The Amharic populations of Axum and Medina Jamil express discontent at the Emperor's favor toward Addis Ababa, where the new court would be mostly Tigray and Arab people.

The Federated Republic of Aztlan incorporates California as the fourth state of its union, although the assumption of California's unstable infrastructure takes a toll on the federal treasury.

Zail Singh turns out to be allergic to shampoo.

Consisting of 600,000 people, the Thuggee religion who worship exclusively Kali continue to persist in south Maharashtra. Now absorbed in the Dravidic Empire, these communities continue their sacrificial attacks on the foreign occupiers.

Steam power takes off across Britain.

The University of Islamic Studies in Zurich translates Rise of the Modern Caliphate: 1400-1700 AD into German.

The Coptic Pope reiterates to the Emperor of Ethiopia his desire to maintain common communion as laid out in the Council of Alexandria, and participate more informally with Catholic politics.

The Army of Zakia is so successful against the Malindi people, many of the soldiers attempt to mutiny and establish an independent Emirate in the heart of the Savannah.

A large flood from the Black Sea hits Trebizond.

The Muslim population of Ethiopia is uneasy at the king's recent promises to convert his entire domain to Christianity.

  • Hawaii: Settlement and colonization of Hawaii's many territories continues. With Hawaiian assistance the Polynesian Confederacy spreads to most of the surrounding region, with native islands and tribes being integrated into the union. Another expedition is sent via Angu-Zia to reach the southern continent and hopefully make contact with the people encountered years prior. The group stops at a group of islands (Santa Cruz Islands), which they name Mamaopaena. The inoculations ordered by the king continue and prove to be successful in stopping the spread of disease. The Catholic population has substantially grown due to the government's support, as well as from the cooperation with the Papal States and its missionaries and dignitaries. The king issues the Edict of Toleration, which legalizes all forms of Christianity, in order to appeal to the small but growing minority religions within the nation, such as Russian Orthodoxy. The Buddhist population within the nation also grows, although still a very small minority.
  • Empire of Uluru: With the Council of Ngarridjeri concluded, the Empire enters into its protective status under the three nations it can trust: China, Britain, and Swahili. Any other attempt to colonize the continent will be blocked by these three powers. Islam continues to grow among the countryside, with Christianity spreading quickly in the cities. Emperor Daku retires to the Ochre Palace in Ngarridjeri, confident that he had established a nation in which his people will be eternally safe. Daku expresses his utmost gratitude to all his court, for enduring with his rule after all these years, in spite of the occasional irrational decision or outside questions. Only time will tell what further adventures await the nation.
  • Iberia: As steam spreads throughout Britain, many Iberian engineers also become interested in it. An Iberian Engineer develops a steam engine based on British designs and King Pedro hands over the modernization of his navy to the Iberian Naval Company, which will exist as a mandated company that will modernize his military all while making a profit. The Naval Company will also be permitted to raid settlements not under Iberian or any other power's protection. Prince Pedro also announces his plans to use the new steam power to build equipment that will help in the construction of canal in Panama that will allow the passage of ships. The Naval Company starts making ships out of metal, which prove to be more durable and can work better in tropical climates. An Iberian Engineer designs a steamboat made of metal called "the Guinea" which will be captained by explorer Roberto Levin, who plans to use the ship to travel along the Senegal River and establish an Iberian colonial presence there. Iberia sends an envoy to Uluru asking to sign a treaty concerning trade and Iberia possibly buying a port city (Uluru Response). The idea of the Civilizing Mission continues to spread, and Roberto Levin becomes especially interested. In Senegal, Portuguese is introduced as a trade language. King Pedro also begins lessening the power of the Catholic Church, making it more of a ceremonial entity. With the wave of colonial rebellions, Iberia establishes the Dominion of New Granada (Columbia and Panama) as an entity with its own parliament and legislature, but under personal union with the Iberian Crown. They do the same with the Amazon colony and name it the Dominion of Amazon. King Pedro also institutes several reforms in Iberia to make it more democratic. These include freedom of speech, mild freedom of religion, local elected legislatures, and more private control of land by government mandated companies.
  • There is absolutely no way in hell you adopted that fast. It took ten to 15 years OTL for anyone to develop something similar and then even longer to implement. No just no -Feud
  • Empire of Ethiopia: The Emperor Recognizes the overwhelming Muslim majority that is in Ethiopia as Islam is the second most practiced religion in Ethiopia, he attempts to send preachers to Muslim neighborhoods to try to convert them. On New Year's Eve a parade In the Nile River happens showing off the newly rebuilt Ethiopian Navy with its nine battleships and mighty fierce flagship the "S.S. Theodore Mark 1", Troops march with the boats, blocking anyone from accidentally falling into the Nile, fireworks go off and the emperor can be seen at the front of the ship holding the Ethiopian Flag and Giving a Heroic Pose. After the parade The Emperor chooses a very Famous Captain of an Ethiopian envoy: Jonathan T. Abu to General Admiral of The Ethiopian Navy. Slavery is finally made illegal after many decades and centuries of farmers using slaves for hard labor and Harvesting, the emperor uses this to his advantage to His Converting Campaign and sense slaves were banned from practicing religion previously, he could convert all, or at least a majority of them to Christianity! The Emperor continues his revamping program for the military with authorizing for ten battleships to be built every year and for conscription for boys 17 and older are required to serve in the military for at least four or five years in exchange for free health care and a free education.
  • No way either of these is possible. You have too many non-core pops to have legitimate conscription, and no way you're building ten capital ships a year. Your a land power not a naval one. -Feud
  • Okay, I get the navy part, but what do you mean that I can't conscript people into the army?
  • Empire of Dravidia: The Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran continued his rule over his domain from his seat of government, the city of Hyderabad whilst his Grand Vizier, Sadullah Khan managed day-to-day army can't buildup affairs. The Dravidian population stands at about 53.7 million with the people flocking to cities like Mysore, Hyderabad, Tanjore, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kollam, Masulipatnam, Tirupati and Mangalore as well as various other minor cities and townships throughout the south; primarily due to the rapid urbanization. This inflow of manpower has allowed the Empire to rapidly expand upon its fishery, pearl, shipbuilding, spices and tea industries, key businesses for those residing in coastal towns and port cities. It was agriculture though that served as Dravidia's largest economic focus, selling such goods as rice, wheat, maize, potatoes, indigo, opium, wheat, cannabis and other crops to European merchants as well as those from other states. Among these cash crops, jute, mulberry, silk, and muslin, in particular served as the most important exports given the general need for them in Europe. Meanwhile, the Dravidian navy experimented on new larger classes of flag ships, churning out first rate ships for various fleets, and more third rates, and fourth rates with the occasional second rate to augment the smaller patrol fleets with the majority of the imperial navy harboured at the Kollam, Vizhingam and Mangalore ports. The Dravidian navy firmly stands at 900 ships divided into two Pirivus. Along the same time, a standardized army of roughly 60,000 men existed with an additional 100,000 conscripts to defend the state from any foreign invasion with the soldiers armed with flintlock rifles, and supported by iron-cased rocket artillery, designed indigenously in the city of Tanjore. Apart from the national army, an Imperial Guard was also propped up, mainly to protect the Monarch and his household from any threat. As such, quite a bit of importance was given to the production of firearms and gunpowder, with Tanjore soon becoming the epicentre of the Dravidian arms and rocket industry. Besides the firearms, the infantry was also equipped with daggers and swords to be utilised in close combat against the enemy. Along the same time, the Dravidian Renaissance was in full swing with pan-Dravidian movements such as the Young Dravidia movement established that espoused rationalism and atheism as the common denominators of civil conduct amongst the educated masses. Meanwhile, the use of Dakhini spreads widely in the newly acquired Goan and Marathi lands, with the people of the Deccan and the Nagpur-Jagdalpur region now speaking mainly this language. Along the same time, Christianity once more began to grow amongst the Dalit populace of Dravidia, largely due to rapidly expanding Christian missionary network in the state, with many of the missionaries setting up schools in Dalit villages. Given the poor conditions in which the Dalits lived due to the caste system, conversion to Christianity or to Islam, either one of the Abrahamic religions was seen as an easy way to escape the millenniums of institutional discrimination and persecution that they had faced. Meanwhile, the Grand Vizier made further arrangements for the settlement of Dravidians in Balochistan with most of these migrants settling in the Sulaiman Mountains or along the Makran coast. By now, the population of the province had reached 400,000 of which there were about 25,000 Dravidians. In an attempt to properly enforce Dravidian rule, the Grand Vizier offered to provide incentives to the various nomadic Baloch tribes of the region, offering them the supply of food from farms managed by the Dravidians. Concurrently, mining was also started in the province as the Vizier Mengal recognized potential for Balochistan's copper industry. Yet another victory was achieved as the Goan's were defeated at the Battle of Kolapur, forcing them to retreat to their final stronghold, their capital city of Ratnagiri. Unfortunately for them, the Dravidian army under the Emperor pursued them right to the cities doorsteps before laying siege to it. These forces were soon subsequently joined by 135,000 levies from the North who had proven victorious at Pune and captured the city. Simultaneously, the navy imposed a blockade upon the city, having already defeated the Goan navy at the Battle of Kajali. Meanwhile, fighting continued in the city of Aurangabad as the Marathas fought with tooth and nail, ferociously defending their city against the invaders and inflicting as many as 50,000 losses upon the Dravidians. Even Prince Ziyad was injured at one point as an arrow pierced into his shoulder, forcing him to retreat back to the encampments before returning once the wound had healed. Nevertheless, despite the heavy losses, the battle was slowly and gradually shifting in favour of the Dravidians as not only were the Maratha's being pushed back but many of them had also lost heart after learning that Pune had fallen with many now defecting over to the Dravidian side. The Dravidians may have acquired the Goa Sultanate's riches following the battles of Solapur and Kolapur but it came at a cost. It seemed they had also inherited the Thuggee cult of Maharashtra which had now started attacking the Dravidians in hopes of pleasing the bloodthirsty warrior Goddess of the Hindus, Kali. In any case, seeing an opportunity hoping to sway the Thuggees over to the Emperor's side, the Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan sent an envoy to elders of the cult, offering them all of the inhabitants of Ratnagiri as sacrifices if the Thuggee's aided the Dravidians in the assault against the city. [Mod Response Needed]
  • Aztlan Federation: The President of the Aztlan federation José María Teclo Morelos y Pavón Met and held talks with former Emperor of the Californian Empire Philipe Augusthino Diltwa I. They spoke about many things mostly military experience and the political structure of California. The president does criticise how Iberian friendly he was even during the war of Aztlan Federation but José does admit that Iberia should be kept a friend of his new nation. The former Californian "Forças armadas nacionais" and the "Forças armadas reais" are both incorporated into the Aztlan federation with the Aztlan army now know as the "Forças armadas federais". This army of Our nation is mostly based on the former Iberian structure and on the Structure of Californian and Mzerkan army that was used in the war of independence.
  • Italian League: Rebuilding of the military is still underway, hastened by the recent war. Trento and Bozen are heavily fortified as they were before the war. We again make communications with Lombardy, Savoy and the other states of northern Italy asking them to peacefully resume the deal that we had before the Belkan invasion, noting that we created Lombardy and gave them their independence, and we can protect them further (Mod Response). After the swift invasion of Sicily the state is reinstated as a vassal of the League, after Palermo falls and southern Italy. The people are treated with respect and dignity, and allowed the autonomy and rights they previously had, as long as they go back to respecting the previous arrangement held between the two states.
    • Belkan Dip: We demand the full withdrawal of the league from Sicily or the League will Face both the Papal State and Belka in the Field of Battle once again.
    • Mod btw your population score is way to high. With the loss of everything before and your major scorched earth thing from the last war the League at best has four million people. Please change your algorithm and troop strength accordingly. Also the league can raise maybe 100,000 max in its current state. -Feud
    • Hold up. What league? Didn't the Congress of Ravenna split the former league between the Papal States and Belka? As far as I'm aware, the League no longer exists. ~Cal
    • JK, the league was dismantled. I guess Cal and I need to do something with it. -Feud
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The army of Zakia defeats the returning army of Northern Malindi in the battle of Lake Natron. The army of Zakia ambushed the hastily marching army of Northern Malindi, resulting in its destruction. However, the delay of the army of Zakia meant that the Army of Zanzibar and the Army of Mombasa has managed to form up near Mt. Kilimanjaro. The combined armies of 80,000 faced off the army of Zakia of 45,000 at Mt. Longido, between two ridges. The Fundamentalists demonstrated great bravery in their religious fervor, and under the masterful hand of Zakia, was almost able to defeat the Royalist armies. However, a 15,000 strong charge of Oromo Cavalry, launched by Zakia toward a Royalist flank, was broken up by the Grand Battery strategy developed in Qamar and the two ridges, which forced them to advance in a narrow and condensed column. Following the great failure of this charge, the Royalist armies were able to encircle the fundamentalist with an inverted wedge. Being outnumbered and encircled, Zakia broke off and returned back North, raiding farms. He left with only 4000 cavalry left and only 22,000 men in the Army of Zakia, while the Royalist armies suffered a loss of 15,000 men. The two armies begin to march northward. In the north, the Fundamentalists had formed up a second army, the army of Mogadishu, which begins a march cross the River Tana toward Malindi. The deserters and mutinous soldiers also join the army of Mogadishu. On the island of Qamar, the army of Quelimane re-establishes total control. A garrison of 10,000 soldiers are left to remain of the island, while 30,000 is sent to the mainland to reinforce the armies. With most of the Qamarese navy destroyed, the Royalist navy begins a piracy and raiding campaign across the entire coast of Fundamentalist Swahili. The 4000 men of the army of Quelimane acts as a landing party/ marine detachment, including the now famous Gospel Division.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continue development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. The economy is slowly integrated into that of Royalist Swahili following the facilitation of trade through roads and the influence of Swahili merchants.
    • Rowzi: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. The economy is slowly integrated into that of Royalist Swahili following the facilitation of trade through roads and the influence of Swahili merchants.
    • Swahili Diplomacy to Dravidia: We propose an alliance and trade agreement with Dravidia.
    • Men are placed on the border between Swahili and Ethiopia just in case they Invade or accidentally trespass on Ethiopian land, The Emperor sends a Diplomat to befriend the Swahili.
    • Swahili Diplomacy to Magadh: We propose an alliance with Magadh.
    • Magadh Diplomacy: Magadh accepts the alliance.
  • Swiss Confederacy: The delegates of the Tagsatzung have met once again, in order to try to alleviate the rising tensions between the Northerners and Southerners. After many months of deliberation, the Great Compromise of 1790 is enacted in mid-November. The comprise states that Switzerland will remain a lose confederacy, with the cantons still being mostly autonomous, and that Zurich will be the permanent Vorort, and therefore the de facto capital, of the SC. In return for this, the Northerners have agreed in declaring the Swiss Confederacy independent of what remains of the Holy Roman Empire. The two sides have also agreed on sending diplomats to the Papal States and Britain, in order to cement the idea of the SC becoming an independent state. The German version of Rise of the Modern Caliphate: 1400-1700 proves popular in Zurich and other cities with universities, as the new history provides a new spark of Orientalism within the cities.
  • Belkan Federation: With the re-expansion of the Italian league, Vozdh Milosevic annoyed with Italian Impudence Raises a Force of nearly 300,000 to the border with the league and demands their withdrawal from Trento and Sicily in all due haste, Belka dismantled the expansionist league for a reason, this will not happen again. The Papal state is called to raise its own army in response to the League and confirm a Policing action of the League. As a result of this as well the Belkan navy is deployed in Earnest and it responds by blockading the League daring them to challenge the navy. With nearly 50 ships parked off the coast, and Belka maintaining local troop superiority the Italians would be Foolish to meet on the field of Battle. Austria while knowing of their bad blood with Belka offers to return Trento in return for their Help against the League if they don't stand down (mod). While this has flared up the Belkan government is not entirely concerned of this matter and the preparation in Northern Africa continues. Tunis is continually Fortified and a series of forts are constructed on the border with the League as forward operating Bases. The population reaches 19 million flat out this year.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain:  Tariffs remain high on imports keeping Arcadia currently as Britain's main trading partner partner. To keep pushing up agricultural production more land is drained of water to access more farm lands. As part of mercantilism policies coal is taxed heavily if sold abroad. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. The rise of the steam engine powers the coal mines pushing Britain to the lead in production while factories are also powered by them. Iron, cotton and other goods are all produced in new mills, factories and smelting plants. Patents are expanded on the steam engines and the sale of them overseas is forbidden as they are considered of national importance. The raise in farmer's poll tax is halted but more people continue to move to cities as they struggle under the burden. This causes an increase in investment in farming as the land has to be worked more labour efficiently. England has 7.7 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 4.7 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. The British army has 3000 in Portsmouth, 3000 in Aldershot, 2000 in Scotland, 3000 in Ireland while 2000 in Arcadia, 2000 in Casablanca, 1000 in English Maiam, 3000 in Haiti as well as 500 in St George, St Helena, New Canterbury and Bay of Kost. Criminals are deported to Arcadia. The navy has 50 ships in New London, Port-au-Prince and the remaining divided between Bristol and Portsmouth. As the proportion of urban to rural increases due to population growth cities expand as more factories grow. Trade with Uluru grows now that they have gold with everything from fishing hooks to guns being traded. The agreement the British have with the Uluru is also carried out. Sir Robert Clive continues to befriend the Emperor of Southern India. The south Indians are on their own in this whole Thuggee thing currently, though.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Kingdom of Iroquois fearing conflict with natives or Burgundian or anyone really passes the military establishment act and restricts the passage of British troops. They do offer a number of experienced British officers positions in their forces and they establish a 2000 strong professional force. The three Kingdoms have their first separate Parliament elections this year. Each of the three kingdoms maintain a free trade status with Britain while restrict trade to other European powers. The Kingdom of Savannah continues to expand westward 50 px from the Mander (Tennessee River) toward the Mecipici reaching the Iberian borders. The Kingdom of Avalon expands 50 px west toward Lake Superior. The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westward in search of water. The three Kingdom's still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold There maintains a large export market to Britain for cash crops and staple foods especially cotton as the British cotton industry is rapidly growing. The population of Avalon is 0.7 million, Iroquois has 1.3 million and Savannah has one million.
  • Papal States: After the promising diplomatic overtures from Ethiopia last year, the Pope asks the Coptic Church  to send a delegation to the ongoing Council of Vasiligrad. His Holiness writes to his Coptic equivalent, asking whether his Church would be open to having a Cardinal. The Papal Military is put on high alert given events on the Italian Peninsula. Missions continue, with continued focus on the Zulu, Uluru and Western Arcadia.
    • The Coptic Pope agrees to having a Cardinal And Sends a Delegation to the council of Vasiligrad.
  • Saxony: With training continuing by the Saxon Army, a new form of artillery using grapeshot weapons is implemented for the first time in cannons. The Volksgeist is written by Arnold Huber an enlightened individual and a believer in a connection between groups of people's cultures and what basically brings them together and makes them united. His latest book talks about German speaking pride and unity and the belief that each and every German speaking person is connected with one group of people. His book quickly spreads across Saxony and his writings inspired many to believe in his ideas and long thought out philosophical ideas. Towns and cities across the nation begin to quickly catch up to the rest of Europe with modern designs and technology. A new Winter Holiday Palace is being made near the Rhine. Road development continues on. Cavalry and other forms of military support are recruited with a total of 9400 being selected this year to do five years of advanced training. Crop Growth continues on with fruitful harvest being made. Meteorology becomes such a popular form of scientific study that the first National Network of Meteorological Observers is made called Sächsische Meteorologische Gesellschaft. The Leader of Saxony, Otto I lives to see another year.

1791Edit

The Thuggees agree to the Emperor's agreement, but this action forever gives the emperor the public image of a monstrous killer to much of the Maratha people, as well as some Dravidians.

A new wave of smallpox strikes the populations of Iroquois, Salish and Comanches, weakening those states.

An eccentric businessman in Saxony begins funding the largest mud-baked brick Gothic castle in history (mud event)

The Zulu empire sees its first transfer of power between a Christian father and son with the Crown Passing to Solomon II who very quickly begins new programs of settlement and expansion.

  • Aztlan Federation: After a wave of smallpox hit nations bordering us,Our Federal Senate Asks the Pueblo Federation and Comanche Kingdom to join our nation (as a new state for the pueblo) to be able to give them the full Aztlan Medication and technology. (Pueblo response and mod response). The federal senate also asks the Iberians to buy Hispaniola and East Caribbean Islands to get Our nation use them as a Port. Our "Forças Armadas Federais" numbers are expanded slowly by fully training militias that fought during the war of independence. Our president also meets up With his governors that have been appointed yet. To discus new lands would become states and in what manner states would be become them.
    • In spite of being weakened, the Comanches won't be annexed so easily. -mod
    • The Pueblo Confederacy: We refuse. We have technology a-plenty. We were a respected ally of Iberia. We are offended by your offer.
  • China: The Eastern-rite Church (or the Holiest Procurator of the Heavenly Teachings in the East) relocates its base to Kunming, Yunnan, as the epicentre of Christianity in China shifts from the Korean Peninsula to southern coastal China. Within Korea, a revival in Confucianism and Muslim continues, as many formerly devout Eastern-rite Christians are dissatisfied with the Church's alleged corruption and its policy of realigning its doctrines with standard Catholicism (particularly an enforcement of the Sacraments and the Holy Trinity). This also triggers a larger following in Catholicism. A centralized Confucian clergy is established, known as the Holy Confucian Church, incorporating elements of Emperor worship, with the Emperor asserted as the "Son of Heaven". To improve soil fertility and prevent soil erosion, crop rotation is adopted. Irrigation and more intensive methods of agriculture, as well as the usage of all idle cultivatable land (using New World crops such as potatoes and maize for land unsuitable for wet-rice cultivation) to increase agricultural productivity and crop yield. The production of cash crops are discouraged and farmers are encouraged to cultivate grains, leaving merchants and commercial plantations to monopolize on the cultivation of cash crops. Urbanization is restricted via the Hukuo policy, with a tenth of the population living in urban areas. Land property laws are, however, liberalized. The usage of coal begins to rise once again as reserves of timbre dwindle, with reserves of high-quality anthracite in Hamgyeong being extensively mined. Gold mining sees a boom (as gold underpins the paper currency). Metallurgy and iron mining is subsidised by the government, with government-supervised smelting facilities turning poor-quality pig iron into wrought iron. Gunpowder production also flourishes, with both it and wrought iron being used in the production of weaponry, armoury and artillery. Arsenals containing modern firearms such as flint-lock rifles and multiple-rocket launchers are constructed, in-accordance to the policy of militarization. Commercialization continues, with a boom in the production of handicrafts and textiles supplemented by a labour dividend and strong domestic and external demand. Infrastructural development continues, with basic sanitation and hygiene being promoted to reduce the spread of infectious diseases, with public bathhouses, spas, latrines and sewage, being built in urban zones. In Zaihaibian, Suolong and Nangang both expand, having a total of fifty thousand colonists. Fire-fallow cultivation is encouraged, leading to rapid deforestation of the forest, with local tribes being given the choice of conversion into Confucianism and autonomy, or being forcibly expelled or massacred.
    • Nivkh Commandery: Tiger Pastries Inc., a subsidiary of Lady Lin Tea, continues to flourish as a business. The Nivkh Prince-Governor (which is the member of the Nivkh Ayzik branch of the House of Kim) continues to adopt Korean and Chinese architecture, paving roads to facilitate transport, and replacing wood and thatch roofing with stone bricks and clay tiles, respectively.
    • Sakha (protectorate): The Khan continues to adopt Korean and Chinese architecture, paving roads to facilitate transport, and replacing wood and thatch roofing with stone bricks and clay tiles, respectively. Siberian crab-apples become a local renowned fruit, and is particularly prized in Korea and northern China.
    • Xizang (protectorate): Lhasa, the capital, is expanded and modernized. The Tibetan clergy continues to administer the protectorate, with its leader, the Dalai Lama, being considered a vassal or substitute monarch. Many Tibetans are encouraged (via financial incentives) to become more sedentary, with food instead being supplied from nearby Sichuan (thereby reducing over reliance in inefficient herding).
    • North Mongolia: Yurt is further settled. A healthy aquaculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from the Lake Baikal. A census is taken showing the population to be a measly 100,000 inhabitants.
  • Empire of Ethiopia: The peasants in the new territory (who used to be small uncivilized tribes) start to set restless toward the Ethiopians, the peasant farmers aren't that into Ethiopian Technology, most of them don't know how to work a gun or what a gun is! They don't speak Amharic either. The Emperor calls for five battle ships to be built this year and be finished by Christmas again, while he calls for all young boys 17 or older to join the military to serve for the Emperor and the Empire. The number of ex-slaves that have converted to Christianity is at 60% while 40% have either converted to Islam or another religion or are irreligious, the Emperor is pleased nevertheless. The Coptic Pope is denied having any large amount of political Influence in Ethiopian Government or politics as that could lease to a Government take over by the church, the Emperor Does allow Coptic Priests seats in the Imperial Council to discuss Serious Issues. Addis Ababa is 20% complete.
  • So you are 100% not a naval state, it would take you 20-30 years to get into a position to max out your navy. As for your army, your government type doesn't allow for that kind of conscription. That's what I meant last turn. Your nation hasn't adopted or learned about Conscription since they have yet to see/face it in battle. -Feud
    • Alright, thanks
  • The Magadh Mahajanpada: Vajrayana Buddhism spreads to the hills of Northern and Eastern Kamroop where it finds great appeal among the tribal groups. Theravada Buddhism spreads westward. An extract from this year's yearbook 1848 Vikram Samvat : The Gwalior fort fell in the month of Baisakh. There were heated arguments over the Gwalior issue (freedom or integration) and the council remained divided over the issue. The council decided to integrate Gwalior into Magadh in the month of Jyeshta following a visit by Councilman Shivansh Chauhan to Gwalior where he promised a 'Restoration of Aryavarta'. The spread of the 'Restoration Promise' created mass hysteria in the cities. The Council passed a decree indicating a major change in foreign policy. An embassy was sent to Swahili by the Council. The Magadhan navy was inaugurated. The National Bank announced subsidized loans to weapons manufacturers and shipyards. Munger has become the center of weapons manufacture with and produces even siege guns. A small demographic shift has occurred with people moving to Munger from the outlying villages. Naval production was stepped up to ten ships a year. Major canal and infrastructure projects continued. The Council invested a large sum to start the construction of a Strategic Defensive Area in the Shan states. Uzair Ahmed Khan announced the integration of the states in Mytkina and the construction of a road running along the Iravati river. The use of the shampoo spread to Burma and Kamroop. Restoration work on the Mahabodhi temple started this year. The Governor of Burma announced irrigation projects on the Salween river. The Hemgarh ideology has found a greater following with the constantly increasing members of the Arya Samaj. The administration expands with a new batch of officers being sworn in. Development of Banten was stepped up and a routine ship transport service was set up from Hemgarh to Andaman to Banten.| An army is raised in Banten with 70,000 soldiers. Land clearance projects are offered to individual groups and land and money is provided for the resettlement of people from Burma and Kalinga. Theravada Buddhist missionaries start converting people from Animism to Buddhism in Banten. Vajrayana Buddhist missionaries also arrive and maintain a minor presence. The Pali Canon is being translated to Magadhi.
  • Deccan and Dravidian Diplomacy: The Empire of Dravidia and Deccan offers and an alliance to Magadh. The Empire also offer to transfer control of Jagdalpur and the Dravidian exclave in exchange for the control of Banten and the Andaman islands.
  • Magadhi Diplomacy: The state of Magadh accepts the offer and the alliance.
James Rumsey is granted a patent related to fluid power engineering, in England Patents are expanded on the steam engines and the sale of them overseas is forbidden as they are considered of national importance. The south Indians are on their own in this whole Thuggee thing currently though. As Delhi and Khandesh becomes increasingly surrounded by its aggressive neighbour's who are trying to destroy them, envoys from the British East India Company and offer to protect Delhi and Khandesh from the imminent threats and its vassals in exchange for coming under the suzerainty of the company. (Mod response)
The three Kingdoms still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. There remains a large export market to Britain for cash crops and staple foods especially cotton as the British cotton industry is rapidly growing. The population of Avalon is 0.7 million, Iroquois has 1.3 million and Savannah has one million.

    • Dravidia and Deccan Diplomacy: The Empire offers an alliance to the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
    • British Dip: We agree to the alliance as proof to our new vassal Khandesh that we can adequately protect them.
  • Papal States: The Council continues, with the Ethiopian delegation raising interesting questions about Church and State. The Parlamento orders the building of better roads between Rome and the new states (recently annexed from the former Italian League) in order to better integrate them. In Southern Africa, the Prefect of the Zulu Mission congratulates the new Zulu king, and says several requiem masses for the soul of the first Christian king of the Zulu.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The reinforcement of the army of Mombasa and Army of Zanzibar forces the army of Mogadishu to retreat northward. With the Southern campaign of Zakia over, both sides temporarily withholds advances to replenish their armies and accumulate supplies. Fighting is limited to minor clashes around the river Tana. The Sultan plans a visit to the island of Qamar to restore Swahili authority. The blockade around the Fundamentalists continue as the Royalist navy shells multiple ports. A small Fundamentalist emissary, disguised as merchants, manage to travel to the Ecumenical Caliphate and Jaffarids to request support for their holy struggle.
    • Dravidia and Deccan Diplomacy: The Empire of Dravidia and the Deccan accept the Swahili offer of an alliance and accepts the trade agreement.
    • Swahili Diplomacy to Ethiopia: We accept the offer of friendship and request a trade agreement, sending many wares to the Emperor of Ethiopia.
    • Ethiopian Dip: We agree to a trade deal between the Swahilis and the Ethiopians, we accept the wares from Swahili, gifts are sent to the Swahili Sultan.
  • Swiss Confederacy: Last years compromise seems to have loosened tensions a bit between the Northerners and Southerners. Most cantons begin researching into technology, but it will be many years before the Swiss come anywhere near the technological prowess of the larger nations. Diplomacy continues to grow, with most focus being placed on relations between the largely Christian Swiss and the Papal States. The Volksgeist becomes popular in the north, and Huber's philosophies are largely accepted there, while being less accepted in the more Italian and French South.
  • Saxony: With the ruler continuing to age, Otto I abdicates the throne and now remains home with his family to live his last years. Following this, his oldest son, Abellard I is coronated into the throne. With this a new age begins in Saxony with an economic boom. Wineries and a variety of other shops open up. Squash from the new world is introduced with farms now trying to learn how to grow the vine plant. Development along the Rhine is increased and Rheinstadt is settled. This plans to be a highly developed town for business and trade along the river. With this, many of people begin to flock over. The first river ports and homes are constructed with 111 this year and with three schools and one doctor's office. A marketing place is also being constructed and drinking water is also being brought into the new town but it will be a few years until the area really starts booming. In the meantime, the Businessman's idea seems quite fascinating to many and the castle begins to built in a suburban area east of the capital. With trading still trying to be thought up an economic union and non-aggression pact for 20 years is offered up to Prussia for regional benefits and more (MOD Response). The Volksgiest continues to become one of the most important books of the year being sold and in high demand. This opens the door for new thinking and The German University of Philosophy is founded. Otto I even gets caught in the mix and begins to support this philosopher's ideas. In the meantime, regional crop production spreads further. Iron continues to be used in large amounts for militaristic purposes and life moves on. The average pay for a man increases by 30%. Housing increases significantly and more schools are built which causes a drastic rise in literacy rates by 13% of the population within a year. Recruitment continues to be on the rise with 9000 men being recruited into the military.

  • Dravidia and Deccan: The states of Maratha and Goa had been annexed. The Emperor was returning after touring his new possessions. His entourage set up camp near Ratnagiri for the night. He was assassinated while asleep by the Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan. The death of the heir-less Emperor set off a war of succession between his minister. Sadullah Khan was imprisoned by the Imperial guard. Sadullah Khan declared that the young man had lost his mind. The feudal nobility had lost its power and significance after the Maharajah of South India had abolished the feudal system and established an absolute monarchy. Seeking to take advantage of the opportunities created, army General Ganpati Rao decided to take the matter into his own hands. The Dravidian and Marathi people had started hating the emperor and referred to him as 'The Destroyer of Ratnagiri'. The people also equally hated the Thuggees and considered them a great nuisance as they looted, plundered and murdered for no reason at all. General Ganpati Rao easily gained respect of the people. Commanding the respect and loyalty of the army, he ordered 8000 of his best men to take down the Imperial Guard of 1000 and bring Sadullah Khan to him. 200,000 troops of the army moved to secure the Maratha states and Goa. Another 50,000 of his troops established control over Southern India. Ganpati Rao and 10,000 of his troops marched into Hyderabad and arrested the ministers. The ministers and Sadullah Khan were brought to Mysore and were publicly executed. Ganpati Rao called them the 'minions' of the emperor. In a bid to rid the Marathi and Dravidian people of the Thuggee nuisance in southern Maharashtra, 200,000 troops combed southern Maharashtra killing Thuggee gangs and burning down Thuggee settlements. Though the act was barbaric the Marathi people rejoiced at the end of the cult as they were now free to go about their business rather than being randomly murdered. The guerrilla war with the Thuggee cult continues (Not all 600,000 of them are fit for service) but is limited to southern Maharashtra. Ganpati Rao established complete control over the nation by the ending months of the year. Maharajah Ganpati Rao was crowned Emperor of Dravidia and the Deccan, and established Mysore as his capital. To establish the sovereignity of his Empire he sent offers for alliance to Magadh, Iberia, Britain and Swahili. In other news, urbanization continued to increase. A small Swahili quarter was established in the city of Kollam. Weapons production increased in Tanjore.

  • Pontus: The country continues to modernize and the missionaries of the Armenian Apostolic Church travel with Russian help toward the Russian Arcadian colonies. Missionaries travel all the way into China, preaching and healing Chinese people in need of help. Turkish refugees arrive in the Pontus and the former ambassador to Eastern Rum explains them that the Turks will have to convert to the Christian Church in order to be allowed to live within Pontus. The fleet is damaged in Trebizond, and thus its headquarters is moved to Batumi. Rebuilding continues in Trebizond. King David XII passes away and fundamentalist Georgian Luarsab takes the throne. He institutes the coronation as the Emperor of Pontus and Georgia.
  • Pueblo Confederacy: (sorry for the absence) We establish a series of forts along the OTL New Mexico border to defend against Comanche and Apache raids. A trading post named San Moses is established on the shore of the Great Salt Lake. We modernize our forces to be 40% gunpowder units. Gold is found in the Rocky Mountains. Relations are strained with our southern neighbor of Aztlan. We warn them to lay off any ideas of northern expansion.

Late Turn yall will now be rolling turns at 2:00 CST or 7:00 UTC time.

The Industrial efforts of the British begin to take off with urban populations exploding near the coal producing regions in Britain. Britain is estimated to be nearly 15-20 years ahead of their closest competitors in Burgundy and Belka.

As a response to increased attempted Conversions in Egypt the Ethiopian administration loses control of Cairo and Alexandria for a few days only for local Garrison units to put the revolters down. Ethiopian control over Egypt begins to look much more dubious.

The Comanche in response to Aztlan raids much of their northern regions, without proper infrastructure Azllan is unable to properly respond with isolated response forces being wiped out forcing an unofficial accomodation with the powerful warlike Comanches.

Combining with some illicit white settlers on the shores of Lake Michigan the Apache having been migrating and running for decades settle down. The Apache knowing their tribal ways are untenable begin to learn from the White men establishing a series of settled villages. Their Warlike nature and supreme military capabilities combined with the white settlers leaves them a powerful almost boogeyman like group to the natives of the region.

The final French colony in Laurentia sends an expedition to Tierre Del Fuego securing a small outpost from which to launch ships to France. The Great Senate also demands apologies and tells them that we will not stop northward expension but it's their choice if it will be peaceful or violent.
    • I think you missed the point of the event, your northern regions can't support a Proper Army, if you go to war with the Comanche its not going to go well. -Feud
    • Yes, I think I misunderstood the meaning of it. My apologies. I will change. -Vinny
  • Empire of Ethiopia: Emperor Joshua of Ethiopia publicly responds to the recent Revolt in Alexandria And Cairo, he declares that all missionaries in Egypt will be sent back to the churches of which they came from, he announces that all conversion attempts will be Ended and that Egypt will now be Highly Militarized, Egyptians are Allowed Equal Rights to Ethiopians and Gives Egypt semi-autonomy And installs a Cadet Branch of the Imperial Ethiopian Dynasty with his Cousin who recently married an Egyptian Girl to be Head of The New Egyptian Government, Muslims are Left alone and Treated as Normal People. The Coptic Church continues To Better ties between The Catholic Church and Better Ethiopia's Relations with the Holy See.
  • The Great Khanate: The Khanate begins to work on modernizing the state as the Khan begins to trade with traders from Persia and Afghanistan. We send an envoy to Russia, Persia and China asking for a trade deal. Roads are worked on and the Khan moves people to Turkmenibat and river like cities. While this happens attempts are made to create vast among of agricultural land to create food. This does lead to the dislike of the Khan but the vast majority of people are too busy living to protest or fight. The religion of the Khannate goes under a new revolution as Islam makes a small kick back mostly around the Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan region as more and more trade is conducted with Persia and Arabia.
  • Russia: We gather up 100,000 men to attack Arabia the next year and offer Pontus and Belka the chance for some more territory (Player Response). Diplomats begin to gather for a mission to Aztlan to work of the Aztlan-Russian border claims in Arcadia.
    • Aztlan Dip: Diplomats of our nation are willing to discus the border claims in the region and the economic influences in the region.
    • Belkan Dip: We agree and deploy alongside our Russian allies.
  • The Magadh Mahajanpada: The port city of Paradwip witnesses a decline with Hemgarh becoming the major port and headquarters of the navy. The Hemgarh University continues to print the yearbooks. An extract from this year's yearbook 1849 Vikram Samvat reads: Work on major government projects continued throughout the year. These projects include the irrigation works on the three rivers and the construction of a strategic defensive area in the Shan area. Following the success of the line infantry regiment, the army decides to raise two more regiments. The regiments will be trained in the training grounds near Nalbari, the capital of Kamroop. Riots occurred in Kannauj over food shortages. The population of Patliputra reached 1.2 million people. The membership of the Arya Samaj rose to 0.8 million. A new batch of administrators was sworn-in. The government nationalized the textile factories in the month of Ashadh. The use of the crank-handle cotton gin was encouraged. New technologies including the stocking frame and the modern spinning wheel were bought and introduced to the factories. Restoration of the Mahabodhi temple continued. The road along the Irrawady has improved transport in the region. A similar project is planned for construction along the Salween river. The state acquired Jagdalpur and handed over control of Andaman islands and Banten to the Empire of Dravidia. The Empire of Dravidia became an ally of the Mahajanpada. The Pali Canon was published for the first time in Magadhi.| The training of a standing army of 40,000 troops was started under the supervision of Uzair Ahmed Khan.
  • Belkan Federation: The Belkan nation under Vozdh Milsevic continues to expand and build up its burgeoning industrial sector with multiple new factories opening up this year. Two factories specifically of the Steam Variety open up in Vasiligrad, using coal to power the devices to produce steam. The expansion of various new economic avenues puts a strain on Belkas trade as it is pushing for new sources of materials and markets. Seeing Russia's push on Arabia, and the now daunting need of the economy and the unsatisfied desires of the colonialists in the country lobbying heavily for colonial missions (no matter how unprofitable) the Belkan Vozdh and the Duma approve of a declaration of War on Arabia. 100,000 troops are marched through the Greek confederation to link up with Greek troops as well as co-ordinate with the Russians for their assault on Eastern Rum, and on top of this, the Belkan navy deploys its most modern battlgroups into the offensive on Arabia, running interference and playing with the admittedly small Arabian navy in the Mediterranean Sea deploying 50,000 troops to Jaffa backed up by another force of 50,000 landing at Acre led by two new generals. Generals Savarov, and the Legacy General Brusilov, the young Grandson of the elder Brusilov who was awarded his command at a young age. Belkan forces regardless of Casualties force a landing using their navy with nearly 40 ships split between three battlegroups with one covering Jaffa, one covering Acre, and the third running martial naval patrol on the landing zones. With this declaration of war many people with an air of superiority support this action, and the Military sees its reserves filled and its standing army of 500,000 with 200,000 abroad stand on alert ready to respond and flood the Arabians if the need arises. The Belkan government also requisitions nearly 30 warships from its Italian protectorate, the Venetian Republic to send off to the fight. However, they are exempted from army service overseas. Czechia remains noticeable silent on the issue instead focusing on its internal development and its own population growth. It also begins construction of its First Strategic fort to cover the low points of the mountains to prevent an easy entrance into the country.
    • The Ethiopian Emperor hears about the invasion of Arabia and sends a diplomat to Belka to know which country they are invading in Arabia and if they can help.
    • Greek Confederation: The Greek confederation with the declaration of war on Arabia, harnesses its intense hatred for Muslims, marshalls nearly 50,000 troops to march on Arabia with its Belkan allies. Continued settlement of Western from continues with the re-establishment of the Theme system bringing much Greek culture back to the region. The hub of this resettlement comes from Ancyra quickly becoming one of the confederations largest cities.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The Sultan is assassinated in his tour of Qamar and the power transitions to his son Khalfani and the powerful war minister, Kahili Odili. In response to the assassination, the army of Quelimane is moved to the island of Qamar to begin a great purge to find out the ringleaders of the assassination and elements of the resistance. Hundreds of thousands are accused and killed as the army goes into a frenzy of bloodshed and revenge. To prevent being targetted the bloodshed, many local militias were formed, but they were destroyed by the army under accusations of resistance and hundreds of local villages were levelled, its inhabitants slaughtered. A small Fundamentalist emissary, disguised as merchants, manage to travel to the Ecumenical Caliphate and Jaffarids to request support for their holy struggle.
  • Empire of Dravidia: The Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran continued his rule over his domain from his seat of government, the city of Hyderabad whilst his Grand Vizier, Sadullah Khan managed day-to-day affairs. The Dravidian population rose to about 62 million with the people flocking to cities like Mysore, Hyderabad, Tanjore, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kollam, Masulipatnam, Visakhapatnam, Gulburga and Mangalore as well as various other minor cities and townships throughout the south; primarily due to the rapid urbanization. Among these cash crops, jute, mulberry silk and muslin in particular served as the most important exports given the general need for them in Europe. Meanwhile, the Dravidian navy experimented on new larger classes of flag ships, churning out first rate ships for various fleets, and more third rates, and fourth rates with the occasional second rate to augment the smaller patrol fleets with the majority of the imperial navy harboured at the Kollam, Kalipur and Visakhapatnam ports. The Dravidian navy itself firmly stood at about 900 ships. With the war against the Goa Sultanate and the Maratha Principalities finally over, the territories that comprised those nations was annexed into the Dravidian Empire. In the war's aftermath, the Emperor decided to express his gratitude toward the Thuggees by having a city constructed to house their comnunity. The Thuggees were also selected to administer the former territories of the Goa Sultanate by acting as provincial ministers and civil servants, with the city of Kalipur (OTL Mumbai) designated as the provincial capital. Somultaneously, Muslims were appointed to rule over the former Maratha Principalities. Both of these decisions were made not only to incite secterian violence but to also bring about discord between the Maratha people who were now not only divided into a Northern and Southern Maharashtra but also with religious minorities appointed over them. To spill further fuel into the fire, the Emperor even directed members of the Young Dravidia movements to conduct public gatherings in Maharashtra to support Dalit rights in hopes of bringing about division along caste lines.
  • Hawaii: Expansion and settlement continues across the kingdom, especially in the Marshall Islands and the Santa Cruz Islands. King Kamehameha IV travels to Laurentia this year to meet with the leaders of the newly created French states on the continent. He spends time in the United Empire of Brésil hoping to meet with Nicolas I, just as his father had met with the governors of New France before him, and establish good relations and trade, and as such he formally recognizes the new states. On the islands the Kuhina Nui, Kekūanāoʻa, the king's first cousin, governs in his absense, and begins looking for suitable marriages for his children, Alexandre ʻIolani Liholiho, Marie Antoinette Kamāmalu, and David Lot Kapuāiwa.
Emperor Luarsab I declares war on Arabia along with its allies Russia and Belka and attacks Eastern Rum.
  • Swiss Confederacy: With news of an upcoming war in Arabia approaching, the cantons hold an emergency Tagsatzung to discuss the issue. It is decided that the Swiss will remain neutral in this war. However, the cantons will freely sell weapons and supplies to both sides, and Swiss mercenaries are free to go to whichever side they'd like. News of the war starts a bout of Muslim hatred, and the University of Islamic Studies in Zurich is firebombed (thankfully, no one was hurt). The cantons continue to invest in technology, with several universities being planned for construction. The Volksgeist continues to become popular in the Northern cantons, with some fringe groups calling for a republic of the German people, but this is mostly ignored by most politicians.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Patagonië expands 50 px. The Burgundian presence on Sint Maarten (OTL Bathurst Island) is expanded. The use of steam engines is expanded, and several new factories are opened in Utrecht, Friesland, and Hainaut.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain:  Tariffs remain high on imports keeping Arcadia currently as Britain's main trading partner partner. The Industrial revolution is starting in Britain with more people moving to the cities and technology changing when William Murdoch invents gas lighting and James Rumsey is granted a patent for a water turbine, in England. The mining of coal continues to raise in the north of England and Wales as pits grow larger while coal is moved from the canals to the factories of the midlands. The rise of the steam engine powers the coal mines pushing Britain to the lead in production while factories are also powered by them. Iron, cotton and other goods are all produced in new mills, factories and smelting plants. England has 7.7 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 4.9 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. In an attempt to ward off an invasion by the eastern Indians new European designed star fortresses which are built to withstand cannon are to be built at Hassanpur and Sanoli Khurd while in the south fortresses are built at Surat and Shirpur. Aware that while these defences will be strong they are only as powerful as their men. Soldiers are taken from the existing Sepoy legions and given commands of new units being raised with 60,000 soldiers raised from Delhi and vassals while another 30,000 from Khandesh in addition to the already 80,000 form the other three British states. These new Sepoy legions are line infantry and contained grenadiers and are commanded by a mix of British, Hindu and Muslim officers and men. This new well drilled and commanded force reassures people that Britain can protect them.
  •  : Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Apaches are settling down, the Kingdom of Avalon votes to create its own military to establish forts around the Great Lakes commissioning a full time force off 600 men to man three forts. The three Kingdom's still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. There remains a large export market to Britain for cash crops and staple foods especially cotton as the British cotton industry is rapidly growing. The population of Avalon is 0.7 million, Iroquois has 1.3 million and Savannah has 1.1 million.
  • Pueblo Confederacy: We request an agreement with the Comanche. We ask for a temporary alliance to defend against Azllan. (Mod Response) Our Leader Kuuyi Taaqa died of natural causes. We use this as an opportunity to reform our government. The council of elders remains in place and they elect a new Chief Elder: Hodéezyéél. Another governing body is also formed called the Common House and its members are elected by the land owning males (for our Iberian citizens) or family heads (for our Arcadian citizens). The Common House elects a Prime Minister: Juan Gonzales. Further settlements are made along the northern Rocky Mountains. Treaties are proposed to the tribes in those areas. They can join the Confederacy and maintain all their current rights but gain representation and protection. Three newspapers a started; Two in Iberian and one in Navajo.

1793Edit

Muslims and Turks in "Greece" begin a rebellion, taking advantage of the fact that the Greek army is away and also furious at a war with Arabia. The primary leader of the Turkic rebels is Yusuf Mustafa. A secret organization called The Young Turks is formed of ethnic Turks who appear to be loyal bureaucrats and workers in the Belkan Greek regime but are actually part of the rebel cause and are internally sabotaging the Greek government and war effort while also supplying information and aid to rebels. A major problem is that the wizened General Mustafa is from the old days of freedom and dislikes the Young Turks, who have only known the current regime and do not know the true Turkic culture or the freedom of Rum. The ruthless leader of the Young Turks, Osman Osman, orders the Young Turks who are in Mustafa's army to kill him. Osman's brother Ahmet Osman takes over as the military leader of the Turkic rebels. Meanwhile, Osman Osman decides to seek foreign aid for the Turkic cause, reaching out to the great powers of Europe, including France and Britain.

In Iberia, tax problems combined with bread problems led to people rioting in the streets of the capital clamoring for Bread and Freedom. This culminates in a march on the royal palace. Although the king and some members of the royal family escape into the countryside, those who are left behind, including the queen, one of the king's sons, and other ancillary members of the royal family are executed. Upon arriving at one of his secure hunting lodges, the king orders the army to enter the capital and begin putting down the growing uprising. Unfortunately, the Bread Warriors seize control of the Cortes Generales, proclaim the start of the Bread Government, and encourage people across Iberia to join the fight for Bread and Freedom. The Bread Revolution seizes the people of Spain and the breakdown of authority is quick and final. In Gibraltar, the garrison is besieged by Bread Revolutionaries. The captain sends a soldier in the night to the harbor and orders him to tell any ship he can find to send aid if possible, promising a quick surrender to whoever relieves them. This message is delivered to the captain of British ship who hurries home to deliver the message. Meanwhile, the Bread Government invites the king to come back to the capital, abdicate the crown on behalf of himself and his son the crown prince, and transfer regency over his grandson to the Bread Lord himself, Esteban Cuelho. The king refuses and sends word to his allies asking for help.

In spite of Emperor Iyasu III's reforms, Egypt continues to have major violence in light of the war on Arabia, albeit somewhat abated. The net result is to stymie Ethiopia's offense in the region. The Emperor's cousin who he installed as a viceroy is stabbed in his sleep, presumably by his wife. When the emperor's men try to apprehend her, she escapes into the streets of Cairo with the help of her loyal Egyptian servants. The soldiers go into the city to find her but she is being hidden by the people of the city, who are loyal to her. The imperial soldiers get into a scuffle with the Caliph's guards when they demand entrance to the Caliph's mansion to search for the lost princess which ends with common people attacking and killing the guards. The Caliph decries their mob action as unjust and fears potential retribution from the Emperor. As such, he mobilizes his network of spies and secret agents across Egypt to prepare for a potential war.

In the Rhineland League, Lothair Bonaparte proposes drastic reforms to the structure of the league, including a strong centralization of the government, introduction of popular democracy, and the shift of power from the Kaiser to the Chancellor. These reforms are viewed with great distaste and suspicion by the powers that be. The noble princes and counts and other titled men dislike Lothair because all Bonapartes and Bonapaarts and Buonapartes have always been viewed as lesser men, nothing more than upjumped servants, across all of Europe, from the great explorer Ludwig to the king Carlo. Regardless, they agree to centralize power in the League because it also means more power for them. They are opposed to his other ideas because it would run counter to their ideas. His primary opponent is Rudolf, Count of Meinhard. Meanwhile, Lothair's son Alexander Napoleon visits Iberia to witness the Bread Revolution and learn the ways of war.

Bavaria, feeling threatened by potential invasions from neighboring German powers, decides to enter the Rhineland League, like its neighbor Swabia.

  • Empire of Ethiopia: Egypt is Heavily Militarized, Cairo is put on lockdown, Alexandria is under constant surveillance, The Emperor Sees war as inedible, he installs His Counsin's Brother As Prince of Egypt and puts his Palace on lockdown, security forces search for the Rouge Princess, Egyptian rebels start to Fight. The Emperor Cancels any Sort of interest in joining the war against Arabia and plans for a counter-rebellion, The Egyptian Rebels in Cairo are quickly Put down but more Rebellions ensue, The Emperor Reaches Out to the Pope for help Papal Response The Navy Secures Port towns and blockades the Entrance to the Nile, Ethiopian Forces quickly Occupy far south of Egypt, Alexandria is Kept Stable, No information about the recent Affairs have been Released, no one but Ethiopian Officials may enter the city now.
  • Aztlan Federation: The President Asks the Comanche for a peace deal and land exchanges with them. (mod response) This is done so that the President can Focus on devoloping the nation and making the infrastructure to be able to have easy supplies for the army. Our Great Senate Also asks the pueblo people for the cooling of relations and making them stable again. In Tenochtitlán the first Nahuatl Dictionary is published which is called "dicionário". This first Nahuatl Book greatly helps Nahuatl nationalism in the people. Military forts are also build allong the Comanche and Pueblo border and some settlements are build near the Iberian border. The First Rum Distillery is registered in Santo Didacus which is called "Destilería de Rum de Rico." Our Federal Senate also offers to buy Western Puerto Rico from the United Kingdom (players response).
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The Great Qamarese Massacre ends with at least 1.5 million dead Qamarese and at least 300,000 dead Swahili soldiers, militias and citizens caught in retribution. The Qamaresr situation returns to stability as both sides calm down. On the mainland, Azizi, the Royalist Swahili general, launches a new offensive with the army of Zanzibar, now 75,000 strong, across the river Tana. Zakia moves to the invasion and sends the 45,000 strong army of Zakia to delay it while the 55,000 strong army of Mogadishu is also sent to reinforce and fight back with the army of Zakia. The sudden loss of young man in the work environment due to the civil war causes a sudden burst of adoption of basic labour-saving tools and automations for both Royalist and Fundamentalist Swahili, yet the large factories in Royalist Swahili, particularly those in Malindi, Mombasa, Ibo and Zanzibar allows the mechanization to proceed at a quicker pace than Fundamentalist Swahili. A Swahili clothing factory engineer independently develops the power loom to keep up with the uniform orders as larger and larger sectors of the population marches to war. A weapon smith in Ibo discovers titanium while processing weapons. He records it as an independent element different from iron. A small Fundamentalist emissary, disguised as merchants, manage to travel to the Ecumenical Caliphate and Jaffarids to request support for their holy struggle.
Any Young Turks within Pontus are put in a creation of Emperor Luarsab, a concentration camp. The fleet is damaged in Trebizond, and thus its headquarters is moved to Batumi. Rebuilding continues in Trebizond. Emperor Luarsab I declares war on Arabia along with its allies Russia and Belka and attacks Eastern Rum.
  • Jaffarid Sultanate of Arabia: Thought I was dead, huh? The war has rallied large support against the invading enemies of Russia, Pontus and the Belkan Federation. A garrison of troops is rallied in Iran and Arabia, following not only general patriotism to go to war, but mass conscription of able-bodied men age 16-21 brings together a final total of 500,000 men. Using the mountains of Circassia, Shirvan, Ganja, and Azerbaijan to defend against the Russian army, unconventional tactics and sabotage of supplies lines going between Russia and their territory in vassals are used as a means of weakening the general force before ultimately surrounding them and killing small camps and squads. This occurs with all soldiers distanced from the main base of operations, and figure that this would weaken the morals of the soldiers and cause many to simply become afraid of the war. In terms of the war against Belka, troops are sent to "draw" a line to properly defend against the Belkans as a means of stopping any further expansion into the state. With the Pontus invasion, many of the same tactics are used. Sultan Asim II secretly sends in revolutionaries into the Ethiopian Empire as a means of helping the Caliphate. A secret meeting between the Khanate and Arabia is held, in which a proper counter-invasion is planned.
    • House of Jaffar: The leader of the House of Jaffar, Abdul Ghafoor al-Jaffar, looks for outside help with the war against Belka in particular, as Russia is being properly dealt with by the Sultan. To begin with, we ask the Ecumenical Caliphate for military help if possible, and Numerous diplomats are sent to France, Great Britain, the Holy Roman Empire, and Scandinavia. The diplomats are to give a speech about how Belka and Russia are not only becoming a growing power in Eastern Europe, but also a disaster for many European nations and their interests. Smearing the name of republicanism and its effects on humans living in western Anatolia, Belka and Russia are chosen as enemies of Europe, and if not dealt with properly, then they could ruin the rule of the monarchy and strip the powers of which the royal family have, possibly jeopardizing the government itself. At the end, we request that a coalition war against Russia and the Belkan Federation is started in allowance for exploitation of natural resources in Arabia for 30 years, as well as the ownership of many ports in Jerusalem as well as the Mediterranean ports along the Levant itself, as well as ownership of ports in Iran. Other diplomats are sent to the Jin Dynasty, as a means of opening up a front in Siberia, while diplomats being sent to Swahili, asking for logistical help (Player/ Mod).
With a civil war having started in the Iberian Peninsula, the Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan began financing the infiltration of Thuggees into the Iberian enclaves bordering Dravidia, with Goa being the prime target. The Thuggees were assigned to conduct attacks upon Iberians residing in the enclaves and to essentially start a revolt against the colonial authorities. Meanwhile, sectarianism took an ugly turn in Kerala when Brahmins burned down an entire Dalit village and crucified the village's inhabitants after learning that they had converted to Christianity. The situation fortunately calmed down when the local authorities intervened, preventing any further damage for being done. Unfortunately, it was nonetheless a clear sign of the increasingly growing hatred toward the emancipation of dalits. Concurrently, by now the Emperor was generally referred to as Haider the Terrible, largely due to his involvement in the Massacre of Ratnagiri. Of course, this was a title attributed to him mainly by the Maratha. Others, such as the Dravidians and the Dakhinis called him Haider the Fearsome while the Thuggees would go yet another step further by referring to him as Haider the Holy.
England has 7.8 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 5.1 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. Seeing everything that is going on in Gibraltar, the Admiralty commissions Admiral Harvey to take 30 ships, two line regiments and a royal marine company totalling to around 2000 men to relieve the siege of Gibraltar because this is currently the only known internal resistance to the madness of the Bread government. A direct intervention into Iberia itself without some support from the Iberians themselves is currently ruled out. Once Gibraltar falls the victorious forces occupy it and prepare to defend it. As the proportion of urban to rural increases due to population growth cities expand as more factories grow. Intervention in Turkey is impossible while Britain does not have access to the Mediterranean sea but Parliament will review the plea of Osman Osman for help at a later date. Construction work on star forts continue in India in addition to the training and expansion of company run forces.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Apaches are settling down, the Kingdom of Avalon votes to create its own military to establish forts around the Great Lakes commissioning a full time force off 600 men to man three forts. The three Kingdoms still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. There remains a large export market to Britain for cash crops and staple foods - especially cotton - as the British cotton industry is rapidly growing. Hannah Slater applies for a Kingdom of Iroquois patent for her new method of producing sewing thread from cotton. The population of Avalon is 0.7 million, Iroquois has 1.3 million and Savannah has 1.1 million.
  • Kingdom of Cambodia: After the death of the previous monarch, the Kingdom of Cambodia has crowned King Esudok as the new reigning monarch. We have now gathered a strong population of 5.3 million and are further growing through diplomacy in the region. Cambodians look forward into the future and see a powerful Cambodia.
  • Salish Nation: Our nation has radicly changed. Thus, Alexander Suiattle commissions the third surveying of our nation. The results show that Russian is now understood by a majority of our 70,000 salish. Our largest industries are Farming, Fishing, and Whaling. With some Russian people living within our borders, we learn metalworking, and begin a project to arm our warriors with guns. We officially claim all land West of the Cascades but north of OTL Eugene and South of OTL Nanaimo, but are doubtful that our claims will be recognized. As such, an embassy is established in Aztlan to negotiate an alliance. Construction of a Lucentium-Dwuamish road begins. Technology also begins to filter up from the Aztlani state of California. WIP.
  • Swiss Confederacy: After hearing the Spanish kings pleads to fight the Bread Government, about 200 well trained Swiss mercenaries answer his call for help and join the Spanish forces. They expect this to lead to large profits for their companies if the Spanish win this war. The cantons continue to invest in technology, with several universities now under construction. The impact of The Volksgeist continues to expand, as notions of a German Nation become more recognized in general Northern politics. This worries the South, as Zurich is probably the most important city in the Confederacy, and losing it to a "German Republic" would certainly hurt the South, perhaps irreparably. It all seems to be politics for now, though, as no serious efforts of separation are at hand.
  • China: Due to mounting government programs and low tax rates, the surplus of the National Treasury begins to decline. This is also partially due to government corruption stemming from an oversaturated bureaucracy, as well as overly extravagant lifestyles among aristocrats and royalty, including the Qianlong Emperor himself. The lease on Gulangyu (for the Ecumenical Caliphate) and Macau (Iberia) is ended, but merchants from both have special status on the two aforementioned territories. The Qianlong Emperor awards titles to the descendants of the House of Yi (which ruled over Joseon Korea), for the repression experienced during the late Ming and Bao dynasties, and their resistance against Islamicization. Border guards begin warding off illegal Russian settlements in Chinese vassals, such as North Mongolia and Sakha. The Eastern-rite Church (or the Holiest Procurator of the Heavenly Teachings in the East) asserts itself as a brand of folk Catholicism, and begins purging corrupt officials within its clergy in order to increase its appeal. The Holy Confucian Church continues its attempts to centralize Confucian beliefs (which is largely influenced by the shixue sect); distributing compilations of Confucian holy texts such as the Five Books and the Four Classics, and the Analects. Various Confucian temples are built across the country, and a clergy split into multiple ranks is established. Worship of the Heavens, and by extension, the Emperor is emphasized. Agricultural productivity rises due to implementation of irrigation and more resource-intensive methods. Both grains and cash crops are widely cultivated. The mining industry experiences a boom, with vast reserves of high-quality anthracite, gold and copper being found and exploited. Restrictions against resource exploration is abolished. Industrial facilities continue to churn out massive volumes of wrought iron from pig iron, as well as gunpowder and other processed commodities; most of which are used in the production of various armaments, firearms, and artillery. Commercialization continues, aided by heavy infrastructural development, urbanization, and a strong internal demand for consumer and luxury items (textiles, jewellery, cosmetics etc.). Basic sanitation and hygiene is taught, and public bathhouses, spas, latrines and sewage systems are all built. In Zaihaibian, Suolong and Nangang all expand. Fire-fallow cultivation is encouraged, leading to rapid deforestation of the forest, with local tribes being forcibly assimilated or expelled.
  • Malaya: The King, like his cousin, abdicates from the throne due to exhaustion. He passes the throne to his nephew, Cheng Han Ping. The new King begins extending relations to Sumatra and Aceh, having holidayed there several times during his youth. He aims to form a bridge between the different cultures and religions of the few nations that have common ground under Burgundian protection and influence. Minerals have been discovered in our Bornean territory, and mines are built to obtain deposits of nickel, tin and in some places gold and diamond. The Black Fever has made resurgences in the nation over time, but have been contained by the efforts of professional doctors, save for one case where the patient has about to be "exorcised" by a self-proclaimed Anguzi healer by being boiled alive in oil. Effective methods for containing this disease have been documented, and new guidelines have been set in place to limit the spread of such diseases in the future.
  • Brésil: After hearing about the battle plans being written in the Viceroyalty of Peru and the building up of a force there, Emperor Nicolas continues to order the army to stay stationary in the major cities throughout Brésil. In a joint statement, the Grand Assembly and the Emperor officially standardize wages in the army, declare a conscript system, and rename the force the Grande Armée. Loyalists continue to be tried in national courts, even at faster rates than before. With the Emperor’s support, the Grand Assembly passes the Embargo Act which declares a trade embargo with France unless Brésilian independence is recognized by them and a truce is signed between the two nations.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: The States-General declares support for the Iberian Royalists, sending a detachment of the High Seas Fleet to assist them, including carrying supplies for the besieged Royalists at Gibraltar, and bombarding the besieging revolutionaries.

1794Edit

In Iberia, the Bread Government offers Britain a hundred year lease and condominium of Gibraltar in exchange for their support against the crown.

Poland rises in rebellion under the leadership of Andrzej Borusewicz.

The Young Turk Rebellion begins to be more centralized, with Osman's army pushing out Greek control from the Bursa region as far as the outskirts of Nicea, gaining momentum as he goes. Central Anatolia turns more anarchic as large Greek populations organize loose mobs. The Greco-Slavic military in the east is completely tied down as a consequence.

An Uyghur businessman merchant named Cenk decides to raise a mercenary army 3000 strong and travel to Rum to help the Young Turks.

Post all of your map changes on the talk page or tell Dev on Discord so they can be added to the next map, which will be coming soon.

People with cardinals go vote for a new Pope here, dying next turn.

  • China: In response to a draining National Treasury (as the surplus wanes), the Qianlong Emperor begins to cut down on the oversaturated bureaucracy, deciding to host imperial examinations every five years instead of the traditional three years, triggering some Confucianist hardliners and traditionalists. He also tries to clamp down on corruption, purging corrupt aristocrats and scholar-officials. In addition, he restores the land tax, though fixes it at a low rate to avoid any public upheaval. Gulangyu and Macau are integrated as directly-administered municipalities, their status before Arab and Iberian (respectively) cession. Border guards continue to expel illegal Russian settlers trespassing into Chinese vassals such as North Mongolia, Sakha, and Nivkhgu, but refuses to alert the Russian government to avoid any diplomatic tension. The Holy Confucian Church continues its free public distribution of compilations of Confucian holy texts, and encouraging Confucians to join the Church and participate in communal rites as interpreted from the Confucian classics. The Eastern-rite Church (or the Holiest Procurator of the Heavenly Teachings in the East) continues to purge its clergy of corrupt officials, while launching active missionary campaigns to curtail the influence of foreign missionaries. However, they still fail to compete with the appeal of Immaculata missionaries in Korea (where they have a more strong influence), though achieve massive success in China. Agricultural productivity rises due to implementation of irrigation and more resource-intensive methods. Both grains and cash crops are widely cultivated. The mining industry, propelled by restrictions against logging and a high demand for tax funds, experiences a boom, with vast reserves of high-quality anthracite, gold and copper being found and exploited. Multiple chaebols in the sector are given government subsidies in-exchange for a particularly volume of precious metals shipped yearly. However, this also results in false reporting to fulfil quotas and the displacement of various communities near mining sites. Industrial facilities continue to churn out massive volumes of wrought iron derived from pig iron, as well as gunpowder and other processed commodities; most of which are utilised in the production of various armaments, firearms, and artillery. Iron-cased rockets are developed by a group of scholar-officials in Dalyeon, but however, are still in experimental phase. Korean multiple-rocket launchers are still preferred. Immense commercialization continues, aided by heavy infrastructural development, urbanization, and a strong internal demand for consumer goods and luxury items.
    • Nivkh Commandery: Tiger Pastries, Inc., a subsidiary of Lady Lin Tea, continues to flourish as a business.
Many Tibetans are encouraged (via financial incentives) to become more sedentary, with food instead being supplied from nearby Sichuan (thereby reducing overreliance in inefficient herding).
    • North Mongolia: Yurt is further settled. A healthy aquaculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from Lake Baikal.
  • Papal States: Pope Innocent IX is shocked by the sudden rise of revolutionary governments around Europe. He writes a document, Immensa dolor, on the topic. The encyclical letter begins by expressing concern for the destitution faced by many in the countries which have been affected by the revolts, and notes the desperation which such hardships can bring. However, His Holiness then writes that despite this, violent overthrow of the government is not the answer. Whilst noting that tyrannocide can be justified in certain circumstances (according to classical Catholic teaching), the widespread bloodshed which has followed these revolutions is not. Moving on. The delegations of Ethiopia and China are asked to respond to the request in the Council of Vasiligrad to unify with the universal Church. Financial support is given to Ethiopia. Missions in Zulu, Uluru and Western Arcadia continue, as well as elsewhere.
  • The Aztlan Federation: Santo Didacus replaces Lucentum as capital of the State of Grande Califórnia to make the comunication between California and the capital of Guadalajara. Guadalajara becomes the new capital with no state above it acting as a federal district. The senate also begins to fund Cotton farming in the country to help for military uniforms and its allies. Our Senate also asks the United Kingdom of they can buy parts of western Puerto Rico from them (Player response). Mérida becomes the hosting city for the Aztlan Federal Navy. This is done to get more influence and trade to our nation and its peoples. The navy also for the first time uses the Aztlan flag on its boats while sailing close to the Cuban Coast. Nahuatl Also begins a period of revival with a "Dicionário de palavras-chave" ("Dictionary of Loanwords") being published for the people to get new words for concepts and things they are unknown to Nahuatl. This Nahuatl Rivivalism makes ground for the founding of the "partido nacionalista nahuatl" ("nahuatl nationalist party"). This is a party who longs for the Revival of All things Aztec and Nahuatl for exceptions on religious activities.
    • British Dip: Yes, we will sell Western Puerto Rico.
  • Belkan Federation: While the rise of the remaining Anatolian Turks is not exactly a surprise, its inconvenient timing forces a session of congress to be convened. with nearly 300,000 soldiers still remaining throughout the homeland, the stabilization act of '94 is passed with one explicit goal, put down the Turkish revolt at all costs. of the 300,000 strong forces almost 200,000 are deployed in earnest across the straits to Nicaea and the forces deployed to Acre and Jaffa are pulled back as well abandoning their positions in Palestine. With some other forces tied up in the East, the Belkan home armies are designated to handle the revolt, and with the withdraw of the 100,000 men from the near east ports and redeployment to the Greek confederation, the Belkan military begins campaigning from the West bringing the entire army to bear on the Young Turks in a large scale envelopment maneuver at their assault near Nicaea planning entirely to surround and destroy the rebel army. As a result of this war erupting, the Belkan reserves begin to be mobilized with almost 150,000 men put into uniform this year to be prepared to send across the straits to put down the Turks once and for all. However, the Vozdh in a secret meeting agrees to meet with Osman Osman in order to discuss coming to terms.
  • Hawaii: Colonization and settlement of the many territories of Hawaii continue, particularly in the new settlements of Mamaopaena, as these outposts serve as important stops between the western part of the kingdom and Hawaii's many trade partners. Trade missions/expeditions to the southern continent hoping to make contact with the native people there continue, although they still prove unsuccessful. The sandalwood industry continues to boom, with trade between east and west intensifying. The king and his Minister of the Navy, Louis Moreau, decide that Hawaii must expand its navy if it hopes to continue expanding and defending its empire. By this time the nation operates a small fleet of European ships, although most of them are refitted former trade ships and other small vessels that were purchased or gifted by European powers. This is in addition to the over 1000 war canoes that the nation can levy from feudal vassals, of which the king owns the largest amount personally, and a few hundred of the large canoe-European ship hybrids that helped the nation expand into Polynesia. As part of a new expansion, Moreau recommends expanding the naval yard in Honolulu, Kaluahine, and other major port cities, and using European craftsmen and experts to construct the first native Hawaiian vessels in the western style. A brig known as the HHMS Kaimiloa begins construction as a prototype. Inoculation continues across the nation and proves to be successful.
Iron, cotton and other goods are all produced in new mills, factories and smelting plants. England has 7.8 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 5.3 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. An Islamic Hussars force is made as a company regiment for the first time and more will be implemented. In Iberia with everything going on and the King having yet to return in power, the Bread government having been alright so far in addition to being more sympathetic to British interests. Parliament votes to recognise the Bread government as the legitimate Iberian government and further with the only way to hold Gibraltar to be to remove the Royalist threat authorising the dispatch of 15,000 troops to Iberia to fight alongside Iberian troops against Royalists and in addition a large amount of material supplies such as muskets, boots and uniforms are shipped to Iberia to be given to the government as a loan. • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Apaches are settling down, the Kingdom of Avalon votes to create its own military to establish forts around the Great Lakes commissioning a full time force off 600 men to man three forts.
  • Swiss Confederacy: With the call of the Young Turks, many of the mercenaries for Iberia have abandoned their contracts and headed off to Rum. Only about 50 remain, to serve as bodyguards to the King. Additional mercs not in Iberia also respond to the call, and about 600 of the 3000 strong army are Swiss. The Northern Cantons Germanication has gotten a bit out of hand, with some delegates going to the Rhineland League in secret to discuss membership into the country. This, of course, angers the Southern delegates when they find out, with some calling for war with the north. Nothing is officially declared as of yet, but all looks bleak in the Alpine.

Another request to the Pope is sent for aid against the The Revolters Papal Response. The Emperor Is locked up in his palace so that any Egyptians or Egyptian Ethiopians who are rebellious can't harm him, he no longer appears in public. The government encourages young men to join the army to fight the Egyptian Revolters, mercenaries are offered 500 Birrs if they fight against the Egyptians.
    • You don't get to make this decision. -Feud
However, his nationalistic stance displaces Greek and Armenian generals in favour of more incompetent Georgian ones. Due to this, unrest grows within the Greek and Armenian elite. A circle of conspirators to depose Luarsab is formed around the King's brother Vakhtang.
  • Brésil: Emperor Nicolas continues to order the army to stay stationary in the major cities throughout Brésil. The Embargo Act against France continues. Emperor Nicolas welcomes King Kamehameha IV and gives him local gifts for his family. The Emperor is thankful for his recognition of the empire, and to foster good trade relations he gets the Grand Assembly to remove the duties for Brésilian goods that are getting traded to Hawaiian markets. Loyalists continued to be tried in courts.
  • The Great Khanate: The Khanate begins to work on modernizing the state as the Khan begins to trade with traders from Persia and Afghanistan. We send an envoy to Russia, Persia and China asking for a trade deal. Roads are worked on and the Khan moves people to Turkmenibat,Bukara and river like cities. While this happens attempts are made to create vast among of fertile land to create food. This does lead to the dislike of the Khan but the vast majority of people are too busy living to protest or fight. The religion of the Khannate goes under a new revolution as Islam makes a small kick back mostly around Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan region as more and more trade is conducted with Persia and Arabia. The current religious make up stands at Christian 48%, Zoroastrism 10% and Islam 42%. We conduct an invasion of Kashmir and annex the region.
    • First off, China already has trading deals with Turkey via its tributary relationship with it. Second, wouldn't the majority of the population still adhere to traditional folk or shamanic religions, as Turkey has only now centralized?
  • Empire of Dravidia and the Deccan: The infiltration of Iberian outposts continues, carried out by the Thuggees who are now recruited into the Thuggee regiment. The First Baloch Scouts regiment is raised. Urbanization slows down. The use of the Malindi plough spreads into the new territories. Large tracts of forests are cleared in the Deccan and the tribal people are forcefully assimilated or removed form these areas. Dairy farming is encouraged and there is an increase in the consumption of milk products.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. With knowledge from the previous defeats, Azizi took a prudent and cautious approach, careful to guard his own flanks and enforce supply lines before advancing, while only taking up battle in advantageous terrain. However, this also meant the army travelled slowly, only reaching Liboi by the end of the year. The army also engaged in economic warfare through the raiding, looting and burning of fundamentalist farms. This strategy proved to be extremely cumbersome for Zakia to counter, as he masses up his forces and bides his time for another decisive victory. The army of Quelimane returns to the mainland and joins Azizi, enforcing supply lines. The Royalist navy recaptures Socotra and Seychelles. Using the two islands as a base, the navy and marines launch multiple pirating expeditions, including one that sieged down and burned down Berbera before the Fundamentalist armies intervened. Seeing that there will be no foreign support, the fundamentalists must now focus on forcing a quick victory and a royalist capitulation.
  • Jaffarid Sultanate: With the rereating of troops from Palestine, minor celebrations are held. However, civilians are asked to move out of the region until the war is properly over, fearing that once the Greek revellion is over, another assault will take place in Palestine. A few fortresses are built in strategic mountains and towns surrounding Jerusalem as a means of proper fortification to stop against another invasion and occupation. This also happens in Eastern Rum following the retreat of Belkan soldiers. The Sultan take up the offer the Swiss Confederacy has given about the buying of mercenaries, and buys 1000 mercenaries for gold coins. The mercenaries are then sent into infiltrate the Ethiopian Empire and properly assist the rebels and the Ecumencial Caliphate in Cairo. Other orders given are for the assassination of the Ethiopian King/Prince (whoever the leader is), but the mercenaries are not supposed to consider these demands until the perfect moment is given for an assassination to take place. The war in the Caucasus is continued against Russia, with an additional 25,000 troops being sent.
    • House of Jaffar: House leader Abdul Ghafoor, seeing as launching an offensive attack this early with the undeveloped military techology that was inherited from the Rashidun would be detrimental, begins looking for a possible weapons sponsor for the war. Sending envoys, diplomats, and numerous other people to the British territory in India as a means of buying advanced weaponry and military technology from the Royal Crown, paying for it with the natural resources within the Arabian desert (player response). A letter is sent to the Great Khanate, requesting to buy more goods from them throughout the course of the war so that the soldiers fighting the Russian forces can properly get the food without causing a possible famine from occuring within Arabia itself (So basically, the Khanate food is traveled through Persia into the Arabia and then into the Caucasus. This allows for Arabian cuisine to not be used as much and not cause that large of a famine inside Arabia proper due to the war)
  • Federation of Oeste Arcadia (Pueblo Confederacy). After the change of our form of government (from Gerontocracy to pseudo republic) the people decided to change the name of our nation to better fit our diverse demographics. (Player Response). We additionally request a defensive pact with our former enemies, the Comanche (Mod Response)
    • Aztlan Diplomacy: Our senate invites the Puebloan leader to meet with José María Teclo Morelos y Pavón In our capital city of Guadalajara to discus about the future of our nations and their relations to the Aztlan federation.

1795Edit

The Viceroyalty of Peru after careful discussion with its French overlords secures home rule and re-establishes itself as Lé Dominioń Inca, taking after the dominant Quechua ethnic group, forming a parliament and recognizing the King of France as King of Lé Dominon.

In Cairo, the Caliph officially declares his support for revolution in Egypt, leading to the Egyptian population rising in support for the Queen (henceforth named Fawzia). A brilliant young captain named Muhammad Ali greatly weakens the emperor's cause when he sneaks into the fort at Alexandria and opens the gates, allowing the revolutionaries to enter the fort and defeat the emperor's forces. With Alexandria captured, the rest of the Nile River Delta falls into revolutionary hands. The revolution spreads into the Upper Nile and the Kush (Sudan). The Caliph also urges Muslims not to attack Egyptian Copts.

Lothair Bonaparte attempts to begin democracy in the Rhineland but is assassinated by Count Rudolf, who replaces him as Chancellor. The people are furious and encouraged by his son Lothair the Younger, they begin an uprising. The Count attempts to brutally suppress the rebels, but this only further turns them against him.

In Iberia, the king is captured by the Bread Army. After he refuses to accept their demands, the Breads decide to execute him, but are stopped by the British. Instead, he is exiled to the new found land of Australia and is sent there under guard with one ship.

  • Empire of Ethiopia: The Emperor sends more diplomats pleading for Papal Assistance in the Egyptian Revolution Papal Response. Ethiopian Forces struggle to keep South Egypt from falling into rebel Hands, Revolts in small villages and towns are Common, but the over wealming Amount of Ethiopian Soldiers Quickly Put down the Revolts and Occupy the Villages/Towns. North Egypt is Now a warzone and Egyptian Forces and the Ethiopian Navy Fight furiously against the Revolters, an Naval invasion and Naval bombardment of Alexandria is Planned, The Emperor Orders the training and Organization of a New Type of soldiers to fight in Egypt, They are Named 'Dune Troopers' and Are trained to Fight in the Harsh conditions of Egypt, A Nile police Navy is made to police and Bonbard Rebel Towns and cities along the Nile river, the Ethiopian Navy continues to Blockade the Entrance to the Nile River in the north, Egyptian Rebel Controlled towns are beieged in north Egypt, the Prince of Egypt orders the Arrest and Exile of Muhammad Ali, A lost garrison force stumbled upon Cairo and attacks it, they are outnumbered and scattered and lose the fight, but some stay in hiding, one Becomes an Assassin, no one knows of his presences or who he is. The Coptic Church Stays neutral during the Conflict, and Orders all Coptics no matter their race to Stay neutral and do not pariticipate in ANY fighting in the revolution, Egyptians on the South Egyptian Area are recruited as Spies and Mercinaries. Despite the Revolution, the Coptic Pope attends the Papal Election of a new pope (See the college of cardinals). An Envoy is sent to Belka which is carrying an Ethiopian Diplomat and requests Belkan aid in the Egyptian Revolution on the Ethiopian Side Belkan Response.
    • Belka: We accept under certain conditions (need to discuss with you) but will deploy forces immediately.
    • Ethiopian Response: (Alright, I sent you a message to talk about the Conditions). We Thank the Belkans for their Aid and Help, A Military Council is Requested between the Top Military Staffs of both militaries to discuss War Plans.
    • I think your misreading, the event clearly says the entirety of Egypt has risen up, you don't have solid control anywhere. -feud
    • True, but not all Egyptians are Against Ethiopia, South Egypt is still very difficult to control as revolution spreads easily in the area, but yes, 80% of Egyptians are currently revolting. I'll change it.
  • Salish Nation: After a discussion with a Russian trader, Alex develops an interest in the world. Because of this, he purchases an Atlzan style boat, and commisioned a voyage. It is expected to return next year (IT REACHED HAWAII). Might add more later, sorry.
  • Aztlan Federation: After more Discussion in the Federal Senate decides to hold to the non-electionary Transitional Government. This action is seen by many as unlawful but they do accept because of the more liberal ideas in the nation. The President also invites the Puebloan, Comanchan, Brésilian and the Salish leaders to meet in Guadalajara to discuss the future of the Native American states and to discus a potential Alliance between our states. (Player and Mod response). New Banners are also made to get them more unitary with the Colours of the Independent Spirit. The flags most of the time only contain Green, White and Red. With Green representing Justice, White standing for faith and honesty, Red for the blood spilled in the fight for the independence. The territory of Boricano is created from British boranique. As the first state in the country. This is done to get it some form of self rule until they can rule itself as a state when the population and the infrastructure gets ready for it.
    • Pueblo Dip. We will attend the Meeting.
    • Salish Dip: As will we.
    • Brésilian Dip: The Emperor agrees to attend the meeting and elaborate further there.
  • Malaya: In addition to extending relations to other Burgundian protectorates, Malaya now extends relations to Japan, who has assisted Borneo in ridding Asia of the French contaminant. The borders in Borneo are refined, and development continues.
  • Belkan Federation: The dubious abandonment of Central Anatolia leads to some serious issues in the Duma and executive branches as the arguments for this failure are blamed on either. However, with war still on the docket with Arabia, General Brusilov II takes command once again of the military forces under his charge and under extension manages to remove and extricate the Greek and Belkan forces from the East unable to operate behind supply lines. The withdraw of so many troops leads to a clear excess which allows the re-allocation of forces to its new front. 50,000 soldiers under executive command of Brusilov land in Damietta expecting a massive fight bringing a full complement of Belkas marines to facilitate a by the books amphibious invasion hoping to avoid any major hiccups. However, due to the disorganized nature of the revolt Belkan forces to not see a major opposition force this is quickly proven wrong as 70,000 Egyptian troops meet the Belkans in a hard fought battle near Damietta (still in progress until I get blunder). However, the battle is noted to be one that the Belkan landing force very well could lose due to the local numbers and the fact the Egyptian army is not all that far behind technologically. Another force lands in Benghazi having noticeably not suffered any major revolt with another 50,000 troops landing supported by the Belkan navy and beginning the long march on Alexandria with explicit push to secure a major port city in Egypt for Belkan use. With war still in effect with Arabia the Belkan navy imposes a blockade on the Arabian ports in the Med with coastal bombardments and tight patrols of the ports preventing trade ships coming or going. Periodic raids prevent the Arabians from pinpointing a major landing zone. The homeland interestingly enough still keeps up its expansion of factories, as well as its population boom with its population reaching 19.2 million this year. Some reports of a force being deployed to combat the Greek protectorate the Belkan army redeploys its own forces in a show of strength in a clear message to Arabia with nearly 100,000 troops reinforcing the 50,000 Greeks who patrol and fortify the borders as well as heavily fortifying most of the Greek cities in a bid to turn a fight for the region into a slugfest for the Arabians and any turks who arise to support them.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. Azizi and Nabalo captures Afmawdo and marches toward Jilib. Meanwhile, Zakia has placed his forces at the Juba River Valley near Jilib. A series of skirmishes occur which culminated in the Battle of the Juba River Valley, which resulted in a fundamentalist victory, as they beat back the Royalists, suffering 20,000 losses to the Royalist's 30,000. With too little manpower to reinforce supply lines and the constant threat of the Oromo Cavalry, Azizi retreats, but remembers to loot and burn the Juba River Valley again on his way to the Tana lines. The Royal Navy shells Mogadishu and burns the coasts, forcing the Fundamentalists to shift their economic production inland. With the constant economic burden and raids on Fundamentalist Swahili, Zakia is forced to commit his forces into a grand assauly to force Royalist Swahili to capitulate.
  • Empire of Dravidia: The Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran continued his rule over his domain from his seat of government, the city of Hyderabad whilst his Grand Vizier, Sadullah Khan managed day-to-day affairs. The Dravidian population rose to about 62 million with the people flocking to cities like Mysore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kalipur, Tanjore, Madurai, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Kollam, Jagdalpur, Masulipatnam, Visakhapatnam, Gulburga and Mangalore as well as various other minor cities and townships throughout the Empire; primarily due to the rapid urbanization. Along the same time, a standardized professional army of roughly 60,000 Deccan men existed with an additional 200,000 trained men to defend the state from any foreign invasion, with the soldiers armed with flintlock rifles, and supported by iron-cased rocket artillery, designed indigenously in the city of Tanjore. The Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan continues to finance the infiltration of Thuggees into the Iberian enclaves, with Goa being the prime target. The Thuggees are not only trained but also armed by the Dravidians in hopes of stirring up a revolt against the colonial authorities that would allow the Dravidians to swiftly move in. Eventually, after an incident near the border leads to the deaths of 15 Thuggees, the Grand Vizier raises an army of 200,000 men from Mysore and Kerala, and launches an invasion of Goa. Simultaneously, the 200,000 Imperial Army (trained) from the Deccan with the support of the 60,000 Hyderabadi (professional) army attacks the Iberian enclave in Carnatic. Meanwhile, the Emperor orders the construction of forts at Jagdalpur and Coimbatore to commence after being advised to do so by his close friend, Robert Clive. During this period, Robert also befriends the Grand Vizier and the other Viziers.
  • Hawaii: The delegation returns to the islands after touring Brésil and Laurentia, with the King pleased that he was able to foster good relations with a potential trade partner or even ally in the future. In exchange for the Brésilian emperor's generosity he lifts any restrictions on trade with the nation, essentially granting the state free trade. Also this year the expedition from the Salish nation arrives in Hawaii, and the king welcomes the envoys with gifts, hoping to promote trade with Arcadia's nations as well. Expansion into Hawaii's colonial possessions continues, especially in the newly established territory of Mamaopaena (Santa Cruz Islands). Trade with the Orient to the nation's west continues, as sandalwood proves to be a hotly traded commodity in places such as China. A trade expedition is launched that makes contact with Tondo, and the expedition's leaders attempt to foster good relations with the nation.
Joseph Bramah is granted a British patent for hydraulic machinery, notably the hydraulic press. The mining of coal continues to raise in the north of England and Wales as pits grow larger while coal is moved from the canals to the factories of the midlands. Tea is bought over from China as something to ship on the return journey. The rise of the steam engine powers the coal mines pushing Britain to the lead in production while factories are also powered by them. Iron, cotton and other goods are all produced in new mills, factories and smelting plants. England has 7.9 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 5.3 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. Construction work on star forts continues in India in addition to the training and expansion of company run forces. An additional three Hussars regiments are founded in India composed of Muslims while the fortress's continue to be worked on and more Sepoy are trained as soldiers. The force in Iberia is congratulated on a job well done. It's good that they didn't kill the King because it's a bad precedent.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Apaches are settling down, the Kingdom of Avalon votes to create its own military to establish forts around the Great Lakes commissioning a full time force off 600 men to man three forts. The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westward in the search of water. The three Kingdom's still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. The economies of the Kingdom's rely on a series of different things with Savannah exporting a lot of fruit, sugar and cotton while Iroquois grows tobacco, cotton and large herds while Avalon still does larger amounts of fishing as well as staple crops. The population of Avalon is 0.8 million, Iroquois has 1.5 million and Savannah has 1.3 million.
The current religious make up stands at Christian 47%, Zoroastrism 10%,and Islam 43%. With the newly annexed land of Kashmir the land is worked on the cultivate the land and incorperate the land. The Great Khan begins to open up schools in major cities working on a new language named "Khani" which looks like Arabic but is just a knock off. The Great Khan also works on unting all ethnic group by spreading the idea mostly to young children that they are not Turkmen,Kaszka,or any ethnic group but Khanmen united in helping each other. The Great Khan sends to Arabia a letter basically saying "We'll help if you come in here and help us modernize" . A letter is sent to China asking to help modernize the nation with gold and other rich things being sent with the envoy of gold.
    • Jaffarid Diplomacy: We agree to the terms.
  • Jaffarid Sultanate: With the Caliph finally declaring support for a revolution, Sultan Asim II sends 95,000 troops to assist with overthrowing the Ethiopian rule over the region and re-establishing Islamic rule to the region. 700 of our navy ships (I have a 1380 max as per the algo) are sent to properly end the Belkan blocking of the Mediterranean. Realizing that our ships are primarily undeveloped compared to the Belkan ships, the Sultan and many military generals have hope that the large amount of Arabian ships will still be able to defeat the small amount of Belkan ships. 25,000 more troops are sent into the Caucasus as a means of properly pushing out the remaining Russian forces from Shirvan. Our first offensive attack is planned and executed, with an invasion of the 50,000 troops being sent to attack Belkan Anatolia beginning near the middle of the year.
    • House of Jaffar: Envoys, diplomats, and numerous other people are sent to the British territory in India as a means of buying advanced weaponry and military technology from the Royal Crown, paying for it with the natural resources within the Arabian desert (player response).
    • British Dip: No, thank you.
However, his nationalistic stance displaces Greek and Armenian generals in favour of more incompetent Georgian ones. Due to this, unrest grows within the Greek and Armenian elite. While Luarsab is in Eastern Rum, several disgrunted noblemen of Georgia, Armenian priests and Greek traders proclaim Vakhtang Emperor, and force Luarsab to retreat from Eastern Rum and to exit the war.
  • The Magadh Mahajanpada: The Council decide to remake the Shan states as a vassal state, which will be a special tributary to China in an agreement between the Council and the Chinese Emperor. Development projects continues. The Salween River road was completed and so were the irrigation projects. Seeing buildup in the Western states, the council sends emissaries to reassure that the State of Magadh means no harm to them. Two Line Infantry regiments were raised. The construction of the Kannauj fort was commenced.

1796Edit

Despite the coming of Belka, the Egyptian revolutionaries fare quite well due to general incompetence on Ethiopia's part. The Ethiopian military brass are all wealthy nobles who bought their commissions and have no talent for warfare. They are consistently outwitted and defeated by the Egyptians, whose numbers grow everyday. The war becomes unpopular in Ethiopia proper, as many believe the war to be unwinnable and advise the emperor to simply let them go. As it is right now, Ethiopia has no control north of Dongola and is losing ground in Nubia (Sudan).

Egypt has a major accidental victory when Belkan and Ethiopian troops attempt to link up but end up fighting and destroying each other in the middle of the night due to poor communication.

In Iberia, the crown prince offers to end the fighting in exchange for acquiescing to the Bread demands. However, he insists on maintaining the crown, as he refuses to be exiled to the same far flung wasteland as his father. A ceasefire is declared between Bread and Royal troops while the Cortes Generales debates the prince's offer.

Napoleon Bonaparte departs Iberia after becoming a major hero there for his exploits on behalf of the Bread Government and travels to Egypt to help the revolution there. He has not yet heard of his father's death in the Rhineland.

Captain Muhammad Ali leads a secret mission of a few men to capture General Brusilov.

In the Rhineland, Lothair the Younger leads an army to depose Count Rudolf. After killing the Count and purging the council of his supporters, Lothair declares himself Chancellor of the League without opposition. He orders to the Kaiser to accept his rule or stand down.

  • Salish Nation: Our King, Alexander Suiattle, receives the voyage's return with ceremony. Trade is immediately started with the "Hawaiians", and more Voyages are planned for next year. We also send an emissary to the Haida, Walla Walla, and Yakima peoples, requesting that they become vassals of our most glorious people, promising to modernize them. The road from Dwuamish to Lucentium is nearing completion, and is expected to facilitate trade and spreading of ideas, as well as increase our relationship. Our army conducts military drills in the northern areas, near Vancouver, to acclimate itself, as well as deter any imperialist actions. Dwuamish is expanded to accommodate the bursting population, and Tacoma is as well. A new settlement, in OTL Packwood, is founded, called ognevaya gora.

  • Belkan Federation: No matter how close the victory, the ability of the Belkan marines first true action in forcing a landing at Damietta goes down in Military theory and history as one of the first uses of Belkan marines in combat providing a lot of first hand accounts and experience to further improve for later. The victory no matter how close allows the usage of some of the cities Port Facilities which sees the influx of nearly 50,000 more troops, with the Belkan navy in all regards conscripting merchant ships for use to allow for this expansion of the conflict and the troops in Benghazi are also pulled out leaving a small garrison of 5000 from Tunis in Benghazi with a small transport fleet to evacuate them if needed. With 150,000 now on hand, in various position at the port and around it Brusilov begins the big push slamming into the Egyptian forces at Damietta full force, fully intending to break them and make a beeline for Alexandria and then Cairo. Due to the extreme danger of the Situation, the Officers and high command structure are put under the guard of Belka's elite Grenadiers, and the camp is effectively insulated in concentric rings of defense to prevent infiltration. A series of Forts are built along the coastal port so as to remain a back up in case of a failed offensive. However, the Belkan forces slam into the still 70,000 strong Egyptian force full head, intending to railroad them out of the city and give the army some room to maneuver. The idea here is particularly to hit them hard and push them South and East toward Cairo and the city of Suez. As well as having seen the marines, the Belkan army deploys its first uses of Curiassiers and Hussars against the Egyptians. The navy as well expands the blockade from Arabia to Egypt bringing two more ten-ship squadrons parking them off the coast of Alexandria and Damietta to remain in support and blockading efforts. At home, the lacking performance of the Russians and the retreat of Pontus buts Vozdh Milosevic in a bad position politically. However, with the hawks retaining majority in the Duma elections this year and the secure beachhead in Egypt the people who understand what is going on generally understand they might be in this for the long haul. While difficult expenses are cut in every day lives, and the Vozdh while enacting the unpopular move against his campaign platform raises Taxes to put another 100,000 men in the field. While this happens, it does see some damper occur on the further process of industrializing some cities as money being diverted hurts factory expansion. However, the arms and textile industries make fielding an army much easier and the government spending into this causes not only their expansion, but also a boom as these industries build guns, cannons, munitions, uniforms, and all sorts of other military product. The naval yards go into overdrive as supplied to replace capital ship losses, and transport ships begin to be built in mass to ferry troops around and also allow the merchant marine to get back to their usual goings on. Deep into the year, after two major battles, the Belkan forces manage to fully capture Damietta fully establishing itself in Egypt and beginning to ship in supplies and securing the hinterlands around the cities. The main push, however, is toward Cairo with 30,000 troops and a scouting force of 10,000 is sent to Alexandria.

  • Papal States: After the death of Pope Innocent IX last year, the College of Cardinals has managed to elect a successor: Archbishop Henry of Canterbury, who is keeping his baptismal name and will reign as Pope Henry. The new Pope promulgates the decrees of the Council of Vasiligrad, which finally closed last year. His Holiness sends more money to help Ethiopia. Missions continue in Uluru, Zulu and Western Arcadia.
  • Aztatl Alteptlatskostli: Our president Asks the Salish, Comanches and Brésilians to Join the "Aliança dos Irmãos" to defend our nations from foreign European aggression (PLAYER RESPONSE). The Academia da Ciência is founded in Mérida as an academy to aid the scientific development in the Aztlan federation these progresses should mostly be for the common man. It is founded by nationalists from the "Mēxihcah iluitsintli" a party who support the modernisation of the "Aztatl Alteptlatskostli". They also support war against pagan Non-Roman-Catholic tribes and nations. To the extent that they even want to kill non-Athabaskan, Nahuatl or Portuguese speakers. The Senate and the Barican territorial administration offer the papal states its territory as a new land of Christianity and its faith, if they will accept common Aztatl laws, languages and culture (Papal response). Distillaria de Rum de Rico begins to gain more widespread control in our nation with it already becoming the biggest distillery in Maiam and Tejas. This makes the company really influential over the country. And with it now Exporting to other nations like the United Kingdom and Brésil.
  • Hawaii: Expansion and colonization across the Pacific continues, especially in new settlements in the west and southwest. The nation sees a rise in trade thanks to the government's recent policies and trade expeditions to the many emerging nations in Laurentia and Arcadia, especially with Brésil, the Salish, and other states. The first Hawaiian-made brig, the HHMS Kaimiloa, is completed this year in Honolulu, while later in the year in Kaluahine the HHMS Kamehameha is completed. The ships tour the Pacific, stopping in many Hawaiian cities and others along the Pacific Rim, traveling first to the Salish, then south to the Aztlan cities of Grande Califórnia, then Papeete, Tahiti, Moena in the Lalani Pae 'aina, Tongareva in the Lui-anakoni Pae 'aina, Majuro in Komohana, and others, before returning to Hawaii proper.
  • Empire of Dravidia: In the Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran's absence, his son Ziyad continued his rule over his domain from his seat of government, the city of Hyderabad whilst his Grand Vizier, Sadullah Khan managed day-to-day affairs. Among these cash crops, jute, mulberry, silk and muslin in particular served as the most important exports given the general need for them in Europe. Along the same time, a standardized professional army of roughly 60,000 Deccan men existed with an additional 200,000 trained men to defend Ziyad's regime from any foreign invasion, with the soldiers armed with flintlock rifles, and supported by iron-cased rocket artillery, designed indigenously in the city of Tanjore. With the help of the Thuggee infiltrators, the uprising by the general public and the invading Dravidian armed forces, the Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan was able to finally vanquish the Iberians from India; bringing an end to their colonial presence in the region. The Iberian enclaves in Maharashtra and the Circars were annexed into the neighbouring provinces whilst an entirely new province was created for Goa at the behest of the city's Konkani populace. Later that year, the Emperor fell victim to pneumonia, forcing him to retreat to his official residence, Chowmahalla Palace. Realizing that the end was near, the Emperor invited his close friend, Sir Robert Clive and the Grand Vizier, Sadullah Khan to his deathbed, informing them of his will and designating his elder son, Shiraz Shah Agran as his heir. Unfortunately for the Emperor, Robert Clive altered the testament, naming the ambitious Ziyad Shah Agran as the heir instead with the documents soon receiving the Emperor's seal to make them official. This, of course, happened due to treachery on part of the Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan, the Lesser Viziers and the Chancellor as they were in on this plot, having been promised riches by Robert if they successfully placed the Pro-British younger son on the throne instead of the fanatic Shiraz. As for Haider, his situation would continue to deteriorate over the year, eventually reaching a stage where he would practically be incapable of comprehending anything at all, making any attempt to question the validity of the documents nil. In time, news of the Emperor's testament reached all corners of the Empire and realizing that he had been cheated out of his birthright, Shiraz began preparing for war, gaining the support of the Southern Amirs and taking Mysore for his capital. Simultaneously, Ziyadalso started his preparations as he toured the Empire and convinced the Northern Amirs, particularly those in the Deccan to swear fealty to him. This conflict more or less essentially divided the Empire into two halves. The odds were neither against or in favour of anyone of two, as whilst Ziyad controlled the capital city of Hyderabad, had the support of the Thuggees and held the technologically and tactically advanced professional and national army under his grip, Shiraz on the other hand could raise much larger levies due to having more manpower available and possessed the prized rocketmen regiments. It was now only a matter of time before the conflict started and it would certainly take no more than a few years for it to end but whoever came out on top, whether it changed the nation for better or for worse, what was certain was that it would change Dravidia forever.
Completion of the first cast iron aqueducts, on the English canals. Opening to traffic of the Wearmouth Bridge in England, designed by Thomas Paine in cast iron. The second in this material built after that at Ironbridge, but over twice as long, its span of 237 feet (72 m) makes it the world's longest single-span vehicular bridge extant at this date. England has 7.9 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 5.5 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. Construction work on star forts continues in India in addition to the training and expansion of company run forces. An additional three Hussars regiments are founded in India composed of Muslims while the fortress's continue to be worked on and more Sepoy are trained as soldiers perfecting the company army. The ceasefire is good news and the Bread government is encouraged to accept the fair deal with the Crown prince. Seeing the rapid rise of Belka and aware that Arabia is quite close their lands in India the British are concerned about the defeat of the weak Islamic forces to the powerful European armies. The British offer to the French, Burgundy and Bread government to form a coalition to defend Arabia from being overrun by Belka (Mod response). A task force of 50 ships is assembled at Gibraltar while the experienced 15,000 troops of the Iberian civil war also stationed in Gibraltar ready to move to the Eastern Mediterranean to end the war.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Apaches are settling down, the Kingdom of Avalon votes to create its own military to establish forts around the Great Lakes commissioning a full time force off 600 men to man three forts. The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westward in the search of water. The three Kingdom's still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. The economies of the Kingdom's rely on a series of different things with Savannah exporting a lot of fruit, sugar and cotton while Iroquois grow tobacco, cotton and large herds while Avalon still does larger amounts of fishing as well as staple crops. The population of Avalon is 0.8 million, Iroquois has 1.7 million and Savannah has 1.5 million.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Patagonië expands 50 px. Settlement of Sint Maarten (OTL Bathurst Island) continues. In Sumatra and Aceh, birth rates begin rising. In Burgundy proper, the use of steam engines is expanded, and more factories are built.
  • Empire of Japan: The acquisition and conquest of the former French colonies of Java, Bali, Northern and Southern Sulawesi, etc. have brought unprecedented wealth and prosperity to us and this flooding of money from the coffee and spice trade is fueling the engine to not only preserve and defend what we have from a reconquest by France, but to expand Nippon's Empire to all corners of the world, thus heavy investment is made to the development of a modern fleet, specifically Ships of the Line, which spurs the creation of modern ships and the training of marines and is expected to be complete by 1800, the dawn of the new century. Simultaneously, interest peaks in the emerging Arcadian nation Aztlan as news reaches Kyoto and Edo about it and four expeditions are sent to Arcadia, one going with Russian colonists, the other going to Hawaii to establish trade with them, the third to establish trade with Aztlan, and the fourth to attempt colonization of the west coast of Arcadia.
  • Pontus: Missionaries travel all the way into China, preaching and healing Chinese people in need of help. Vakhtang's troops liberate the Turks and employ them in fights against Luarsab. Rebuilding continues in Trebizond. The Civil War continues, with battles withing Georgia and the Trebizond region. Vakhtang seeks Arabian support in this war.
  • Savoy: The Grand Duke of Savoy asks for a conference with France to renegotiate the Treaty of Nice for full Savoyard independence. Savoy sends gifts to Iberia/Grand Iberia and the Italian league to improve relations with both countries. Savoy reforms its military to strengthen its army and Navy.
  • Scandinavia: With the recent revolutions in Iberia and the South of America. King Alexander offers both the Leaders of Russia and of Prussia to come to Riksdale, under a banner of peace to discuss a triple entente to secure their equal futures as members of Europes Great Powers. While in Arcadia Vinland and Prince Eric's land move inland and toward Lake Superior. (50 px)
  • Swahili: We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. Zakia begins the year with a major offensive of the combined armies of Zakia, Mogadishu and Berbera, effectively abandoning much of the coast in hope of the capitulation of the Royalists. In order to reinforce his armies, he promised the Oromo tribes and Mujarteen Kingdoms independence if he were to win this war in exchange for their support. He gained over 20,000 Oromo cavalrymen and another 40,000 Mujarteen volunteers. With over 190,000 soldiers, he ordered a full assault across the Tana defence line. The garrison, only of the 50,000 of the Army of Mombasa, is forced to withdraw but is able to delay the Fundamentalist army by almost a month. Immediately, Khalfani assembles an army to be combined and commanded by Azizi. Numbering over 240,000 soldiers, the Grand Swahili army is composed of the previous armies of Mombasa, Quelimane, Zanzibar and the revived Northern Malindi. In order to relieve supply issues, both sides decide to divide their army, with the fundamentalists splitting into two armies, one to capture Malindi as a supply waypoint and the order to continue advancing as a vanguard. Meanwhile, the Royalists also split, with one reinforcing the East and the order the West in order to prevent a repeat of Zakia's manoeuvre across Tana in the first phase of the war. With most armed personnel in the Berbera and Somalia gone, the Royalist navy captures Somalia and Berbera, but is unable to advance due to supply issues, the desert terrain and Oromo harassment. The Royalist Navy also splits off a squadron to enforce Sefuwa. Now that Iberia is experiencing internal turmoil, the Swahili navy recaptures Olungu, and also many other Iberian coasts on the West coast of Africa. Muzzle loaded rifles begin to be given to skirmish units of Royalist Swahili. Flintlock artillery is also developed and set to be the standard of the Swahili army. The textile, arms and machinery industry also continues growth due to the war demand.
    • Ethiopian Military advisors visit Swahili and are amazed with the flintlock artillery and request to be given some flintlock artillery or at least the blueprints for it.
  • Tui Tonga: On the Island of Viti Levu, the next son to lead the total people named Losua Loane takes the throne of his father, Kainoa Loane. As the ceremony occurs, a large ceremony is held across the island with people coming all the way from Opolu. Flames from the festival could be seen all the way to Vanua Levu. As life moves on, education of the youth of the islands remains important with a letter sent across all of the islands under our rule. when the message is finally delivered to the elders of each island, revamping of the education system starts up again with hundreds of huts being constructed in total for teaching purposes. In the meantime our army also sees a lot of recruits this year with 8000 warriors joining to be trained for the next five years and to help expand our nation's reaches and help find new islands. The capital of our nation is moved to OTL Fiji in order to place it in the center of our nation's trade routes and political control instead of it being distant from the rest of the islands under our rule. The elders happen to find this decision to be "wise". Our nation send 30 of our ships including 300 warriors with several island nobles to work out negotiations with the Samoans to rejoin our nation and be a part of a reformed empire to better each others wealth and expand our reaches across the seas (MOD Response). A new island is discovered to the south of Vanuatu OTL Lasoa and Isangel by 20 ships sent there earlier this year. This excites the elders and plans to begin sending people over to colonize the lands begin as 30 explorers are sent to see if the islands would be ideal. By the end of the year, when the explorers return, they claim that the island would be a perfect place to live. 300 craftsmen are sent to the larger of the newly discovered islands, OTL Isangel to begin building huts and structures to prepare for the arrival of colonizers. In the meantime, 210 sail ships are ordered to be built across all of Tui Tonga. A second Tui Tonga Empire might be on the rise in Oceania.
    • OOC: I believe you already currently own Samoa.
    • Hawaiian Diplomacy: A delegation is sent from Hawaii to greet the new king, and to ensure that good relations continue between the two powers.
  • The Great Khanate: The Khanate begins to work on modernizing the state as the Khan begins to trade with traders from Persia and Afghanistan. We send an envoy to Russia, Persia and China asking for a trade deal. Roads are worked on and the Khan moves people to Turkmenibat, Bukara and river-like cities. While this happens attempts are made to create vast amount of fertile land to create food. This does lead to the dislike of the Khan but the vast majority of people are too busy living to protest or fight. The religion of the Khanate goes under a new revolution as Islam makes a small kick back mostly around Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan region as more and more trade is conducted with Persia and Arabia. The current religious make up stands at Christian 45%, Zoroastrianism 10%,and Islam 45%. The Great Khan begins to open up schools in major cities working on a new language named "Khani" which looks like Arabic but is just a knock off. The Great Khan also works on uniting all ethnic group by spreading the idea mostly to young children that they are not Turkmen, Kaszka or any ethnic group but Khanmen united in helping each other, most people ignore the idea tho,Tribes in the Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan under the rule of an imam named Amer Abdullah. Amer Abdullah begins operations of uniting other tribes into his rule. This causes the Great Khan to work on countering his influence.

1797Edit

After Bread Lord Cuelho declines the crown prince's offer, the Cortes Generales decides to depose him and replace him with the Bread Consul Jorge Montalban. The Consul decides to accept the crown prince's offer and crowns him as a king in the limited British fashion. Meanwhile, the Bread Lord is exiled to Newfoundland, like the old king.

In Ethiopia, the Emperor's advisers strongly advise him to give up the war against Egypt, as Ethiopian forces continue to be destroyed and have no effect. They tell him that he should just leave it to Belka.

Meanwhile, the Caliph convinces Maghreb to enter the war after extensive negotiations. They send their navy to break the Belkan blockade and prepare to send troops as well. Also, Napoleon Bonaparte marries Queen Fawzia of Egypt.

In the Rhineland, Lothair the Younger continues to impose his will unchecked.

  • Tui Tonga: As life continues with the new King, Loane decides to order a palace to be constructed for his family with the marriage of Moana of Futuna happening this year. metallurgy becomes more of a use for crafting with iron knives and gold jewelry becoming more of a common use. A long sword is used while experimenting with iron and gold metals (quite similar to the machete) by a craftsman named Paholoua Bericu. This new weapon is given as a wedding gift to the king himself. This weapon following the wedding made the King quite fond of it and decided after being able to cut through the thick plantation with it and use it against dummies in combat training for the warriors that it could even possibly cut through an enemy. This gave Paholoua a high-ranking then previously giving him the chance to create more tools using his practices of metals and also allowing him to teach others how to make these weapons. By the end of the year, this new weapon becomes quite common and three-fourths of the weapons produced are sent to the warrior's weaponry storage bank in northern Viti Levu with 200 more ordered to be made and sent to Tonga Island. As plans to colonize the newly discovered islands are finalized, 1000 huts are ordered to be completed in both OTL Lasoa and Isangel. Each island will also be run by an elected Elder by the king himself. With the rise of further expansion on the rise, we send a fleet of 80 ships westward. 40 of the ships lands on the coast of the Uluru. This becomes a strange yet intriguing sight as this type of encounter never happened previously leading to some communication and 30 of the warriors and five explorers being left behind to get to know the people more. Three diplomats and one scholar are sent over with five ships to gather more information. Some of the words and language being spoken sound quite similar to ours but different nonetheless. All we understand is that we had made contact with the people known as the Uluru. We request to be taken to their leader to possibly begin working to better 'each others' understanding and also possibly work to build political relations (Player Response). With time moving on, our education huts begin to be more effective with literacy rates rising. writing with tablet carvings being more common and our first library type structure being built this year to store tablet writings and more. an area for religious worship is built standing 30 feet tall and 120 feet wide. Marketplaces become more common and peace of gold and iron begin to become more of a common use to buy and sell items instead of the trade yet both methods of purchase stay about the same but some scholars believe that gold and iron would soon become a common currency. The other 20 ships that were sent out this year finally land in OTL New Caledonia, and as per usual, the thought of colonization begins to be brought up again. Another Craftsman with the specialty of shipbuilding decides to create a new concept for constructing a larger Tongan ship being much wider and much more seaworthy. This ship though fails as a cyclone comes by and destroys the prototype. Fortunately, though, a new design is quickly brought up with the prototype design consisting of a much taller, wider, and longer base with six masts on top with sails. This design is praised by the king and would like to see some changes such as possibly a longer ship with a less tall height (sort of resembling the size of old Greek ships but without paddles necessary). A final design is planned to be released next year for the king's viewing. With the arrival of Hawaiian diplomats, we agree to better relationships an request to trade with them (Player Response).
    • Japanese DIplomacy: We make contact with Tui Tonga and offer them trade.
  • Aztatl Alteptlatskostli: The Senate elections are held for the first time in our nation. With the results being quite one sided. Mēxihcah Iluitsintli toke 73.6% of all seats in the Federal Senate. This means a big shift in the nations politcs since the ideals of mēxihcah iluitsintli were thought to be quite unknown and unsupported. This is now known to be wrong since most landowners and traders voted for them and they being the only ones who are able to vote gave the Greenshirts a huge amount of votes. Green and Black rises first times in history in Tenochtitlán. Their leader Raul Augusthino Diltwa says this in a realy "A vontade dos astecas aumentará, Deus defenda nossa terra, defendemos Deus em nossas terras" ("The will of the Aztecs will rise. God defend our land. We defend God in our lands"). He also promise that he will send a convoy of ships to hawaii next year to meet with their mythical nation. And send people to galapagos island to find and explore its animals. The Federalist party is founded in Santo Didacus by the independent candidates who lost against the Mēxihcah Iluitsintli. This party is founded on the idea of having the least amount of central control that is posible. To have Liberty for the states.
  • Savoy: The Grand Duke of Savoy asks for a conference with France to renegotiate the Treaty of Nice for full Savoyard independence (Mod or Player Response as France, Basically the person in charge of France). Savoy sends more gifts to Iberia/Grand Iberia and the Italian league to improve relations with both countries. Savoy now reforms its economy having finished the military reforms.
  • Empire of Dravidia (Ziyad): With Haider Shah's death in the first week of January, his son and incumbent heir, Ziyad conducted his coronation ceremony at the capital city of Hyderabad; being proclaimed the Emperor of Dravidia in the presence of the Grand Vizier, the Chancellor, the Lesser Viziers and foreign dignitaries. The ceremony not only stregthened Ziyad's claim to the throne but having met with representatives from various regional as well as distant nations, it painted a very clear picture to the foreign powers as to which one of the two was going to be beneficial to them. As for Shiraz, the ceremony not only served the grim task of enlightening him of his international isolation but it also made it clear that he had lost the mandate of the people of Deccan and without the Deccan, there was no Agran stronghold of any sort. Certainly not in the South which was rather exceptionally subservient to those that once served under Tirupati's Maharajya. In fact, it seemed incredibly odd to some that they had chosen to support the fanatic Shiraz in the first place. Nevertheless, there was no time for such trivial issues now. Nay, it was time for war. Soon after the ceremony, officials letters were sent to the governments of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and that of Magadh, calling upon them to honour their alliances by supporting Ziyad against the treacherous rebels. Simultaneously, levies were raised by the regime with nearly 260,000 men (60,000 Trained, 200,000 Levy) deployed at Hyderabad. Meanwhile, desperately needed military reforms were passed by Ziyad, increasing the size of a battalion from 300-500 to 1000 men as well as renovating and improving the armaments possessed by the Imperial Guard. Units such as the Hyderabad Guard in particular were now assigned to accompany the Emperor at all times whilst the elite infantry corps, the Razakars were more or less incorporated into the professional army. Later that year, the Emperor Ziyad assembled the Dravidian Emperor national army at Gulburga, with the size of the forces numbering around 200,000 (60,000 Professional, 140,000 Trained) and began marching toward the battlefield of Srirangapatna, aiming for the city of Mysore. This army was directly led by the Emperor himself, personally commanding the middle guard in a show of support to his soldiers and to raise moral. On their way toward Srirangapatna, these forces were joined in by allied reinforcements as 150,000 British auxiliary forces (and the Magadhi army. Assuming Dev helps) arrived in response to the call for help. Together, this allied host continued on toward their designated target. Whilst this army marched onward into foreign territory, the previously raised 200,000 levies and the 40,000 Trained soldiers were kept at Hyderabad to keep the city protected. Simultaneously as this onslaught upon the Southerners started, Ziyad who had inherited two-thirds of the navy (600 ships) due to acquiring the major naval harbours of Kalipur and Visakhapatnam imposed a naval blockade upon the city of Kollam and specifically targeted the Kollam harbour in hopes of pre-emptively wiping out Shiraz's navy.
  • Magadh: The council pledges 100,000 (40,000 trained, 30,000 professional, 30,000 untrained conscripts) troops to support our ally, Emperor Ziyad.
(Solace RESPONSE).
    • Papal Diplomacy: The Papacy offers support for the Pontus missionaries from the Immaculata (ttl Jesuit) missionaries already in China.
    • Pontine Diplomacy: We accept a form of cooperation with the Immaculata, but don't adopt the Papal authority clause.
  • Papal States: Pope Henry makes a sermon in Rome about his namesake, Saint Henry of Finland, a contemporary of the first English Pope, Adrian IV. In the sermon, His Holiness lamented that the land for the conversion of which his namesake had expended so much time, and ultimatly his life, was removed from the bounds of the universal Church by schism. As such, after the sermon, the Pope writes to the Church of Scandinavia urging it to put aside its differences and accept the loving embrace of the rest of Christendom. In the States, some municipalities change their voting rules, allowing all adult male residents to elect the municipal representatives to the Parlamento. Missions continue, with the majority of resources bring given to the Zulu, Uluru, and Western Arcadian missions.
  • Empire of Ethiopia: The Ethiopian emperor questions his advisors cowardliness. "Are you All Cowards?! I should have you all replaced!!! Belka is about to be gang banged by like four major powers!!! And you want us to just give up? How is this gonna look to the World? That The Great Ethiopian Empire can't even Manage to afford their civil wars and needs someone else to do the dirty work for them? Outrageous! Did we give up In The Second Arab-Ethiopian War? NO! We won that conflict when we were the last ones left along with Iran! Everyone one of our allies betrayed us besides Iran and we STILL won! I'd think you would be Egyptian spies if I didn't know all your mothers!! Begone, men! If I see another one of these Pointless Meetings where you are saying "Give up everything and let the Europeans do the work for us" I'm replacing you all!!! Is that clear???"

"Yes sire" *The Advisors leave the room* "Ugh, people have no hope or trust in me do they?". The Emperor Calls up his Imperial Army staff and plans an attack on Badhis (OTL Luxor) which is in a Rebel controlled part of the Nile, the next day the attack is carried out and 500 men plus 50 South Egyptian volunteers arrive at Badhis and immediately attempt to siege the Fledgling city (I guess do this in The talk page? mod Response). The Emperor Orders for five ships of the line to be built by the end of the year. 100,000 Soldiers are fighting in The Egyptian Revolution. A further Reenforcment of the Nile blockade is done.

  • Swahili: We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The army of Zakia captures Malindi. However, the army of Mogadishu encounters the Royalists armies at the East Usambara Mountains at March. Both sides begin to reinforce their armies, as the Royalists must guard the path to Zanzibar while the Fundamentalists must defeat the Royalist armies and force them into capitulation. By June, the plains and hills of East Usambara has become camps of over 400,000 soldiers. While the Royalists continues to be well supplied due to the economic might of Royalist Swahili, the Fundamentalist supply route has been under constant harassment, with most of Fundamentalists supply trains blockaded at sea and ambushed on land. Due to supply issues, many of the cavalry units had to kill their horses to feed themselves, effectively turning into infantry. Only 15,000 cavalry remained of the original close to 30,000 strong cavalry army. The constantly dwindling supplies and falling morale forced Zakia to commit to a final attack upon Royalist positions in hope of overwhelming and routing them, thereby securing a direct undefended path to Zanzibar. It seemed that fate was also on Zakia's side, as a torrential downpour during the normally and otherwise dry summer season gave him the perfect chance to leverage his powerful melee units and prevent the gunpowder intensive Royalists from using their full strength. The rain effectively silenced the Royalist Artillery for most of the battle. Zakia began with a quick advance of his wings, forcing the less melee trained and less motivated Royalists to take the engagement at close quarters. The Royalists take the bait and also marches its center down, hoping to outflank the overexposed flanks. However, the Fundamentalist center was disguised in the forests and surprises the Royalist center with a charge. Now that the Royalist army is pinned down, Zakia hoped to end the entire battle with a swift cavalry charge. He launches his cavalry across the hills, until it was intercepted by a smaller, but unexpected cavalry force of around 10,000. After the disastrous destruction of the Army of Northern Malindi, Royalist Swahili has also raised its own cavalry based on a more European style training. The training also improved their anti-cavalry abilities in contrast to the hit-and-run tactics of the tradition nomad Oromo cavalry, forcing them to take the engagement and stop their maneuver. Fortunately for Zakia, the engagement was fairly far away from the main battle, meaning that the Royalist cavalry is also unable to reinforce the Royalist army. Zakia began a second offensive, dedicating his rear guard into a charge into the Royalist weak point. However, the blessing of rain soon turned into a curse, as the muddy terrain slowed down the charge significantly, preventing a decisive breakthrough. The middle ground has become a bloody close quartered struggle between Royalists and Fundamentalists. At this time of emergency, the Royalist artillery also began using the few precious bags of gunpowder that were still dry. It was then Zakia decided to begin withdrawal. It was then that the unexpected happened. While it was still debated whether it was a lightning strike, a lucky Royalist artillery, Royalist espionage sabotage, the command flag of Zakia fell in the midst of the battle. Nevertheless, the fell of the flag convinced many soldiers that Zakia was killed, and combined with the orders of withdrawal, a chain rout began across the Fundamentalist lines. The Royalists, sensing Fundamentalist weakness, began its pursuit and Azizi sends in his rear guards for an offensive. The Fundamnetalists completely break and runs from the battlefield. The Royalists have secured a decisive victory. In the following days and weeks, Malindi was retaken and Fundamentalist casualities has gone up to 150,000, to the Royalists 40,000. Zakia tries to reorganize his troops for a desperate defense in the Fundamentalist heartland. Meanwhile, the royal marines continue down the coast of Berbera.
    • Swahili Diplomacy: We send some money and goods to Dravidia and Ethiopia for their fight, though we can't send much due to the toll of the civil war.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: King Rogier quietly sends envoys to Britain, telling them Burgundy would be interested in a coalition, but that they would need definite commitments from the other potential partners before agreeing. Industry expands in Burgundy.
    • The new Bread Government under the Bread Consul would also be interested now that the Bread War is resolved. -s
    • British Dip: The new Iberian government and the British government would be sending 60 ships each to participate in the defence of Arabia. We would like Burgundy to make the same commitment.
  • Illinois Confederation: A great chief named Silver Lynx starts to place his tribe around IRL Jefferson city MO, he names it illibuck, he also sets up a back up  HQ  in thicket of Briers and Honey locusts called maci-akaawia or devils brier in English (diables brier in French) we start to hunt around the area and starts to grow buckwheat and other grains, he send out scots eastward to finder traders, we raise 400 army braves just for safety, we also expand 20 px toward the west (Sedalia MO).
  • Jaffarid Arabia: Sultan Asim II orders the sending of weaponry, military technology, and also sends a few high ranking military advisers into Pontus as a means of fueling the rebellion. Sultan Asim II, seeing the new Belkan presence within Damietta, pulls back the navy from the Mediterranean and, after collecting a trained army of 120,000, goes to Cairo, to battle alongside the Caliphate troops to push out Belka from the city and the Ecumenical Rashidun itself. Once Cairo is secured, the remaining troops, outside of Sultan Asim II, will be led by a different military general into Damietta itself to reclaim it and fully end Belka's military presence in Egypt and their support for Ethiopia. Possibly more later.
    • Empire of Ethiopia: The Emperor sees that Jaffari presence in Egypt is gonna make the Revolution harder to win, he, for once, actually Sits down and thinks about the possibility of Giving up and surrendering as if Belka is pushed out of their major holdings in northern Egypt, it would be suicide to Just throw more troops into an Jaffari backed Rebel Group, he calls in his Military Circle and imperial circle to discuss this issue.
    • Ethiopia: We call for an Armistice with The Egyptian Rebels (I'm gonna become Hungary now, I'll represent Ethiopia during treaties and Conferences for the Egyptian revolution)
  • Hungary: In Hungary, the Yezeto (That Means Ruler In Hungarian): Zoltan Bathory creates a new law which basically Crowns him Regent Of Hungary After the current king died (which is estimated to be next year) the king testifies this but is just shunned by Bathory and his Followers in Government. Bathory has pledged to Make Hungary Great again, and has Nationalized the Army, And Boosted the Economy up to rival ring other powerful Economies again! He pushes for an Alliance between Hungary, Russia, and Belka, Even Promoting a Possible Triple Entent (Blekan and Russian Response) Parliament Is getting more and more useless as The majority is filled with Blind Bathory supporters who think everything he Requests is Geniius and passes it, Giving Bathory more power and influence over Hungarian Politics, Bathory pushes for More Hungarian Nationalism and schools to teach the greatness of being an Hungarian is, but is getting denied, next year things might change though....

Completion of the first cast iron aqueducts, on the English canals. England has 7.9 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 5.5 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. Construction work on star forts continues in India in addition to the training and expansion of company run forces. 30,000 Sepoys are deployed in eastern Delhi while the fortress's continue to be worked on and more Sepoy are trained as soldiers perfecting the company army. 140,000 Sepoy and 10,000 British soldiers from Britain all of which are professional, line infantry containing grenadier companies and hussar's regiments joins up with Ziyad's army on the way to Srirangapatna and fights alongside them. A task force of 60 British ships and 60 ships from the Bread government are requested (Mod response) sail for Beirut to defend Arabia from an amphibious assault.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The Apaches are settling down, the Kingdom of Avalon votes to create its own military to establish forts around the Great Lakes commissioning a full time force off 600 men to man three forts. Each of the three kingdoms maintain a free trade status with Britain while restrict trade to other European powers. The Kingdom of Iroquois expands 50 px west from Henry's Land into OTL West Virginia. The Kingdom of Avalon expands 50 px west toward Lake Superior. The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westward in the search of water. The three kingdoms still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. The economies of the kingdoms rely on a series of different things with Savannah exporting a lot of fruit, sugar and cotton while Iroquois grow tobacco, cotton and large herds while Avalon still does larger amounts of fishing as well as staple crops. The population of Avalon is 0.8 million, Iroquois has 1.9 million and Savannah has 1.7 million.
    • Bread: Yes.

1798Edit

At the place where the White Nile joins the Blue Nile, Napoleon Bonaparte commands the Egyptian army in a massive victory. He traps the Ethiopians between the two rivers and then crushes them against the water. While Muhammad Ali continues to fight Belka in the north, Ethiopia's offer of armistice is accepted and the Egyptians turn their attention to driving out Belka.

Muhammad Ali succeeds in capturing General Brusilov, but Brusilov escapes from captivity and returns to his men.

  • Dravidian Empire (Ziyad): Despite numerically outnumbering and technologically outmatching the enemy forces at Srirangapatna, the battle unfortunately resulted in nothing more than a pyrrhic victory. In fact, Ziyad was only able to establish a foothold in the region and still had to drive out Shiraz. At this point, it seemed quite obvious that it was now only a matter of time before the two encampments at either side of Srirangapatna clashed again. Thankfully for Ziyad, despite the ferocity and rigidity of Shiraz's forces, his own army did not lose heart and remained steadfas, having found the sight of the Emperor fighting alongside them to be empowering. As had been predicted, in just a matter of a few months, both these armies met in the field yet again. Simultaneously as this battle raged on, the navy under Ziyad's uncle, Idris Shah decisively won their assault upon Kollam's harbour, having caught Shiraz's forces completely offguard. As a result of the victory, more than 200 Shiraz's were destroyed or captured and the harbour itself burned down. As for Kollam, the city was placed under a naval blockade. Meanwhile, an aide of Robert Clive who had been stationed at Hyderabad to administer the city in the Emperor's absence decided to take advantage of the recent turn of events. Having been notified that Shiraz was tied down at Srirangapatna whilst his navy had been destroyed, Warren Hastings began marching the 240,000 (40,000 Trained and 200,000 Levies) soldiers at the capital toward Masulipatnam via Visakhapatnam in hopes of driving Shiraz out of the Circars.
  • China: The contents of imperial examination is revamped, while traditionally it only held basic geometry (such as trigonometry) and arithmetic, the reformed contents include calculus and algebra (transmitted via Immaculata missionaries). Due to an oversaturated bureaucracy, the quota on imperial examination is enforced. The White Lotus Revolt occurs in the province of Sichuan, with its extremist followers seeking the reimposition of Buddhism as a state religion at the expense of Confucianism, a ban against all Abrahamic faiths, and the restoration of the House of Zhu (the Ming royal house). Initially a tax protest, promises of salvation for its followers and the advent of Maitreya and the Return of Buddha, drawn in many disenfranchised Sichuanese Han farmers under poverty through the reinforcement of land tax. Joining the revolt are ethnic minorities such as Tibetan hill people, Miao, and Zungars - all resisting the policy of "Huacization" or sinification coupled with the adoption of Confucianist practices. Meanwhile, the Qianlong Emperor sends Helin and Fuk'anggan to quell the rebellion, and places the entire province of Sichuan under martial law. The hopae system is enforced, particularly for the inhabitants of Sichuan in order to monitor the movements of the revolutionaries. However, in response to his weakening health and his age, Jin royalty coerce the Qianlong Emperor to voluntarily relinquish his position at the throne at a ripe age of 87, and instead installs 38-year old Kim Ongyeom to the throne, assuming the regnal name Jiaqing. However, the Qianlong Emperor still rules as the co-Emperor. Receiving state investment, the Holy Confucian Church ramps up its free public distribution of compilations of Confucian holy texts, and encouraging Confucians to join the Church and participate in communal rites as interpreted from traditional Confucian texts. To avoid financial troubles, state intervention within the economy is restricted. All chaebols are cut from government subsidies, while the few remaining state-owned corporations are sold to chaebol and become privatized monopolies. State-owned communes in Western China are split up and given as private plots of land. Most government initiatives are now undertaken by private investors and other parties. Foreign tariffs are raised to 20%, save for tributary states, which pay a 5% tariff, and for states with special trading agreements specifically Britain and Tondo, trade is tariff-free. Immense commercialization continues, aided by heavy infrastructural development, urbanization, and a strong internal demand for consumer goods and luxury items.
A healthy aquaculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from Lake Baikal.

Free Hungary: The Yezeto Passes a law stating that when the king dies (which is predidcted to be next year) that He by law is to be crowned regent of Hungary and the royal family loses all claims to The throne, Parliament quickly passes this as It is filled with many Military Officers and Blind Bathory followers, thanks to this Bathory has more influence over Hungarian Politics. Bathory is Very popular among Hungarians, as he basically saved them from a Corrupt crazy and Racist Leader, Bathory attempts to Spread Anti-Monarchist Sentiment as the year goes by, though he does this very Broadly as he doesn't want the king to suspect him of Conspiracy against the crown (even though it's kinda obvious since he passes that law). The economy is back to its feet again thanks to Bathory, Bathory attempts to make a Strong alliance with Belka and Russia and maybe possibly a Triple Entent (Player Response for Belka, mod response for Russia as he has been inactive for a while). The army futhure grows in strength, reaching 400,000 this year. Hungarian nationalism grows under Bathory. Stronger ties are made with The Papal States. Bathory extends his authority to law enforcement agencies, he Further Extends government Control and Grasp on the Law Enforcement agencies, Which increases authoritarianism, Bathory's goal in this is to put a firm hold on Hungary and making sure something like the previous King doesn't happen again, and that his power is Known across the Land. Bathory slowly makes Government Criticism apart of the Law and Making it a threat to The Auhtorites such as Police men, and sense the Police departments are Monitoredanf controlled by the Government. This Pretty much makes it dangerous and illegal to criticize any part of the government. No one notices this sudden change as he did this legally, Bathory is mainly doing this to Preserve a Better hungary and to make it stable, he is doing for the better of Hungary.

  • Illinois Confederation: We start to  buy guns from the whites mainly Charleville muskets,  which we send more scouts southeast near IRL mayfield KY, with the guns we raise 400 more braves, Sliver Lynx sets up a council of 13 other chiefs as government body to help things get done faster, we keep plant corn and buckwheat, we also expand 20 px east (Hermann MO).
  • Aztatl Alteptlatskostli: A church and many other administrative buildings went up in flames in Santo Didacus. The Mēxihcah Iluitsintli blame the Federalist party for these fires and they claim the federalists did this to disurb the mēxihcah iluitsintli and their centralisation, which they openly opposed and argued against. The Aztec party votes to allow emergancy power to the party and allow it to do arrests without aproval so long if they can justify it in any matter on a legal way. One of those arrests is José María Teclo Morelos y Pavón. The president, who is thought to support the Federalists, and secretly joined them and they suspect him of even planning the fire himself and giving personal funds of 50 kilos of 99.999% gold to them to have them be able to pay the guns, ropes, gunpowder, matches, torches and many other materials they needed to get the fire and comuncations for it going. They force him to step down from his political role or be executed. He decides to step down from his presedency and as last presidential words say "Que Deus julgue sua alma"("May God judge your soul"). After which the guards warn him to shut up and be quite which he responds to with "Deus te mostrará o inferno" ("God will show you hell"). The Officer who is with the guards then decides to execute the President anyway as he sees his words as an insult to the whole nation and its party. He asks him for last words and he says "Oh, as astecas me mostram o seu poder que não poderei mais ver mais e resistir a esses animais de puro ódio" ("Oh, Aztecs show me your power which I won't be able to see anymore and resist these animals of pure hate"). After which he is hanged in his jail, to keep his body without wounds and making it look a suicide. The former president does get an open funeral with his body open in his funeral chest which is made with beautiful flowers and the flag of the former Mehican Alliance. To show that he was a great men. After the abdication of the president the Mēxihcah Iluitsintli Elect Raul Augusthino Diltwa as not president but first Emperor of their nation they now call Mehican empire. Raul Augusthino was a rather unsuspected chose since he is the adopted son of the Former Californian King and not an Aztlan noble with roots to the Mehican kings like Emperor Moctezuma I. This is done to get an Emperor who did actually fight in the Californian Army during the war of independence where he was a young teen of the age of 17 and now he is the ripe Emperial age of 27. He also decides to change his name to honnour the the First Mehican emperor of the Mehican Alliance. He Becomes Emperor Moctezuma Raul Augusthino Diltwa I but he's more commonly refered as Moctezuma Augusthin."A marinha federal" Becomes the "A marinha real" And under this new name the Navy sends a convoy of five boats to the islands they got to know as Hawaíi. There they meet to the local leaders and Administrators. (Hawaii response). These men, unknown to the situation that happened in their nation, ask the Hawaiians if they would like to discus their both states and how they should adopt republic.
  • Cologne: The people of Cologne are in shock. Archbishop-Kaiser Ludwich spent the last years of his life deeply sick and finally died in 1796, as happy and content as possible. He penned many letters in his last years, the crazy whims of his soul making their way onto paper. In amongst there, however, some scholars have found revolutionary ideas about how government should work – with an emphasis on democracy and its relationship to the Rhineland. Unfortunately he was simply too ill to put this all into action. In his last moments, he acquiesced to Lothair the Younger and expressed his support for the ideals of centralisation and democracy. However, with Ludwich’s death, Cologne no longer held the position of Kaiser. The new Archbishop, Garrick Duchene, is very young and does not want to put the lives of his people or the German people generally at risk, so he declares Cologne’s official neutrality in the matter. However, it is clear that the people of the Rhineland continue to regard Archbishop Ludwich of Cologne as the only true Kaiser thanks to his non-violent founding of the Rhineland’s key institutions. Despite Lothair’s overarching power, Archbishop Garrick continues to run the Council in Cologne itself, for all Rhineland Leaders to attend. The Council makes no orders and holds no power, but continues to meet and discuss the wider state of the Rhineland. The Judiciary in Berg continues to operate, but does not question the leadership of Lothair the Younger. Given that Lothair’s father supported and died for the cause of democracy, Archbishop Garrick is hopeful that Lothair the Younger will not interfere with these institutions. Furthermore, he hopes that the underlying operation of these institutions will preserve them under the leadership of a dictator.
    • Essen: Abbess Marie in Essen also declares full neutrality with respect to the whims of Lothair the Younger, but she does not continue to run any institutions. Instead, she and her canonesses retreat to the abbey. One young canoness, Alexandra Zimmerman - the second daughter of Elena and Aleksander Zimmerman - is on exchange from New Essen abbey to Essen abbey. Having read all of her father’s works, she is particularly incensed about this situation and busies herself to write a series of essays defending the Rhineland League constitution, highlighting its consistency with democratic ideals. She is helped by some other canonesses, including Abbess Marie herself, but the whole project is kept under wraps for the time being. Meanwhile, Aleksander Zimmerman himself is recovering from the revolutionary war in Aztlan and getting involved with the politics there. He’s interested to see what happens with the Senate, but he currently declines to involve himself clearly on either side of politics. He keeps up his letters to John Lopez, but unfortunately he doesn’t seem to be receiving any letters in return. The missions in Tondo, New Germany and New Netherlands continue.
  • Tui Tonga: After a visit in Japan that took three weeks to even get to our destination, we realised how far behind we were compared to our new friend. The king himself was so dumbfounded and so amazed by the beauty of the land. It was much colder than expected so he had to wear more suitable clothing that the royals gave to them and he felt very pleased at their kindness to an outsider like himself. Afterward, (one could say he went on a tour) he began viewing the spectacular wonders such as the amazing architecture and buildings. He also saw a display of the Japanese force and saw Japanese ships. With trade already established, he thought to himself that this was a gift from the gods and that his nation shall be blessed with bountiful riches. It was quite astounding. For the next few months, leaving the elders in charge of the Empire, Our king would explore and entertain himself with the splendid wonders of Japan before returning home to tell his story and deliver the good news. A deal was made with the apanse to share their culture with us such as clothing with robes being the favorite due to the hot climate making it the best fitting at home. Also marvelous designs such as the Emperor's palace in Japan was also shared and sent over as a special request. We also requested shoes which were quite fashonable amongst the king and his wife plus advisor. After two months into the new year, the king was home. With deliveries and trade exchanges being made with the Japanese, homes began to be revamped with 300 new homes being of Japanese style and holding up to be quite great. Our first delivery of weapons and basic tools was also brought in from Japan which were quite neat and began to be taught to the people. New farms began to use some of these tools which consist of hoes, shovels, etc. Also, some seeds were also brought in which consisted of grains and more. It was a sort of flood of foreign culture pouring down on the nation. A final design for the newest ship model for use of exploration and combat created by one of our craftsman took in some Japanese ideas from ships he had seen deliver goods. Women began using the cloth the make skirts and a variety of fashionable and more preferable attire. The Elders were skeptical about this change as they found it to be too drastic and believed we should stick to our old ways. Over a meal, the men and women discussed how should this be taken in and is it a good idea to continue. The king told them that we were "as ancient as the gods" compared to the outside realm and that we shouldn't isolate ourselves any longer and that this was a gift from above. They found it fine but still had there doubts as they saw the culture being in danger while the king saw the changes as an advancement. A new city is established to the north side of Viti Levu named Loane. this city plans to take in mostly Tongo-Japanese culture with both worlds coming together and be a thriving port city in the future. 400 homes begin to be constructed there with more on the way next year heaviy based on Japanese design off the Japanese city of Kyoto. With more bountiful pleasures arriving, we begin to pay back gifts sharing our shipping techniques and giving exotic goods in exchange as well and allowing the Japanese to come as they please. More swords begin to be made as well plus with Japanese support, we begin to create better weapons. Gold continues to rise as an exchange item for purchasing goods in many market places across the islands. A small trade post is and in OTL New Catalonia and we begn to colonize the two islands that we had claimed begin to have their first visitors and citizens. The islands ae named Twinga Levu and Goyonga with OTL New Cadelonia being named Moana after the king's wife. (Japanese Approved).
    • Uluru Dip: The Emperor himself has no time for the new visitors, but instead his Prime Minister Djalu entertains the travelers in Dandiri (OTL Brisbane), giving them many gifts and showing them the extent of the Empire. Djalu and the Emperor then reports this encounter to the British Embassy.
  • Malaya: Development continues in our Bornean territory, paving new roads in underdeveloped locations. A new university is constructed in Sabah, making it the first institution outside the Malayan Peninsula. A novelty steam engine is bought as a gift for the King, about the size of a table. The King is fascinated by this contraption, and sends envoys to inquire the nature of the mechanics that power this gift.
  • The Magadh Mahajanpada: The Anglo-Magadhi Treaty was signed this year in the month of Jyeshtha. Councilman Rewat Sachdeva signed the treaty in Hemgarh on behalf of the Council. The construction of the Kannauj fort was completed this year. The training of the 60,000 line infantrymen was completed. The Magadhi army has six line infantry regiments. Councilman and Leader of the Council, Anirrudh Chauhan passed away this year, Rewat Sachdeva was elected Leader of the Council. Leader of the Shan State Council, Suklingphaa was sworn in as a member of the Council. The AMT created a huge demand for cash crops and rice. To fulfill the demand, Magadhi firms started acquisition of lands in Kamroop and Eastern Magadh, establishing plantations for the cultivation of tea and to a small extent of coffee. Firms in Bago acquired lands for cultivation of groundnuts. Tobacco cultivation was encouraged by the Governorates of Patliputra and Ambikapur. Exports of bananas, coconuts, oilseeds and spices rose exponentially. As exports increased and demands rose, the average income also started to increase, albeit slowly. The Council designated ten cities as regional trade hubs: Hemgarh (OTL Haldia), Patliputra, Nalbari, Lucknow, Gaya, Chittagong, Pegu, Dhaka, Ambikapur and Manadalay. The British firms were allotted lands in these regional trade hubs to set up trading depots. British firms were given land on lease in Raniganj and Durgapur for the extraction of coal and iron. The first water pump (Newcomen Engine) was installed on the banks of the Ganga in Patna to aid in the supply of water. The water pump is owned and operated by a British firm. The finery forge, smeltmill and the slitting mill are incorporated by the Magadhi ironworks industries. The troops in Dravidia march on with the forces of Emperor Ziyad. The Magadhi generals are impressed by the Hussar and Grenadier regiments of the states of Western India after having fought side by side with them.
(Solace RESPONSE).
    • Jaffarid Diplomacy: Sultan Asim II orders the sending of weaponry, military technology, and also sends a few high ranking military advisers to help Vakhtang in his revolution.
  • Swahili: We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The Gospel Division receives a medal for holding off the Fundamentalist rear guard assault in the battle of Usambara. As a result, the Christian Community is allowed to construct churches. The 150,000 strong Royalist army marche into Fundamentalits heartlands. Despite heavily outnumbered, Zakia managed to strike out and destroy several isolated army corps, scout units and vanguard, totalling around 20,000 Royalist casualties to his 4000. However, his efforts could not stop the Royalist advance and Mogadishu falls in September, surrounded by the Army of Mombasa and . He escapes into the Bale mountain foothills with 30,000 of his remaining troops and the support of the Oromo tribes. In Mogadishu and other parts of Fundamentalist Swahili, tens of thousands of people are executed on accounts of treason. The Swahili civil war is all but over.
  • Brésil: After twelve years after independence, Emperor Nicolas finally orders most of the Grande Armée conscripts to go back to reserves. Still there is a large military presence in the capital, major trade ports, and loyalist communities. Loyalist continue to be tried treason. After many controversial loyalist cases throughout the twelve years of independence, the new Grand Deputy Jean-Pascal Nicollier through the Grand Assembly authorizes the official creation of the Grande Parlement, the highest court in the nation. The court will officially have eleven members, with one of them being the Grande Justice. Each Justice has a ten year mandate, and a new one is appointed every year so their mandates don’t all expire at once. Therefore, Nicollier declares the court will not be active until the year 1808. The justices are selected through a process where the Emperor will select a justice and the year after that the Assembly selects one. With the Coinage Act of 1798, the government declares two mints, one in Saint Pierre and a new one Villellemande. The act officially decimalised the currency as well as many other weights and measures in Brésil.
Completion of the first cast iron aqueducts, on the English canals. James Sadler introduces the table engine at the Portsmouth Block Mills in England. Iron, cotton and other goods are all produced in new mills, factories and smelting plants. England has 7.9 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 5.5 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. Construction work on star forts continues in India in addition to the training and expansion of company run forces. 30,000 Sepoys are deployed in eastern Delhi while the fortress's continue to be worked on and more Sepoy are trained as soldiers perfecting the company army. The force with Ziyad contuines fighting alongside him.
The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westward in search of water. The three Kingdom's still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold. The economies of the Kingdom rely on a series of different things with Savannah exporting a lot of fruit, sugar and cotton while Iroquois grow tobacco, cotton and large herds while Avalon still does larger amounts of fishing as well as staple crops. The population of Avalon is 0.8 million, Iroquois has two million and Savannah has 1.8 million.
  • Belkan Federation: Under the pretense that further fighting with Arabia will lead to a massive war Belka offers Arabia a ceasefire and withdraws its blockade from Arabia in good faith. Besides this, the movement in Egypt changes as 100,000 troops finally fully supplied and equipped following years of infrastructure buildup in Damietta and the surrounding region, push on Alexandria isolating the 50,000 strong Egyptian army (scraw gave me this number). With 50,000 troops left they keep the fortifications of Damietta manned heavily fully intent on holding the port. The Vozdh goes as far as to appoint a governor for the city and areas in Egypt controlled by the country. The Belkan diplomatic envoys approach Britain requesting this. Belka will abandon plans for Arabia if claims to Egypt are recognized and backed up. The Belkan home armies begin to mobilize more obviously as well as the potential for more general war in Europe spikes. This, however, does nothing more than fuel the war making and textile producing industries with large amounts of uniforms becoming one of the most notable productions. The Navy also begins reinforcing Tunis with nearly 40 ships from the navy at any given moment operating in Tunis. The Venetians are finally compensated for their ships being used as supply and logsitical support as they begin to crank up dozens of supply ships ready to ferry and supply the troops anywhere they are needed. At home the population continues to grow as it reaches 19.8 million.
    • British Dip: The British task force of ships and 15,000 British troops are re-directed to Egypt to support Belka's claim to Egypt as they have agreed to back off Arabia.
    • Bread withdraws.
    • Hungarian Diplomacy: We Offer Belka to be apart of a possible Triple Entent between: Hungary,Belka,And Russia

1799Edit

Muhammad Ali is a great general now. Deal with it.

After five years of fighting, Poland achieves independence under the leadership of General Andrzej Borusewicz. Russia is forced to the table, as the last five years have been terrible for them. The lack of Russia posting at all since this revolution began means that it is done.

Vozdh Savinkov, or whoever is the current Vozdh, of Russia dies. Konstantin, grandson of the last Tsar of Russia, moves to reclaim the throne as was promised long ago by Vozdh Savinkov in 1769 exactly 30 years ago to Konstantin's father Konstantin. He has widespread support as this arrangement was understood to be the plan for decades.

In the Rhineland, Lothair the Younger is assassinated. His revolutionaries, called the Rhenish Brothers for the Advancement of Democracy, seize control and prevent the rise of a new chancellor by proclaiming the government of the Revolutionary Democratic Council, a seven member council.

Meanwhile, Napoleon Bonaparte departed Egypt after securing its independence from Ethiopia and arrives home after his brother has been assassinated. He is welcomed home as a hero and celebrity but is not welcomed in government and is denied a military position. Spurned by the Council, he returns home to the family estate, where he is the chief heir of his family wealth as the oldest surviving son of Lothair the Elder. He spends his time at home brooding and writing a revolutionary pamphlet called The Third Revolution, citing Spain and Egypt as the first two revolutions and declaring the revolution of the brotherhood to be insignificant and lacking in true revolutionary quality. His writings interest many people who believe that the council have not provided significant improvement over the pre-Lothairian era. Meanwhile, he invites some of his officers from Spain to the Rhineland. Additionally, Napoleon is a great general.

In Iberia, the first elections are held by order of the Bread Consul. His moderate partisans win the election over the Cuelhan hardliners and traditionalist royalists.

Osman Osman, Consul of Rum, announces that ethnic Greeks in Rum will be deported. He asks Belka and Pontus to accept these peoples.

  • Illinois Confederation: We start to build canoes to trade up and down the Mississippi, we raise 400 more warriors, we keep planting corn and buckwheat, we start to set up scout/trading post with the most eastern one in IRL Bowling Green KY, expand 30 px east to IRL St. Louis MO which we set up a trading post/village which we name Inoka, we send a great scout by the name Green Sparrow to ride east as far as he can and see what he finds, we also send his brother, Brush Fire as far southwest he can go (Mod Response needed).
  • Empire of Dravidia (Ziyad): The Battle of Srirangapatna continued on as Shiraz's forces remained steadfast, refusing to give up an inch of their territory. This ferocity on part of Shiraz's forces were largely owed to his Rais, Gangadhar Rao, a distant relative of the Rao Maharaja's. Gangadhar was unlike any other soldier that Ziyad had seen before and as such, his bravery truly impressed the Emperor; imprinting a powerful image in his mind. After all, in the clash between the vanguards, Gangadhar had slew Ziyad's Rais. Nevertheless, despite these hardships, Ziyad did not lose heart either as the battle was slowly and gradually shifting in his favour. Simultaneously as this happened, Warren Hastings too was successfully pushing into Masulipatnam. Unfortunately for them, the near lack of defense at Hyderabad and the easy availability of this knowledge allowed Idris Shah, Ziyad's Admiral to dock at Kalipur and march across the Deccan to capture Hyderabad with just 500 men. That was all it took for Ziyad's crown jewel to fall and with Idris's treachery soon becoming common knowledge, it became obvious that there was now a new player in the war.
  • Free Hungary: This year, the king of Hungary, Istvan 1st of Debrecen, dies and a massive funeral held in his honor, Bathory attends and is sad about his recent death, but is optimistic about the road ahead, cause as soon as the Funeral Ends, he is crowned Regent of Hungary, and he kicks the royal family out of the palace, he allows them to stay but cannot be involved in ANY political activities, and must all agree to renounce their royalty, they do this under pressure of the authorities, and Bathory soon Adds "Protector and Guide of Hungaria" to his titles and Soon A regency council is held as is royal tradition, at this Regency council, Bathory is given Full Powers, and The two Positions, Regent and Yezeto, are combined and Bathory becomes Supreme Regent. A military parade is held in his honour, and to wish him good luck at the Second Hungarian Congress (See http://althistory.wikia.com/wiki/2nd_Hungarian_Congress_(Principia_Moderni_IV_Map_Game) for the results) as he requested another one to be held. It is unknown what the future for Hungary Will be, but it is safe to say that the days of monarchy are over in Hungary. Delegations are sent to The Nations Belka and Russia and request a "Triple Entent" between them Belka response and Mod response for Russia. Hungarians and the government prepare for the New Century coming up.

VIVA BATHORY!!

  • The Great Sultanate: The Khanate begins to work on modernizing the state as the Khan begins to trade with traders from Persia and Afghanistan. The religion of the Khannate goes under a new revolution as Islam makes a small kickback mostly around Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan region as more and more trade is conducted with Persia and Arabia. The current religious make up stands at Christian 30%, Zoroastrianism 10% and Islam 50%. The Great Khan begins to open up schools in major cities working on a new language named "Khani" which looks like Arabic but is just a knock off. The Great Khan also works on uniting all ethnic groups by spreading the idea mostly to young children that they are not Turkmen, Kaszka or any ethnic group but Khanmen united in helping each other. Most people ignore the idea, though. Tribes in the Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan under the rule of an imam named Amer Abdullah. Amer Abdullah begins operations of uniting other tribes into his rule. This causes the Great Khan to work on countering his influence, this goes to bust when a short but quick civil war happens in the Khannate replacing the monarchy rule of certain tribes to a new monarchy, after Amer Abdullah won at the battle of the long river and the battle of the horse. Amer counties the plan of the past monarchy but allows the idea of an elected monarchy to be made. The new state is renamed to the The Great Sultanate.
  • Mehican Empire: Settlers financed by the new empire close the gap between the former Patwin tribe and the new coastal area. This is done to make this region easier to suply and to gain more lands for Farming and letting animals graze. Forts and suply stations are also Build on the Border of the Puebloans and the Comanches. Most of these buildings are just towers with a stone base and a wooden top and hay roof because they mostly meant to just get food and military uniforms and materials while guns and other weapons are stored in dugouts in the ground near these towers. The unclaimed and unused lands between the United Kingdom Burgondy and our own nation is also settled with Tejans but who they do not join the state of Tejas but form their own territory which they simply call Novo Tejas, meaning they just create this territory as a part new entity from Tejas.
  • The Magadh Mahajanpada: The marketed surplus of rice starts to increase, leading to higher exports. Rice farmers are able to earn more. Tea, Groundnut and Tobacco cultivation expand in Western Magadh, Eastern Magadh, Burma and Kamroop. Wages of labourers employed in the cultivation of bananas, coconuts, oilseeds and spices steadily increases. As a result, consumption increases and brings much needed relief to the textile sector. Mining or iron ore near Hemgarh and near Raniganj (Asansol) starts. Five engines are currently being used in Patliputra and an additional two in Hemgarh for a water supply. The irrigation projects started in 1788 are expected to be completed next year and will bring about a huge increase in the production of rice, cotton and jute. New irrigation projects on the Salween river are planned with hired British engineers who propose the use of the Newcomen engines as water pumps. Local coal pits are heavily exploited. As the textile sector breathes relief, the national bank starts investing in the sector, opening up more karkhanas to cater to growing demand. These factories are opened up in the regional trade hubs. The concept of the newspaper is introduced and the first newspaper Dainik Jagran starts circulation in Patliputra. The regional daily is printed in the Magadhi language and was started by a businessman from Gaya. Commercialization increases especially in the cultivation of tea as Magadhi firms compete with each other for higher profits, bringing in more land under cultivation and new concepts. These firms have established large plantations in Kamroop. The Magadhi Army continues to fight in Dravidia. A small standing army of 40,000 trained troops (30,000 line infantry) is maintained. The council passes a decree making the Navy independent. The Navy is rather small at a mere 90 ships.
  • Papal States: Following the municipal reforms a few years ago, the Parlamento has become a much more representative body. Pope Henry, skittish about democratic ideas given the violent 'democratic' rebellions around Europe, ensures there is a significant military presence at municipal representative elections. Missions continue, especially in Uluru, Zulu, and Wetsern Arcadia.
  • Swahili: We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombasa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The war continues between Zakia's highland raids and Royalist patrols. The Mujarteen kingdoms are suppressed, destroyed or displaced as punishment for their treachery.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continue development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. The economy is slowly integrated into that of Royalist Swahili following the facilitation of trade through roads and the influence of Swahili merchants.

  • Jaffarid Sultanate: Sultan Asim II orders the sending of weaponry, military technology, and also sends a few high ranking military advisers into Pontus as a means of fueling the rebellion. The Great Sultanate becomes widely popular in Persia. Sultan Asim II leaves his post as Sultan to become the General of the Army, allowing for his son-in-law Abdul Hamid Kashani to become the official Sultan of Arabia. Abdul Hamid begins his reign by establishing a "new order" within the laws that have been previously created. Known as the Freedoms of Man (بقثثيخةس خب ةشى), the document that was passed by the House of Jaffar, allows for Freedom of speech and the freedom of individualism, all of which are not permitted to be infringed upon by another individual. The document would barely end up passing the House of Jaffar, but would general a new era of peace and general order within the Near East and Persia, causing massive applaud for Abdul Hamid and his supporters. Neoclassicism becomes a staple of culture, with many drawing inspiration from the Abbasid Caliphate. Literature explodes, with mythical and fictitious novels being created and published by numerous publishing companies, of which had been created following the movement of money into more local, small businesses. Music that had been introduced into Circassia and Ganja from Russia very long ago has finally made its way into Damascus and Arabia itself, beginning another musical revolution, with popular music speaking about the "common man of Arabia", praising Allah, and sadness. The current population is 47.1 million. Sultan Abdul Hamid officially does not recognize Belka's claims on Alexandria and Dementia, and more troops are sent into Egypt to re-capture the cities themselves. Expecting probable war from Great Britain, fortresses and military bases and camps are created along the coast of Aden, Asir, Oman, Qatar, and the Zakariyya Emirate, as a means of an awaiting invasion from England. The official incorporation and annexation of the Sublime Sultanate of Persia begins.
    • Free Hungarian Response: We Officially recognize Egypt as In the Sphere of influence of Belka, We Publicly support the Belkans and their campaign in Egypt, we ask Arabia to stop the hostilities against Belka as they (Belka) have stopped invading Jaffari.
    • Jaffarid Diplomacy: Nobody cares about what Hungary thinks.
    • Hungarian Dip. We note that you would indeed care if our response was pro-Jaffari, The Hungarian diplomat leaves Jaffari.
    • God: No one cares what Hungary thinks.
  • Brésil: With capital from the excise tax and decrease in the upkeep cost of the military, Emperor Nicolas begins putting funds into the national navy and keeping up-to-date weapons for the army. With permission from the Emperor, Grand Deputy Nicollier commissions a new flag for Brésil with a more simplified and unified design to better represent the unitary state. To ensure the Brésilian citizens stay united, Nicollier also commissions a national anthem by a relatively new Brésilian composer. The Emperor orders Brésilians to start to colonize west again, and uses an incentive that allows settlers to claim large tracts of land for themselves and their family. Even though there were hidden rules that parties were not allowed in government, loose parties have slowly started to form between individuals in the Grand Assembly.
  • Cologne: Archbishop Garrick’s response to the “Democratic” revolution is very similar to his response to Lothair the Younger. Cologne and Essen declare their neutrality but they continue to run the original Rhineland League institutions quietly, for the purposes of preservation, and they do not interfere in the running of the country. Garrick also writes to the Pope in secret, expressing his concern about the so-called “Democratic” forces in his country, along with the sudden appearance of Spanish officers. He asks Pope Henry (in secret) to write a short document confirming the original Kaiser’s legitimacy among all Catholic peoples. Garrick does not plan to use it or release it until the German peoples’ safety can be guaranteed. (Papal States response, please).
    • Essen: In Essen Abbey, Alexandra Zimmerman continues to write her series of essays, which she titles The Rhineland Papers, with other canonesses and scholars from the Universities of Essen and Cologne. These papers highlight the legitimacy of the Rhineland League constitution at its heart, despite the practical influence of warring dictators and factions. They include the five papers written by Kaiser-Archbishop Ludwich, and twenty-nine written by Abbess Marie. By the end of the year, Alexandra Zimmerman has written the other fifty-one, because she writes like she’s running out of time. Meanwhile, her father Aleksander Zimmerman is dismayed by the lack of democracy in Aztlan, but he fears for his life and thinks that perhaps the government may have gone far beyond his repair – and he blames himself, because he spent so many of these years obsessed with writing to Jean Lopez. This year, he travels to Essen to seek sanctuary and to assist his daughter with moral support; however, he remains distracted by the fact that Jean Lopez still has not replied to his letters.
  • China: The Qianlong Emperor dies, with a highly grandiose funeral being held in Hanseong to mourn his passing. The Jiaqing Emperor begins a purge through the imperial court and the royalty, persecuting corrupt officials such as Heshen, as well as members of the royalty opposed to his assumption of the throne. Imperial examination is split into three specialized curricula; one for higher military officials (assessing the handling of weaponry and knowledge of military tactics), one for scholar-officials specializing in science (assessing knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, algebra, and calculus), and for civil servants (assessing knowledge of the principles of Confucian orthodoxy). As the White Lotus Revolt ramps up in Sichuan, the Jiaqing Emperor launches an edict to exterminate all Tibetan hill peoples and quell participating Han Chinese peasants. Ming royalist sentiment is also crushed, with propaganda depicting the House of Zhu as anti-Confucian Muslim sympathizers, thus committing betrayal against China. Meanwhile, the weaker Miao rebellion is swiftly crushed, with a reservation system being implemented, with most Miao being relocated en masse to said reservations and are forcibly sinicized. The Hui begin exploiting the current state of civil unrest by rebelling in the provinces in which they form a large minority or plurality in, seeking greater autonomy as an autonomous province or a protectorate. In response to the preoccupation of the Green Han Standard army in Sichuan, Korean bannermen led under General Piteo are sent to northwestern China to crush the Hui.
  • Hawaii: Colonization and expansion continues. A trade agreement is offered to Tuʻi Tonga Empire, the same as the one that previously existed under the previous monarch. Trade continues with southeast Asia and across the Pacific. The program to expand the navy continues, with brigs being laid down in Honolulu, and other major port cities.
  • Tui Tonga: As new goods and riches flow in, our wealth grows. Textbooks that teach Japanese writing and Language are brought in and are taught to people in education huts. Palm Slab writings begin to be made using graphite imported from Japan replacing tablet carvings. By the time the year ends, 10% of the nation's population begins speaking broken Japanese. This also includes the King and the elders in order to communicate better with their new friends to the west. With news from the Uluru, we try negotiating with them more. Using Japanese style of training for military, the warriors are revamped into much more educated and modern in their ways of fighting with a mix of guerrilla warfare and precision in combat. Special clothing also begins being made by women in a fort in the mountains where the troops are placed for new training techniques and "professionalism" as one of the Japanese Officials called it. The island of Moana is explored further and we encounter people fishing on the island's eastern coast while doing exploration. Ten men decide to go into the forest and spy on the unknown people living on the island. It turns out there were natives. With this news, we begin sending over 13 of our newest warships carrying 900 men. They are taken into the jungle and are encountered by a surprise attack leading to the death of one. This ensures into a battle and by the end of it all, five are killed by the unknown tribal people while 200 of them were killed and wiped out from their forces. The king seeks for these men to be saved while their bodies are buried back in their homelands from across the empire. The mystery killers seem to not be found as of yet but sightings of more of these odd natives grow more as the territory of Moana is expanded more inward with 300 Tongans living on the island now. With trade becoming more and more prevalent as well, our Education System sees a makeover with each and every educational hut being turned into a new style of Tongo-Japanese structural designs with the schools being turned into facilities much much larger than the hut system at its height using palm logs and clay tiles plus Japanese materials, these were considered state of the art and quite and advancement to be praised by the elders. Hundreds of youth begin to also be taught Japanese and learn how to read and write in our language and in Japanese to create a bilingual society. Our first translator's also begun working on teaching children. Six universities are also built across the Empire with hundreds of students coming from all over the nation to attend to be educated for Atmospheric and Astrological Studies. This also includes basic to advanced mathematics. Other students and youth decide to go to Japan to get a better education as well to come back later. With further advancements due to Japanese interactions, a union of the sorts between us (such as Japanese Protectorate) begins to become more of a possibility. With our military continuing to develop, our professionalism grows with 8000 troops becoming professionally trained by a Japanese Lieutenant for their last years of training. With spears being driven into the pass and swords and blades plus other weapons becoming more of a common use, something that the king had noted during his visit to Japan was weapons that propel a ball at extraordinary speeds (guns). He becomes very interested in this and requests a shipment of these types of weapons and a teacher accompanied by a translator to explain what these things are, their purpose, and how to use them. A new system of government lies in the works. Our latest ship design created by a craftsman and praised by the king becomes more mass produced pushing our old naval ships as secondary ones made for long range quick transport with the new ones able to carry 400 men at a time which is four times greater than the previous ships. 80 begin to be constructed. these ships also include some Japanese characteristics. This man becomes one of the most respected naval command officials but decides to go to Japan to continue his study of Naval Ships and Naval studies in general. We see about 40 visitors from Japan who begin to teach people of the works of a prophet who was also the son of a God. This makes some feel a bit skeptical but some decide to believe in the religion and actually convert to what they call Catholicism. 400 convert but add their own two cents into it all and try to piece together the relation of Tongan mythology and Catholicism with only 20 fully believing it and have not hesitated to see the new religion as wrong but still view the king as from heavenly descent. Road systems become more and more complex with dirt roads become the basic roads of travel and stone roads could be found in heavily urban regions. As our nation begins to exponentially grow in modernization, the question of re-establishing the title of a true Empire begins to re-arise.
