim Il-Sung begin starting reforms and promote greater liberties to the populace or the state may face deep internal strife. Emperor Hirohito and Prime Minister Yamamato in a joint public speech request that both sides talk out the matters before things spiral out of control and Yamamato offers to mediate the talks should they begin.
  • Japan: The military continues its operations against the resistance that is still alive in Former China but it is continuing to falter against the massive advantage that the Japanese have gained on them. A general amnesty is offered to all that lay down their arms, the training of the new Chinese armies continue. Plans are made to begin allowing mild socialists parties accepted again in Japan but all hard liners or extremist movements remain forbidden and persecuted. The Nuclear civil program continues and the first nuclear power plant will be built in Tokyo by 1956. The space program continues with plans to launch the first man into space by 1960. The Tatsu 52 (a machine gun based on the Arisawa 50 design) is designed and testing begins. The jet program is nearly completed as is the chopper program and designs are started to start building new aircraft by 1954 are put into place. The computer program continues to advance with it planned to be completed by the end of next year. The trials continue as more war criminals are prosecuted including the former prime minister on charges of promoting the massacre of Wuhan in the final years of the war. Emperor Hirohito is striped of a little more power but the Emperor is still the head of state and the government has no intention of changing this. Industrial production continues to dominate the nation's foreign policy along with better relations with the rest of East Asia. The promotion of independence in Asia from the western powers continues as more operations are carried out by the I.S.R.F. and the I.I.C.I.U. in British colonies including the training of resistance groups, the High Command considers it is time to push the groups in Burma and India to declare independence and they suggest that the Free Indian movement declare independence from the British Empire promising Japanese diplomatic and, if necessary, limited Military support. The East Chinese Railroad is completed at last after seven years of work spanning from Tonkin to Harbin and it is owned by the Zaibatsus bringing in massive revenues from mainland transport of goods and passengers, mainly troops heading north and south. Plans to branch out the railway to the rest of the mainland EATSP are made mainly to Seoul and Bangkok. Mangas begin to pick up in popularity in Japan with the stories of war in China influencing most them at the moment; the manga become a major focal point for political groups along with the newspaper and Radio. The Diet decides to promote complete freedom of speech as long as it does not affect national stability. The navy is slowly modernized to phase out those components considered obsolete. The Imperial Marines are expanded and modernized. Health and education are considered the key to society and they are continuously improved and brought under state control to make it free and accessible to all including minority groups. All minorities within the Empire are granted full citizenship with the right to vote and participate in political activities improving the previous standing of the ethnic groups that are not Japanese. An airway company starts up in Tokyo under state and private control with flights being between Tokyo, Osaka, Harbin, and Taihoku for the moment with plans to expand it.

Um - we need to start the UN page and we really need to get under way the decolonization and rise of resistance movements in Europe, oppressed Latin America. In Argentina a democracy movement led by Peron would actually be pretty probable - same in Brazil. Remember, Latinos have always been extremely pro-democratic, and a few Communist and nationalist movements would be quite enjoyable to see and crush if you can, that is :P. Nkbeeching

The development of the I3 Avcısı main battle tank (M3-Stalker MBT), is commissioned by the government as an answer to the Soviet and Japanese tanks under development. Progress on the development of nukes is continuing with all possible haste, and reports on the project have put government officials at ease.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai releases the fourth issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square); Koishi, Kogasa and Miko continue looking for more clues and such about Aya, and later after searching in Monywa, one of the clues leads to the full suspects name: 射命丸 文 (Aya Shameimaru) and leads that she may be somewhere in China; with that in mind Koishi, Kogasa and Miko begin to book a flight to Northwest China; by the end of the issue, they land in Hanzhong, and soon Koishi finds a clue within the airport. The HTMS คอนปาคุ (Khxnpākhu) continues construction. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction.
  • Japan: The Imperial army declares an end to martial law with most of the resistance to the new government having been suppressed but the operations will continue, but being reduced to raids and sweeping operations. Many western ideals begin returning to Japan with the continued liberalization of the nation including some more liberal styles of clothing. The industrial boom continues throughout Japan and its fellow EATSP partners. All research programs are continued. The aid and diplomatic backing of independence groups in East Asia remains strong. The military re-arming and re-forming continues.

1953

  • Korea: A full out rebellion occurs in Korea as protesters storm government buildings, capturing the Minister of Health, Agriculture, Defense, and Interior. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction. Soon elections are held and Lursakdi Sampatisiri becomes the first female Prime Minister of Siam.
  • Japan: The Diet recognizes the new government in power and requests that they remain a part of the EATSP and remain on friendly terms with Japan. The anti-imperialist stance remains strong as Emperor Hirohito begins giving speeches about a free greater Asia, and in a very stunning move he will begin a tour of East Asia starting with Korea to give more speeches, his tour will be guarded by the elite I.S.R.F. The study into Hydrogen bombs continues to not fall behind the Americans, while the space program is making progress as the scientists involved put all their efforts to completing the task at hand. A second rocket is tested in early March which proves successful, leading to an increase in the project's budget. The first computer prototype is made and when it turns on the city of Osaka suffers electric shortages. The Chinese republic receives greater funding foe reconstruction and tons of propaganda are produced showing Chinese and Japanese working together to help rebuild their homes. The basis of this stunt is to show that China and Japan are able to leave aside old wounds. The NTO 52 is designed as a replacement for the old tanks but testing will continue until it is decided to be a good design. Jet research is completed and new plane designs are made immediately for testing, while the first prototype chopper is made.

  • Imperial Italian Federation: SECRET: The secret nuclear bomb research continues in secret facilities somewhere in Italy. Military buildup resumes as does naval and air force buildup. Italy also offers Arabia an alliance and begins secretly funding African rebels in allied Africa, sending guns and weapons as well as money. Public: Italy mourns the loss of the Axis alliance and trade ends with Britain, France and the United States while trade with the USSR and its Communist allies is strengthened. The USSR is asked for help in reorganizing Italy into the Peoples Constitutional Monarchy of Italy. (A Communist state)

1953.5

  • Korea: The new government consolidates their power as the military stays in the streets.
  • Japan: The Imperial Government meets criticism from right wing extremists for the role the played in destroying the Glory of the Japanese Empire in 1935 with the coup that removed the hardliners from power. Most of these are silenced in a public speech that spoke of all Japan has achieved because of the coup, and all that could have happened to the Empire should the coup have failed including an un-thought of and unexpected dropping of a nuclear weapon on Japanese soil and the defeat of the Imperial navy should it have followed its previous policies, while Japan is now in a place where it can withstand western nations in a theatrical war which is something Japan doesn't want though. It would have been destroyed 15 years ago and even now Japan would probably be overwhelmed should it ever anger the USA, and the USSR. While some Ultra Nationalists continue to press their complaints on the government most in the country acknowledge what the government says. Yamamato, while saying that war with the west is undesired and unwanted, Japan will remain strong in its stance as the defender of East Asia against western imperialism and the political support for Asian independence continues. The truth about Japanese military involvement in European colonies is, however, not released to the public. The operations in Burma and India are expanded with the I.S.R.F. coming into direct contact with the royal army men, but these encounters end with no British survivors and with false evidence pointing to Communist revolutionaries or bandits. The Imperial airlines company begins flights to Tonkin now along with Micronesia. Industrial output continues at large levels and even expands due to large markets in East Asia. The last 20 years of Japanese history are officially called the "Years of the Rising Sun" being named after a book written by a political critic who gives a detailed recount of the events that have taken place since the coup, and the change in Japan's methods towards achieving its ultimate goal "equality with the west and supremacy over the East". While the book is not banned it is looked down upon by the government since it claims that Japan's only goal is control while the government promotes the idea of Asian equality. The book isn't a big hit in East Asia but sells quite well in some western nations mainly Great Britain and Portugal, where Japanese as a race are generally feared for having destabilized the status quo in the east and having achieved the status of a nuclear power without western help. (I'm merely writing something that would generally be felt - the same as what many feared in the Soviets) The computer is considered a success and is planned to be used for military use for the moment. More televisions are sold but are considered an over expensive unnecessary luxury good for the rich, while most people remain content with the radio or the movies, which provide more variety and quality. The space program continues to advance with the construction of the nation's first satellite beginning in an attempt to beat the other world powers to the chase. The first chopper prototype is a success and production will begin soon. Jet planes continue to be drafted for the future design. The Tatsu 52 begins being distributed on a wide scale to replace obsolete machine guns, a design to replace the submachine guns continues, though. The new tank model is tested and the results will come out next year. The reforms in education and health are completed and the system stands in high regards for its objectiveness and non-biased stance on history and politics by many critics, while the health system receives extensive funds from the state.
  • The United States tests another, larger hydrogen bomb. Meanwhile, work on the space program continues. The satellite is nearing completion and will be launched in two or three years. President Wallace is assassinated in Chicago by former American Nazi. The Nazi escapes the country, and new President Adlai Stevenson is determined to find him. Meanwhile, General Dwight D. Eisenhower is removed from West Germany (The German Republican Federation/DRF) and elections are held. Former Weimar politician Karl Wessenberg is elected president, although American troops remain positioned in the DRF.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the fifth issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square). The HTMS คอนปาคุ (Khxnpākhu) continues construction. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction. Also, the ไทยรุ่ง (Thai Rung Union Car) is founded and established.
  • Argentina: A five year program to stabilise the nation starts. The program includes a clean up of the Chilean separatists and Communists and the assimilation of some - if possible - and a modernisation of the infrastructure and military forces. More military bases are kept in the former Chilean land. More troops are sent into Brazil to fight the Communists in the south. The USA is asked for support in the form of technologies to prevent the takeover of Latin America by the Communists. The third jet engine prototype is built and proves itself to work. However, it is not perfect and is built in limited numbers. The fourth carrier continues being built. The literacy in the nation is improved.
  • Turkey: The Turkish military begins to organize for the testing of the nuke as the project is wrapped up. Reports are sent to the government alerting them to the planned test, and political figures prepare themselves for the secret event. In Persia, additional gains are made with the capture of Risht, and in Greece, Corinth falls easily into the hands of the Turkish forces. The Turks push forward with determination as they gear up for another wave of fighting in both countries.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Government formally establishes the Warsaw Pact between East Germany, Poland, Lithuania. Meanwhile, research continues into the hydrogen bomb, while a rocket is tested, and reaches the atmosphere before breaking apart and falling back down to earth. The first prototype jet fighter, nicknamed MiG-1 is tested, and is slightly a success, but needs improvement. A helicopter prototype is also tested, but crashes back down to earth. The Soviet High Command begins to construct submarines, which the Soviets determine are easier to use and more stealthy than battleships or aircraft carriers. The three Soviet battleships are scrapped and the radar is finished. Research begins on sonar for the submarines.
  • Brazil: After a few years victories arises from Brazil to the Communist rebels who are pushed to the rain forest to hide out. While this, the war with Peru is restarted as to reach a Pacific coast for Brazil. Though the newly elected president Carlos Luz, he decides to give a diplomatic view of this and give back Brazilian gains from the war. If Brazil gets a terrain to connect the main territories to the Pacific. It, as well, asks the USA to do something to the Turkish as they have invaded Greece and Persia. You are the only nation with the power to Stop them. The military continues to be built up. The Brazilian Argentinian helicopter after successfully - though not as desired - the three carriers are finished and another three are expected to be built for the next few years. America is asked again to form a capitalist American PACT to avoid European or Soviet intrusion into the Americas
    • Argentina Dip: We would like to offer you access to our Pacific port until you get your own. We also propose to open a second front as we now have a common frontier with Peru.
    • Brazil Dip: We would appreciate your help into the port access from you - but I would like that for the second front, to wait an answer from the Peruvian government.
    • Also - does someone want to join this map game http://althistory.wikia.com/wiki/Arabian_Failure_(Map_Game)?

1954

Everyone vote on the new UN resolution- here.

  • Korea: The new Korean government continues to consolidate their power as another nuclear weapon is tested. Most of the military pledges their allegiance to the new government since the leader is a military leader. Korea tells the world that they have nothing to fear from this new regime - and that they will be devoted to peace and prosperity for all. The nuclear program continues, and another aircraft carrier starts to be built. The Office of Social Security is also made, which gives pensions to the elderly, helps the jobless, etc.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Japanese government requests that the new government clearly state their position towards Japan and towards the EATSP and request that Korea remain in the alliance since it is a key ally in the alliance and a nation Japan wishes to remain on good terms with due to its geographic position.
    • Korean Diplomacy: Korea confirms that Korea will stay in the EATSP.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the fifth issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square). The HTMS คอนปาคุ (Khxnpākhu) finishes construction and is put into use. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction.
  • Turkey: With Greece defeated, and Persia coming under the complete grasp of Turkey every day, the Turkish military invades Bulgaria to reclaim the lost lands outside of Istanbul. A force of 85,000 men assault the Bulgarian nation from the south to reclaim their lands and return them to Turkey. Elsewhere, the Turks attack Isfahan with their eyes set on pushing through to Shiraz to the south. Upon hearing of Syria's independence, a force of 175,000 men is sent to invade and annex the nation, and bring them under the "protection" of the Turkish nation. In the Black Sea, the Turks detonate their first atomic bomb, and with the testing complete, the government authorises the creation of additional warheads to build up their nuclear arsenal. The first set of bombs is expected to be delivered by 1957. With this arsenal, Turkey hopes to become a regional, if not world power in the distant future. Celebrations take place throughout Turkey when news of the warhead's detonation make it back to the mainland. Protests in the capital also begin when opposers to nuclear armament hear of the bomb, and march to the capital to demand that the nation remain a nuclear-free state. They remain outnumbered by supporters for the bomb.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Diet requests that Turkey cease all its expansionist efforts as they are only to take land and not promote any ideals or unity amongst the people, should Turkey continue to expand into the Middle East Japan will cut off all diplomatic relations with state.
    • Turkish Response: Did not your own nation invade China and kill millions? Take your two-faced hide out of our nation. Hoşçakalın. (Translated as "Goodbye").
    • Japanese Diplomacy: While the Empire fought with China it was a conflict that was inevitable in the long run and by far one of the nation's most important moments but don't forget that the war with China escalated due to complications and it was impossible to cease the warfare without massive sacrifice on all sides. Also, stability is slowly returning to the Chinese regions thanks to greater cooperation between East Asians, the greater goal of the Japanese and its allies. What is Turkey trying to achieve by its constant warfare, the return to the glorious days of Turkey? Turkey is once again requested to cease its constant expansion and look towards diplomacy instead of war as its solution.
    • Turkish Response: Japan invaded China even after warnings from all nations including the League of Nations, to not invade China. You had the power to stop your attacks without any loss of life, but continued your invasion. And the stability means nothing if justice is not given to the families your nation's armed forces slaughtered. War is the only option to regain our lost lands and fix a great wrong. We shall have no dealings with hypocrites.
    • Actually in this game Japan received no warnings from any nation and read my previous turns. Several trials have been carried out to deal with war criminals - both Chinese and Japanese.
    • Ah, okay.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: With the Turkish refusing to listen to reason cuts off all ties with Turkey and begins supplying firearms and tanks to Persia. The supplying is protected by the Imperial navy.
    • Turkish Response: You cannot enter the Persian Gulf without passing the Turkish naval blockade force. Your ships will be fired upon if they attempt to force themselves into the gulf.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: Should even a single Japanese life or even a bit of Japanese equipment be harmed there will be severe consequences. Plus, you can't block the entire Persian coastline especially should the Japanese Imperial navy get involved.
    • Turkish Response: The Turkish navy will be waiting for you.
  • Japan: The Diet publicly denounces the continued incursion into Persia and offers complete diplomatic support to the Persian monarchy along with military aid should it prove necessary. The Military operations in former China are nearly completed and The forces in China are slowly replaced by local troops raised from loyalists to the Japanese backed regimes. 2,000,000 troops are left in the Chinese states while the rest are decommissioned or put into the reserve or active forces back in Japan. The increase in dependence on mutual relations between Japan and its puppet states to bring about greater friendliness and trust along with bringing about the best possible economic results possible to benefit all partners in the trades. Indonesia and Manchuria remain the most loyal of all the Japanese backed states and they are also the ones which hold the largest economic value to the Japanese economy, along with having the most trustworthy troops. Japan signs a free commerce and migration act with Manchuria and Indonesia to allow the movement of workers and entrepreneurs into each others nations, a similar offer is made to Siam with plans to do the same with Indochina. The first Japanese hydrogen bomb will be tested in the Pacific at the end of the year. The new tank design proves quite effective and mass production will begin soon enough it has a much higher mobility rate while being well built and sturdy but slightly lighter in armor then American or Russian tanks but they are considered perfect for the landscapes of the mountainous north or tropical south of East Asia. A new APC is designed. The chopper prototype is giving several modifications to improve efficiency in transport and support to the army and marines which is the planned usage of the chopper. The first prototype jet fighter is made and testing will begin soon enough. More rights are giving to the minorities in Japan and to women. Education and health care are still the priority of the Liberal Coalition in power in the Diet but the possibility of expanding social benefits to gain the support of the socialist and worker movements is taking into consideration, much to the disgust of extreme conservatives and ultra-nationalists who have been marginalized socially for over 20 years most choose to leave Japan for other parts of the world as a self imposed exile but others plan to retake power and take advantage of the current level of Japan. The Computer proves a great asset to the military bureaucracy due to its capacity to process information and store much needed data. The radar is put forward for improvements. Emperor Hirohito begins his tour around the world by visiting Emperor Pu Yi in Manchuria and the New government in Korea, followed with visiting the King of Siam next and the President of Indonesia after, then the Emperor will head towards the Western nations to meet with the various world leaders of the post-World War Era. The navy continues to face reforms and reconstruction to make it grander and more efficient then before, at the moment Subs, destroyers are receiving greater attention but the aircraft carriers and the naval land air bases are still the priority of the navy and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future with the air superiority being the focus of the imperial armed forces. At the moment Japan is considered to maintain the second greatest navy in the world behind the Americans since the British and French navies suffered greatly from the Second World War and also have suffered neglect since its completion, but Japan hopes to overtake the Americans as the greatest navy by the end of the 1950's. The Space program continues with the satellite construction and the ambitious program to send a man into space by 1960 at the latest. The construction of the first Japanese nuclear reactor continues in Tokyo.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri agrees to the offer.
  • Argentina: The Chilean separatists continue to be hunted and put in concentration camps. The Communists continue to be arrested en masse. The new Chilean territory continues to be modernised and industrialised as the government hopes that the Chileans will see the light. The fourth carrier is completed and the helicopter development continues. Already, new uses are discovered - like for medical use of the people lost in the mountains. The jet engine remaining lack continues to be fixed. The number of cars grow by 25% percent and after that several good roads are built.
  • The United States continues the space program. Meanwhile, plans begin to test something like the OTL Tsar bomba. Meanwhile, the US denounces the Turkish invasion of Persia. Some arms and money are sent to Persia.
  • UK: British government sends 600,000 troops to shield the Persians. We ask the UN for help.

  • Korea: The new Korean government continues to consolidate their power. The interior continues to be improved, although it is not a democracy. The military continues to be built up, and parades are held throughout the nation. The aircraft carrier continues to be created. The first Korean aircraft carrier is also stationed outside of Korean waters- it is placed in international waters under Japan.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the fifth issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square) and it will be released next year. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction.
  • The United States finds that the assassin of President Henry A. Wallace was paid for and trained by the East German government. The US asks the Soviets to do something. Meanwhile, the US creates the Global Organization for Capitalism, O, and Liberal Democracy (pronounced GO-COLD), consisting of it, Cuba, Mexico, West Germany and any democratic nation abroad. Invited are: Britain, France, Italy, Persia, Siam, Korea, and anyone outside the Warsaw Pact. America asks Japan to reorganize the rest of China into some sort of nationalist union.
    • Jap Dip: The Diet unfortunately refuses to do any such thing with China. The Dragon of the East must never be revived to secure order and stability in the east. (No way would any nation try to unify China after breaking down due to its sheer size and potential. Divided, the Chinese states can remain strong but never pose a threat to the Japanese order in the east) Japan requests that the EATSP become an observer part of the GOCD
    • Accepted and accepted.
  • Argentina: Continues to crack down on the separatists and many bases are destroyed with the combat helicopter. The situation in the Chilean autonomous province slowly gets quiet as many citizens there began to see the benefit. After that the small villages receive water and the farmers receive modern equipment. The city also saw an expensive modernisation project and unemployment went down. A modernisation program of the military force began to stay equal with most of the world. A medical breakthrough occurred when a way to fight tropical disease is made. Many techniques to fight the mosquitoes began to be applied throughout the nation.
  • Japan: Emperor Hirohito visits Pu Yi in Manchuria and the talks between both monarchs are extensive - mainly about non-essential things - but a few important topics are brought up for the future. Hirohito leaves on a good note heading to Seoul - now reaching it by September of the same year to talk to the regime. The Diet passes the workers rights bill granting better work conditions and a minimum wage to all of the working class. The industrial block continues to dominate the Japanese economy with its puppet states. Its allies (Siam mainly) and Central America become the major places for receiving Japanese products. A free trade agreement is requested with the USA. Mitshubishi begins creating new car designs to replace the older ones. The Imperial navy is dispatched to intimidate Turkey into withdrawing from Persia completely and firearms along with food are sent to Persia to aid it. A new submachine gun is made and testing begins. The Hakata Chopper becomes the first Japanese military helicopter and its usage is mainly transport, but plans to replace it as soon as possible begin. The first Hydrogen bomb is tested and it is again widely publicized. The construction of the power plant begins. The space program continues in good course. The Zero 22 is made as a replacement for the old fighter. It is the first Japanese jet fighter. Funds into an anti-biowarfare program start up but this, unlike unit 731, is meant only for defensive purposes and is highly controlled by the government but it does use the data collected from the previous bio-warfare units. A popular tournament begins to appear in the Japanese underground having to do with martial arts death matches. The industrialization of the EATSP is started up again. The remodeling of the army and navy continues.
  • UK: Troops begin their first attack on Turkish forces and the navy is put where the Japanese fleet is. We also launch Operation Desert Storm to push the Turks out of Persia and we secretly send MI6 agents to inspire the Greeks to rise up against their Turkish oppressers and we create an alliance called NATO. We invite the US, Italy, France (RNG for France) and Spain.
  • No. You cannot create a NATO, no Alliance. You are not a leader. You are a destroyed, war torn nation. You are a puppet of America. You are in the
  • India: Steps into world affairs. The army is given special attention and it asks its fellow nations from the EATSP to help it industrialize and build armed forces. Meanwhile, the five year plan begins with many dams across the country beginning construction. Along with this, fertiliser is given to over 40% of farmers to increase yield and make enough food for the country. The country cuts off all relations with Pakistan due to Kashmir and militarises on its border with the country. 10% conscription is ordered as guns manufacture puts up hugely and tank designs are asked for from the Japanese. India is unsure about the Turkish invasion and hopes that the situation resolves itself. India also wants to begin research into its own jet fighter but requires help.
    • Japanese Dip: The Japanese government agrees to send blueprints as well as sell the Arisawa 50 rifle to India. It also requests permission to use Indian soil to send supplies and troops to help the Persians defend their soil.
    • Indian Diplomacy: India thanks Japan, and will only allow Japanese troops if they do not invade from India and only use the country as a stepping stone into Persia.
  • Québec: There is much happiness in the province at a 54%/46% ballot in favour of independence from Canada. Friendly relations are offered to the UK, Canada, Newfoundland-Labrador, France and the USA. Some new shoe factories are opened in Montréal.
  • Turkey: The Turks continue their drive into Persia and Syria, and fight their way deeper into Bulgaria, determined to punish the nation for their invasion of Turkey a decade and a half ago. The Turks continue development of their nuclear arsenal, with the development of an automatic assault rifle called the OT-1 Meç. It is slated to become the standard issue weapon of the army forces by 1958. Additionally, the Turkish naval force sent to circumnavigate the globe returns to the city of Istanbul, signalling Turkey's development of a blue-water navy.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union, seeing foreign intervention in Persia as a sign of Imperialism from both the West (Britain) and the East (Japan), leads Premier Leon Trotsky to deploy the Red Army along the border with Japan and the E.A.S.T.P. and the Western Nations (West Germany, Romania, Finland). The first Soviet helicopter is created and flies very well. The Soviet Air Force orders thousands of this aircraft. The Soviet Air Force develops the MiG-1, while construction of a strategic air bomber capable of reaching Tokyo and Los Angeles begins. The T-56 is designed and the Soviet Army puts hundreds of these tanks on order. Despite tensions in the world, trade between nations continues, while all oil supplies drilled in the oil rich regions are traded between all nations, including non-Warsaw Pact members or supporters or allies of the US or Japan. Premier Trotsky asks to meet with the leaders of the three major powers to discuss nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, as well as human rights issues.
    • Jap Dip: The Japanese agree to the meeting. In response to the Soviet mobilization Japan orders all troops available to be on full alert along the Manchu-Soviet border and the navy to begin protecting Japanese national waters in the north. However, Japan requests that the Soviets remove troops from their common borders. In exchange, Japan will as well. It also offers a compromise on the Persia issue: Turkey withdraws from Persia and Japan will as well. In exchange, the Turks will face no opposition to their expansion into the Middle East. This way, a buffer between the EATSP and Soviet Central Asia can be established.

1955

  • Korea: Secret high flying surveillance aircraft begin research. However, it is still a long way off.
    • Japan Dip:Japanese blueprints on recent technological breakthroughs except the computer and the space program are given to Korea. Hirohito is in Seoul at the moment to give a public apology to the people of Korea.
  • Japan: Immediate mobilization begins as the troops in the reserves are built up and put on high alert in case the Soviets decide to cross into Manchuria. The Arisawa 55 is developed as a modified version of the Arisawa 50 to improve the rate of fire and reliability in all environments. Deployment of the new version is isolated to the I.S.R.F., the Imperial marines and commando units. The STG 55 is also released after testing as the new submachine gun and it is widely distributed along with the Tatsu machine gun. The new chopper is produced in larger quantities to help back up the troops. More and more of the Zero 22's are made and development of new bombers begins. The space program begins with the construction of the nation's first continental rocket in hope of having a weapon capable of reaching major centres in Central Asia if necessary. The satellite continues being constructed. The nuclear power plant continues being constructed and reaches the halfway point of construction. India is sent technicians and industrial engineers to help it industrialize. Emperor Hirohito begins talks with the Korean regime to give a formal apology to the Korean people for the colonization of the nation over two decades ago. Japanese forces active in South East Asia are mainly redirected to the north, and Manchuria begins mobilization along with the North Chinese Republic under Japanese orders. Elections are to be held in a year's time with the Liberal Coalition participating against the Conservative party and the newly founded workers party and the resurgent ultra-nationalist (who hold a very small minority amongst the elite of Japan); the Communists are still blocked from participating in elections. Japan proposes that Indonesia and Indochina be granted full membership in the EATSP. The expansion of the Imperial Airlines to include flights to the rest of the EATSP and to Hawaii begin. Production of hydrogen bombs begin to deter any other world power from war with Japan, a policy of usage of nuclear weapons only after being hit is put into place. Support for the Persians continues though it remains still only as aid and with the Japanese navy remaining on guard in the Indian Ocean. Construction of a new aircraft carrier begins. It is planned to be the largest in naval history, and blueprints for the construction of an island fortress are made but shelved due to other areas being prioritized by the high command. More newer submarines are put forward for construction using the improved Sonar and torpedos. Tonkin is placed forward to become a prefecture of the Empire like Taihoku. A request to the USA is made to increase cooperation across the Pacific and put aside the current rivalry for now. New gas masks are made to replace WW-II versions. The bio-warfare program continues in complete transparency and it is proved to be purely for defensive purposes without any intentions of making bio weapons. U.N. inspectors are invited to observe the program as well.
    • Indian Diplomacy: India would like some backing up by Japanese and other EATSP troops once it invades Pakistan.
  • Argentina: The last known rebel base is destroyed and many hundred are arrested for treason. From there, the resistance slowly died as the Chilean society began to see the impact on their lives. However, the guerrilla movement continues despite the government's best efforts. The loyal Chileans are allowed to join the military. The industry of Argentina also began to grow as the Chilean industry is fully operational and greatly improved. Paraguay is also aimed for invasion to protect them from the Communists. Brazil is asking for a joint invasion as the invasion could be made in no time. The fourth carrier is over.
  • Turkey: In response to the Japanese military buildup, the Turkish military begins a massive arms buildup of its own, using the resources of the conquered Greek, Bulgarian and Persian lands to fuel the industrial complexes needed for such an effort. The 2nd and 3rd Fleets are sent to the Indian Ocean to bolster the Turkish forces there and the Turks continue their drive to conquer Persia. The invasion of Bulgaria continues as the Bulgarian forces are pushed aside. In Syria, the Turks march across the country to bring the nation under the guidance of the Turkish nation. A SECRET message is sent to Japan detailing a list of requests Turkey is prepared to accept to avoid a war. The Turks will not march into India, and will limit their sphere of influence to the Greater Middle East. The rest of Asia is up for grabs for Japan and the Soviet Union as the Turks have no aspirations in that region. The Turks shall end all hostilities toward Japan, and promise never to use nuclear weapons on them at any time unless the need to do so is linked directly to the survival of the Turkish nation. And finally, a fifth of all oil supplies gathered by Turkey shall be exported to the Japanese nation for 25 years (1955-1980) at half price.
    • Jap Dip: Only the complete withdrawal from Persia will make the Japanese withdraw from the region. In exchange, we will not get involved in the rest of Central Asia as it would prove unpopular anyway with the Japanese populace and it is warned that Turkey can't directly threaten Japan while Japan can cause severe trouble to Turkey. As long as a free Persia exists we will not intervene farther beyond India.
    • Turkish R: We do have nuclear weapons, and we will use them if any Japanese force enters Persia, the gulf or the Middle East. It's still the 1950s, you don't have any long-range delivery systems to threaten a nation thousands of miles away from you yet. Any planes you send can and will be shot down if caught. ICBMs only come out in the early to mid-1960s.
    • I was referring to naval blockades, embargoes, covert operations, not nuclear war, just withdraw from Persia. You already have three world powers breathing down your back. You have a lot of land to play with. Also there is no way a Sunni nation can maintain control of Persia for too long.
    • Turkey had a larger population, industry and economy that Persia. And the UK isn't a world power as the algorithms and recent war have shown. Additionally, I have the Soviet Union on my side and Turkey is a major power in its own right. Plus, I have the religious support of the Sunni populations of the Middle East, who have traditionally despised and outnumbered the Shia Persians in the past and today (ever wonder why Saudi Arabia is opposed to a powerful Iran?) Plus, given that Pakistan and Afghanistan are Sunni states, why would they waste their money supporting a Shia nation?
  • In the US, President Stevenson agrees to meet with Trotsky and the Japanese. OTL Tsar bomb work continues. ALL FREE DEMOCRATIC NATIONS ARE INVITED TO JOIN THE GO-COLD, THE ATL NATO.. Meanwhile, the United States encourages Turkey to drop their war against Persia and the Balkans.
  • Brazil: We agree in a possible invasion later but currently our concern is the exchange of the gained lands from Peru to gain a coastline to the Pacific owned by Brazil from Peru. Until then, we will not join more conflicts. The buildup of the military continues while the fleet is continuously revamped. The Greek invasion and Persian invasions are condemned. Our support is shown to Bulgaria, our old ally. We will enter in their war against Turkey.
  • Québec- Now narrowly independent after the earlier public poll, founds a military of 8,000 people (mostly a navy) and joins the USA’s ‘GO-COLD’ pact. Hydroelectricity is slightly enhanced with Canadian help. A free trade deal is offered to the UK, France, USA, Canada and Greenland.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai releases the fifth issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square); Koishi, Kogasa and Miko leave Hanzhong Airport and begin looking around the city for more clues, though there don't seem to be many. Later, Koishi manages to find the last clue which leads to the hideout where Aya is hiding, which isn't far from the city. Soon Koishi, Kogasa and Miko finally capture Aya Shameimaru after a long battle and manage to turn Aya in to the police. In the end, Koishi, Kogasa and Miko does some sightseeing and such before finally flying back to Thailand. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction.
  • UK: We begin to push the Turks out of Persia and we begin Operation Desert Storm and it begins air raid and airborne drops on Turkey and our nuclear project is completed and test our first bomb. Does anyone want to join this map game Entente vs. Triple Alliance (Map Game)?
  • I think you should focus on rebuilding your nation before you decide to go to war with another nation. You were nuked a number of times, and you never rebuilt. You're Europe's equivalent of Somalia right now.
    • Québec D- Québec's forestry is enhanced and the wood is used in the new Quebec City paper mill. Large, but quantified amounts of wood, wood pulp and paper are offered free to the UK as humanitarian aid and as a reduced price gift to the USA in exchange for an alliance. Quebec likes life with both.
  • India: Money is poured into infrastructure projects all over the country. Many dams across the country continue construction. More are ordered to be constructed. The guns and their blueprints given by the Japanese are put to good use. Huge factories built begin to produce the guns from the blueprints and many thousands are produced and supplied to the army. More fertilizer is given to farmers, and when their crops are harvested they fetch a high price on the international market. Spices production is given a lot of importance and is still sold in thw world with huge profits. The country, sensing the situation in Bengal deteriorating, sends troops into the area. Tanks also begin to be manufactured after blueprints were given by the Japanese. Soon, Indian armies will be able to become world class. India starts up its own jet fighter, receiving no help from the outside world.

  • Québec- The Québécois nation still shares the Cn$ within Canada - a united currency. Hydro-Québec plans the Manic-5 Daniel-Johnson Dam, which is slated for building between 1959 and 1969. The Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park along the Malbaie River, is created. The slowly growing mining town of Fermont, Côte-Nord is a centre for iron production. Smaller amounts of gold, iron, copper and zinc are produced in other places nearby. Nickel is found in the Otish Mountains, but not exploited yet. Canadian Malartic and Malartic Goldfields open a moderate gold mine near the Malartic town in southwestern Quebec. Québec’s forestry is slightly enhanced and the extra wood is used in the other new Quebec City paper mill. The government of Québec offers some food and material aid to the UK (wood, wood pulp, paper, moose steaks and reindeer steaks are offered).
The Corvette ‘Quebec City’ is layed down and is a upgrade of the OTL American [Bathurst class corvette] and will be made in six months time, but 11 others are in the planning and will be made by 1965.
  1. Landing craft- Château Frontenac, [USS Marion County (LST-975)] (layed down and set to sail in 1956.0)
  2. The Coastal minesweeper- Hyper-style [Kust mijnenveger M-856 Beemsterklasse] (layed down and set to sail in 1956.5)
  3. Patrol vessel- Francophone [HMCS Cougar (Z15) beam] (to be layed down in 1956.5 and set to sail in 1957.0)
  4. Corvette- Malbaie River- [BRP Quezon (PS-70)] (to be layed down in 1957.5 and set to sail in 1958.5)
  5. Corvette- Malartic [BRP Rizal (PS-74)] (to be layed down in 1958.0 and set to sail in 1959.0)
  6. Corvette- Le Québécois [BRP Rajah Humabon (PF-11)] (to be layed down in 1958.5 and set to sail in 1959.5)
  7. Landing craft- Château Frontenac [USS Marion County (LST-975)] (to be layed down in 1959.5 and set to sail in 1960.0)
  8. Amphibious force command ship- Cabine téléphonique Canadien longue portée [USS Mount McKinley (AGC-7)] (to be layed down in 1959.5 and set to sail in 1961.5)
  9. Corvette- Offensive côtières du Québec [HMCS Renard (S13)] (to be layed down in 1961.0 and set to sail in 1962.0)
  10. The fleet food supply ship- Navire de ravitaillement alimentaire marine [Japanese food supply ship Nosaki] (to be layed down in 1962.0 and set to sail in 1963.0)
  11. The frigate- Steak knife, which is an upgrade on OTL S. Africa's [HMSAS Natal IWM FL 16706] (to be layed down in 1963.5 and set to sail in 1964.5)
A dozen Martin B-57 Canberra bombers, H-19 Royal Canadian Navy type transport helicopters, Republic RC-3 Seabee patrol craft and Grumman F8F Bearcat fighters are made. 20 Sherman tank copies are also made. The Québécois nation chooses to use the US dollar ($) as its currency and wants to join up to the USA's GO-COLD group.
  • Korea: Korea continues the development of a high altitude surveillance plane. The military stops their expansion, as they have reached a comfortable amount of strength. New technologies also continue to be developed. The Mirae Corporation’s new branch which specializes in cars is a huge success, with their stocks increasing almost 500% in three months. Mirae cars sell as fast as they are built - and they are very cheap. The economy improves dramatically with the advent of Mirae, and exports also pick up. They ask for trade deals with the United States and the Soviet Union, which they hope can be two of their biggest importers. Nuclear energy also begins development, as a way of harnessing the incredible energy of nuclear weapons for energy purposes. The current nuclear stockpile reaches 30 weapons, with ten being low-yield and ten being one MT. The rest are in the middle. The third aircraft carrier finishes construction as well, and is named the ROKS Silla. Research also commences on advanced multiple stage delivery systems for the nuclear weapons, as well as submarines which can carry nukes. Work also commences on a nuclear powered submarine.
  • Argentina: The interior continues to be improved and the military grow with many Fascist supporter in the Chilean zone. The Chilean resistance goes farther down and many in the countryside and the city continue to see the good side of the annexation. The government declares the fleet is the biggest in the southern hemisphere. The jet engine is almost ready to be produced in series.
  • The United States: continues to build up the military and such. Quebec is given the offer to become a US state, protectorate, commonwealth or to use the US dollar ($) as its currency. All democratic nations are invited to the GO-COLD, especially India and Pakistan.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai begins writing โทโฮไคคิดัน 2, which is a sequel to โทโฮไคคิดัน. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction.
  • Turkey: The Turkish government orders the suppression of the Persian rebels in the conquered territories, and secretly permits the usage of nuclear weapons if the rebels are not suppressed within the alloted time period. The government shifts a force of 230,000 troops into Persia, with additional recruits making their way into the nation both to continue moving the Turkish border westward. The Turks in Bulgaria continue their invasion with renewed vigor, and in Syria, the Turks make their way farther south. The nuclear arsenal is expanded and plans to develop a jet fighter for the air force is underway.
  • Japan: The Japanese government hopes to solve the situation in India and Persia seeing as Japan's greatest threat lies in the north. The Japanese forces remain on high alert ready to act the moment they are ordered. The navy is fully ready to begin counter-offensives in case a war does break out with several Zero 22's already in service and more on the way. The construction of the continental rocket continues but won't be ready for several years. Two aircraft strips are made in Manchuria, along with three military bases to house the troops stationed there. A uniform based along modern lines is made which includes a gas mask, and a new vest which is made of fibre-reinforced plastic and nylon and contains pieces of metal in it. This sparks the interest of military researchers who think that a more efficient material can be used and their funding is granted by the high command. The new bomber designs are still underway. The new uniform is black, green or white depending where the troops are stationed and includes the National flag on the right shoulder and a helmet. Looking to bring all of East Asia into the EATSP, Japan begins supplying arms to a group of nationalists in Burma who are planning a coup to bring the nation into a new era. Japan hopes to use this group to make Burma into a new member of the Asian alliance. The ultra-nationalists, hoping to retake power, launch a coup against the Diet. Unlike the one that removed the Ultras from power 20 years before this one is a spectacular failure and the group is forced into exile to the United States or to the Rump Chinese Republic. The space program continues with the satellite nearly completed and ready for launch by 1957 ahead of schedule. The power plant in Tokyo is nearly completed and it will begin operating in late 1956. Japan supports the Indian government should Bengal attempt to gain independence. Japan is willing to dispatch troops if necessary, since Japan has one of the most efficient armies when it comes to Jungle warfare thanks to its experience in South East Asia and Southern China. TVs start becoming more popular as they are made cheaper now and with more to see but still remain something for the upper or middle upper class. The fight clubs in the underground continue to grow and many fighters from around East Asia are attracted to the matches. The new Aircraft carrier will be ready by late 1956 and it is considered far more efficient the previous designs. Thoughts about a nuclear holding sub are made but put on hold for now until the new rockets - now called missiles not to get mixed with the space rocket program - are completed and perfected. The bio warfare program continues and it is expanded to the rest of the EATSP to help better protect the troops and people of East Asia from Biological threats. The program is put under direct Government control and its headquarters are split between Hokkaido and Tonkin representing the two harshest environments in Japan. Usage of computers for military usage continues and three more are made for the army to store and distribute data. A low salary soldier who works in the facility that makes the Computers discloses the creation of such a device to an American journalist who publishes the story at once, but no details were given since the trooper had no knowledge of how to use the machine. The production of nuclear weapons continues with a stockpile of some hundred or so weapons in existence at this point. Weapons and funds are continuously sent to Persian soldiers and rebels using India as the point to send them. Hirohito moves on to visit Siam and talk with Japan's oldest ally in the region.
  • Is this global event [1] and the 1950 nuclear war on the UK cannon?90.244.91.81 16:34, October 26, 2012 (UTC)
  • Don't think they are. At least the nuking isn't.
  • The global events are.
  • Global Events: The Bengal area of Western India, largely populated with Muslims, begins to rebel against the Hindu-majority-based government. They want their independence with NO bloodshed at all, or as AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. A revolution takes place in Persia and a new Sunni faction (secretly funded and supported by Pakistan and Afghanistan) takes power and begins to crack down on Shias and rebels. They also begin a big fight back against the Turks, and they are extremely strong. Meanwhile, the conquered Balkan states each declare independence one by one, but Greece enters a bloody west-east civil war. The east seeks aid from the US and the democratic capitalist nations, but the west wants aid from .... the JAPS! Why? Because, the Japs are believed to be more technologically advanced than the Russians. Meanwhile, civil war opens in Spain as Republicans and Royalists attempt to depose Franco from power. Looks like victory is going to the Spanish Republic - based out of Barcelona.
  • This is canon, as I, Scraw, am a mod. Paks are not warring with India, so they have money. Afghanistan did not go through several recurring periods of turmoil, so they have money too.
  • UK: The army links up with Persian rebels and we begin the final push to drive Turkey out of Persia and we join the GO-COLD group.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union, seeing war with Japan both costly and not popular, decides to withdraw soldiers from the border, and asks Japan if the two great nations want to form a large-scale demilitarized zone between Japan and the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, research continues on all "modern" technology, particularly in both social and military life. With the reforms passed by Trotsky, the economy continues to do well. The Soviet Union begins to prepare to test a nuclear weapon of 50 MT (Tsar Bomba) in the Siberian Tundra. Mass production of helicopters and jet fighters begin, after the first two prototypes of the two new technologies are a success. Meanwhile, the people of Mongolia, Latvia, The Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbajian, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Belarus, and Estonia are given autonomous territory, to help stop any separatist groups from forming. In Poland and East Germany, the nations hold a referendum whether to join the Soviet Union directly, remain independent, or become an autonomous territory. The two nations vote to remain independent. Premier Leon Trotsky asks the President of the United States if the US is interested in uniting Germany as a single, neutral, nation.
    • Jap Dip: The government, seeing the Soviets back down, begins to slowly relax the mobilization to a halt and troops are withdrawn from battle positions. Japan will lower the number of Japanese troops along the EATSP border with the Soviets but refuses to establish a demilitarization zone for reasons of national security.

1956

  • Korea: Korea continues to research the high altitude surveillance aircraft. Nuclear research also continues, as does submarine research. Rocket research continues as well. Hopes are made for a rocket in space by 1965 although that remains very optimistic. Meanwhile, mining continues in the northern sections of the country, and exports continue as well. A secret biological weapons research facility is also opened.
  • Japan:The military begins withdrawing from the common border with the Soviets and the navy returns to its passive position. Japanese citizens breath a sigh of relief having averted war and the government gains a boost of popularity for their handling of the crisis bring Yamamato and the liberals into their second term in the Diet after the elections. The Construction of the power plant continues and it nears completion. The construction of the nation's first continental missile continues. The distribution of the new uniform continues with many orders coming in. The site of the Japanese troops in their new war uniforms is a sight to be hold as they do a military parade through the streets of Tokyo. The naval units in the Indian Ocean are ordered to begin blockading Turkish ships that enter the Indian Ocean but not to fire on them. This is a way to pressure the Turks into backing down now that the USSR has agreed to avoid conflict with Japan. The biological warfare prevention continues and all research it devolved to the public health system to help them prevent outbreaks of bio-contaminents be they man-made or natural. Improvement of the computers begin. An APC design is made and it begins to be tested. The Zero 22 is mass produced now along with the choppers and the creation of new long reach bombers continues. The military continues to fund the nationalists in Burma to bring the nation into the Japanese sphere. The construction of the satellite continues along with the building of the rocket that will be launched next year taking a dog into space. The violent underground fights continue to grow and the police start taking notice of the growing practise along with other bad habits that are creeping into the Japanese underground including illegal brothels, growing casinos, and human traficking the problem of the underground is brought up in the Diet and plans are started to take care of the matter. Emperor Hirohito reaches Tonkin where he will rest for a few weeks before entering Siam. A group is detected within the fringes of EATSP. China of a series of local warlords, and para-military groups that are gaining influence, plans to mobilize the troops in China again are made should the local Chinese loyalists prove incapable of handling things. Meanwhile, new laws are passed to ease the worker's life and provide much needed regulations and benefits. The economy is still dominated by the Zaibatsu, but newer corporations begin appearing that challenge their dominance in East Asia, most of which are mixed companies under both Japanese and local funding including the new Jakarta oil in Indonesia which has 40% local funding and 43% Japanese and 17% western investment. This company is looking to exploit the large oil reserves in Borneo to compete with the massive earning of the Sumatra based companies, and plans to invest in the Middle East are also made - mainly Persia once it is liberated - and possibly Africa in the unforeseen future. A modernization of the rail lines begins to make electricity to cut back to improve performance and cut back costs.
    • How can Japan have ships in the Persian Gulf if Turkish ships were already there to begin with? My ships had to cross the Suez Canal, while yours had to travel all the way from the Yellow Sea.
    • I have at least a third of the navy active throughout Southeast Asia and near India. From there it's not hard to reach Persia and the Indian Ocean. Either way, I've changed it to the Indian Ocean, OK? but remember the Japanese are active throughout the Pacific and South Asia so it's not hard to reach Persia.
  • Cuba: A revolt in Cuba occurs due to the large amount of Communists. On March 12th, El Capitolio in Havana is heavily damaged with bombs. While the initial blast did not do much damage, the fire gutted the building and caused the collapse of part of the dome and west wing of the building. Riots break out before long, protesting the ineffective government.
    • Soviet Dip: We accept.
  • Turkey: The Turks continue their invasion of Persia (since the rebel event was not permitted by a mod), and push onwards to Pakistan. The Turkish military research of jet engine technology is nearly completed, and a breakthrough is expected near the end of the year. Development of rocket technology begins to keep the nation ahead of its rivals and prevent itself from being outgunned. The invasion of Bulgaria is ended with the defeat and occupation of that nation by Turkish forces. The Syrian war also draws to an end as the Turks cease their military operations there. The navy develops its fifth aircraft carrier and positions it in Latakia at the head of the 6th Turkish Fleet. The 2nd and 3rd fleets are positioned in the Persian Gulf to prevent piracy and any foreign attempts to interfere in the region. The military secretly builds a second invasion force in Istfahan for another planned invasion that has yet to be decided by the government. Construction on a nuclear power plant in Ankara is underway with planned completion for 1959.
    • Independent of the event, you still lost the algorithm. You're getting beaten back, Turkey, and you're now fighting international forces that were sent by the U.N. in accordance with the resolution. In other words, if you continue you will be at war with the world.
      • Technically no, since Québec and posibly Cuba, Argentina and Brazil are still non-combatants as far as I can tell.90.244.91.81 16:48, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
        • Indeed. And take a look at the algorithm. Turkey and the Soviet Union won. We didn't lose. ~Viva
  • France: Accepts all offers from Quebec and is happy to be reunited (diplomatically) with a former French colony. Accepts the invitation from the US. Decolonization begins to take hold in the country and all colonies are promised independence in the near future. Meanwhile, France condemns the actions of Turkey and joins the United Kingdom in any operation they conduct. Nuclear tests in the Sahara continue.
    • Turkish Dip: The Turkish government demands that France remove their forces from Persia and cease their nuclear tests, or Turkey shall bomb their troops and possessions in the region.
    • French Dip: (As AP-- First of all, no one knows about the tests). The Turks are in no place to make such demands. Conventional missiles pale in comparison to France's nuclear missile arsenal. Moreover, we have no troops or possessions close enough for you to target with conventional missiles. The age of Imperialism is over, your thinly-veiled plan of recreating the Ottoman Empire will fail miserably.
    • Uh, to be honest, you really should have been here for the whole game. Viva has improved and is being plausible for once.
  • Québec: The Québécois nation chooses to use the US dollar ($) as its currency and accepts the USA's invite to join the GO-COLD group. Radio Television Quebec/Radio Télévision Québec is founded. Black and white TVs start becoming more popular as they are made cheaper now and with more to see on the TV channels too, but sets still remain something for the upper or middle upper class but radios are common in upper and middle class homes. Iron hydroxide pollution is a small problem by many iron mines in Fermont on the Côte-Nord. Some small shale gas and shale oil reservoirs are found on the border of New Brunswick. Hydro-Québec confirms its plans out the Manic-5 Daniel-Johnson Dam, which is slated for building between 1958 and 1969. Québec agrees to have the American Dollar ($) as its national currency. Québec's offers of a trade deal and alliance with France and the USA are taken up.
  • The Diesel-electric attack submarine Renard [USS Wahoo SS-238] is to be layed down in 1960.0 and set to sail in 1961.0.
  • Seven ferries, three oil tankers and six bulk cargo ships are laid down and will be completed by 1960.0. A few more Martin B-57 Canberra bombers (eight), H-19 Royal Canadian Navy type transport helicopters (20), Republic RC-3 Seabee patrol craft (ten), Grumman F8F Bearcat fighters (ten) and US F-86 Sabre fighters (19) are made. 20 copies of the OTL American M-26 tank and ten Sherman tank copies are also made. 1,000 more personnel are recruited and trained up for military service. President Henri Claude Lapize admits to having mild [oral Gingivitis]. He also wonders if the provinces of East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and Zanjan could form an Azeri neutral free state in northern Persia and possibly Kordestan province do likewise for the Persian Kurds to its southwest. Grains, fruits, cotton, rice, nuts, and tobacco are the staple crops of the region. Turkey is right about Shia/Sunni location thing[[2]], but we would like to be neutral on the issue, but still push for an Azeri free state. 90.244.91.81 07:51, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
  • Is this global event [3] and the 1950 nuclear war on the UK canon? I think the UK was only threatened, but it did not actually take place. If it did, then the government of Québec offers some free food and material aid to the UK (medicine, clothes, bricks, and yet more wood, wood pulp, paper, moose steaks, elk steaks and reindeer steaks are offered). 90.244.91.81 07:51, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
  • It is anything but canon.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction.
  • Argentina: The interior continues to be improved and the government continues to strengthen its hold on Chile by building coast batteries on the Pacific coast. The USA and Brazil are asked for a joint intervention force on Cuba before the Communists fully take over the island. The creation of a nationalist Cuban government is also proposed to make Cuba a strong ally after the war. More invasion and false proofs are prepared. The military continues to grow with a new generation of assault guns and a new light tank. The jet engine is nearly stabilised and is planned to be really completed next year.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union continues to SECRETLY supply Turkey with food, medicine, ammunition, mechanical parts, and most importantly, oil, to help fuel the Turkish war machine against the Western Imperialists. Meanwhile, Premier Leon Trotsky gains popularity for avoiding a direct war with Japan. Added with his economic and social reforms, make him a powerful leader in the world. A 50 MT bomb is detonated in the Siberian Tundra, which is observed by the Soviet High Command. Meanwhile, the Soviet Navy deploys submarines to prey on Persian shipping across the globe. Spetsnaz Units are SECRETLY deployed into neighbouring Romania, and the nations of West and East Arabia and Egypt. Oil production and exportation continues, which keeps gas prices in the Soviet Union down. Research continues on a bomber capable of striking Tokyo, Beijing, Mumbai, Paris, London, Anchorage, Los Angeles, or any other major city in Western Europe or the North Pacific. Meanwhile, Warsaw membership offers are sent to West and East Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Liberia. Military and economic support is sent to the Communist Cubans.
  • Québec Diplomacy: President Henri Claude Lapize wonders if the Persian provinces of East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and Zanjan could form an Azeri neutral free state in northern Persia. He raises the issue in the UN and asks the USSR, USA, Turkey and Persia for their opinions on it. It would act as a buffer state against any further conflict in the region.
France resigns. Wow it must be a record as to how quickly I've left a game. I refuse to play a game in which the user Vivaporious (for the UMPTEENTH TIME) implausibly expands his nation.

AP (talk) 20:21, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

  • The United States completes its first far range nuclear missile. From New York it could hit Helsinki. President Stevenson is reelected with John F. Kennedy as his Vice President. The United States proposes to the UN that Persia be broken up into three or two states after the war to prevent acts like this in the future, as well as stripping Turkey of lands in the east.
  • Mexico, devastated by the war with the United States, begins to rebuild its economy and infrastructure. It joins the GO-COLD.
  • Yugoslavia: Yugoslavia becomes Communist and asks to join the Warsaw Pact and asks to use Soviet weaponry for our troops and we begin to build an Empire we invade Albania as our first target.
  • Brazil: We ask America to force Turkey to withdraw all troops in Europe and Persia, in continuation we ask Peru to make a new treaty in which you gain your lost lands and we a Pacific coast (Pita you should make an RNG please), Brazil agrees the joint intervention from Argentina, Brazil and USA. Military is built and the fleet is built, in other news the extraction of magnetite starts and militarily an old idea resurges, the Gauss Cannon. Scientists in Rio de Janeiro secretly begin work on a magnetic accelerated weapon for the Brazilian navy. Despite several issues, the technology seems promising and despite several failures within a year a special sniper rifle is developed, mainly to be used against the Communists in the jungle. The project remains a secret and development of anti-IR weaponry with Gauss systems starts to be used in possible future conflicts (It's possible it's been done before with a chaingun by 1934), Brazil would like to purchase Suriname from the Netherlands for an acceptable price (another RNG) Brazil ask Argentina to join them in a Secret (Gauss cannon) Project known as Projeto fogo de ceú.
    • I think Guass Cannons are a no no - LOL.
    • IDK, one was done OTL in 1934 so I think it should be possible though I expect it could take five to ten years into a functional one, so it's up to you. I want a nuclear-like project and this is the closest thing without nukes Sine dei gloriem (talk) 22:32, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

1956.5

AvARe 1956

1956.0. The proposed Kurdish and Azeri nations outlined in a grey-blue border.

  • What happened to my territories in Greece, Syria and Bulgaria?
  • Fixed it in Syria and Bulgaria. I am confused over cannon in Greece.
  • Korea: Korea continues to research high altitude planes as well as additional nuclear technology. They condemn the Turkish invasion of Persia, and requests they withdraw out of Greece. Meanwhile, it sends advisers and engineers over to India in order to help them with the building of their military.
  • Japan: The Japanese Forces begin once again anti-insurgency actions along the border with the rump Chinese republic and plans are brought up to put the Chinese state in chaos to secure the Chinese States under Japanese influence, members of the I.S.R.F. begin covert operation to destabalize the state and pin it on fellow Chinese within the republic while the government promotes a reapproachment policy in public between Chinese and Japanese, using the now stable and recovering states it created in the aftermath of the Sino-Japanese war as an example of this policy. The last of the Yamato class battleships are decommissioned and new battle cruisers and the new destroyer designs are put foward to replace them using the latest technology including new conventional missiles in development by the military missile and space program. The nuclear powerplant in Tokyo is finished and commercial usage begins. Research into microwave amplification begins by the Tokyo University (prototype to the laser, designed in 1953 in OTL but incapable of continuous output) the military takes a great interest in the project. The new bombers continue to be designed and will be ready within a year. The space and missile program continues with progress. The funding of Burmese nationalist continue and the I.S.R.F. begins preparing the group for a coup next year, which they will participate in. A new type of music influenced by western jazz begins to appear in Japanese cities. Laws are passed in an attempt to break the growing probem in the Japanese underground and a stricter protocol is adopted to support transparency and stop corruption in the police force. A final warning is issued to Turkey before the navy begins taking other measures. The APC designs are finalized and testing begins. All other projects are continued. Support for Indian industrialization continues.
    • Turkey R: The Turks will never leave, and laugh at the fact that the murderous Japanese demand they withdraw from Persia while the Japanese continue to squat on Chinese land.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Québec: Some railway construction occurs. Hydro-Québec begins building the Manic-5 Daniel-Johnson Dam, which is slated for completion between 1967 and 1968. Long term plans for three geo-thermal generation power plants will be developed, too. Agriculture and telecommunications are improved in rural places. Québec offers an alliance to the Dominican Republic and a trade deal to the Dominican Republic involving exports of cheap clothes, bricks, hard wood, wood pulp, paper, moose steaks, elk steaks and reindeer steaks in exchange for Dominican Republic coconuts, copra, bananas and palm oil if the Dominican Republic wants it to go ahead. Two general cargo ships and five metal ore cargo ships are laid down and will be completed by 1959.5. More naval craft are planned and made. The four fast attack craft Iroquois, Cherokee, Cree and Innu [Jaguar class fast attack craft] are to be layed down 1957.0 and set to sail in 1958.0. President Henri Claude Lapize wonders if the Persian provinces of East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and Zanjan could form an Azeri neutral free state in northern Persia. He raises the issue in the UN United Nations (Axis vs Allies: Revolutions Map Game) and asks the USSR, USA, France, Turkey and Persia for their opinions on it. It would act as a buffer state against any further conflict in the region. A trans-national Kurdish state is later proposed at the UN United Nations (Axis vs Allies: Revolutions Map Game). Tobacco, grain, fruit, cotton, rice, nuts, and tobacco are the staple crops of the region. Turkey is right about Shia/Sunni location thing[[4]], but we would like to be neutral on the issue, but still push for a Azeri free state. The River Nile-2 (talk) 02:24, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
  • Cuba: On September 8th the leader of Cuba is assassinated. The Parliament of Cuba runs the country, though it is largely ineffective. Communist forces are initially strong in Santiago de Cuba especially, though they become more powerful in much of Eastern Cuba by the end of the year than they were at the beginning of the uprising.
  • Argentina: An intervention against Cuba is prepared and a task force began to be built, but during the time that the process happens, weapons begun to be secretly shipped to the government along with an invitation in the Latin America confederation which would allow our forces to move in. The interior continues to be improved and all houses across the nation now receive fresh water and every village at least has basic education. This led many Chileans to accept the new order. The USA is asked to join Brazil and us in an intervention against Cuba to protect the real government.
  • Turkey: The Turkish military makes a number of major breakthroughs in jet propulsion technology, and the government commissions the creation of a number of jet prototypes to replace the old turbine engine air force. The nuclear arsenal is expanded to deal with the Japanese threat, and plans to cooperate with the secret Soviet attempt to construct a long-range bomber are initiated. The navy is put on high alert to deal with any attempts by the Japanese to invade Persia. Meanwhile, the Turkish government approaches the Iraqi nation for a possibility of uniting the two under a single government.
  • Yugoslavia: We ask Turkey for our land that was lost in the war with Greece, and we annex Albania. (RNG; 1-7 no, 8-10 yes: 9 yes)
    • Turkisk Dip: We have no problems returning the land of an old ally. On another note, you need an RNG to annex Albania.
    • Yugoslav Dip: We say thanks and we supply you 300,000 troops to help in Persia.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union continues to support Turkey and the Cuban rebels. Research continues into all modern technology. Sputnik I is launched into space, becoming the first Soviet satellite in space (Only a quarter of a year earlier than OTL). The Soviet Air Force begins to design a new jet fighter aircraft, while research into the high-altitude bomber begins. The Soviet Union sends request to Romania and Egypt (RNG, please) to join the Warsaw Pact.
  • Yugoslavia Dip: We ask to join the Warsaw pact.
  • Soviet Dip: Welcome.
  • Québec Diplomacy: Québec once more offers an alliance to the Dominican Republic and a trade deal to the Dominican Republic involving exports of cheap clothes, bricks, hard wood, wood pulp, paper, moose steaks, elk steaks and reindeer steaks in exchange for Dominican Republic coconuts, copra, bananas and palm oil if the Dominican Republic wants it to go ahead. As things develop in Cuba, Québec says it’s not interested in the Island nation, but offers an alliance to both Haiti and Iceland, along with a trade deal like that one for the D.R. (Iceland can replace th cocanuts and bananas with granite, stone and wool). Can an RNG or what ever be done for each of the three nation’s alliances by a mod. Got it. Iceland, no to all; Haiti, yes to all; Dominican Republic, no to alliance, yes to trade offers.
  • The United States offers to buy Newfoundland and Nova Scotia plus PEI since they are isolated from the rest of Canada. This will also help the UK pay off its debts. Meanwhile, the dog Lassie launched into space. VP Kennedy gives a speech and he says that "Iron Curtains have fallen in Europe, between democracy and Communism, and in the Far East, between Communism and imperialism and imperialism and democracy, setting off a new war; a Cold War; not a war of bloodshed and killing, but of an arms race, and a technology race, and an influence race. A war of hostility." The OTL Tsar bomb equivalent, called the Revolutionary, is tested in the deserts of Arizona. The Mexican territories are admitted as states. Meanwhile, interventionary troops are deployed to Cuba, and offers the young African nations aid. America also decides to aid the Greeks asking for help. Some troops are deployed their as well, as well as supplies being sent.
  • Global Events: Revolution opens in Syria and Transjordan. Gammal Abdel Nasser comes to power in Egypt. He refuses the Soviet offers (RNG, 1-4 yes. 5-10 no, 7) and decides to remain independent of foreign powers. He seeks to unite the Middle East as one nation. Meanwhile West Arabia unites with Yemen, and Adel and Oman declare independence from Britain. East Arabia annexes Oman. In Greece, civil war begins to die down, thanks to US support. India accepts independence of Burma and Bengal. The Sultanate of Bengal is established, a Muslim nation. The first Sultan, Mahmud "the Great," asks alliances with Persia, Pakistan, West Arabia, and East Arabia. Burma asks to join the EATSP. The Republicans in Spain defeat the Royalists and now have a large capacity to fight Franco and his government. Madrid falls. Spain moves the capital farther south towards Granada. Meanwhile, in Ireland a Communist revolution starts.

  • Korea: Korea continues to research high altitude flight, as well as faster-than-sound flight. Hollow point bullets also begin mass production as the army's standard bullet. High explosive rounds are also distributed to tanks and the increasingly effective anti-tank missiles. Space flight also continues research, although it takes a lower precedence.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai is finished writing the first issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2 and will it be released sometime mid-year. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Argentina: Mexico is offered support to rebuild itself. The Cuban crisis makes the people push for an intervention to prevent a Communist takeover and kills their leader to prevent more revolution across Latin America. The USA is asked for support in an intervention in Cuba or at least covert at the United Nations. Chile is now almost fully linked to the Latin American railroad network. The Cuban fascists (think that there is a lot?), are supplied with weapons and supplies to oppose the Communists and, if possible, take the head of state.
  • The Fascists aren't really that big any more.
  • Cuba: The Communist party grows as the old Cuban government is seen as inefficient. Due to charismatic leadership and careful word choice by the leaders of the Communist party, they've captured the hearts and minds of many Cuban civilians. Martial law is declared. Fighting intensifies with no sign of slowing down. The Communists gain ground and are knocking on Havana's door by June.
  • Québec: Québec offers some free food and material aid to Mexico (medicine, clothes, bricks, hard wood, wood pulp, paper, moose steaks, elk steaks and reindeer steaks are offered). We create five new state run firms controlling all assets left over from former Canadian state assets left in Québec after separation, its own national assets and any future developments by Québec.
  1. Cabine téléphonique Canadien de longue portée- Rural and international phones.
  2. Cabine téléphonique de courte portée Québec- Urban phones.
  3. Comité des Transports Québec État- All major public transport on land, sea and air.
  4. Comité Québec métro train- Trams and underground trains in Quebec City and Montréal.
  5. Le Comité sur les services de distribution du camionnage et du carburant- Trucking and fuel distribution services.
Six more Martin B-57 Canberra bombers, 22 H-19 Royal Canadian Navy type transport, five Republic RC-3 Seabee patrol craft, five Grumman F8F Bearcat fighters and ten US F-86 Sabre fighters are made. Military aircraft production its finished. 12 M-26 tank and 12 Sherman tanks also made as tank production ends. 500 more personnel are recruited and trained up for military service as recruiting nears its end. Three jetliners based on the De Havilland DH 106 Comet are rolled out in Montréal airport. A steel mill and blast furnace open in Québec City.
Quebec would like to buy the five small, but strategically important Canadian islands (Mansel, Charles, Akpatoc, Resolution and Button) that lie off its coastline to aid navigation and reduce naval litigation over issues of fishing rights, due to the confused nature on the nation’s de facto coastlines. Payment to the UK will be in 6,000 tons of iron ore and 1,000 tons of wrought iron ingots. The Iron would be handy for the UK’s arms and reconstruction programs.
  • Iceland: We request that the world allow us to expand exclusive fishing rights to 12 Nautical miles outside our territoral waters. Our economy is based almost entirely on fish and overfishing has resulted in depleted stocks. We face economic collapse. (I'm Serious!). The government starts Project Baldr, a shake up of the energy supply, ordering the construction of Geothermal power plants. A review of the Coast Guard is ordered.
  • Game Events: Warman555 is banned for one week for switching his nation from Britain to Yugoslavia, a non-existent country, while playing France at the same time. David, welcome.
  • What the hell, I wasn't playing two nations at the same time
  • Then why was there a post for France and the non-existent "Yugoslavia" at the same time?
  • That was my retarded cousin. Sorry, guys
  • Sure it was.
  • Global Events: Nasser seizes the opportunity. In the name of "stabilizing" the country, he invades Transjordan. Both sides, drastically weakened, accepts the occupation. Nasser proclaims the United Arab Republic. He asks foreign powers to recognize his new nation and files a UN resolution/request. Meanwhile, Britain agrees to sell the outer provinces that are isolated from Canada for 6.7 million pounds. (RNG: 1-3, Yes. 4-10, No. 2.) In Ireland, the Communists gradually overpower the Republicans. The two sides agree on ceasefire. The People's Republic of Ireland is proclaimed. It asks to join the Warsaw Pact. Meanwhile, in Spain, the Republicans destroy the fascists. The Republic of Spain is pronounced. It joins the GO-COLD.
  • Japan: The Japanese Navy blocks the red sea preventing the usage of the canal by Turkish ships though all other national ships are allowed to pass, the number of ships in the Indian Ocean are increased. Military covert operations continue in Free China and the destabalization of the state continues. The Coup is cancelled in Burma with the current government asking for entry to the EATSP but the support of the nationalist faction continues with hopes that a strong anti-Communist government will be established. Emperor Hirohito falls ill to Malaria and is rushed to Tonkin for medical treatment since in tonkin the bio program based on jungle diseases is there. Prime Minister Yamamato gives a speech to the entire nations over radio and for the first time on Television about the current world situation: " my fellow country men we live in an increasingly volatile world where the Communist threat and the remnants of western imperialism threaten what we have created, in these times Japan and its allies must stand strong in the face of these threats and move towards the future, While we must stand strong, Japan must avoid conflict where necessary and promote Asian ideals through diplomacy and trade more then through aggression." The usage of the power plant in Tokyo is expanded as 9% of the cities energy is now provided by the plant, the success of the plant pushes the government to fund the creation of more power plants throughout the country. All research programs are continued and Japan is the second nation to launch a sattilite into space after the Soviets the previous year. plans to send the first living being into space by next year are put forward with the construction of the space rocket nearing completion. several flaws are notioced in the Arisawa 50 and 55 so plans to develop a new assault rifle with a bullpup mechanism to create better manuerverability and efficiency but this is giving low priority in front of other major projectys the Mitsubishi ATS 57 is released (an APC) and it is slowly beginning to replace the previous model. The long range bombers near completion. The research into microwave amplification continues. The remodeling of the navy continues with the reconstruction and modernization set to be completed by 1964. General economic growth continues.
    • Turkish Dip: The Turkish government has announced that it doesn't Persia, and will withdraw in return for Japan's non-interference with Turkish matters in the future.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The government accepts the Turkish proposal and Japan begins preparing to withdraw from the Western Indian Ocean within the next year.
  • Québec Deplomacy: News from the UN on Québec's on two resolutions. United Nations Resolution 0004 on the South Azari homeland has been passed, but United Nations Resolution 0005 over Kurdestan is still being debated. Quibeck suggests that Turkey’s Adıyaman Province and Malatya (which produces 80% of the world apricots harvest) will be retained by Turkey as will the ethnically Turkish coastal provinces, but Turkey must guarantee a Kurdish road or rail corridor to a Kurdish owned dock or wharf at the Black Sea port of Trabzon. This corridor and dock are non-negotiable and mandatory.
  • Turkey: The Turkish forces in the Red Sea threaten to blockade the Suez Canal and prevent any trade from passing through it the Japanese do not vacate the region. Refusal to leave will refuse in Turkey dismantling the canal, and preventing anyone from using it. Additionally, Turkish naval forces in the Persian Gulf block the Straits of Hormuz, preventing the oil from the region–some 25% of the world's oil, from exiting the gulf. Turks state that they will allow it to flow once the Japanese leave. Turkish forces move into Lebanon to occupy the country in an attempt to bring it back into the Turkish nation. A secret delegation is sent to the Soviet Union to discuss what they are to do next. In the field of technology, the first Turkish jet fighter is completed.
    • The United Arab Republic threatens to declare war on Turkey should it dare to trespass on international rights to the Suez Canal.
    • Turkish R: Our great nation isn't afraid of Egypt. If Japan refuses to remove itself from international trade lanes, then they and yourself should not be surprised if we response in such. But we will not harm your precious canal. But know that we will be watching you closely.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Japanese is in this for the long haul, we purchase oil from the states and from Southeast Asia mainly so the Turkish threats aren't much of a threat. Japan promises support to Egypt should it face problems with the Turks.
    • Icelandic Diplomacy: As a seafaring nation we are irritated by the actions of both the Japanese and Turkish navies in presuming to blockade the Seuz canal. We call on both sides to talk rather than fight, and stress that 'No nation has the right to interfere in international waters without the agreement of the International Community'. However we agree with Japan in every respect regarding the withdrawal of Turkey and the creation of a Kurdish state and if war becomes enevitable we shall give Japan our full support, on the condition it maintains the Just_war_theory (Particualy Jus in bello).
    • Read I said only blocking Turkish ships not other nations ships. Japan
    • Noted. Same conclusion. It is INTERNATIONAL. Turkey is a recognised state. David Rain (Sometimes...) (talk)

  • Nile, please stop screwing with the map. If you need to add those Azeri states, edit this map. Don't mess with India or the southern Middle East. Currently those are my project area. Also, Republican Spain won over. I quit, you should do your own maps rather than wait for others to do them.
  • ...That's what I said. I do the original map, and you do the corrections. Simple.
  • Global Events: Gammal Abdel Nasser secretely asks Turkey to leave Syria, since it is in revolution, and secretely promises to supply Turkey if it invades Iraq. Nasser pressures free southern Syria and West Arabia into his republic. He moves the capital to the former Transjordanese-Arabian border, to be centrally located. Meanwhile he prepares to invade Libya, but offers it the option of joining the UAR. Meanwhile in Ireland, the North Irish republicans, feeling threatened between the GO-COLD influenced UK to the north, and the Communist South Ireland to the South, it asks to join the Japanese group and South Ireland wants to join Warsaw Pact. In Argentina, Chile declares its independence from the Argentinians. Qata joins East Arabia. Sudan gains independence, as well as French West Africa and Algeria, France and Spain sign an agreement that allows French Morocco, Spanish Morocco and Spanish West Sahara to unite under the single banner of the Kingdom of Morocco. Spain join GO-COLD. Kenya and Tanzania gain independence as the East African Union.
  • Québec: Electricity distribution systems are improved in rural places. Everyone except Canada, the USA, Iceland and Greenland's colonial master, Denmark, are to keep away from Greenland, which is in our 'back yard'. Québec promises to recognise Iceland’s claim to more fishing grounds. Resolution 0005 is passed for creating a Kurdish state. It will come in to effect in the Iranian, Iraqi and Syrian sections of the proposed nation. Turkey must guarantee a Kurdish road or rail corridor to a Kurdish owned dock or wharf at the Black Sea port of Trabzon. Noting the pending global crisis Québec hurriedly builds 6 basic coastal attack diesel subs (Claude, Claudia, Claudette, Rochelle, Steve and Claudia) [HMS Undine (N48)]. 500 troops are recruited, bringing recruitment to an end. The final 2 war vessels the coastal attack diesel sub Mort aux idiots [HMS Alliance (P417)] and ocean-going attack diesel sub Philippe [MS Tireless (P327)] will be layed down in 1962 and launched in 1963. Rochell is sent to protct Iceland and Steve is sent to protect Haiti.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai is releases the first issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2; Miko, Koishi, and Kogasa go to Pattaya and meet คอนปาคุ โยวมุ (Khxnpākhu Yowmu, Konpaku Youmu) who gives them another case to solve, this time following a bizzare automobile thief who steals newly imported automobiles; they go, and Miko manages to find a first clue, a spell card. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • 'Québec: User quits due to mod opposition to the creation of a Kurdish and Azeri nation the UN has passed. Quebec becomes a member of the commonwealth and goes pink like Canada. The global events are a bit ASB to.
  • What? All I said was that your map was wrong. I explicitly asked you to add the Azeri states to the map.
  • Japan: Japan, having secured its second political victory in the cold war, begins withdrawing the navy from the west Indian Ocean to bases in Indonesia, Indochina or back home to the homeland. The research into all previous projects are continued and Japan tests its first conventional missile which breaks up after 40 seconds and more testing is needed but the test is considered a success. Japan seeing this as an opportunity to gain a new ally in the world signs an alliance treaty with North Ireland but can't make it a member of the EATSP due to the alliance being only a regional one bent on avoiding western imperialism. Hirohito's condition improves after being medicated but his body is greatly weaked by the bacterial attack on his body. However, he refuses to stop his travels and decides to visit Indonesia before returning to Japan having finally made a compromise with the Diet to not go outside of Asia. Production of nuclear weapons continue and some are handed over to the navy for "defensive measures" should the occasion occur where they are needed. The expansion of the rail lines throughout the EATSP continues and permission is requested to expand the rail lines into Siam and Korea to connect the entire alliance. A hit movie comes out named "Lost in Hindi Land". It is about a member of the I.S.R.F. who is stranded behind British lines in the former British Raj and is forced to do what he can to survive even murdering the locals who he was sent to aid in their independence. The soldier eventually reaches the border of friendly Siam where he receives treatment and eventually stays with a local. The movie gains large popularity due to the huge suspense and drama the movie carries and because it deals with some very uneasy areas of morality. The movie is sent

overseas by its producer to see if it gains any popularity abroad. A few computers are sold to major corporations who use them for storing data.

    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri agrees to the rail expansion and allows it.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Japanese government, as a thanks to the years of Thai cooperation and the longstanding military alliance, decides to open the Tonkin facility to Thai researchers and gift two computers to Siam, too, with what they please as long as the computers remain in government hands for the next five years without being distributed on a commercial level.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri happily thanks them and promises to keep the two computers in government hands. She also sends some Thai researchers to the Tonkin Factory.
    • Jap Dip: The government sends a technician who will help the Thai learn how to use the computer and the Researchers are welcomed into the Tonkin counter Bio-warfare medical facility.
  • Soviet Union: The Soviet Union welcomes South Ireland into the Warsaw Pact. Meanwhile, the USSR SECRETLY suggest to Turkey to finish up in the already invaded state, divide them up and integrate them into Turkey. Meanwhile, the test of its first missile is somewhat a success, making it up in the atmosphere, but breaks apart and lands in field outside of Moscow. Research continues on all modern technology, including computers, while Soviet Spetznaz are sent to Chile to help support the Chileans against Argentina. Soviet Spetznaz inside Cuba continue to support the rebels against the government.

1958

  • Korea: Korea continues to research future tech of warfare. High altitude, supersonic flight continues development, as well as cheap bulletproof vests. Meanwhile, the interior is improved, and trade continues as well.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai writes the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished. Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri and the government cabinet learns more about the computer and they are impressed by it and some also love it.
  • Argentina: Do not accept the Chilean separation and invade with the new goal to reverse the government to create a nationalist anti-Communist puppet regime which will join the Latin American Confederation organisation. The Chilean coast is entirely blockaded and the army of Argentina launched a massive assault against the nation. A lot of research programs are started to develop our version rocket. The first reliable jet engine is developed and a new generation of aircraft began to be built to eventually replace the older.
  • Brazil: After several years and several attempts to made a deal with Peru, Peru seems to find no political adequate for the land exchange between Brazil and Peru. Brazil offers a last exchange with half of the gained lands from Peru, to gain a small access to the Pacific Ocean in the west, the project Fogo de Ceú continues being produced, and Argentina is again offered joint help to develop it. While Rio de Janeiro remains as a primal central city in the south, the president seeks to build up a new capital expected to be called Nova Arcadia a few km west of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil begins industrialization and Portuguese is beginning to be taught to the taken areas of Colombia and Peru, the fleet is re-updated and the ten carriers are fully done and owned by the Brazilian fleet.
    • 'Argentina: Aaccepts to support the Brazilian project.
    • Ten is a bit too much, more like three or four.
  • Turkey: Turkey launches its invasion of Iraq after failing to woo the state into a peaceful union (no RNG, go figure). 175,000 troops from the Persian provinces are sent into Iraq to enforce the annexation of the nation. A delegation is sent to Eastern Arabia to secure a deal with the king there for a political union (RNG 1-7 no, 8-10 yes; 3 no). ((ლ(() (ಠ益ಠ) ((ლ(() 15:29, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
  • Japan: The Empire begins turning its eyes to the Philippines, Hong Kong and Malaysia the last areas in Southeast Asia that aren't in the EATSP and the government moves its special operations to the last British Colonies in East Asia and to the island nation, supplying weapons to nationalists and right wing groups within the territories, Japan demands that The British Empire grant independence to its remaining East Asian colonies. Troops continue their black ops missions in free China to further destabilize the region and the help fund a group known as the Black Tiger which is a stout anti-Communist group while they keep an eye on its leader, who the high command doesn't trust. Research into all previous projects continues. A second conventional missile is tested and it hits the land but it misses its target. Japan has finally created a true missile but it is inaccurate at the moment. The Missile is called the HK 1, and production will begin once an accurate system is designed. The first animal will be sent into space at the end of the year. Thanks to the permission of the Siamese government, Japan expands their rail lines into Siam connecting the two lines. Investment into the Indonesian economy is expanded.
    • The United States asks Japan to stay away from the Philippines, a US state.
    • Japanese Dip: The Japanese government reminds the USA that they granted the Philippines independence in the 1930 & apos's (I think, anyway not sure if you did though) but would be willing to back away from from the region (since it has little economic importance.) as long as the USA agrees to the island area being a neutral nation outside of American and Japanese influence, since Japan doesn't like the idea of dealing with the other two would powers so close to the homeland. In exchange Japan will promise not to intervene in the Philippines.
    • No, I made them a state in the 30s. Anyway, letting states go or giving them independence is sadly against our Constitution.
    • Jap Dip: The government of Japan will agree to withdraw their influence from the Philippines as long as it is the will of the islanders and under the condition that no nuclear missiles or large amounts of troops be stationed on the islands. Final offer of Japan.
  • Iceland: Project Baldr continues. We aim to be self-efficient by 1965. We really must stress action by the international community requarding UN resolution 0007. We send an offer to Denmark, stating that, when our economy has strengthened we would like to buy Greenland. (RNG 1-7 No, 8-10 Yes: 8). They accept this proposal, but say the price must be decided nearer the time (and that it will be high). We condemn the Turkish invasion of Iraq and send aid. We ask Turkey to recognise a charitable act, and not to harm our aid workers, who are all civilian volunteers. The Icelandic Coast Guard begins a process of modernisation.
  • Cuba: On April 8th, the Communist forces in Cuba have finally won the long war. The Cuban Revolution is over. The old, ineffective government is replaced by a Communist government. Alliances to the USSR and other Communist nations are offered.
  • The United States publicly denounces the Cuban Communist government. Several refugees flood Florida, including a young man named Fidel Castro. More missiles are built. The new Azeri and Kurdish states are recognized and openly welcomed into the UN. A new Progressive Party is formed from disillusioned members of the Democratic and Republican parties, as well as several third parties. It gains a large minority in the Senate, although not in the House. Four states also elect Progressive governors.
  • The Soviet Union accepts the alliance from Cuba and offers them to join the Warsaw Pact. Meanwhile, research into all modern technologies. The Soviet Union begins developing new military designs, including the T-62 MBT and the MiG-2. Work begins on missiles, missile silos, and missile mobile land launchers. The Soviet Union continues to support the Chileans and Turkey, while the United States is approached with a proposal from the Soviet Union to reunite East and West Germany under one government and becoming a neutral nation.

1958.5

  • Korea: Korea continues to research the high altitude surveillance plane, and the research is starting to bear fruit. However, it is still years away from a prototype. Several War Plans are created- including War Plan Red (war with Japan), War Plan Yellow (war with Manchuria), War Plan Green (war with Siam), and War Plan Blue (war with the USSR). They are constantly updated. Meanwhile, Korean advisors and engineers continue to help India and Manchuria in technology and tactics. The Soviet Union is also requested to sell Korea some MiGs.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: Taking a gamble, the Japanese government offers to supply a computer to the Korean government along with data on the recent advances in nuclear technology, in exchange for full transparency in military and political matters between Seoul and Tokyo, and the recent advances made by Korea in high altitude planes.
  • The Soviet Union continues research into all modern technology and the first high-altitude jet bomber prototype is designed. Construction on nuclear missile silos in the Far East and the Russian Province of the USSR, as well as radar along the coast and borders. Two War Plans are developed - War Plan Pink and War Plan Red. War Plan Pink is war with Japan, while War Plan Red is war with the United States or GO-COLD. The Soviet Union agrees to sell MiGs to Korea. List of nuclear targets are drafted by the Soviet High Command, including Tokyo, Mumbai, Rome, Frankfurt, London, Washington D.C., New York City, Los Angeles, and other major cities and military bases across Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, and South America.
    • The United States demands to whether or not it is true that the Soviet Union's KGB trained Ludwig Kershner and Harold Rosser to assassinate the two Presidents of the United States, Henry A. Wallace and Adlai E. Stevenson II.
    • Soviet Dip: A KGB Spokesman announces that the KGB had trained the two Germans, but never ordered them to attack an American president.
    • You don't get it. You're not supporting the Nazis, the Nazis are really KGB agents.
    • There. I fixed it. Let's see how the Cold War goes from here.
    • All right then.
    • The United States is still suspicious, but accepts the explanation.
  • The United States continues to research into farther-than-present long-range bombers as well as lunar technology. The first man is put into lunar orbit. He be Alan Shepherd. He be hailed as a national hero. Wernher von Braun dies. President Stevenson is assassinated. Currently the successor to a series of dying presidents, new President Patrick F. Kennedy (OTL John F. Kennedy) launches massive large scale investigation. Ludwig Kershner, the assassin of former President Wallace, is found to have been in the training of the Soviet KGB. President Kennedy demands answers. Now with the Soviets openly a threat, America drafts a plan for war against the Soviet Union. Nicknamed "Operation Red Command" by the high-ranking military officials tasked with completing and fulfilling it, the real War Plan Star and Sickle details invading the Eastern Soviet Union via Alaska, although primarily through air force, by bombing (not nuclearly) Vladivostok, obtaining Japanese permission to sail in its naval space, launch a landing on Vladivostok, and moving inwards. However, really important part is the Western Soviet Union. The WPSS requires an invasion of East Germany and Poland simultaneously through West Germany, while the Navy invades the Soviet coastline in the Baltic. War Plan Emergency Red, however, demands the nuking of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, and several minor locations where radiation will spread fast. WPER, though, is for and only for application in the case the Soviets either: A: Strike first, either by invasion or bombing. B: Strike first, via nuclear weapons usage. OR C: Use nuclear weapons in/during the/a war.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: Japan would agree in case war breaks out but refuses to allow nukes to be used near Japan out of fear of fall out, and Japan would be forced to enter the conflict to protect its borders and national security
    • Remember folks, this is secret diplomacy between the United States and the Empire of Japan. The United States agrees, and asks Japan to agree vice versa.
    • Japanese Dip Japan accepts.
  • Argentina: weapons and fund are send to the opposition in Cuba in the hope that the Castro regime will be overthrow, also, all diplomatic relation are cut. The Communist infiltration in America make the government order a expansive military build up. The invasion of Chile continue with most of the nation occupy. Argentina begun to develop a larger submarine fleet. The USA and Brazil are offer to form a pact to prevent more nation on the continent to fall to the Communists.
    • The United States accepts. BTW, Cuba is controlled by Che Guevara. The Castros ATL were anti-Communist and campaigned for democracy in Cuba.
  • Japan: Shocked by the American launching a man into spae before them speeds up preparations to send a man into space as quickly as possible so not to fall behind in the space race. The Government supports the creation of a plan to fall back to in case war breaks out though Japan hopes for otherwise, and the security of Indonesia and Manchuria are integrated into the Japanese security policies due to their importance to national interests. The research into all previous projects continue with great progress, a breakthrough is made in bio-studies by accident when a virus is mutated while trying to create an anti-body to protect against it. This prompts the Diet to create a sub-division based solely on genetic research. The Mitsubishi T-58 (longrange heavy bomber) is created and production begins. Tonkin is officially made a prefecture of the Japanese Empire and full rights are granted to all living in the new national territory.all civilians that live on a permanent basis within Japan and have jobs and have learned Japanese are now eligible for citizenship. The Japanese government authorises the increase of spec ops taking place in Free China and Malaya and Britain is pressured further to grant independence to its remaining territories. A new chopper design is made that will be for assaults only and not for transport and the current choppers for transport will be changed in the future for more efficient designs. economic deals continue to be made with fellow EATSP to increase economic interdependency and co-operation between the states, Siam and Korea are offered the same deals. Hirohito makes a full recovery though he is still very weak from months of being ill. The naval reconstruction continues as the new aircraft carrier the Shogun class is made to start replacing the old design and the Zero 22 is made in larger amounts. Crackdowns on the Japanese underworld continue and tougher laws are passed including forbidden civilians from keeping firearms, to preserve public safety and order. A new exchange program is started between Japan, Indonesia, Manchuria, and Indochina, and Siam and Korea are invited to join it as well, along with the USA to teach the west about Japanese and Asian society. other contingency plans are made for different nations and to deal with possible insurgencies in the EATSP testing into missiles continue and distribution of the current conventional missile ythroughout the navy begins with silos and rocket launchers started to be constructed a new anti-tank weapon is also put forward for design. nuclear plant sites are choosing in Taihoku, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Satsuma for new powerplants, and more nuclear weapons are made.
    • The United States joins the exchange program.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri agrees to also join exchange program, and accepts the deal.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Cuba: Reparations from the war are made. As more of the infrastructure is rebuilt, jobs are created, putting many Cubans back to work. The military is expanded. Meanwhile, Cuba accepts the Soviet offer to the Warsaw Pact. Argentina is denounced for attempting to overthrow a country that presently means it no harm. Communist sympathizers in Mexico and areas of Mexico that the US stole are supplied.
  • Italy: Italy is nearly complete on its nuclear bomb research. Quebec is asked for a trade and military alliance. Military and economic buildup continues.
  • Iceland: Project Baldr Continues. The new Exclusive Fishing Zone (EFZ) comes into force as per UN Resolution 0007. The Government sets up the VERT (Volcanic Eruption Response Team) to deal with any eruptions in the future. Danish say that the price of Greenland as $21,660,000 ($10 per sq km).
  • Turkey: Turkey continues on with its invasion of Iraq, and once again approaches East Arabia with an offer to join them (RNG: 1-7 no, 8-10 yes; 6 no). Elsewhere, the Turks secretly fear the power of a long-range bomber and surveillance plane under development in the United States and Korea, and launches their own shadow project aimed with developing technology to get to the moon by 1965. Additionally, plans to develop an ICBM are underway at a secret location in the nation. The government also secretly commissions the development of virus bombs.
  • All of these are implausible for Turkey right now. I'll give you some appropriate dates.
    • Lunar landing (man or machine): 1980
    • ICBM: 2000
    • Virus bombs: 1965
  • I suppose that is fair and reasonable. Sorry for the implausibility.
  • No problemo. So long as you understando.
  • Lucky me, I possess the largest and most productive anti-biowarfare and chemical warfare program. XD Nkbeeching

1959

  • Sorry - wanted to start next turn. If this isn't OK, just erase what I put. Nkbeeching
  • Japan: A wealthy Japanese living in Manchuria writes a paper about there possibly being oil in Manchuria as well as other reserves throughout Japanese influenced China. (Look up oil reserves in China and when they began exploitation in OTL is right on time. Though I won't exploit the coastline for at least 20 years due to the difficulties of making offshore extraction facilities) . The government and army, hungry to open up new oil extraction to ease the Indonesian oil industry, become interested in the idea and so do the Zaibatsu, but the army backs the initial finder and helps him start up a new company - "Manchu-Japanese Oil Inc." and provides specialists for the company to look into the possible reserves in Manchuria. A deal is made with the Manchu government to make the company a Japanese-Manchurian one giving earnings to both countries. All research projects continue and the first phases of the microwave enhancement proves that the project, while promising is a dead end, but provides the foundations for the start of research into lasers (started in 1957 in OTL). Refitting the navy continues and the Shogun class aircraft carriers are in production. A proposed Joint Japanese-American naval exercise is proposed off the coast of the Marshall Islands (Japanese territory since we never lost them this game) as a measure to secure Japanese and American newfound cooperation. The bullpup mechanism proves extremely effiecient and a gun based on this design is started to be made. Japanese industrialism continues to grow with the continuous inflow of resources from East Asia and the open market for Japanese goods within its allies' nations. The Golden Age of Japan is declared in a series of newspapers. Hirohito returns to Japan still frail and continues his post as the head of state of the empire of Japan. New car designs are made, produced by Japanese corporations. Japan decides it's time to share its technological advancements with its allies in Asia - with Indonesia, Siam and MAnchuria being the largest recipients of the gifts. Pressure on Britain continues to liberate Malaysia.
  • Argentina: After a small rest, the troops began to push farther in Chile. In occupied areas, the known opposition members are arrested and send to Patagonia where re-education camps were built to brainwash the opposition and in the case of failure, make them disappear. The government of Chile is offering to surrender to avoid any further damage to their land. Research to improve the civilian and military technology continues and education becomes free and more money is put in it in the hope that the schools of the nation become the best in Latin America.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Japanese government makes an offer to Argentina hoping to improve relations with Latin America. It offers the government aid in its research projects and offers to aid Argentina to suppress the Chilean insurrection under the condition that Chile becomes a puppet state or is granted full autonomy within the Argentinean state, and that Argentina return to democracy and moves away from the dictatorship that has ruled Argentina for the past two decades. If these conditions are met Japan will aid Argentina. If not, Japan will simply turn its eyes away from the matter and all chances for there to be better relations between the two states will be lost.
    • Argentina Dip: We will think about adopting your alliance system as it was successful and we have the same goal as you.
    • Chile is already independent as the People's Republic of Chile. Argentina should not be invading, as Chile has protection of both the US as an American nation and the Soviet Union as a Communist nation.
    • I accept the Soviet explanation but the US and I had a deal. In addition, a Communist state would not be supported by the US, at least surely not in the Americas. Take OTL Cuba.
    • Oh, right. Still, no invading Chile. Chile is independent. No more imperialism.
  • The United States continues to explore modern nuclear technology, as well as space things. Plans for a probe to Mars begin, and a man on the moon is predicted by or before 1965. President Kennedy announces his plans to run for elected President next year. Progressive Senator Nelson A. Rockefeller declares that he intends to be the first candidate for the Presidency from the new Progressive Party. Meanwhile, President Kennedy accepts Japan's offer of the naval exercises. The Mexicans and Canadians gained territories are accepted as states. The flags goes up to having 56 stars. Meanwhile, the government plans referendums in Puerto Rico and the Pacific territories for statehood or remaining in current status.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The government thanks the USA for its participation and the first joint Pacific execise is held on june 5th with mild results but with the Japanese aircraft and navy leaving a strong impression on the US navy and vice versa setting off a something of a friendly rivalry between the two national navies.
  • Iceland: On the 1st of January, and with appropriate solemnity Greenland is declared Icelandic Sovereign territory (subject to contract).
    AvARe Flag of Iceland-Greenland Proposal

The proposal of Scrawland Scribblescratch. Consider me just as Alfred Tryggvi Anders Anton Wolff. Or Anders Anton Wolff is you prefer.

A week of celebration is declared. The government is reorganised to include Greenland as an equal part. Elections will take place every five years. With The first election results though, the country's political stance has moved to socialism. A competition is held to see who can design the best flag for the new union. The results will be announced soon ... In other news, the Government expands and re-equips the Icelandic Coast Guard, renaming it the Union Naval Corps. Project Baldr continues.
  • Can we (the players of the game) submit flag design ideas?
  • Yes. A merging of flags would be nice.
  • Hear ye, Scrawlandad's Proposal.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Korea: Korea continues to research experimental technologies. With the new MiGs provided by the Soviet Union, the Korean Air Force continues to train with a vigor.
  • Turkey: The Turkish government secretly moves funding to a railgun project to bolster the fighting power of their troops. Turkey approaches the East Arabians a third time with proposals to join their nation to Turkey (RNG: 1-7 no, 8-10 yes: 8 yes). The Turkish invasion force in Iraq continues onward, and begin constructing a pipeline to reach Antioch to export their oil supplies to Europe.

1959.5

  • Korea: Korea continues to research experimental technologies, focusing on high altitude flight. MiGs begin to be produced in Korean factories, and a new version of the R-22 tank comes out for the army as well. The Korean Marine Corps is also formed, along with the Korean Paratroop Corps.
  • Turkey: The country's jet propulsion research pays off with the development of the Mirage IV strategic bomber and deep-reconnaissance aircraft, and is to go into full production in 1960. Additionally, the nation's radar system is completed, with full coverage from Greece to the Caucaus Mountains. The development of new military technologies remains the country's number one priority.
    • Icelandic Diplomacy: We would like to buy five Mirage IV's from you. Price open to negotiation along with a promise that they will not be used against you unless you threaten Icelandic interests.
    • Turkish Response: We accept the request, and the five Mirages will be shipped to you in 1960.
  • Iceland: Renames itself the Norður lýðveldi (North Republic). Project Baldr continues. The new flag is displayed (Thanks to Scraw). Project Baldr continues. Kalaallisut is given the status of a second official language, all children will be taught to speak it. A new university is opened at Ilulissat (The Ilulissat Instiute of Technology; IIT) specialising in science and engineering.
  • You're welcome. ~ S
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Argentina: Continues its research, the jet continue to spread in the air force and many new helicopters begun to be design. The government began to democratise the nation to gain some reputation, elections are prepare and are to occur in one year. However, the Communist parties are still forbidden. The opposition in Chile began to be found in the hope that the regime will be overthrown.
  • The Soviet Union launches a man into space, but is still determined to reach the Moon before the US or Japan. Meanwhile, a strategic bomber capable of reaching close or trans-Pacific cities and military bases is developed and mass production continues. Helicopters are improved as are jet fighters. Submarines continue to be the primary force of the Soviet Navy, with the capable of creeping up on an enemy coast fire its 24 nuclear missiles, before returning to the Pacific Ocean. Spetznaz are sent to Chile to protect the Chilean Government from the Argentines, as well as picking off political opponents that threaten the Communist Regime in Chile. The Soviet Union offers Turkey and Chile to join the Warsaw Pact, which would help strength the effort against GO-COLD and EATSP. The Soviet Union begins to fund Communists within Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. The Soviet Union begins to place nuclear weapons in East Germany, Poland, the Far East Provinces, and SECRET requests are sent to Cuba, Chile, and Turkey to allow the placement of nuclear weapons within their respect territories. Develope of an high-altitude surviellance plane begins. Radar is improved, with the coverage of the Soviet Union, parts of Turkey, Eastern Europe, and parts of former China along the border. The radar can detect nuclear missiles or planes launched from the United States, GO-COLD, or Japan and the EATSP almost instantly, giving the ability to strike back with full force.
  • The Soviets are lagging in the space race behind both America and Japan. You'd have to wait until 1967, plausibly. There are no Communists in Mexico which is in GO-COLD.
  • Okay.
    • The United States demands that the Soviets withdraw from Chile, as it is in violation of the Monroe Doctrine. The United States and Argentina (which is NOT, I repeat, NOT invading Chile) and Mexico will stop at nothing to enforce this.
    • The Soviet Union will withdraw, for the sake of world peace. Also, we would like to propose a START treaty, to limit nuclear weapons between the two superpowers.
    • We do not invade Chile, we are only discretly supporting the anti-Communists, we have no soldiers behind their frontier and we are at peace.
    • I know Argentina's not invading Chile. I'm talking about picking off pro-democrats in Communist Chile.
    • Oh.
    • The United States agrees to the START program and suggests that we include Japan in on this.
    • Jap Dip: The Japanese will also sign the treaty and reminds the USSR that Japan is also a super power (maybe not in terms of land, but we are on the same level militarily, and economically, a bit more advanced technologically in certain areas and we have large influence in East Asia and access to enough resources through mutual trade deals with the puppet states I have created over the past few decades allowing me to sustain my growth and maintain my place as a world though, I'll admit, without the EATSP Japan would crumble)
    • Soviet Dip: We thank the US and Japan for agreeing to the START Program. We also apologize for forgetting that Japan is a superpower.
  • The United States continues to expand its space programs and nuclear weapons technology program. The people working on the nuclear missile program develop a plan to put missiles into orbit, from which point they can arbitrarily destroy enemies at will before they see them coming. After running it by President Kennedy, he agrees to do it. By 1963, the United States will have nuclear missiles orbiting the Earth, ready to fire at will. The NASEA also comes up with the idea of a space station. America asks Japan if it would be interested in a joint effort to build a space station in orbit around the Earth. (Think of it as the ISS, but really the American-Japanese Station.) Meanwhile Barry Goldwater announces his plans to run for President. Pundits expect a very tight race. A new supercomputer is built by the IBM Company, and it is a bit smaller than existing supercomputers. IBM announces plans to make computers so small, people can use them at home for personal usage. They call these "personalized computers" or PCs for short. The first PC is planned for 1968.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: Japan accepts the American offer with the hopes of beating the Soviets in the space race. Japan proposes a formal American-Japanese Alliance to finalize and make official the friendship between the the superpowers and isolate the Communist block and avoid a large war. Japan shares its plans for war with the Soviets should a war break out - something Japan hopes doesn't happen. Three computers are given to the USA as a gift of friendship.
    • The United States accepts everything and asks if Japan would be ready to join into one bloc with the US and GO-COLD. (Essentially, the EATSP would be come an important regional part of the GO-COLD, or at least a total ally of the GO-COLD.)
    • Japan Dip: While thankful for the offer, Japan believes that a third independent bloc is necessary to keep the world balanced and since there are high tensions between Japan and several of the European allies of the USA (for plain to see reasons, since Japan in less then 30 years Japan has led the collapse of the European Empires in East Asia - something I'm quite proud of XD) but a close alliance between Japan, its allies and the USA and allies can be assured along with great cooperation between both blocs.
  • Japan: The military begins going through reforms to improve performance and the ability to react in times of conflict, the structure and chain of command are decentralized though the high command still retains absolute authority in the name of the Emperor. All units are granted the ability to act according to their judgment in war times as long as they respect the ideals and authority of the command, Diet and the Emperor to improve efficiency. The navy continues going through reformation and upgrades with the missile finally installed as a weapon of the navy. The problem with accuracy has finally been fixed. Japan sends a man into space for the first time merely weeks after the Soviets and Japan have finally reached space. The papers have a field day over the event and Sato Mayagi the astronaut is declared a national hero. The Diet wishes to speed up the space program and get a man on the moon by 1963 independent if the Soviets or Americans get there first, with the intention laying the flag of the rising sun on the moon. Research into missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads begins and silos are built within the empire of Japan. A new anti-tank launcher is made and testing begins, bullpup research is completed and a prototype gun is made (it is similar to the OTL British L64/65 but with a longer and curved ammunition box, and a larger aim) and initial testing begins. Widespread export of the Arisawa 50 has begun to groups in Africa and to The fellow members of the EATSP as part of the general improvements of the armed forces the NTO 52 (tank) is improved with a new barrel, turret mechanism and ammunition to improve over the already efficient tank. While still lighter and with a bit less armor then the American or Soviet tanks, they are far quicker, mobile and pack an equal if not stronger punch then their counterparts. Also, the military begins making designs to replace the old chopper with newer ones with specialized roles, one for transport of troops and supplies, another to carry large payloads of vehicles and another for assault. Research into all current projects are continued and more projects into experimental technology are began. The plans for a possible war with the USSR are finalized called " Operation Blood Tides". Due to the largely defensive nature of the plans, with the initial stages being the securing of the Russian eastern coastline and neutralizing all their capabilities to use either aerial or naval units in the Far East. This would be followed by a land campaign to secure outer Manchuria and Mongolia to protect the economically critical Empire of Manchuria from as much harm as possible. This would be accompanied by mass mobilization of Japan and its allies to force the Soviets into a stalemate and a cease fire. The Japanese high command, unlike 20 years ago, is fully aware that an all-out war with the Soviets and attempting to make push through Siberia would be suicide. All the defences would be supported constantly by artillery and air forces, nowhere in the plans are nuclear weapons mentioned because the high command considers the usage of nuclear weapons now to be a defence only and as a last resort or once Japan has received a nuclear attack. The statistics of an all-out war with the Russians are gruesome and too high for the liking of the high command but in comparison to the numbers made for an assault pushing to the Urals are far higher. Exploration of Manchuria begins to find out whether or not the oil reserves there are worth the investment. The exploration will take at least a year to determine the results but already the stock market in Tokyo is anxious to start buying stockholds for Manchu-Japanese Oil Inc. On a social level, Japanese people live happily in the open democratic society that has been forming over the past 100 years and in a public speech Yamamoto says the following "today we live in the country our compatriots envisioned in 1868 with the finalization of the Meiji Restoration, here we stand - successfully free from Colonization, a world power, a massive economy, allies across East Asia, and growing friendship with the Giant across the Pacific. This was the will of the people in 1868 and it is the will of the people to this day. Hail the Emporor and a free and proud Nippon." When he finalizes his speech the crowd shouts in applause and across the country the growing number of TV users watch the speech. Crackdown against crime continues and the influence of Yakuza groups are greatly curtailed but in Japanese China (the coastal cities Japan annexed after the war with former China) crime is at its climax with a series of gang wars between the traditional Chinese Mafia and the growing number of Yakuza moving away mainland Japan is brewing. The gun prohibition hasn't been enforced yet in the Imperial territories outside the Prefectures yet so many violent street fights have erupted, the government begins plans to create a special division of the police force to deal with these and similar problems instead of relying on the army to do so. A cultural revival also begins but it is moderate since many western customs have been accepted and embraced by Japan. Japan proposes that the EATSP be restructured into the Community of East Asia (C.E.A.). The bio program is integrated into the national medical program completing the transfer from a military program to a civilian one, and a Bio-enginerring division is created. Japan at the moment has the most advanced biological program in the world (and let's face it, it's true. I've been researching bio-technology since the Sino-Japanese war.) Japan decides it's time to force its hand in Malaysia. It pushes the group it's been backing for years to declare outright independence and it supplies it with all the firepower necessary to complete this action. On the international Stage, Japan demands Great Britain accept Malay independence and withdraw from East Asia as a whole including Hong Kong which will be ceded to the Nanjing Regime since it's one of the Successer states of the ROC. (Need two RNG's since there is no player for the UK)
  • RNGs: Malaysian Independence is a yes. Hong Kong is a no.
  • OK - I'll see what I do about Hong Kong in the future. That colonial territory is a complete thorn in my side XD. Nkbeeching
  • I really want to see where this game goes and later on let's see if it's possible to continue the game beyond 2012-13. Nkbeeching

1960

  • Korea: Korea continues to research experimental technologies, focusing on high altitude flight. MiGs begin to be produced in Korean factories, and a new version of the R-22 tank comes out for the army as well. The Korean Marine Corps is also formed, along with the Korean Paratroop Corps.
    • Japan Dip: Japan proposes the restructuring of the EATSP into the Community of East Asia. Japan also requests Siam join the U.N.
  • Italy: The Italians declare war on Turkey and begin an invasion of Turkey. This includes 400,000 troops, 400 tanks 900 aircraft and 3000 artillery guns
  • Implausogasmismasm.
  • WTF? I declared war on Turkey to help Iraq.
  • Numbers?
  • Argentina: Continues to research civilian and military programs. Everywhere throughout the nation television, cars and other devices continue to grow in number. The aerial crane began to be used in greater numbers in the industry. Many new parties are created while the elections are prepared. Among them is the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party and the Nationalist Party - which is the current ruling party's new name. Despite having done bad things, many persons continue to see it as the better government - as the nation's industry, economy and standard of life has been greatly improved. The rocket technology continues to be researched.
  • Don't forget the Radical Party. They were a party founded before the 1920's.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2 and will be released mid year. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
    • Japan Dip: Japan proposes the restructuring of the EATSP into the Community of East Asia. Japan also requests Siam join the U.N.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri agrees with the restructuring EATSP into Communist of East Asia. She declines joining the UN, as the Thais want to stay out of that organisation.
    • Japanese Dip: The government will accept the Siamese Reservation and will speak for Siamese interests in the United Nations.
    • Listen, you can't continue staying out of the UN much longer. Other than Africa, you're the only nation not in it. You'll be downcast by the entire globe, and international protection will not be awarded to you.
    • I'm fine on my own, thanks. I really don't want to join the UN at all.
    • Exactly. You're letting your own personal views get in the way of effectively playing your nation plausibly. Which is not very plausible.
    • I know. Okay, how about Siam joins the UN in 2002, similar to how Switzerland join the UN in 2002 OTL.
    • Actually, if Switzerland was able to remain an important nation in the world without being a member of the United Nations, Siam has every right to do the same. Switzerland joined with a little under half of the voters against it. It was a narrow vote. If the voted failed to pass, the Switzerland would still be sitting outside of the UN today, and still remain an important, highly respected European nation; not a downcast country by the international community as you claim. So it is indeed very plausible for Siam to not join. ~Viva
  • Japan: Exploration continues and the results are proving to be quite promising; the exploration will be over by next year and construction of facilities will be able to start immediately afterwards. The energy sector of the stock market is scrambling for a shot at the shares, Japan makes sure that only Asians within the EATSP are able to purchase the shares, and the nation remains ever so wary of the northern border. Troops are put through training to keep them in fit condition for war. Japanese rush into the newly independent Malaysia where they work out a deal with the new state: Malaysia will become a federative Kingdom and will receive aid from Japan to build up its economy and armed forces but under the conditions that the territories that Britain incorporated into the colony from Siam be returned to Siam and that Singapore become an autonomous region within the kingdom under Japanese protection, allowing the Empire to build a naval base on the very important city giving it access to all of East Asia now. Malaysia is granted entry to the EATSP as a junior member and Burma is officially accepted as well. Research into all previous projects continues and the expansion of experimental research testing continues. The space project advances nicely and plans to have a man land on the moon by early 1963 are confirmed. Research into missiles capable of storing nuclear warheads continues and reaches the final stages of research, while conventional missiles are being produced in decent quantity. While many are made for naval warfare a large amount goes to the army which has missile launchers being built. The construction of Japan's first destroyers begins starting the final phases of the Japanese naval reconstruction. Meanwhile, research into a nuclear sub begins. Construction of the nuclear power plants continue. The rail lines are given updates and most are becoming electric lines now. The computer is officially opened to the public but it is too expensive and complicated for common use and only major corporations are using the computer for data collection. Research into more efficient comps continue. TV users continue to grow. A paratroops brigade is created as a division of the naval air forces and training begins. The Imperial air ways are expanded to international flights with Australia, Europe and parts of South America. The military keeps wary of the northern threat and thousands of what if scenarios are created with all ending in either Russian or Japanese defeat but always with massive bloodshed and high levels of radiation. The military grows more and more fearful of war in the east and they realize that something will need to be done to conserve the status quo or enforce Japanese dominance in the east, and looks to the nuclear missile project as a good choice, a test in the future to make the Russians think twice about war in the east and focus on the west or Central Asia only. The prototype bullpup rifle tested last year is a massive success and it is named the Arisawa Type 8. With a slight number of modifications the rifle enters production but in limited numbers now and is only distributed to the elite troops within the army and navy while the Arisawa 50 remains the main rifle of the Japanese armed forces for now. Industrial upgrades begin once again throughout the EATSP and Japan provides the supplies and equipment needed to bring up industrial standards in its allies - Korea included. It becomes public that Japan keeps four nuclear weapons in Manchuria in case of worst possible scenarios. The medical project continues and all advances made are documented.
  • North Republic: Receives the Mirage IV's. Project Baldr continues. We submit a UN Resolution on Smallpox. The Nuuk Institute of Polar Sciences (NIPS) is created. All peoples of the world have a right to study there. Regular flights between Nuuk and Reykjavik are started. We would ask Japan for a copy of their computer research for civilian use at the I.I.T. We begin researching the effect of CO2 and other gases on the atmosphere, due to a slight shrink in ice being noted. (What happened to the Faroe Islands post WW-II?)
    • Jap Dip: Japan will be willing to sell a computer to the North Republic for the right price.
    • They became French territory.
  • The United States continues its plans and shmans for things. Three more satellites launched, one in orbit around the moon, and the two others around the Earth. America launches another man to orbit the moon and lands a probe on the moon. Another aircraft carrier is built. A new color TV is built. The first nuclear power plant is built outside Newport News, Virginia. America builds three new nuclear missile launch facilities in Seattle, and another on Newfoundland, and the last outside Guaymas. Nuclear missiles are stored in West Germany as well as France and England.
  • um ... I know I'm not a mod but I really think we should just ban Warman55. No offence man, he has switched countries on several occasions and in general hasn't put up with any situation or limits mainly in troop numbers. Again, I'm not a mod but it's just a suggestion. Nkbeeching
  • I kinda have to agree with that.-Pita

1960.5

  • Korea: Korea continues to amp up their military, as well as their nuclear program. Korea also would like for the EATSP to remain the EATSP, perhaps dropping the "east" to become more Asian-centric, with the addition of India.
  • The United States continues its military buildup, as well as research into the space, computer and nuclear technology programs. Election happens. Democrats: JFK and Stuart Symington. Republicans; Richard M. Nixon and Dwight D. Eishenhower. Progressives: Nelson A. Rockefeller and Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. Independents: Barry M. Goldwater and Alben W. Barkley. The election is forced into the House. The president will be announced in January. Meanwhile, nuclear weapons are placed in the Philippines in the case of a Russian or Japanese attack.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: The Japanese request that the nukes be removed from the Philippines since they are a direct threat to Japan and its allies. And Japan has been extremely transparent with its policies to the USA going as far as to share delicate information and technology to improve relations.Should the Nukes remain. Relations between the USA and Japan will cool down quickly, and tensions will rise.
    • Yay! Cuban Missile Crisis parallel: the Philippine Missile Crisis. Sounds cool. The United States says that they are very far range, and cannot land before they go their designated distance, which goes far beyond Japan, China, Manchuria, etc. They are for attacking Novosibirsk and stuff.
    • Japanese Dip: The government states that if the targets are the Russian Bloc then the USA should place the missiles somewhere in Western Europe or in Africa instead of placing them where they are a clear threat to the EATSP, we will attempt to solve this diplomaticly but should a single nuke be launched from the Philippines an armed intervention may be considered, the Philippines will be left alone and are safer if they don't possess the nuclear weapons, the ambassador to Washington says quite clearly. Japanese forces must split now to handle both a possible threat from the north, and another possible threat from the south.
    • Just look at the map. It'll make your life easier. However, we cannot place too many missiles outside our territory, and the Philippines are a US state. They cannot be placed in West Germany, for the Soviet will know if we do. The rest of Europe is too dangerous. However, we are being notified of more missiles closer ot Western Europe, so we have moved exactly half (no more, no less) of the stockpile to Northern Flanders.
  • Global Events: The Libyan Republic invades Tunisia. Gamal Abdel Nasser dies. Moammar Al-Gaddafi replaces him as the Chancellor of the United Arab Republic. British North Ireland begins to ask for independence. Tibet asks to join the EATSP. The last of British colonies is released from colonial control. Congo receives independence as the Zaire Federal Union. Scrawland Scribblescratch supports banning Warman555 again, for a longer period of time than last time.
  • Japan:The placing of nukes so close to Japan by a considered friend sends shockwaves throughout Japanese society and mass protests occur outside the American Embassy in Tokyo. The government also condemns the considered American treachery of a previous good relationship, and considers revoking its previous treaties with the States. Tibet receives Japan's blessing to join the EATSP but it will need to be discussed with the rest of the alliance as will Malaysia and Burma's but Japan thinks all three states will be accepted. Japan creates a more unified trade and political organization within the alliance with Indonesia, Indochina and Manchuria forming the Comunity of East Asia, Korea and Siam are welcome to join, the EATSP will remain the base of the alliance and all treaties but the C.E.A. will become the core of all economic treaties and a true free trade zone with free movement of population between states for work or travel, and a more concentrated sense of unity for East Asia, with all members on an equal standing (well Korea, Siam and Japan on an equal standing anyway since all the other states are Japanese puppets, though it is a great benefit for their economy and national security). The Distribution of the Arisawa Type 8 begins but it is planned to be renamed in the future. The expansion and modernization of the navy continues and the destroyers continue being built. in response to the direct threat now at their back door more nukes are placed in the trust of the navy and naval exercises in the Central Pacific are planned in the future if the USA refuses to settle the matter in a civil way, Japan still wants to remain allies and friends with the States but it refuses to be bullied by a nation it is equal with. The continuation of the Space program goes on, with the necessary plans for the launch to the moon being made. All other projects are continued and more research into experimental fields continues with progress being made in laser technology. The creation of nuclear missiles reaches final stages of the project and Japan does a test in the Northern Pacific. A missile carrying a nuclear warhead explodes in the middle of the water. It is televised for the world to see. Research into ICBM's is still uncompleted yet though with this missile being of Continental range only - but enough to prove Japanese capacities to the world. The explosion was one of a hydrogen bomb several times more destructive then the Bomb dropped on China ten years earlier, while the government receives criticism for its very provocative test. The Diet and Prime Minister Yamamoto express that the threat of nuclear weapons being used against Japan is an increasingly realistic scenario with the increase of USSR and USA WMD's near Japanese territory, the only way to deter this is by demonstrating as clearly as possible that Japan will not be intimidated and only wants to secure the protection of itself and that of its allies. The exploration in Manchuria proves extrmely promising and the stocks for the company shoot Sky-high while the East Asian industrial stocks grow on an international scale thanks to the increase in possible earnings in the East Asian industrial sector, mainly cars, firearms and manufactured goods. Japanese companies takes advantage of this to increase their presence on an international scale and a few stocks are bought off of western companies by wealthy Japanese looking to increase their earnings and possibility for the expansion of their companies, this is the start of the Japanese economic competition with the old western companies. There is an increase in agricultural production thanks to breakthroughs made in the bio-engineering and bio-chemical research being done by the medical project. The government builds the institute of medical and biological research in Tokyo where the entire research operations will be headed while the branches in Hokkiado, and Tonkin remain open and will be for the foreseeable future. Japan begins taking an increased interest in engineering and robotics and The Imperial Institute of Robotics and Engineering is founded in Tokyo as well and most research projects dealing with robotics and engineering are moved to the facility. Remember, research into robotics or electronics - not actual robots, OK?). The gang war forming on the continent is getting out of hand as it spills over into the Nanjing Regime and into North China, the Internal Security Police are created and they receive military-grade training to deal with the rising problem but the new police force won't be ready till next year so police are having a hard time dealing with the increasing violence on the mainland, many look in horror back in Mainland Japan as the Chinese Mafia and the Yakuza tear each other apart and cause death amongst civilians. The fighting makes the American Mafia era in the 20's and 30's look like horse play. The military is amped up and training of troops to keep them active

    • The United States says that they are very far range, and cannot land before they go their designated distance, which goes far beyond Japan, China, Manchuria, etc etc. They are for attacking Novosibirsk and stuff. (Basically, they only go X miles, and X miles is far away from Japan, Asia, and the EATSP.)
    • As you can see here, the nuclear weapons can only land in a place with a red dot on it. Only nations targeted are: Russia/the Soviet Union, Persia/Iran, East Arabia, Australia, and America itself. We would neved do anything to purposefully harm such an important and friendly ally as Japan, a nation whom we cannot engage in regular war with.
  • Argentina: The first election in many decades occured and the Nationalist Party is elected with 65% of the voice since the party was responsible for the quick development of the country since the last decades. The military budget is slightly decrease but stays high due to the Chilean Communist threat at our frontier. The navy also grows and is now the second biggest navy in America after America. The institution began to be slowly democratise. The first step is the industries who are slowly privatizing. Better relations are asked with the American bloc and the Japanese bloc. A trade deal is proposed to the USA and Japan. Brazil is offered to democratise itself to build a better friendship with the rest of Latin America. Latin American nations are now invited to join the Latin American Confederation peacefully to improve the life level across the region and strengthen our economy.
    • Jap Dip: The government agrees to improving relations and Japan would be interested in investing in the Argentinean extraction of minerals and the exploitation of the nation's vast resources.
    • Argentina Dip: we agree to the deal but our government state that the ressource extraction is an important part of our economy and that we would like to keep a reasonable part of the revenue; using local work force would be nice as well.
  • Cuba: Cuba accepts the Soviet's request to build nuclear weapons in Cuba. Areas around Cuba are quickly prepped for this. Meanwhile, rebuilding from the civil war continues. People deemed 'corrupt' (at this point in time, most of them really are corrupt) are put in labor camps. The industry spike results in the production of military equipment, among other things.
  • The Soviet Union, remaining true to the START Treaty, begins to reduce its atomic stockpile, while production of hydrogen bombs continue. Several nuclear missiles are shipped to Cuba under the disguise of food vessels, and are immeaditly put in place, and camoflauged to protect them from survelliance aircraft. To reduce tensions along the Soviet - Japanese border, many nuclear missiles are removed from the Far East, and instead moved toward Western Europe. Premier Trotsky asks the President of the US and Emperor of Japan to establish a three-way hotline between Moscow, Washington and Tokyo, which should a situation arise, can contact the three major leaders fast.
    • Jap Dip: The Japanese government thanks the Soviet's efforts and in return three of the four nukes previously stationed in Manchuria are moved back to Japan. Japan also agrees to the efforts and two lines will be built in Japan, one to Prime Minister Yamamoto and another to Emperor Hirohito.
    • The United States agrees to the hotline-thing, and says that the American ends shall be connected to the Hexagon (our military War Department headquarters complex) and the White House.
    • Global Secret Events: The Republic of New Guinea asks for Soviet protections and nuclear weapons.
    • Western Papua, you realize, is a part of Indonesia, you didn't include it in the Republic of New Guinea right? Nkbeeching
    • I know. I'm talking about the former Eastern half of the island, now the Republic of New Guinea.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai releases the second issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2; Miko, Kogasa and Koishi continue investigation and soon some more clues are found: another spell card, a key and a crowbar; later they find an abandoned house and check around. By the end of this issue Koishi, Kogasa and Miko are back at their house in Pattaya to try to think about the clues. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished. Siam also joins the Community of East Asia.
  • Venezuela: Communist rebels attack military commucation outs all across the nation the rebels for secret Soviet support.
  • Turkey: The Turks continue their secret railgun project to scale up the size and power of the weapons, and get it to a point that it will one day be able to hit a target without leaving the residue of radiation. The government agrees that this is where the country military budget will be alloted to for the next three years. Elsewhere, the invasion of Iraq draws to a close. The military begins producation of their railgun tanks, which shall be able to hit a target much farther away but with the same level of destruction. The Turks have also secretly increased their nuclear arsenal to compete with Japan, and their Mirage IV long-range bomber arsenal is increased as well. (Where is my acquisition of East Arabia?)
  • um ... Your stockpile is far from being on par with Japan´s. Ours are on the level of the States and the Soviets, plus far more advanced then yours. Nkbeeching
  • You can't compete with Japan without becoming a superpower and joining the Cold War, which is ridiculously implausible and impossible.
  • and he stole my Gauss super weapon idea, and changed it to something similar like the railgun is Sine dei gloriem (talk) 01:31, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
  • I can't steal what doesn't exist, Sine and I didn't even know you were using it. And railguns have been a wook in progress for decades anyway. And I already have Mirage IVs, so I can produce more as I already stated, and increase my already existing nuclear arsenal, making most of what you crossed out without any real basis. And I have been researching nuclear weapons since the Second World War, so we are on the same level. Also, I'm pretty sure I conquered Bulgaria (several years prior), most of Iraq, and recently annexed East Arabia.
  • it does exist, in OTL one man made a Gauss chaingun fully working in 1934 just prior to the war, and i made it in 1952-54 so it should be Possible though not in mass production, and ok no problem Sine dei gloriem (talk) 00:18, November 7, 2012 (UTC)

1961

  • Korea: Korea continues to work on technologies. They condemn the placement of American missiles in the Philippines, and suggests a blockade of the islands.
    • Jap Dip: Japan suggests that more diplomatic measures be taken since a blockade will destroy the alliance being built between the Americans and the Japanese, and it would lead to a war unlike anything seen before with even more loss of life then the second world war and the second Sino-Japanese war put together.
    • In case you haven't noticed, 80% of them have been removed, and the remaining missiles are incapable of travelling at such a short range as to attack Japan.
  • Brazil: After several years, the anti-air Gauss cannons are working and several are installed in the four carriers of the nation's Navy. While this, the president sends a message that implies that if Brazil gets an access from Peruvian land they will give up the gained lands in the wars (RNG: 1-7 no, 8-10 yes: 8 yes), With this being said, the Ambassadors begin discussing possible land exchanges. While this, Argentina is asked for a joint nuclear project for the South American nation to produce cleaner energy for the region (Also do I own Uruguay, and what happened with Suriname and third Peruvian wars?)
  • Japan: The research into new body armor is completed and a prototype of Kevlar is made. The new material is considered a wonder of modern science and the production of the new bullet vest is ordered at once. The new Imperial army is considered one of the most advanced and efficient forces in the world (with the uniforms designed and made common in the 50's - see my previous posts). The standard usage of gas masks is increased, as is the deployment of the rifle design now named the Arisawa KS 60 (previously the Type 8 - read my previous turns). Singapore is declared an autonomous region of Malaysia under Japanese protection and a naval base is built there giving better access to the Indian Ocean. The research into all current projects continues, missile silos are built throughout the nations of the C.E.A. except Siam. Improvements are made to the current armed force vehicles mainly the APC's and naval units. Japan's first mobile missile launcher is created fitted with conventional missiles. Tactical nuclear warheads are researched for usage as artillery to deal with local warfare. A simple but affective national radar system is built up to detect any possible incoming missiles or aircraft. Plans are put forth to finally deal with the remnants of the former Chinese state, with the I.S.R.F. being deployed to Free China along with Manchu Imperial troops to aid the paramilitary groups they support against the remnants of the Chinese state, but the fighting is limited to support roles as Japan merely wishes to secure the lands their various puppet states lay claim to. The bigger picture is the removal of a unified China as a threat to the Japanese lead order in East Asia, all of this is, of course, covert and remains completely censored and removed from the public eyes. designs for the three new types of helicopters are made but construction of prototypes will take at least two years. The internal security police are finished training and they begin the suppression of the different gangs on the Asian mainland, 30% of the organized crime in Japan and the Japanese puppet states on mainland China are eradicated in less the five months. The new destroyer ships continue to be constructed, Japan now officially has the most advanced naval force in the world and the navy has become larger then the UK and is larger than the USA Pacific fleet (not the entire USA naval force - just the Pacific fleet and that is completely possible.), and the naval forces continue to increase, it however keeps activities centred around the defence of East Asia from external threats and policing the waters of the western Pacific, leaving the job of policing the rest of the world's waters to the Soviets and the Americans. (Japan is a super power bent only on regional policies unlike the other two XD, unofficially the most defensive of the three powers mainly due to Japanese size and limited capacities around the world) The first Joint EATSP naval exercise begins with Japan inviting Siam, and Korea to participate, Japan helps Indonesia develop its navy as well. Japan begins implementing a campaign to eradicate smallpoxs in East Asia, with its extensive bio program proving quite effective, and the plan is to isolate the infection as much as possible and starve it out of victims by vaccination throughout East Asia. Nuclear plants continue to be workd on throughout the rest of Japan, and a plant is started in Jakarta and Mukden. The construction of oil production facilities in Manchuria begin. Industry in Indonesia rise to the level of a 1/5 that of Japan and Manchuria produces 1/4 that of which Japan produces increasing the values of East Asian corporation stocks, East Asian sales to the rest of the world increase as well. The green revolution begins thanks to research into bio-engineering and agricultural production increases a lot proving helpful to the growing population of Japan and its allies. Multi-culturalism begins to increase in Japan because of the constant exposure of Japan to the rest of the world and vice versa. Yamamoto claims he will run for an unheard of third term but his popularity with the population remains high. usage of new electronic products continue to grow with the computer being used by many large corparations now and by every government instituition. A joint military exrcise with Japanese and Manchurian grounds forces. a similar exercise will be held with Indonesia, Indochina and hopefully Siam next year in Tonkin, then Sumatra. A formal apology is given to the families of Chinese soldiers who died at Japanese hands over 20 years before and the first Memorial day is held on June 5th to remember the lives of all those who died in the Sino-Japanese war from 1937 to 1949 and to remember all war crimes commited by both sides with the words "never again" splattered across propaganda campaigns. A second apology is made to Korea for the previous brual occupation of the peninsula. Japanese plans for the defence of East Asia are constantly revised and updated with the ever changing situation across the globe, but the all out defence strategy is always considered the most efficient since An offensive across the Pacific or into Siberia is considered a waste of resources and the alliance of asian nations is quite strong at this point so a coordinated an efficient defence can be built to deal with any foreign threat to E.A. security. (Thanks mainly due to the liberal approach of this Japan and the large inter-cooperation that exists in this TL, and since we led to their decolonization this game.)
  • I'm sorry, but it it'll take A LOT, repeat, A LOT of time (years) and work and to overtop the United States Navy especially the gigantically massive Pacific fleet.
  • um ... I've been working on the navy every turn since the start of the game, improving and expanding the navy, You've been focused on other areas. I'll readjust the statement but it won't take that long.
  • There, I fixed it - being larger then your Pacific fleet - not the entire naval force, but you have to admit the Japanese navy is far more advanced then the American's for the amount of attention it's getting and I think Japan is the only nation with ships that launch missiles at the moment.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai begins writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished. Siam also joins Japan's joint naval exercise.
  • North Republic: With Japanese and American help a project to eradicate smallpox begins. To help with this the Rekyjavik University of Biology (RUK) is founded. Project Baldr continues. We offer one million NRK to Japan in exchange for a full copy of its computer research and two computers. We would also like to buy ten fighters from you. Name your price.
  • How are the Faroe Islands French? In OTL they were Danish then when the Danes got conquered by the Germans the British invaded. At the end of the war they were handed back to Denmark. The British would have a claim but...
    • ''Japanese Dip: We will sell two computers and 20 Zero 22 fighters but the computer research is a deal that will be considered.
    • 'North Republic Dip: ' We thank you. May we ask when we will receive the fighters? How about if we agree that any research we conduct on computers will be shared. That could halve both our workload.
    • With in the next year Japan will send the fighters.
  • Because. The Danes were conquered/split/ravaged/destroyed by the Germans, and so were the Brits. They were in no capability to regain them, and the French freed the islands.
  • Turkey: The Turkish military increases its fleet of Mirage IVs, and constructs additional ballistic missiles for the nuclear arsenal. The Turkish navy is divided into three fleets; the First Fleet is stationed out of Istanbul, the Second Fleet stationed out of Antioch, and the Third Fleet stationed out of Um Qasr. The Turkish government agrees to deal with the Egyptian threat on their borders following complaints from Syrian civilians regarding in-fighting between their people as to which government they should belong. Northern Syrians wish to stay with Turkey, while Southern Syrians wish to live in Egypt. To prevent a full-blown civil war, the Turks take it upon themselves to unite Syria, and rebuild their nation at the same time. A force of 200,000 troops pulled from Turkey and northern Iraq are sent into the neighboring country to begin work on converting the lands to Turkish rule. Portions of the Second Fleet are sent to the Red Sea, and parts of the Third Fleet to the Straits of Hormuz as a precaution. Work on a fully-armed railgun warship secretly begins in Izmir.
  • I've been reading up on railguns. While the technology to make them back in the 1960's existed it is extremely complicated and expensive - not to mention that a railgun would consume immense amounts of energy. Nkbeeching
  • Hey, South Syria is already in the United Arab Republic, by popular vote, and you are NOT, repeat NOT AT ALL near Japan's immense national capabilities. You're like an OTL Britain or France in the Early 50s.
  • Did I mention Japan at all in my post? And I spent the last 30 plus years working on my industry and military. Did I do that for nothing? And you are aware that Britain and France were both ridiculously powerful in the 1950s? France dropped 670,000 troops in Algeria, a lot more than I have anywhere. And more importantly, I never stated that South Syria was independent, hence the reason I used the word Syrians instead of Syra. Now change it back.
  • Argentina: Some central ships of the fleet begin to receive Gauss cannons and we agree to start a joint nuclear program. The frontier with Chile saw many defenses built near it and soldiers are placed there to prevent infiltration from Communist saboteurs. However, the refugees are always welcome. The helicopter development makes another step forward when powerful battle helicopters are invented. The air force continues to be modernise with jets. The democratization continues by giving freedom of speech and non-censured media and Bolivia is invited into the Latin American Confederation as a full member - in exchange for help to modernise itself. The newer technologies quickly spread throughout the nation.
  • The Soviet Union continues to remove atomic weapons from its stockpiles, as well as most nuclear missiles from the Far East. Research into all modern technologies continues, while research into geothermal energy and clean energy begins. The Soviet Navy begins to develop missile cruisers, vessels capable of firing missiles from the stern of the ship. Research into nuclear-powered vessels begins, while oil is exported to Eastern Europe and would like to open up oil imports to the United States, Western Europe and the Balkans. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union begins to consider improving life in Africa, and asks the United States and Japan if they would consider joining the Soviet Union in improving life in Africa.
  • The US agrees.
  • The US: JFK is president. More space stuff. Less nukes.

1961.5

  • Korea: Korea runs their first test of the high altitude plane, which fails miserably. The pilot is critically injured, although alive. Research in that area continues. Space is also put into the interest of the government, and the go-ahead is given to start a space program. However, it is not put into the primary focus, with military projects still being ahead.
  • Argentina: The government declares that he will invest in all the willing Latin America nations to prevent Communist idea and show solidarity and with the hope that some nation may join the Confederation. Argentina declares that we would be ready to invest to develop Africa's infrastructure. Scientists are sent to help the joint nuclear program with Brazil but development of a rocket continues and is planned to be over in six years.
  • Turkey: The Turkish government authorizes the construction of a second nuclear power plant in Istanbul to provide power for European Turkey. Research going into the miniaturization of railgun technology begins, and has the backing of government support. The nuclear arsenal is increased, and the standing forces of the nation is slated to reach the government's requests for two million soldiers by 1970.
  • I never said railguns are impossible but they are extremely expensive and consume massive amounts of energy, and it is impossible to make railgun firearms at the moment. The first railgun prototype firearm was made in 2002 OTL. Nkbeeching
  • That's why I said research. RESEARCH. I still have the right to research a way to make them smaller, and get a head start. And railguns could have been pursued much earlier, but they never got the same amount of attention as nuclear weapons, stealth planes (which were also extremely expensive), and spaceflight (which consumed a lot of energy). ~Viva
  • Cuba: As the military expands and rebuilding continues, many Central American nations are exposed to more Communist ideas. As the recovery in Cuba paints a decent portrayal of Communism being good for everyone, the exposure takes off well in Latin America.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • The Soviet Union continues research into all projects, including space, military and medicine. The Soviet Union begins demolition of its hydrogen stockpile and is expected to rid the Soviet Union of all nuclear weapons by 1972. The Soviet Army continues to develop a new composite armoured tank, and the Turks are asked if they could share their railgun research. (Also, is it plausible for the Soviet Union to go from Communism to a socialist democracy?).
  • I think so but it would meet a lot of opposition from reactionary factions and a civil war would probably break out. Nkbeeching
  • Let's consider it. Once you start such a movement, a civil war will break out, lasting for at least five years. Your puppet states and satellites will break free and find some sort of way into democracy. Japan will capture your Manchurian and other Eastern southern regions. Western Germany will seize East Germany and reunite Germany and probably go after Poland too. When your war ends, your major cities will be all disrupted, destroyed, ravaged, savaged, decimated, exterminated, crushed, and you'll have to start anew, primitively. I suggest starting with taking some reforms first. Then proceed slowly but surely. ~ Scrawlandic Emperor
  • North Republic: Project Baldr continues. Scientists at NIPS publish 'The Greenhouse Effect: How we are altering the planet.' It becomes a sensation and The Green Party is founded. With (a Green-Socialist ideology) a membership of near 56%, they are expected to sweep the next election.
  • Japan: The Empire continues its program to eradicate smallpox in Asia but several strands of the virus are stored away for further studies. Research into railguns begins but for civilian and space usage instead of military usage. The research into creating nuclear artillery rounds and artillery pieces capable of handling them continue, and the creation of nuclear warheads and continental missiles continues while the research into ICBMs continues. The expansion of the navy continues with the several more subs, aircraft carriers and modern destroyers. Creation of the new chopper prototypes continue. All other research programs continue with good progress. Crown Prince Akihito goes to the USA to talk with the American government and learn more about the west. A joint USA, USSR, Japanese military exercise is proposed to lessen tensions and promote international cooperation. Military activities in China continue. The war against organized crime is stepped up and fighting in the cities intensifies but progress is made. Industrialization in East Asia starts up again with more companies starting up thanks to large supplies of raw material for industrial activity. Japan shares as much of its industrial knowledge and technology with its allies to help the process further. a new amphibious capable APC is put into construction to increase the affectiveness of the Imperial marines. Upgrading the armed forces continues as Kevlar rapidly replaces the old body armor. Expansion of public transport begins and plans to build a bullet train begin with the Imperial Diet taking an interest in the idea. The construction of an oil industry in Manchuria continues and extraction will begin by 1964. The space program continues with two more satellites being sent into space and the planned landing of a man on the moon in 1963 continues on schedule.
  • North Republic Diplomacy: '... several strands of the virus are stored away for further studies'. This is a dangerous move. The North Republic considers you a worthy friend. We were on the cusp of proposing an alliance...
  • 1963 is a little too early. Try 1964.
  • I'll see in 1963 what I do - maybe an accident or something will postpone the project for a year or it might actually work. I said I'd hit the moon in 1963 over eight turns ago but I'll see once I'm there.
  • The United States continues to build up its military, and its nuclear and space programs. Akihito is welcomed to America. In a gesture of peace, Vice President Stuart Symington is sent to Japan. The New York City Subway is consolidated from the IND, IRT and BMT. America agrees to the joint military exercises. Another man is put into orbit of the moon.
    • Jap Dip: Akihito will remain in D.C. for two weeks before touring the USA. On another note, the Embassy to Washington suggests that the exercises be a series of them over the next three years: in the northern islands of Japan, followed by another in Indonesia, and last in the Rocky Mountains or in Alaska.
    • America agrees, and says that Alaska would be better than the Rockies.
  • Brazil: (As I don't know if I own Uruguay or not) with the increase of the Communist threat, the relations with Cube are closed. The continuous attempts to bringing side arms and assault weapons from Gauss weaponry gives some hope as a small sideweapon is made with Gauss technology but it only shoots four projectiles with one battery. The joint nuclear program with Argentina continues and as Argentina seeks to invest in African infrastructure Brazil shows its interest in the idea, too. Sine dei gloriem (talk) 04:05, November 9, 2012 (UTC)
  • Italy: Nuclear bomb research is complete, and one is detonated in the mid-Atlantic, destroying the empty cruiser used as a target. Italy has been researching its nuclear weaponry for over a decade since the Axis collapse. Italy secretly begins a massive nuclear arms buildup while plans for nuclear bombs are given secretly to former ally Spain. Italy also states that it is absolved from any forced alliance with either the American satellite pacts or the Soviet puppet alliance. Italy declares its utter neutrality in any wars.
  • North Republic Diplomacy: We are
  • UK The government orders that a helicopter be created and we blockade Turkish ports. Our nuclear program is finished and we send a naval task force to restore a democracy in Cuba. This force has 20,000 British commandos.
  • North Republic Diplomacy: Back down. You cannot beat Turkey. You have no friends to help. We shall invade if need be. Consider this our final warning.

1962

  • Global Events: The last Franco-British colonies in Africa are given independence. East Germany asks for freedom from the Soviet regime, but says that it will remain as a Soviet ally, and in the Warsaw Pact. Same goes for West Germany, but for America. North Ireland collapses after long period of anarchy, and the Communists secure the entire area. The People's Republic of Ireland is proclaimed. Ireland begins to prepare to invade British North Ireland. Meanwhile Libya falls to the United Arab Republic. Nasser dies. Gaddafi takes his place. In Cuba, a democratic revolution opens when refugees (secretly supported by America) led by Fidel Castro invade Cuba. They secure the western tip of the island, where Cuban ships are relatively few. The DR and Haiti announce plans to unite.
  • The United States offers Brazil and Argentina help in their nuclear projects if they agree to become more democratic. Military, built up. Navy prepares for war with Cuba.
  • Japan: Troops begin the joint exercise with the States, the results will be shown within a few months. Research into all present and experimental projects continue, and preparations for the space flight continue. The gang wars begin to calm down with troops eradicating several of the Yakuza gangs but fighting against Chinese Mafia increases and ties between the mobs and para-military groups are made. The fighting in Free China becomes more chaotic as the various militias, and para-military organizations kill each other for power. Consideration is made to invade Free China and stabilize the region under a pro-Japanese government. Naval production continues, as does aerial and land forces production, mass production of the new Arisawa rifle and of Kevlar begin. The new chopper prototypes continue construction. The construction of the bullet train begins, public transport continues to be expanded. Research into enhanced jets begin. More nuclear weapons and transports for them are created. Akihito completes his visit to the USA and upon his return is fascinated by the country and its society. He hires an American living in Tokyo to teach him and his wife English for future diplomatic exchanges. Economic growth in East Asia continues and part of the earnings in several corporations are put into relief programs for the poor and to build infrastructure in unfortunate areas. The Japanese population in the prefectures of Taihoku and Tonkin continues to grow, and the elite in Tonkin is no longer French - but Japanese. However, many Japanese that move there have started to marry the locals.
  • The Soviet Union continues to research all modern technologies, including a railgun. Research begins on stealth technology. The Soviet Union agrees to the naval exercises between the three superpowers from last turn. Research begins on Kevlar and the minigun. The Soviet Union agrees to East Germany's proposal, while nuclear weapons in Cuba are withdrawn to prevent them from falling to the Americans or Cubans. The Soviet High Command passes its first reform: freedom of religion, which allows for both Eastern Orthodox, Islam and other major and minor religions in the Soviet Union to be expressed freely. The Premier of the Soviet Union begins to look into economic and military reform.
  • Argentina: Tells the United States that the democratization process has already begun with the first free election in many decades. More reforms are passed over time which allow free press and more privatization of the company which, however, stays in part a property of the states. Argentina also proposes the USA support to free Cuba from the Communist dictatorship. Pan Latin American propaganda began to be distributed across Latin America to promote the Latin American Confederation. Money to develop Bolivia is also sent to this last one. The fleet and military continue to grow and become the largest in the southern hemisphere. Research continues.
  • North Republic: Project Baldr continues. Zero 22 fighters are put into production, aiming for 130 more. It is made compulsory for all men to train for two hours a week with a rifle. However, laws on gun crime are made a lot tougher. A diplomatic envoy is sent to Japan to discuss the smallpox situation, among other things. A diplomatic envoy is also sent to the People's Republic of Ireland. Computer research is begun at the I.I.T., which now has five computers. We present our findings on 'Climate Change' to the UN. A special 'Quebec Day' is held nationwide to celebrate our ally.
  • For a quick reference to the North Republic's international relations please see: Here.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Turkey: Seeking a chance to take advantage of the change in government in the UAR, the Turks declare war on their neighbor, citing reclamation of old territories as their cacus belli. The military mobilizes a force of 230,000 troops and 1,500 armored vehicles for the invasion, and public support rallies in Anatolia for the cause begins to spread amongst the Turkish population. Diplomats are sent to the Soviet Union and Iceland for support in the conflict. The Turkish government states that the Suez Canal will not be targetted by Turkish forces for duration of the conflict. Prime Minister Cemal Gürsel states that he will be visiting Mecca to speak with the Saudi Princes for a possible peaceful reunification of the eastern and western parts of Arabia.
    • The UAR declares war on the Turkish people. (West Arabia belongs to the UAR.) The UAR asks for international support and files to the UN. Gadaffi himself leads his troops over the border into Arabia and the navy (a decent sized mediocre navy) blockades the Turkish Mediterranean Coast and invades the Golden Horn.
    • The United States declares support for the Arab Republic. The Turkish Embassy is closed, and the US Embassy in Turkey is closed. The Turkish ambassador is given a choice to stay in America or take one-way safe passage to any country except Turkey; he travels to Persia, but he is killed there before he can return to Turkey. The US launches aid to the Greeks and Persian so they can campaign for their independence and fight off their Turkish masters. Same in Bulgaria, Iraq, Syria, and Turkish North Persia.
    • Mexico declares support for the Arab Republic.
    • The Democratic Federation of Germany declares support for the Arab Republic.
    • The Republic of Quebec declares support for the Arab Republic.
    • The United Kingdom declares support for the Arab Republic and the Royal Navy is deployed.
    • The Republic of France declares support for the Arab Republic. The Navy is deployed.
    • Why are these non-player nations in the war?
    • US sphere of influence, GO COLD.
    • Japanese Dip: Japan removes its embassy from Ankara, and the Turkish ambassador - along with the embassy - is requested to leave Tokyo or be forced from the country, their status as a diplomatic mission is stripped. Japan also cuts off all trade relations with Turkey and refuses to have any contact with the nation. Support is sent to the areas conquered by Turkey in the past 20 years in the form of firearms, food and advisors but Japan refuses to actually go into conflict with Turkey since it is too far away to directly affect the security of East Asia but the navy is put on high alert nonetheless.
    • Argentina Dip: Supports the United Arab Republic with weapons and supplies, a naval task force is also prepared.
    • North Republic Diplomacy: Declares war on Turkey. Bans all exports to Turkey and all imports from Turkey. Freezes any Turkish assets in North Republican banks.
    • The UAR thanks all these nations for their help.
  • Korea: The high altitude fighter is tested, being a massive success. However, a camera powerful enough to capture images accurately cannot be attached yet. Work continues on it, however.
  • Hello all. I have been appointed by Pita as an algorithm person/unbiased mod. Lucky for you all that an unbiased mod joined during wartime.AP (talk) 19:25, November 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Cuba: Numerous soldiers and volunteers still enthusiastic about the Communist regime fight to take back the tip of western Cuba. The United States is denounced. The world is warned about the United States and their goal to destroy new governments that do not align with the American view. The invasion of Mexico and the probable invasion of Cuba is evidence enough. The Americans are told to give northern Mexico its independence. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union is asked for help if Cuba is invaded.
  • Lies and more lies. A: You don't that the US is supporting the rebel refugees. B: Mexico invaded us first; how many times do I have to say that? They're states, god damn it. Why don't you give the anti-Communist southwestern area independence? Mexico wasn't even a new government, and they were trying to take back land they lost to us in another war that they started.
  • Well, Mexico didn't invade you. It invaded your allies. Outside of that, he's wrong completely Sine dei gloriem (talk) 21:38, November 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Yes, yes, but still, why are non-player nations supporting the UAR? ~Viva
  • They are in GO COLD or it would be logical/plausible for them to do so, since the world hates Turkey.
  • Well, that and because they are influenced by America, or Japan etc, etc like puppet states Sine dei gloriem (talk) 22:23, November 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • No, some of the world (GO GOLD and Japanese puppets) hate Turkey. I think it unfair to dictate the views of the world to gain support for a war. But if that is the case, then I wish to drag what is left of Yugoslavia (Turkish ally), Hungary (Turkish ally) and Bulgaria (conquered by Turkey by no one put that on the map) into the conflict - that, or choosing to look the other way and pretend the declaration of war never happened. ~Viva
  • Well, Yugoslavia maybe. Hungary, maybe too, but Bulgaria you didn't conquer it. You just gained land from them and without thinking my aid to them, as Brazil and their allies Sine dei gloriem (talk) 22:43, November 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Ah, but I never did two of the algorithms because I didn't feel like doing the math. Meaning that I have much more land or influence over that nation than is actually shown. And you offered aid to Bulgaria during WW-II, but I invaded it during the 1950s. ~Viva
  • Brazil: It states to Cuba that most of the Communist nations will not progress and only get stuck economically. In other news, the final treaty with the Peruvians giving a connected to Brazil passage to the Pacific Ocean, as well, during this year Janio Quadros is Chosen president of the Republic Of Brazil, and he gives Uruguay Independence (Under Brazilian Influence). While this, the army continues to be equipped with Gauss weaponry, while two more carriers are built. While this, a small scientific Expedition is Launched to set an outpost in The Antarctica for research, and The US Offer is accepted. Again, Brazil asks the Netherlands to purchase Suriname.
  • Also, I think Turkey should be Penalized. It has been involved in five campaigns in barely a few years Sine dei gloriem (talk) 22:23, November 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Remember that Pita wanted to penalize Brazil for the numerous campaigns you were engaged in. However, he did not as it was not considered a sound move. ~Viva
  • I think he did because no one validated my third Peruvian war or war against Suriname, so for me he did. Sine dei gloriem (talk) 22:43, November 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • No, Scraw and I voted against the move. ~Viva
  • Also, AP please post the Mod events in Vive La Revolution. I want to continue the game, erase this when you see it Sine dei gloriem (talk) 22:23, November 11, 2012 (UTC)

1962.5

  • Korea: The Korean military continues to be built up. However, dissent begins to form (again) in the people as spending continues to be pumped towards the military. Infrastructure and public services are waning, and people are dissatisfied. More nukes are built.
  • Turkey: The Grand National Assembly of Turkey overrules the decision of the President, and the invasion of Egypt is called off by the military. The military of Turkey itself has threatened to remove the president (a member of the military), from power to maintain the integrity of the state. No apology is sent to Egypt, but the military forces themselves have been withdrawn from the border in an act of cooperation to the Egyptian government. The president himself has been called back from his trip to Russia to face a military hearing in Ankara for his actions. Elsewhere, the development of a hydrogen bomb begins in secret somewhere outside of Batman, Turkey. Additionally, the Turkish government dissolves its diplomatic relations with Japan, and orders the Japanese diplomats out of the country, threatening them with death if they dare return. A sixth and seventh carrier is commissioned for military service, and the hulls laid down in the port cities of Izmir and Antayla. The first steps to constructing a missile for the core territories of the nation are taken, with the first SAM defenses placed around the city of Tehran, Basra and Aleppo. The government also announces that it may be joining the Cold War in the future.
    • Jap: What's left of the ultra-nationalist faction seeks support for a planned second coup attempt to retake power (might as well take advantage of the tensions to create a crisis in Japan. Of course it will fail, but it will without a doubt kill several major government figures.)
  • You can't just join the Cold War. And the Japs sent your folks home and brought their folks home, too. And you're nowhere near on par with the three superpowers of the day.
  • I can. I throw my support behind any of the powers, and nowhere did I ever say I was on par with the three superpowers. I can't understand why you can't comprehend that. As for the Japanese, I really don't care anymore. Embassy shut down and locked down. It's more secure than a shiny bike in a very bad neighborhood in Somalia. And my industry is the largest in the Middle East (OTL Turkey is more powerful the OTL Egypt, BTW), and I have many nuclear weapons to leisurely class myself as a regional power. I, at least, have the right to own that. ~Viva
  • Oh. I thought you meant head-on opposition with America, Russia and Japan. To the rest, correct and correct, but for that other part, the Japs beat you to closing down the embassies. That's all I meant. And ATL, you are a little Cold War-ing with the United Arab Republic, not Egypt.
  • Ah, glad the confusion has been cleared up. I have no war with Japan or America, nor do I plan any. I just want some respect for Turkey... :'(
  • You're the nation no one wants to expand at the moment, Viva. Deal with it. Take a look at the previous AvA. It happened to my New Granada as well. It just happens, though I think I handled things a tad bit more efficiently then you did, but it happens. Nkbeeching
  • 'The way you said that was rather rude. Though I un'derstand your point. ~Viva
  • Argentina: Began to fund the nations in Latin America to help their development - except Chile and Cuba because of their threat to the region as a Soviet ally. A Latin American conference is called and many nations answer. The goal is to encourage membership in our organisation and it is thought that at long term, some will join. A meeting between Turkey, the United States, Japan and everyone else who is interested in discussing a possible Turkish sphere of influence in the region is proposed in the interest of protecting the peace. The navy is increased with more carriers put into construction to hopefully reach eight in six years.
    • Turkey Diplomacy: The Turkish government will consider a meeting in the future, possibly at the beginning of next year if the other nations agree to such a proposal.
    • Jap Dip: The government refuses to negotiate with a country who has brocken every international law and who has continuously been a risk to international stability (Turkey is a volatile regime in control of most of the middle eastern oil supplies though I don't care much about the oil problem. That's a problem for the west to deal with. I'm supplied enough by the reserves within the Japanese sphere.)
    • Turkish Dip: Japan's refusal to seek a diplomatic course of action, and instead attempt to threaten the Turkish people and their nation is the kind of hypocrisy we have spoken of. Only when it is in their interest to do so do they wish to find a peaceful way of preserving their gains. However, they only wish to expand influence in our region, and usurp our resources. If the United States wishes to do so, then we shall continue on with the diplomatic talks without the Japanese liars.
  • Japan: The Diet confirms its decision to revoke all relations with Turkey calling the nation a rogue state incapable of understanding international norms and with delusional dreams of glory and granduer on level with those of Nazi Germany and with the former ultra-nationalists. Exploitation of the oil reserves in East Asia continue to fuel the Japanese, and EATSP industrial machine. Japan comes to the completion of the I.C.B.M. research and a test of the missile is done but without an active warhead. The ICBM is launched into the middle of the Indian Ocean from the Japanese mainland as a show of Japanese technological prowess and also as a way to put fear into the Turkish state, to get them to not mess around with Japan. Troops begin to increase operations in China and their support for rebellions in Turkish controlled land to destabilize the rogue state. With his growing presence on the world stage and the weakening of Hirohito, the Crown Prince Akihito is declared the new Emperor of Japan. Hirohito abdicates to give the position to his son while he withdraws to a large estate in northern Japan to attend to his weakening health. The first Chopper designed prototypes of the new models are completed and testing begins. Research into all earlier projects continue, and the high command authorizes a start of research into Stealth as well. The plans for the launch to the moon are postponed due to a technical difficulty but the launch will be done on New Years Eve 1963 to keep to the same year and to open the new year with a Japanese spectacle to the rest of the world. The navy continues to be upgraded and expanded, a new super carrier is put under construction, and blueprints for a nuclear powered aircraft carrier begins. Designing of the nuclear artillery heads continue and for the artillery pieces capable of handling them. Nuclear warhead production continues as does the production of missiles. The gang war continues to grow larger and the police force - despite their initial success - is unable to eradicate the Chinese Mafia and is forced to request more support from the government. The situation in cities suffering from the gang war is on par to those of places in the Middle East or Africa, but living standards in the rest of East Asia are on par with those of North America, while possibly better due to public transport. Education and health being at a better level then American, as are job benefits. The construction of the bullet train continues and progress is made.
    • Turkish R: Turkey could care less about the hypocritical Japanese imperialists. We have our own technology, fools. Giants are just as capable of falling as a thousand ants. We and our allies shall stand against you, and your criminal behaviors will be revealed in time.
    • What allies? LOL. And when you say NYE 1963, do you mean 31 December 1963?
    • LOL. Soviet Union, Hungary, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia.
    • What Yugoslavia?
    • Allow me to repeat my previous statement from the last year - what's left of Yugoslavia and the successor states?
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • China: Military is being modernized and we ask Japan if they can accept us into the EATSP. We are also inspired by Japanese weaponry. We ask Japan if we can make their weapons our weapons.
    • Turkish Dip: The Turkish nation would gladly provide the Chinese with military weapons and economical support in exchange for a possible alliance. We have much oil and manpower that could be put to good use in the rebuilding Chinese nation, which we much remind the world, the Japanese brutally crushed in their Imperialistic dreams to rule the East Asian region with an iron fist.
    • um ... China is in shambles. We will aid to stabilize what's left of the state but you are without quite a bit of territory and I'm afraid I won't allow it to return but you can still do quite a bit with what is left. Also, I think free China would hate Japan and the EATSP quite a bit plus I'm kinda involved in Free China at the moment militarily. Nkbeeching
    • Italy: Nuclear bomb research is complete, and one is detonated in the mid-Atlantic, destroying the empty cruiser used as a target. Italy has been researching its nuclear weaponry for over a decade since the Axis collapse. Italy secretly begins a massive nuclear arms buildup. Italy also states that it is absolved from any forced alliance with either the American satellite pacts or the Soviet puppet alliance. Italy declares its utter neutrality in any wars.
    • Turkish Dip: The Turkish people wish to provide the Italians with any support or aid they may require in rebuilding their nation, economy or military, and also wish to congradulate them on their recent success in developing a nuclear weapon. A part of brotherhood is offered to them in the hopes of developing diplomatic ties that will survive the tests of time.
    • They actually tried to declare war on you. Don't go all friendly with them just yet.
    • I'm willing to look the other way for now ...
  • I've been researching for nearly two decades now. I think this is plausible especially when you consider the fact that for at least five years of the research it was Germany, Spain, Italy and the other Axis Powers. After 20 years of research Italy has had more than the plausible amount of research.
  • Sounds rather plausible to me. Italy wasn't beaten as badly as the UK or Germany during the war if I remember correctly. And it doesn't take 30 plus years to rebuild a nation (Japan was bombed from one end to the horizon and became an economic superpower during the 1960-70s). ~Viva
  • The Soviet Union begins to release its control on companies and asks foreign companies to invest in the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, research continues on all modern technologies - including stealth, rail guns and other high-tech military, science and medical equipment. The Soviet Union begins to construct roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and other public structures in less-developed African states, while at the same-time developing the nation's military and police force. Crackdown on drugs within the Soviet Union begins, particularly on cocaine, heroin and other addictive drugs.
  • Netherlands: The Netherlands agrees to sell Brazil, Suriname for a price. Netherlands declares neutrality from all alliances as the government believes it will lead to more conflict. Defenses are upgraded.
  • East Germany owns Suriname and you are already in the GO COLD.

1963

  • Korea: Dissent is quashed as the people are given more rights and focus shifts from military buildup to public services. Korea currently has 40 nuclear weapons, as well as three aircraft carriers. Research continues on a nuclear submarine, as well as space tech. Space exploration is given a priority as it boosts public morale and is useful for military purposes.
  • The United States continues its research into things. The moon launch is set for September. (Next turn, earliest plausible time for America and Japan ONLY.) Malcolm Little, a civil rights leader, is assassinated in Denver, Colorado. Outrage amongst the black community.
    • Jap Dip: The Japanese propose to the American government a final solution to the Turkish problem, a joint invasion of the Turkish state with American troops leading the assault while the Japanese navy and air force support the invasion. Due to low Japanese knowledge in desert warfare it would be unwise to send troops to die in the Middle Eastern deserts.
    • America: agrees. The GO COLD shall be involved. War Year: 1965.
    • Jap Dip: Plans will be set in motion to prepare for the conflict to come.
  • Japan: The military begins to calm down its military intervention in Free China since the current government has approached them with an offer of friendship, something that greatly surprises the Diet and the military. The preparations for the flight at the end of the year are coming into sight. Another satellite is sent into space. The first national assault helicopter is made and testing begins while a troop transport heli is also made but testing will continue. Japan sells some of its more advanced equipment to rebels in Turkey and support the more violent factions destabilize the nation as much as possible. The gang war is finally starting to calm down as several Chinese mobs are broken down by Japanese and North Chinese police forces. The bullet train continues to be constructed. The second gathering of ultra-nationalists attempts to gain support from any nation. They can be better supplied for their planned coup, they look for support from Turkish, Soviet and British support. (Just so you know, if you choose to support the ultra-nationalist attempt nothing good will come of it. The movement will fail and an immediate war will come out of it - just a fair warning). All projects are continued and a new computer comes out. Advanced research into physics begins and the institute of engineering and robotics is expanded to include the physics department. The first nuclear artillery round is made and a test shot will be made in the Manchurian mountains later in the year. Meanwhile, widespread production of nuclear weapons continues and the Japanese numbers are soon going to surpass American and Russian amounts due to American and Russian disarming. They continue to be expanded and updated with the first super carrier still under construction. The plans for an artificial island fortress are brought up again to be a possible increase to the nation's ultimate defence. Industrial growth and inter-cooperation in East Asia, plans to create a formal monetary union between Japan and Manchuria begin to increase productiveness and equality between the old allies. Colour TV's come out and they prove a large hit from the start. Yamamato prepares for his third election campaign along with the rest of the Liberal coalition. The Conservative Party proves to be a very small threat while the Labour Party goes into an alliance with the new Social Alliance to try to win the elections, but many have little hopes for the party. The Communists are still barred from elections as they have been for the past 30 years, but most Communists are now more moderate and have joined the ranks of the Labour Party. Akihito is formally accepted by the Diet as the new Emperor of Japan and he is given in a public ceremony supreme power over the armed forces and over the Diet. He states in a public presentation to the government and the high command that he will remain content with being of a ceremonial role and signing official papers but wants to be kept up to speed on the running of the country and international events. A military parade is held in Tokyo and is the largest held up to date. The Imperial troops march down the streets and in front of the palace in round strides. The Japanese corporations looking to start expanding their economics wait in the rest of Eurasia offer to invest in Soviet businesses.
  • Turkey: In preparation for the joint American and Japanese invasion, the Turks activate their missile shield near the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, and in the Levant. The strategic bomber force is placed on high alert, and nuclear arsenal readied for usage in the upcoming conflict. Young men and women flock to the mosques to ready their minds for the battle for their future, and sign up for military service. The Turkish government denounces the Japanese imperialist goals to destroy their nation, and call on their allies the Soviet Union, their satellite states, and the Turkish protectorates of Serbia, Hungary, and Bulgaria to prepare themselves for a possible Third World War. The Turks declare the attempt to invade a war of faith. The Protestant Americans and Buddhist Japanese fighting against Muslim Turkey, Catholic Eastern European, and Orthodox Russia. The imams gather in Ankara to pray to Allah for strength to give the people in their upcoming fighting, and defeat the devil invaders. The survival of the Turkish nation is at stake. Important Iraqi, Persian, and East Arabian figures meet in Baghdad to speak with the Turkish government officials to discuss how Turkey will be able to protect their people, citing an invasion will hurt them as well. The government promises that they are Turkish citizens too, and not an inch of their land shall be ceded to the invaders. The Turks reaffirm the faith of the allies in Mesopotamia and Arabia, and state that they work to protect all Muslims, not just the Turks. To better strengthen the resolve of the Greek and non-Turkish citizens in the strength of the Turkish military, the government reveals some of the fruits of their labor. The Hamle recoilless rifle, Mirage III supersonic fighter, and I61 Aslan assault rifle are publically revealed, the fruits of the government secret military spending. Turkey states that it is fully prepared to fight to the death.
  • Meant no offence last turn Viva sorry if i came out aggressively. Also define anti-missile shield
  • No problem dude. The missile shield is a series of SAM defenses set up around key areas in Turkey. These are set up mainly around important economic centers (major cities like Baghdad, Riyadh, Antioch, Istanbul, and so on), vital industry zones (Ankara, Athens, Basra, and Tehran), potential land zones (Persian Gulf region, Turkey's underbelly, and western Greece), and key blocking areas (Straits of Hormuz, straits near Istabul, gulf near Antioch, and so on). It also includes Turkey's strategic long-range bomber force, anti-missile weapons (stationary railgun systems, easier to power and maintain), and the nuclear arsenal itself.
    • Jap Dip: The Japanese government offers Turkey one last chance to give the lands they stole back their freedom and at the worst reform their state into a multi-national federation similar to the Soviet Union. Japan reminds Turkey that while Japan did fight a brutal war with China the war was provoked by the Chinese and since the end of the war cooperation between Chinese in the new republics and Japan has increased tenfold. Also, Japan does not rule East Asia but looks over and protects it. Japan's neighbors are all its allies and benefit from good relations and coexistence.
    • Turkish R: But you refuse to let your "allies" rejoin China, defend themselves, and claim them as part of your nation. So no, we will never live our lands.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
    • Jap Dip: Due to rising tensions Japan warns Siam to be on high alert and in the case of a war with the Communist bloc. If they back Turkey to supply naval forces to aid in the defence of Asia, we won't ask Siamese troops to fight in the north since the Thai aren't used to northern climates.
    • Siam Diplomacy: Prime Minister Lursakdi Sampatisiri agrees, and has Siam be on high alert following this diplomacy.
    • China: We ask Japan for land and we tell Japan that we need allies and we need to join a faction and we want to join the EATSP.
      • Jap Dip: The new Chinese states are a part of The EATSP as well. They are independent states and will not rejoin the rump Republic of China. We would also be willing to let you join the EATSP but reforms must be started in China.
      • Also, it's come to my attention that a lot of new players have joined the game within the span of a week and according to scraw they are all from the same pc. I'm using a different computer because I'm working. That's why I'm using a different IP in case anyone is curious. Come on guys, just play with one account. Be fair. Nkbeeching
  • North Republic: Gives support to Japan. The diplomatic envoy to the People's Republic of Ireland lasted for over a year, but an alliance is signed (Random. org 1-10 using numbers found on North Republic International relations section.: 1) Computer research is continued, as is Project Baldr. Any Turkish fleet found in the North Atlantic will be terminated. All Turkish people in the Republic (all four of them) are deported.
  • Argentina: With the threat of a third world war, nuclear shelters began to be built in urgency across the nation. The army is also mobilised and the defense at the Chilean frontier is increased with troups ready to invade at any time. The two additionnal carriers continue to be built with more resources going to them. The fleet is expanded and refit with all the newest technologies available. Patrols increase. The nuclear program continues with the help of the USA. The surrounding nations continue to receive their development fund. The USA is approached with an idea of an intercontinental SAM system.
  • You'll have your nukes in 1968.
  • Will I have them too that year or later - earlier? Sine dei gloriem (talk) 00:33, November 14, 2012 (UTC)
  • Later.
  • Later when, 1969-1972? and I don't know. After all, we have our joint nuclear program. Sine dei gloriem (talk) 02:25, November 14, 2012 (UTC) Argentina and I
  • Also, why does Hungary and Old Yugoslavian states are rump/Puppet states of Turkey, if he didn't even invade them or attack them?
  • I didn't have to invade them since I was already an ally of theirs. Additionally, I already held enough influence over them. With the Soviets holding the larger Eastern European states, I was left with the tiny ones. Finally, Yugoslavia, Hungary and Turkey were military and economical allies before, during and after the war.
  • Brazil:will join in the war with the United States and Japan against Turkey. The Gauss cannon weaponry is begun to produce en masse to fight in the Middle East Brazil, as well, begins to buy Jets from the US Air Force and updating them with the Gauss cannons. While this, the Pacific post in Brazil becomes one important port in the nations and after the senate agrees, Janio president the Federaçao Brasileira is officially the name of the nation, and the Federation is divided in 29 states with the current states and the Colombia Brasileira (or Colombia menor) and Peru Brasileira (or Perto Peru).
  • The Soviet Union calls for peace in the Middle East, stating it is already in a vital situation, and a world war starting there would increase the instability. Meanwhile, research into Gauss weapons, and the first prototype is under development. Stealth research continues, as well as anti-missile defense systems. The Soviet Union accepts the development request from Japan's companies from the last turn. Loosening of state control on companies continues and they have more economic freedom. Similar reforms are encouraged within Chile, Cuba and Eastern Europe (RNG: 1-7 no, 8-10 yes; 10 yes). Expansion and mondernization of the Soviet Air Force and Army begins, to help compete with the USAF, Army and USMC, and the Japanese Air Force and Army.

  • Global Events: The West African Civil War opens. Unrest begins in the Balkans against the Turkish rule. The Swedish Parliament swings towards its Socialist Party, 107-49. Meanwhile, the Communist government of Romania petitions to join the Warsaw Pact. Meanwhile, Uyghuristan begins to campaign for independence from China. (No one knows about the Japanese and American designs yet.)
  • America continues to build up its military. President Kennedy asks for, and receives by a slight margin, permission to deploy the American military to Turkey to end the Turkish War of Imperialist Aggression. President Kennedy states that the Turks have gone too far and do not know that the rest of world has ended the Age of Imperialism. Moon launch occurs. Neil Armstrong, Alan Shepherd and Michael Collins are the first men on the moon via Artemis 8. Walter Schirra and Buzz Aldrin remained in the orbital craft. HAIL!
  • Turkey: The Turkish government and the Balkan leaders meet in Athens to discuss plans to resolve the issues in the region and why the people are rebelling. The Balkan leaders explain that their people feel neglected as the Turks aren't spending enough money in the effort to rebuild their lands and increase the standard of living, and that the people feel that under their rule, they would do a better job in rebuilding. The Turks promise to increase government spending in the Balkans, and that they have not forgotten their commitments to their protectorates there. The Yugoslavians are considered close allies of Turkey, and they will not be forgotten. The Turks open up diplomatic ties with Kuwait and the UAE, and are seeking to expand the Muslim nation and develop a unity between the three nations. In Persia, calls from both Persian lands are requesting unification. The Turks send a diplomatic aide to Kerman, Persia to discuss eastern Persia's joining Turkey and the other protectorates. Eastern Persia is poorly developed, sparsely populated, and lacking infrastructure development (just like in OTL). In exchange for food, money, and developmental aid (RNG: 1-7 no, 8-10 yes; 8 yes), the rest of Persia will join as a fully self-governing protectorate of Turkey, who will have control over the nation's external affairs, but Persia will have control over internal affairs. Turkey establishes the Eastern Alliance as a political, economical, and military alliance between Turkey and its protectorates. It will oversee the distribution of aid and military forces throughout the alliance. The Soviet Union and its satellite states are offer observor status in the alliance. The secret development of a Turkish hydrogen bomb nears completion, and the expansion of their nuclear arsenal continues. The Turkish prime minister makes a trip to the Bulgarian capital of Sofia to discuss the expansion of the missile shield into the protectorate.
    • Japanese Actions: Covert Japanese dressed as Chinese and with Chinese accents begin expanding their operations in Turkey talking to and readying anti-Turkish paramilitary groups. A few set off bombs or commit public shootings against the government dressed as locals in key Turkish facilities fabricating evidence that it is done by nationalists from within the republic, planting local Turkish firearms or Soviet guns so as not to give away Japanese involvement. The places hit include the Ankara nuclear power plants and several military facilities. In one of the attacks some important Turkish research about railguns is stolen.
    • Turkish Response: The Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı (Turkish secret service), spring their trap, killing and capturing many of the spies before they can escape, using excuse that the Chinese were not welcomed guests in Turkey, and they had much cause to suspect something was amiss. An extensive crackdown reveals a vast anti-Turkish rebel group spread throughout the country. Using the knowledge to their advantage, the MİT leads Turkish, Greek, Persian, and Iraqi military units to suspected rebel hideouts, and execute judgment aganist the rebels. Information possibly linking the Japanese to act may have been recovered.
    • You don't think I wouldn't be looking into rebel activity right before a war would I?
    • Fair enough but the damage is still done.
    • Easily fixed, my political rival. I have a casus belli against Japan too, you know.
    • true but what is to come will be irrevirsable
    • I suppose. But you do know that OTL Mirage IV's do have the range to reach and bomb the Imperial Palace in Japan from Turkey, right?
    • hence my keeping the massive imperial navy on alert and you won't be able to reach Japan by then, plus my own planes have very similar capacities and will be far closer due to the navy and the naval bases throughout Asia.
    • The Imperial Navy is a navy. I only need to use a land route through the Soviet Union who is an ally. Additionally, I have a large naval presence of my own, so while your planes are busy, my ships and their planes will be active fighting your fleet in the Indian Ocean.
    • Again, I'm not using the full navy in the Indian Ocean. A lot of my navy will be in the homeland area which leaves no way to attack the Japanese homeland. It will be impossible to damage me without using nukes and if you do I will unleash the Empire's stocks - something no one wants. It will either be your loss because it's a joint invasion - not just Japan, or in the worst case scenario a stalemate with minor concessions on your part, look at your situation fighting to superpowers, I'm the least of your worries here.
    • Mutually assured destruction. I already planned to use nukes if my nation is going to be destroyed. And I only need to target your portion of China. I still have my protectorates, the Soviet Union, and their satellite states, so you and your allies against me and mine.
    • TROLOLOLOL land route through the Soviet Union to Japan? Ever hear of the Siberian Tundra and the Turkestani Desert?
  • "Hey - I invaded you a few years back and forcibly took land that wasn't mine; would you like to join my country?" As much as you'd like to believe that you have good relations with your neighbors, they don't think the same way. They despise you, you came in and took their land. People don't forget things like that. Government leaders can say whatever they want and do what they please with you at diplomatic meetings, but in the end, the masses decide and right now they all hate you.
  • Apparently you have no clue how politics in 1960s Iran worked, or even in the Middle East. Shame. From what I remember, Middle Eastern politicians don't give two s**ts about what the masses want. Has been like that since forever, can't deny it.
  • Then you should know Shi'ite hate Sunni. What's Turkey ..... Sunni. Also again, what do you mean by missile shield O.o
  • They are still Muslim, but I get the point. Anyway, I explained what the missile shield was in the last turn. My explanation is there.
  • Hold on. If Persia can't turn to Turkey because it invaded them, then why is China turning to Japan for help? Doesn't that seem a bit biased?
  • i already said that before. Work that out with the Chinese player. I have nothing to do with that.
  • I was talking to the admins. And more specifically, AP.
  • The Soviet Union reforms the Warsaw Pact into Community of Independent States (CIS) and all former members of the Warsaw Pact are full members of the CIS. The CIS also welcomes Romania upon their petition to join the Warsaw Pact, but due to the new reforms, joins the CIS. As of September of 1963, the members of the CIS are: the USSR, Poland, Finland, East Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, and Mongolia. A request to join the CIS is extended to Cuba and Chile. The Soviet Union assures the United States that the requests to Chile and Cuba are to expand prosperity to the nations and not to deter GO-COLD's Power. Meanwhile, research continues into weapons, medicine, science, and all other major technologies. The first Soviet railgun is developed in the Siberian Tundra and manages to sink a pratice aircraft carrier in the Bering Sea.
  • Japan: After years of low activity the Imperial Japanese Army begins mobilization that will be completed by the end of 1964, while the IJN begins planning the largest naval campaign it has ever attempted with a large portion remaining in the northern Pacific as security in case the new CIS goes to war over the invasion of Turkey. The rest are being moved to the Indian Ocean and being stationed at the port of Singapore, supported by the Indonesian Navy. Manchuria also begins mobilization as does the North Chinese Republic. Crime rates begin to drop again on the mainland as the joint police forces finally begin to break down the Mafia gangs. The first nuclear artillery ever made is tested. The tactical nuke is tested deep in Manchuria and is a complete success destroying a small town built solely for the test. The test is down in the greatest secrecy due to it being a weapon considered underhanded and only for last case scenarios, production of the artillery type begins.Though the Tactical nuclear artillery rounds are less destructive then the ICBMs they are considerable more dangerous on the battle field since the can be used to wide out large amounts of troops or level an area without warning. A new jet fighter is designed, the Zero R-24 and is highly improved over the Zero 22 though the 22 is still considered one of the best jets in the world and production begins. Production of the new choppers (one is based on the Chinook - will come up with a name later, while the other is similar to the Mil Mi-24 but with many design changes - again will make a name later) begin to start supporting the future campaign. Research continues into all projects. Operations in Free China are greatly scaled down for now. The bullet train is nearly completed, and four more power plants are built in Japan. The monetary union between Manchuria and Japan is finalized with the Yen being the temporary currency until another one can be made after the war to come. A new plan is drafted for war in Asia named Operation Rising Tide. It consists of extensive defensive operations to the north and the largest bombardment campaign since the end of the Sino-Japanese war targeting military and economic targets, and the breaking of the fighting capacities of both Turkey and Russia (if it gets involved.) Other details are kept top secret only for the eyes of the Japanese high command while the rest is shared with Japan's allies in Asia and the USA. Upgrades to the 1957 bombers are made to prepare them for large scale bombing campaigns. Smallpox is completely eradicated from East Asia and the operation is extended to Africa now. Testing into depleted Uranium rounds begin for small arms. Japan launches on December 31 the Japanese moon mission which lands on the moon a mere three months after the American one and it is televized publicly as the Flag of the Rising Sun is planted on the ground. Former Emperor Hirohito is present at the launching along with several prominent leaders of the diet and the high command. Funding to anti-Turkish groups continue. A newer Tortoise Tank is made - the Tortoise 63 - and is modeled a bit after the older one but with newer techs. It stands as the new Japanese heavy tank, less mobile then the NTO but far more armored and just as strong in firepower. Internal security is increased to avoid covert operations happening in Japan or the EATSP and counter-espionage operations begin as well.
  • North Republic: We congratulate you on your moon landing and the smallpox news.
  • China: military is being modernized and we begin a nuclear project. We secretly ask Japan to help us with our nuclear project and we begin to develop a new tank - the dragon tank - and we create the RS-63 assault rifle and we ask Japan if they can train our military.
  • Romania: A new movement is becoming popular in Romania. The leader is Artur Demlikov. Artur's goal is to create a government in Romania, while also being a USSR vassal. Quote: " We hope to keep peace with the USSR in efforts to create a government for the people of Romania. Romania is still a vassal of USSR but we want to continue efforts to create support for a Romanian government in a peaceful manner." Artur Demlikov does not wish for a war of independence but he made the statement "We will see how USSR responds to our efforts for a regional government. We do not wish to sever all ties with the USSR but we do wish for a regional ruler with some power. If the time comes we will act on a military action." Artur also uses the "CIS" as a point in his speeches for a government.
  • Italy: Italy secretly continues a massive nuclear arms buildup. Italy also states that it is absolved from any forced alliance with either the American satellite pacts or the Soviet puppet alliance. Italy declares its utter neutrality in any wars. Italy now has roughly 65 nuclear bombs and more are being built at the fastest possible rate. Italy secretly offers Spain an alliance and SECRETLY begins funding anti-American rebels in American occupied Germany. Italy grants all of Eritreas peoples Italian citizenship.
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • North Republic: Sends a diplomatic envoy to Sweden to set up an embassy. Project Baldr continues. Research on computer tech continues. Smallpox is eradicated from Western Europe. Mirage IV's are upgraded to to carry more fuel. The new variant is named the Mirage IV. A (Desgnated name: Thor). The operational range has increased to 1000 miles. Training of the NRM is going well due to joint training with our ally Quebec. Project Baldr continues.
    • Turkey R: The Turkish nation offers the North Republic a chance to return to the fold. They will not last as an independent nation if America gets its way, and they will more than less likely end up as a GO GOLD puppet state. Remember your ally!
    • They're already in GO COLD and there's no such thing as a puppet state except your little minions in the Balkans who hate you, anyway.
  • Argentina: Try to keep good relation with Chile but the defensive position are uptgrapted as soon as possible. Meanwhile, development fund continue to be send across latin America and negotiation with the various leaders begun. The navy continue to be build along the military force, the nuclear shelters also continue to be build and rations begun to be build up in the case that thing go bad. The parliament becomes divided in the Rurkish case as many call for war but isolationists call for non-intervention.
  • Persia (Someone make sure I can do all this; haven't been on this for a while): The Shah opens forty percent of oil refineries for foreign companies, under pressure of the poor Persian economy. The military undergoes corruption inspection; the inspection of corruption goes through attempts to find bribes of individual troops to contract with other nations. It notes the slower growth of Islam compared to ten years ago. Noticing the build up of troops around the world, notably worried about Iran, it mobilizes it's army to defensive positions; the Persian Army is small, and ten years behind in technology.

  • I get the feeling that these events are becoming more and more biased as the game continues. There was no unrest when Japan invaded China, yet the unrest is spreading across my nation despite the fact that Turkey is more benevolent than most other nations. It's been thirty years since I conquered Greece, and the Balkans were taken peacefully, so there is no reason for them to be revolting, especially when Turkey and Yugoslavia were close allies during the game. ~Viva
  • LOL XD you conquered them peacefully? Turkey and Yugoslavia were allies? Do you realize what BS of epic proportions you're telling us? Viva, you invaded Axis nations as an Axis-leaning/biased nations in the middle of World War II. Muslim is not Muslim. I grew up in the most Bengali populated areas of Queens, and guess what? Sunnis hate Shia. Some Bengali people are nasty. One time a Shia family from Pakistan moved into my apartment complex, two weeks later the Bengalis signed a petition asking for them to be evicted. Same thing with Orthodox vs. Catholic in the olden days long gone. They hate each other. Regardless of Middle Eastern politician's ambitions, their number one goal is to stay independent, and to...
    • Apparently people can't read. Go back to WW-II, and you'll see that Turkey and Yugoslavia WERE allies, and we both fought against Bulgaria and Greece (Yugoslavia was a player nation at the time).
    • Which was the third most implausible thing in the history of this game.
    • I don't understand what you're talking about, so I'm not even going to explain further.
  • Viva, please realize that people, not politicians, are those that drive a nation. Politicians can tell you that everything is fine and dandy but it's the people who have the final say. Conquered people eventually revolt and perpetual feelings of hatred and nationalism; this is especially true for the Balkans who were once ruled by the Ottomans and will certainly not accept your rule now when there is a chance to rebel. If Greeks, Persians, Iraqis, Arabians, and others didn't like you before they certainly despise you now no matter how "amicable" you want to pass your government off as.
  • I realize everything and I don't need to be reminded. But what you're not answering is why are you targetting Turkey instead while Japan gets a free pass to rule China - a nation that has hated them since antiquity. Is it simply living as if Japan never invaded at all? No resistance, no uprisings, no nothing.
  • Because. The three alls guaranteed their control over the coast and rivers, and the desert people were just "OH SHIT." when it happened. The End.
  • Lo unto me!
  • Well, I have only been here two turns ... So this is my take. After decolonization, the Middle East was an explosive barrel of nationalism and loyalty to religious sects. They wouldn't take anyone's crap. Neither would China. However, the Chinese were heavily weakened and became landlocked. Now they have huge problems and face independence campaigns among other things. Basically they no longer have the money nor the power to do much, though Japan ruling uninhibited is a stretch and I'm surprised rebellions haven't been made by mods. The people you conquered, now free of a government, are free to amass and revolt against your inappropriately-timed imperialist government.
  • Makes sense.
  • Quick thing - I have no problem with there being revolts in controlled China, but if you read my turns you'll see that I personally included an extensive guerrilla campaign against Japanese control during the Sino-Japanese war and for some four or five years after, but I broke it down extensively through aid to the populace and repression. 700,000 dead in concentration camps would silence a lot of revolts and Japan actually didn't use the three. All I used other tactics. Read what I did carefully. Either way I'm planning a major incident in China within the next six years so can you leave the China situation to me. I've been fairly unbiased all game and I will continue to be so. Also, Japan doesn't rule China. We have created a series of puppet states throughout East Asia that have self-determination. We simply influence their economy and hold strong ties with them. The fact remains that they are dependent on Japan for survival in this game due to the fact that I created an alliance system that makes everyone interdependent. So Japan's interests effectively become the whole alliances' interest. For a last note, I have kept all my allies updated socially and technologically and steps have been taken to reconcile with the Chinese over the past decade along with grant rights to all. You, on the other hand, have simply conquered and forced to obey. NkBeeching
  • Dude, that is exactly what I did, too. The Turkish protectorates have control over their internal affairs, and they can maintain military forces much like what Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan did during OTL WW-II (Manchuria, Serbia, Vichy France). Like you, I don't actually rule over the protectorates, but handle their external affairs much like with Britain during the 1800s. They handle their people and I handle their diplomacy. I provide aid to the people so they can rebuild, and I crack down on rebellion when needed. And unlike China, the Turks outnumber any two protectorates put together, meaning that Turkey can deal with one or two rebellious protectorates, and still has the military aid of all the others. I'm doing exactly what you are, I even made a page about it. So no, you're wrong. I conquered, and I reconciled. ~Viva
  • Siam: Military continues being built up. Surakiart Phathanothai continues writing the third issue of โทโฮไคคิดัน 2 and will be released mid year. Meanwhile, some railways continue construction and some others are finished.
  • Italy: Italy secretly continues a massive nuclear arms buildup. Italy declares its utter neutrality in any wars. Italy now has roughly 185 nuclear bombs and more are being built at the fastest possible rate. Construction of fortifications on the Italian borders and coastline are complete. Italy SECRETLY continues funding anti-American rebels in American-occupied Germany. Military (army, navy, air force, marine corps, special ops, and coast guard) buildup continues in both the heartland and Eritrea. Italy sends 45 nuclear bombs and plans for nukes to Turkey, and Italy declares its full support for Turkey in its current conflict.
    • Italian Diplomacy: Italy declares war on all rebels opposing the Turkish government in the Balkans and sends 45 nukes to Turkey as well as plans for nuclear bombs so Turkey can build up their own arsenal. Italy offers Turkey a secret alliance while Italian troops are mobilized as is the navy, coast guard, marines, and the air force. Italy begins moving troops to aid Turkey.
    • Turkish Response: We thank the Italian government for their support in our time of need. We do not forget our allies.
    • ...I thought you were "utterly neutral" in any war.
  • France: Military is being modernized and we fund anti-Turkish rebels in the Middle East and our first nuclear weapon is completed, plus, we secretly fund anti-Communist rebels in East Germany.
    • North Republic Diplomacy: We would like to buy the Faroe Islands from you. Please name your price. We also propose an alliance. We would station some Mirage IV: Thor in a covert base so that if need be you could protect yourself from Italy by having us carpet bomb them.
  • Netherlands: Increases the Army corps and the navy. Military tech still going and more defenses in the country are put up.
  • North Republic: Project Baldr continues. We continue with computer research. The military continues to train. Worried by Italian armament we propose that they be handed sanctions (we will take this to the UN if it becomes serious enough). The Socialist Party is by now mainly a figurehead of the Green Party, which is expected to swoop the next election.
  • Romania: As the independence movement gains momentum, Artur Demlikov sends a formal letter to the USSR asking for diplomatic independence while military factories and forces remain under USSR control, as well as a signing of full CIS membership for ten years.
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday? You just joined. You are independent.
  • Korea: Korea continues to research military technology. The High Altitude Warplane Project continues, with the high altitude surveillance plane already finished. The plane is sent on a test run over Japan, where it is undetected by radar. It returns successfully and gives highly detailed footage of downtown Toyko. Korea’s navy begins to gear up for war as war with Turkey seems inevitable. The marines double recruitment centers and propaganda.
