1690's(937+) the Islannic Pogurez reunite, creating the Neo-Pogurez Cilaf
With Rome stabilised, it was now intent on further reclamation.
Amassing tens of thousands of legionaries, the Senate and Alius Dossenius Huelastus sent them down the Mare Erythraeum. Here the armies of a more Republican Rome met the rebellious ‘nation states’ which still sported an antiquated and deficient government style almost 100 years behind the times. In the states’ early days, Rome had agreed to their independence and had opened diplomatic and trade agreements. The complete lack of use of Nubia’s potential power and its constant internal conflicts between the native and naturalized populations by itself almost cried for it to be brought back to the empire. Arabia Felix was the most civilized as a greater majority of its people were of Roman descent.
Huelastus was granted a 9 year extension to fulfill the campaign.
'1700's(947+) This whole century saw the emergence of rudimentary Lotos Mathematica in Aegyptus, Italia, and Greece. It is the study of recursive geometric forms. It would not be until the 1900's that this field would mature.
During this century it was noted that the Scanian iron sites were beginning to experience diminishing returns; another reason to force the empire's expansion.
Also, ADA psychologists began discovering that the functions of the brain were more plastic than static. Within 20 years there would be comprehensive sensory substitution and rehabilitation programmes available for the rich. In 1703(950) Sinican designs of a niter powered rocket arise, Rome sees their value mostly as flares and signals but perhaps some sort of medium ranged weapon. It will take a while to develop. Also, the Senate adds the letter thorn Þ, þ to the alphabet because of the increasing popularity yet cumbersomeness of the combined ‘T and H’ sound (though you're not going to see any changes). For some reason theta Θ, θ wasn't catching on with the Latin populace.
By 1705(952) all of lost Nubia, Habasiah and Arabia Felix were recovered, in fact, Habasiah and Arabia Felix were now bigger than before from expansions made by their independent ‘Princeps’. The Kushite Legion is reinstated, but this is no time for expansion in the Sahara, Roma has bigger olives to crush.
Meanwhile, Rome was rebuilding its southernmost provinces, once Nubia was repaired enough to support itself it became equal to the other reclaimed provinces, but it would probably not become so rich as it did in its prime. The Rebels had renamed Punicevs Constantinopolis (the capital) Navales Soudanus in their corrupted Latin. The capital name was reverted. After consolidating Roman rule, the loot and new slaves helped to further normalize real estate values and thereby strengthened the economy. A blockade against the Buwayhid Confederation and the Mossalnan Cilaf was emplaced at the end of the African campaign in 1710(957) while legions were shifted and reorganized for the forthcoming Asian campaign. This started in late 1711(958) and by now, Roman scholars had developed the rocket for use as infantry support. The waxed wooden bodies were capped with a copper cone. Before, niter powder was only good for the lumbering canna of sieges and Quadreimes. The Buwayhid Confederation was quickly dealt with but the Mossalnan State would prove more difficult, they had not neglected the old Imperial Vaposcurr rails or bombus alesalitis. They even had rockets in sparse use. When the Buwayhid Confederation was conquered in late 1712(959), the Visigoth and Bosporus armies had organized and entered Armenia; however, the Praetorius Procuris had had their attention on their movements for some time, Rome had not known about the agreement but was suspicious all the same. The armies were ambushed until the survivors retreated, their combined force of 12 000 was mown down by 3 centuries. As it turned out, the Cilaf had become quite rich in its independence. At its capitulation in 1718(965) the wealth was redistributed, more slaves, etc. The Parthian provinces were reinstated as well as the addition of Sacania in the southwest on the coast.
This was actually kind of a problem, the former outer provinces were not slaughtered so they were not taught to obey, schools to follow and the Praetorivs Procuris would help very much but these disgruntled Arabs had been without Roman rule for at least 117 years if they had been ruled by Rome at all. No one was still alive to remember how great Rome was, and Islan provided a great deal of friction with Rome for centuries. Unfortunately, the iron deposits in Scandia were becoming increasingly difficult to find after 800 years of mining. While the Legions in restored Parthia secured their position and considered continuing into Bactria, a Legion and a half were extracted and added to several auxilia battalions in Scandia to begin expanding north. This wasn’t a Hadrian-scale plan as it was a smaller area to conquer. The Vikingi in the Mare Suevicum were easily defeated and their fleets seized, but an unforeseen consequence was suffered when Vikingi in much larger fleets invaded Britannia and Saxonum. They secured numerous footholds on the coasts, but the governor of Britannia Sup. came up with the ingenious idea of having Northern Gaul, Belgica, Saxonum, and Britannia build several groups of small and fast vessels painted sea-green. The generals went through with the idea, and with the camouflaged ships and several land engagements the Vikingi were routed back to their ships, after which they sailed northwest and were forgotten about. Soon these camouflaged ships fell into disuse and were dismantled or scuttled, and the idea of a camouflaged fleet would not be returned to for fifty years.
Rome took a breather to get ready for a drive into Bactria, and to reclaim Mazun. Plans for Hibernia, Bosporus and the Caucus were already being made. The Caesar at the time was Appius Gabinius, now seven years into his administration.
