1680[]

Mzerka's expanding so quickly, it will need an algo this time.

Tazdea is fascinated with Iberia's ability to write stuff, so he starts creating symbols for the Dene syllables in order to independently create an alphabet.

A fire in Phnom Penh is blamed on Makanis by the radical Buddhists of Cambodia, who see the God King in Laos as a threat to their way of life.

The war in the Anangu states settles down, and the resulting political situation puts all the states within OTL South Australia in a dynastic union. The prince of the Ngerrindjeri bakanate, named Djalu, is groomed for his new power while being betroathed to the princess of Nukunu.

Aryavarta erupts into civil war due to the radical influences of Chandra Bose and his followers, particularly among the supporters of Shaivism and Vaishnavism. To the end of the year, many lines are drawn on the nation over ethnic and cultural differences.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Economy and military improve. The Jaffarid Sultanate work to advance the economy and modernize the military, keeping it up to the level of Europe. After finishing the Conference of Beyrut, and selling off the various colonies of the nation, the Caliphate turns its attention inward to clean out the corruption and embezzlement within the government. Caliph Qasim is dead, but a much younger and inexperienced Caliph is put on the throne under the influence of the Jaffarids. Support is given towards Morocco's further power and autonomy, and support is also given to Zayiyr's concept of a Muslim empire in Africa. A great storehouse in Damascus is used to temporarily keep the thousands and thousands of pounds of stuff collected from Beyrut, which ultimately was sold off for several billion Filoos, not counting the works the Caliph decided to keep for his personal use. The Ulema sends agents disguised as Turkish slaves to monitor the situation in Belka, before deciding whether to get involved in the situation. In the Levant, the Barbary Pirates make their last stand at the Sidon Sea Castle where Pope Cornelius is kept prisoner. The agents of the Ulema, <led by Al-Ramee and Al-Ankabut, arrive at the castle almost simultaneous to the Saxons, with strict orders that if the Pope is close to escaping, he should be assassinated. The members of the Avengers do their best to stave off the Saxon attackers for quite some time, utilizing every skill and trick of the castle to head off a few hundred. Ultimately, Ankabut's position was overrun by the Christian forces, so to escape she lept out the window straight to the water below. Meanwhile, those keeping watch over the pope were overwhelmed by Italian forces who breached the defenses by a secret entrance. Seeing the Pope escaping, Al-Ramee's arrow was poised to do the deed, but his conscience ultimately stayed his hand. After the remaining forces escaped the battle when the Christians with the Pope departed, Al-Ramee began to mourn his secret lover Al-Ankabut. Just at that moment, she had emerged unscathed from the waters she plundged into, and they were reunited. Meanwhile, Pope Gabriel VII expressed his disappointment, being that he wished to have met the Roman Pope while he was staying in the Middle East. Sultan Umar Jafar dies.
  • Biarchy of Crete | Republic of Crete: Last year (1679), talks of replacing the Biarchy were stirred up, and now, in the Year 1680, we officially replace the Biarchy with a Federal Republic, ending the debate between government officials. However, The Cretan people continue to bicker about the government, with some saying their needs are not met. Meanwhile, a mysterious explosion occurs in Heraklion. Agriculture continues to evolve on our small island. Fishing emerges as a great contributor to our economy, and we will continue to promote the business. A strange way of writing words, apparently called Futhork, is introduced to the island. The people become very interested in this system, wondering why it is so strange compared to the way the Cretans Write. Work In Progress...
  • Lan Xang: The God King presents evidence against the radical Buddhist's slander of his faith. He shows that most Cambodian Makanists live in the North, and very few live in Phnom Penh, so the likely hood of it being a Makanist plot is highly unlikely. He further says that the punishing with fire in Makanism is prohibited, only God is allowed to punish with fire, or if you are in a field/siege battle, which wasn't the case. He accuses the radical Buddhists of starting the fire to start sectarian tensions and turn Makanist against Buddhist against Christian, saying "they will not divide us." The God King promises to only be a nominally King of Cambodia, and plans to allow it to stay Buddhist. The God King also encourages the Makanists not to attack the radical Buddhists, but to invite them for a "cup of tea." He however will not allow Makanists to be attacked once they enter the dynastic union. The God King offers to help Cambodia create a police force to stop this pointless sectarian violence. [PLAYER RESPONSE]. The God King takes the radical threat very seriously, but as Makanism is a religion of reason and peace, he wants to resolve the matter peacefully. This would include possibly canceling the dynasty union plan if the Cambodian population demands it.
    • Khmer Dip: We accept the offer of a joint police force, as the radical Buddhists are getting too powerful and violent, and may consider usurping the Khmer throne and persecuting innocent people.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:Amadeus Diltwa Gets a science advisor that will help the modernation of the nation. (BTW, can someone help with the algo I am shitty at it).Diltwa also boosts the navy and we get our first European-like boat. We also ask the Vatican if I can get European cloth makers and labourers to help populate my country. We also convert many chipmunkish buildings to Christians churches. We get an official flag with brown on the upper part and the under part with in between a red stripe with a chipmunk in it. Amadeus Diltwa advises farmers to use corn to let the population grow. He also begins to teach most uper class portguese. He also asks farmers to get big corn and elk farms outside the kingdom to get it be annexed by us. We also Attack the tribes for the glory of God.
  • Malaya: Discrimination against Makanists by radicals is more common in the northern regions. All extremists are arrested and sent to a deradicalisation center in Penang. The heir to the nation, Prince Manjalara is born. Kudat develops rapidly, with trade ships already coming in from the mainland. It will take some time for urbanisation to reach the stretch of coast between Kudat and Karambunai. The University of Malaya begins admitting students, as well as building a reputation for itself so people from all over Asia can come over to study. The discovery made by a doctor last year is analysed, and dissection is authorised by the government to study this "Wellness System" within the body. It is theorised it plays a part in movement and sensitivity. Several books on calculus and algebra are brought in from the Arab world, and taught in the University. An explosive device is created in the metalworking sector of Pahang, after gunpowder is stuffed into a can made from tin. The metal is weak enough to explode when the explosive is activated, but strong enough to hold its contents. It will be used in the Royal Navy once it is safer to use, as the metalworking shop it was created in exploded. An alchemist discovers how to create solidified milk and thickened milk. He calls them cheese and yoghurt, before they go sour in the warm climate. After tasting them while still fresh, he discovers how delicious they are and begins experimenting to find a way to keep them cold.
  • Electorate of Saxony: Now with Meissen suppressed the atttetion of Saxony's Economic, Military, and Political Might is turned towards East Frisia a potential port for Saxony which will allow for increased trade. They call upon the Scandinavian Empire to help them by pressuring East Frisia into Vassal ship.
  • Karnad: The two year conference of literary scholars ends with the creation of a new script and a new language, henceforth known as Dakshini (Southern). The Dakshini language and script is adopted officially. The new language is widely implemented and is very easy as it is very similar to all the other languages of Karnad. Renovation of the fortresses on the Western and Eastern coast is initiated.
  • Kingdoms of Burgundy, Prussia, and Bohemia: With the passing of the Hofgericht Reform, Emperor William begins arranging for the establishment of an Imperial Court. He decides to make a three-man council which will work the court full-time. Ideally, he hopes to have the court consist of one lawman from Prussia or Burgundy, one from Austria, and one from Cologne. An envoy is sent to Cologne, asking permission for the new court to be based in Cologne, as well as nominate a lawman for the court, for whom Cologne will be responsible for naming a replacement in the event of his death or retirement (Nonsensicaljourney pls respond). Another envoy is sent to Austria, asking them, as the other great power in the HRE, to nominate a lawman of their choice to man the court, for whom they will be responsible for replacing in the event of his death or retirement (mod response pls). (More will come)
    • Austria names Adolf Hitler, named for the more famous Hitler. -scraw
  • Aryavarta: Many are furious over the council for letting this situation get out of hand. Vaishnav members of the council and a council of Vaishnav Scholas and Gabbar Singh suggest that the only way to defeat Chandrah Bose is to defeat him in a grand debate, and prove to his followers that the end of the Kali Yuga is not going to be so quick and de-radicalize his followers. Gabbar Singh leads a band of 50,000 irregulars who had volunteered from the major Vaishnav centres of Aryavarta to de-radicalize and reeducate their brothers. Bose's forces have reached Ujjain and Ambikapur. A planned attack by Bose's elite on Ujjain fails after they  unsucessfully try to breach the west wall of the fortified city but their attack falters after they are atacked by the guards patrolling underground. After the attack is discovered, great bombards in the fort bombard the formation of 5000 troops in the scrublands. A similar attack on Ambikapur is discovered and a fierce night battle takes place in the scrublands outside the Ambikapur fort leading to the area around it being set ablaze. With Ambikapur and Ujjain secure, Gabbar SIngh leads attacks against small fortresses of Bose's forces in the western flanks.
  • Tsardom of Belka: The Succession war continues in earnest as the two sides once again meet in open battle this time outside of Vidin with both armies back at full strength. While the first part of the battle goes badly for General Kamarov, a strategic retreat and a feint across the river catch Usurper Johanns forces off guard allowing a trap to be sprung allowing the now recovered Belkan Loyalists to kill or capture nearly 15,000 of the Rebel troops forcing them back. However while this is going on and the battle is joined a mercenary force of 20,000 headed by 5000 professional troops from Johann make a beeline for Vasiligrad and besiege the city. However just to the South the Tsar himself commands an army of nearly 15,000 Professional troops from the Aegean shield Garrisons which given their propensity for Shock warfare challenge the larger force outside the Gates of Vasiligrad. Tsar Petar knows that whithout a victory this Battle could see the loss of the capital. Tsar Petar knowing the high discipline of these troops refuses to engage the Usurpers forces until he is right on top of them opening up three volleys staggered behind one another from barely a short throwing distance from the Usurpers forces. The inability of Johann's forces to break the discipline of the hardened Aegean garrison forces disheartens the forces and the subsequent wreaking of havoc caused by the close quarters oriented forces leaves the army attempting to take Vasiligrad nearly cut in half but at the cost of nearly 75% casualties for the Tsars forces as well. Reports of colonels and other officers fighting in the wildernesses of Belka and on other border frontiers trickle back to both sides with minor gains and losses on both sides. The only notable gain is by a now slowly becoming notorious general on Johanns side known as "The Reaper" his name coming from a refusal to take prisoners. His march of nearly 20,000 Professional soldiers is considered unstoppable as he bring 20,000 more general forces to bear to bottle up the remaining garrison forces in Belgrad taking his main army towards Sarajevo. However the Garrison of Sarajevo knowing in advance is able to marshall together a militia forces backed by about 2000 Bosnian and Croatian provincial veterans from the Italian league war which co-ordinate the building of Defensive fortifications against the oncoming forces of The Reaper. The 10,000 strong force hopes to hold out long enough for reinforcements currently under training in Croatia to come to bear. With almost 20,000 Professional troops almost ready in the fields near Zagreb and the Strategic points secured by garrisons and the Strategic fortress at Trieste the force is ready to be brough to bear. Johann on the other hand looks to use the religiously zealous in his territories hoping to use them as a human wave to plain and simple overrun Tsar Petar and his forces which have given him a much harder time than he intended. Interestingly enough Johann begins losing contact with various farms almost all of them slave plantation based farms in the Wallachian farmlands.
  • Scandinavian Empire: Development happens around the capital Riksdale, as well as in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oldenburg and Visby. The ports of Vindov and Libov (Windau and Libau) in Couronia are being promoted. Colonial endeavours around Olafsdale (Labrador settlements) and New Blekinge (Hudson Bay settlements) continue. We move inland in our colonies, in order to expand our land mass, also moving in the direction of the great river towards the inland. Protestant preachers are sent to Oldenburg and the Hebrides and Catholic power is undermined in the region, and money is sent to the Protestant groups within the Hansa. We plan a colonisation trip to Africa. Queen Catherine introduces tea as a popular drink in the higher echelons of Scandinavian society. The military is being reformed and a refurbishing of forts, particularely at the Karelian chokepoint, the Prussian-Scandinavian border and on the Sudreyar. We study the Belkan tactics in their civil war, learning about grenadiers.
  • Papal States: The Papal Guard and the Saxons, in a masterful operation, are able to recapture the Pope from under the very noses of the infidels. By happy coincidence, the operation takes place on 1st August: the Feast of the Liberation of Saint Peter. On returning to Rome, Pope Cornelius makes a triumphant parade through the city streets, culminating at St Peter's, where he says a thanksgiving mass for the throngs of faithful there. In his homily, Cornelius says that he is convinced the successful capture was thanks in no small part to the prayers of all the faithful for his release, and to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, specifically Our Lady of Pituba, to whom the Pope prayed often. After the mass, he greets his nephew Monsignor Paulo, and thanks him for his leadership in his absence. Missions continue in the New World (especially Mzerka), Korea-China, Japan, Lan Xang, and Southern Africa.
    • The day of the Pope's return becomes known as Thanksgiving Day and is celebrated across the land. -scraw
  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: The Sultunate of Gujarat and Emirate of Sindh continue as our protectorates with the King giving the English East India company the charter to be responsible for these lands. The English East India Company forms the Army of Islamic India which is a force from both Gujarat and Sindh paid for by the protectorates but commanded and trained by the English crown while weapons consisting of muskets, filed artillery and cannons are brought in from England to equip this bi- national army of 60,000 men with several dozen English officers brought over to learn the language, train and command the new army while the Indian force is trained with the new weapons and in the European drill. Schools are set up in both capitals which provide free education to noble's children to Grammar, rhetoric and logic as part of the traditional English trivium with all of this taught in Latin. These grammar schools admit hundreds of pupils a year and are paid for by the protectorates. Trade with Sindh and Gujarat increases as they now hold a monopoly over their markets and trade for Asian goods. As part of the volunteer system, Indians are taken from their lands to New Canterbury and the Bay of Kost to settle. With the famine in Ireland and resulting migration we don't do anything about the Irish famine since the problem comes and goes but all Irishmen relocating to England are given a loan by the government worth a year's labourer wages which they can repay over 12 years to allow them to fit into the country. Construction of the strategic fortress in Cork, Ireland should take two years. Work keeps moving in Edinburgh. England has 5.8 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland 1.1 million people. New canals continue to be built in England and Wales linking rivers and cities. Roads are also built to connect some areas as well with this new transport infrastructure building in an inter linked England and Wales. Changes in agriculture continue with enclosures in Ireland and land reclamation through ditches and windmill pumps and the rise of capitalism in farmers as internal markets allow sale of goods within England while four field crop rotation is near universal by now and mining of minerals such as coal and iron which Britain has while goods are brought in from the colonies like sugar, chocolate, bananas, tobacco and cotton for use in England sale to a wider market of Europe but duty tariffs externally are kept high.
  • Russia: An expedition is launched discovering several Islands in the Island chain south of the Binkov Sea. Plans on the quadruple canals are planed for a series of canals to link Moscow, and one Canal from the capital Novgorod to Feodorburg.
  • Bengal Sultanate: The Bengali government and Great Leader had invaded our much larger but fragile neighbor, Aryavarta these last two years pushing them back to the western half. Meanwhile, Bose's forces in the civil war is being supported privately. In the invasion of the nation, we activated eight-tenths of our troops and reserves with many mercenaries that have been proven to be quite professional in an all out war with Aryavarta (algo will be added shortly). In the first year, three planned out surprise attacks push Aryavarta to the central part of the nation. This is supported by lots of gunpowder, flintlock guns, and cannons. In our second year which is this year, we invade the central part of the nation with our remaining forces. Troops that were found in Eastern Aryavarta were taken as prisoner. Many of the resistance movements were also crushed by the majorty being imprisoned. Our invasion of Central Aryavarta was quite challenging but left us with vctory nonetheless. victims of the war were supported with medical care and housing. Back in Bengal the economy booms from all this material and weapon making. Ships are built in mass numbers. In Padrina mines continue to build the economy up but with war in the mainland, expansion is put at a standstill. Forts are built across Central Aryavarta. OTL Nepal is left alone and is unaffected due to how mountainous it is. We hope for Aryavartan surrender in the following year or they wll face the consequences of being invaded further. crops are grown in large numbers and 18,000 pounds of gold is dug up this year keeping a stabilized nation in place. Market places and business continue to become more and more so of a common sight in Burma. Bhutan continues to develop even further with a University planned to be made in the next two years. With a state of war still in place, the nation continues to be doing fairly well. Banten and Chittagong are being worked on being redeveloped at the moment and should catch up to Bengal in a few years.
    • Okay, you just cant say in 1680 that you invaded me in 1679. I don believe in you besieging loosely defined regions. -Dev
  • English Arcadia: our fifth governor, Oliver Cornelius comes to power. He continues the most policies of his predecessors, but does away with giving free money to immigrants, and instead opts for giving away more land. In order to finance this, expansion continues, Especially into the great lakes region and into western Pennsylvania. In addition, we start to colonize the southern side of Lake Niagara. We use these colonies to continue to build trade with the Iroquois, as well as other native groups in the region. The colony is currently garrisoned by 6000 (Person?) British troops, along with 6000 more Arcadians. Our major forts are at either mouth of the Kobec River, at the mouth of the Connecticut river, and near New Rome and New Essex.
  • Great Union of Korea and China: The Bank of China is nationalized, with more branches being established throughout the country. To further enforce the system of gold certificates, the direct usage of gold bullion is discouraged. Property laws are further strengthened. The heir apparent Kim Seokdu (of the Manchu Orho cadet branch) is officially coronated as the Emperor in Bukgyeong. Known to be promiscuous, the number of imperial concubines and consorts (barring the Empress consort herself) soars to sixty members. Yunnan is fully annexed as a military-administered province, with General Fu Zhouze being appointed governor-general. Per discretion from the Emperor himself, the state-sponsored genocide of the Hui begins, with Hui being forced to either renounce Islam or to be faced with execution. All mosques are closed and burnt to ashes, except foreign-operated mosques intended to serve foreigners. The government continues to construct industrial complexes aimed at augmenting the military-industrial sector, thereby consolidating state power (the basic internal policy of the dynasty). Commerce is also promoted, with merchant guilds flourishing. Due to external demand for exports, and the rise in food supply (due to the implementation of modern agricultural techniques and usage of high-yield crops such as maize and potatoes), a division of labour is made. Many peasants and serfs shift from an agrarian lifestyle to work in the cultivation of cash crops (such as tea or cotton) or in the production of luxury goods (such as porcelain and silk). Calculus from the Caliphate is adopted and integrated into tertiary schooling. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Royal Sciences continues to receive heavy investment with many prodigious and educated scholars being assigned there upon the completion of their studies.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. We begin setting up chocolate, coffee, sugar, cotton and tobacco plantations. Several Banks in Swahili begins joining the stock exchange in Mogadishu, as postal services had increased in speed with the advent of new types of ships. A committee is formed in the city of Mogadishu on the reformation of the city sewer system after population of Mogadishu has grew past 500,000. Newspapers are first printed in Mogadishu and Zanzibar after a merchant returns from Bengal (Swahili had the movable type for a long time), named the Mogadishu Gazette and the Zanzibar Gazette, published weekly. Schools are constructed in major cities, transformed from previous mosques. These schools teaches Arabic and Swahili, arithmetic, logic and theology. Land reclamation and the rise of capitalism improves the sale of goods within Swahili. Following a reformation towards the market economy after increased agricultural output, Swahili begins planning the construction of a faster road system. The Madrassa of Mogadishu develops efficient agricultural techniques for Arcadian crops and also detoxification of several Arcadian plants. They are popularized and the agricultural output increases. A scholar at the Madrassa of Mogadishu discovers the cell.
    • Sultanate of Qamar: Qamar receives a garrison of 1000 Swahili soldiers to act as Royal Guards and Guards of the Swahili Embassy. Swahili merchants also begin purchasing workshops and port facilities in Qamar under funding by the Bank of Mogadishu.
    • Lakshadweep: Swahili merchants begin scouting the site and builds cargo storage units in the area. A small port is built with a garrison of 100 men fed by small orchards and farms on the island due to the small size of the island.

1681[]

The new caligraphy used in Krete, according to archaeologists, seem to come from a time long, long ago and a land far, far away.

Tazdea completes standarizing the Dene syllabic language.

Sectarian violence subsides in SE Asia.

The court of the Holy Roman Empire has a lot of Dutch-speaking people in it. Just thought you'd like to know.

The Iroqoise Confederacy threatens war if the English keep taking their land.

Chandra Bose marches his army towards Delhi, hoping to take out the Maharaja himself, while the rest of Aryavarta outside of the metropolitan Delhi falls off into mostly autonomy.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: The economy and culture turns inward to work out issues within the nation. The Jaffarid Sultanate takes more power as the Caliph is weaker. Trade relations still continue with China through the port of Gulangyu we control, and European captives are secretly sold off for better prestige of the Caliphate in China. The Amharic Sojourn ends with the period known as the Amharic Aliyah, alternatively the Amharic Exodus. A general call by the Solomonic nobility in Ethipoia summons all those oppressed in Egypt to return to their homeland in the south. Thousands of Amharic and Coptic people begin migrating out of Egypt to Ethiopia, disrupting the Arab colonies there. The Avengers still fight crime and injustice, if anyone was interested. Captain Arabia, Iron Soldier, and Hubal travel into Belka to help Tsar Peter retain the throne from Johann, particularly in securing the city of Vasiligrad. They lead a group of Turkic mercenaries to aid Tsar Peter, claiming to be converted Turkish slaves.
  • Aryavarta: A group of 25,000 elite soldiers led by Gabbar Singh attacks Bose's convoy and takes him prisoner, bringing him to the major Vaishnav shrine of Vrindavan. The Vaishnavs and Shaivs differ only in the prioritisation of gods, all the deities are revered and respected by both the sects. While Shaivsim had been dominant for the past 80 years, the Vaishnav shrines were not attacked or destroyed, the Vaihnavs were not discriminated against, their gods were revered and respected by the Shaivites and multiculturalism was respected all through these years. (As it has been in Hindu history). The difference between Hindu sects is very minute, no one can look at people and diffrentiate them as Shaivs, Vaishnavs, Bhakts, Shakts or Smarts. All are treated equally. But this Brahman named Bose had started radicalizing the Vaishnavs, disrespecting the non-Vaishnav gods which share power with Vishnu in the almighty Trinity. A grand debate is organized between Bose and the Vaishnav scholars, including Vaishnav members of the council in Vrindavan. He is defeated in the debate which was held for two weeks. All Vaishnav scholars from the Vaishnav shrines of Aryavarta had come to Vrindavan. All of them upheld Krishna's words of a 10,000 year golden age and a 300,000 year Kali Yuga which had started just 4000 years ago when Krishna ascended to heaven (around 3000 BCE). Also they say that the Golden Age of the Kali Yuga will end only after the people stop believeing in God and the fact that the vast majority believes in God proves that the Golden Age has not ended. They also state that Bose has made his followers commit sins by killing their own brothers on religious ground. While all of them believe in one or the other God of the Trinity. With the defeat of Bose by the Vaishnav scholars in Vrindavan, the anger in the radicalized Vaishnavs subsides as they again start respecting the multiculturalism of Aryavarta. This also happens due to the fact that Bengal has invaded which is seen as a bigger enemy due to it being a Muslim country which has started forcefully converting the Hindus of Bengal. With a wiser Chnadra Bose knowing that a Bengali victory would lead to Muslim hegemony and oppression not only for the Shaivites but also for the Vaishnavites. He raises a band of 50,000 followers from Marathwar, Malwa and Delhi and races east to support the Aryavartiya army. While Gabbar SIngh leading a group of 25,000 men races around western Aryavarta reuniting the janpads (provinces) which had fallen into autonomy under their council appointed Governors, after disruption in Delhi.
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Looking to capitalize on India's internal strife and reduce Muslim influence in the Indian Ocean, Iberia offers to help restore order to Aryavarta and join the war against Bengal, a Muslim aggressor and trade competitor, and thus one of Iberia's natural enemies in the east. In return, they ask for preferential trading rights and some coastal land (to be determined at the end of the war). 10,000 troops and 45 ships are sailed to Vizagapatam in preparation for this campaign. A number of mercenaries (~1,000) also travel to India to join Aryavarta's forces.
    • I didn't find anything in bengals post about force converting hindus. ~Warrior
    • Also, how can you stop a massive civil war from a debate? its like assad saying, "uhhh western devils are gonna exploit syria and its resources, so you better stop fighting and drop your weapons." yea no. ~Warrior
    • II agree with Warrior and also this would not make sense tfor Bose to do this as we are supporting him still and his rebels. Your Civil War has not yet ended and will continue as long as you do not resolve it in a more proper manner leaving you still vulnerable. Also I did not forcefully convert Hindus. ~Adolf
    • Hindu history has never seen intra-Hindu violence and as Dev has mentioned the Hindus revere all of their Gods and respect even the atheists. Historians have mentioned it is very difficult to separate the vast majority of  Hindus into sects. All sects of Hinduism have been tightly knit together after the revival of Hinduism and after Shankar, through his debates with the various scholars, proved his point of the Advaita philosophy. -DrDrake346
    • except dev has claimed 85 percent of his nation worships Shiva as the supreme god, when the north is predominatly krishna/vaishnite. While hinduism has never seen this violence, such a radical shift would likely cause it due to Shaivism being associated with Tamil/south indian/southeast asian culture and not the north.
    • Let me add, I don't think the problem is of religion, its of ethnic division. Dev has spent so much time promoting "Aryan identity" and the north is very krishnite/vaishnite, that if he promoted that asb proto nationalism so much, shaivism would been seen as tamil domination.
    • This is all meta, the mod event has said one thing, regardless of whether is implausible or not go complain to a mod about the mod event. Don't more or less disregard it like that, this Chandra Bose bloke isn't yours to control and you can't just end the civil war whether you think it is dumb or not. It's meta whether you're right or not. Person.
    • Yeah umm, Person I said he was captured.
    • Strike. -scraw
  • Malaya: With sectarian violence going down, we release the arrested. Urbanisation continues along the Sabahan coast. A new variant of the rubber tree is bred in Pahang, and subsequently planted in plantations across the country. The rubber harvested from this variant has higher yield and is more versatile, and alchemists and labourers are experimenting with it to see its uses. Cheese is produced in areas with cattle being reared, and wrapped in wax for preservation. They are exported to nearby nations as the produce is not expected to survive the long journey into Europe. A noodle dish seasoned with spices and soup becomes popular, called "Laksa". It makes its way into kopitiams, where it is enjoyed alongside kopi. Attempts to grow kopi in local farms are successful, and variants are soon grown. A new fruit has been discovered in Sabah, called the "Lada" (Peppercorn). It has a spicy taste which is used to garnish the local food. It begins being cultivated in farms.
  • Lan Xang: God King continues to promote peace and grace, and invites Christians, and Buddhists to tea and banquets. He improves infrastructure, improving the irrigation to eventually boost the population, while the plan to switch to a siniced script continues. A great Church is built, a Buddhist temple in the bengali style architecture in Vientiane. Makanist worshipers do not need temples, they worship out home or outside. Meanwhile, the God King modernizes the country, building Korean style gunpowder weapons for defense, while keeping to the traditional Lan Xang sword style. More Makanist missions are sent to rural Cambodia, Champa, Malaya, Siam, and Bengal, avoiding the cities after the fire hoax. The God King declares himself a "Man of the Peasants and Tribals." Makanism can be practiced by anyone due to not requiring a specific or any place of worship. However, in Lan Xang PROPER, urbanization is happening at a steady pace, and Makanism is spreading in the cities there. The Catholic mission continues, and the God King promises them a housing area in Muang Xay. The Nestorians are in the capital. For first time, technology is being developed with what little Lan Xang has. Examples include improving of firearms, metallurgy, upgrading the blast furnaces and indigenously producing them. Smiths produce these items, and artisans sell these items. The economic sector is improving.
    • Lan Xang Diplomacy: We transport 1000 of our troops to aid our ally and fellow Chinese tributary bengal in their war against Aryavarta. They are armed with Korean Firearms.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:We ask the vatican to give us aid to conquer the pagan tribes and we ask them to call for a crusade (PLAYERS RESPONSE).We also begin to introduce European clothing into Mzerkan culture .We produce 1000 guns and we begin looking into ways how to use a gunmen on an elk. We also begin to use more corn and now 75% of farmers use it. We keep also attacking the tribes. We tame more elk. Now we got 10,000 elk in our territory.
    • No you don't.. way too quick on the development uptake. -Feud
    • Okay, sorry, how many max? -vinny
    • You shouldn't be able to produce your own guns after only a few years of contact with Europe. OTL natives bought their guns from European suppliers through the arms trade, but they were produced in Europe and regulated by the European powers.
    • Ah okay, sorry, excuse me I didn't know that.
  • Tsardom of Belka: The Civil war continues in earnest. With nearly 100,000 casualties already brought to bear after just a few years of war, it has become clear that warfare during this crisis is not going to be an easy affair. The Siege of Sarajevo in the Province of Serbia continues with the 10,000 man force being cut down to just under 2500. The Reaper himself fires the final shot which puts a breach in the defenses. However while this is going on the Reaper is caught from behind with the full force of the now fully trained Army of the West which surrounds Johann's forces. The besiegers become the besieged as finally by winter the final decisive engagement occurs between the usurpers poorly supplied forces and the Western Army plus the remainder of Srajevos garrison. The Battle is woefully one sided as of the 20,000 troops brought in by the Usurper is absolutely crushed under the better equipped and supplied Loyalist forces and only a few thousand escape hoping to run into the sieging force outside of the Ruins of Belgrad. However the Western Army pursues refusing to let such a salient exist and fights another decisive battle outside of Belgrad which crushes the vastly unprofessional militia that was brought with the Reapers initial army. The securing of Serbia however becomes the only victory this year as the Tsar and his Generals are slammed with unheard of levels of manpower. Nearly 100,000 militia and recently raised unprofessional troops in crude battle formations storm into Bulgaria and Greece. the roughly 40,000 Professional troops in the area having been badly mauled last year are not put into the field as they wait for their reinforcements before pushing back into Wallachia. The Aegean Garrison having previously fought outside Vasiligrad northwards on the Coast is forced to fall back as the various armies are all split between the two 20,000 strong armies in Bulgaria, another 15,000 strong on the Black sea coast and 5000 left to defend the Aegean. The final Professional forces being left in the West fighting in Serbia. The inability to link up the armies is bad but also doubles in not allowing the Johannist forces from pushing any further south than Adrianograd without suffering severe supply shortages or exposed flanks. Sporadic fighting between advance units and patrols continues all year. However with this going on Johann makes a final bid looking to end the war once and for all by taking the capital. Drawing in his remaining 35,000 troops of the Great Vlach Army he marches south and with nearly 50,000 militiamen and lesser troops attacks Vasiligrad forcing the 15,000 strong Aegean garrison into Vasiligrads defensive walls. The first test of the Theodosian walls now known as the Walls of Kaloyan to be tested. While vastly outnumbering Tsar Petars forces, Vasiligrad holds defiantly.
  • Karnad: We invade Aryavarta with 150,000 troops and quickly overrun Maharashtra due to absence of troops. Another 50,000 troops guard our cosatline. Development of the agricultural sector continues. New cities and towns are constructed. A road running from Mysore to Tanjore is under construction. A University for mathematics is stablished in Tanjore. The administrative system is efficient and the King is quite impressed. With landless farmers being given lands in newer areas, the amount of labor goes down, forcing many feudal houses to sell their lands as no one is ready to till it. Tax rates are decided by the court and are implemented by the county officials. Dakshini is widely implemented and rises in popularity. Schools open up in the cities. Village level education in pathshalas by the local gurus is immensely popular.
    • Meluakam: Balochistan is renamed Melu-Akam (meaning high land). A governor is appointed by the court of Karnad. The population stands at two million. The civil services are set up just like they are in Karnad. A new capital is established on the coast and is named Uttaranagar (meaning northern city). Large number of people from Karnad start settling in the sparsely inhabited areas of Meluakam. A committee of officers divides Meluakam into various counties. A new version of Dakshini comes into existence called as Melu-Dakshini. Agricultural development projects are started. Schools are being built. A large number of gurus come to Meluakam to teach the people and form the local village education system. Fortresses are established on the coast. Roads are being built, manufactories, foundries, furnaces and printing presses open up in Meluakam. The canal and road projects provide employment to a large number of people. A small Suddhi movement is launched. By the end of the year some 200,000 people from Karnad have resettled into Meluakam.
  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: The East Indian Company continues to train the Army of Islamic India with the supplying of muskets, horses and field artillery as well as other important things such as the boots for soldiers. Due to heat the soldiers cannot be given red jackets but traditional clothing they wear already is dyed red for the soldiers. They also train in drill and formation of European line infantry commanded by British officers learning the language. The two grammar schools constructed in the respective capitals continue to teach the trivium to noble's children. Seeing the threat from Hindus and strife across the border the East India company orders new work begin on a better strategic fort at Modasa in Gujarat and we also start construction of a new strategic fort at Guddu to control the river. These strategic forts will be controlled by Gujarat and Sindh and take around ten years to build with the defences taking inspiration from European star forts consisting of eight bastions and surrounding earthworks as well as cleared surroundings but they are small in size since they don't need to protect much area. Trade with Sindh and Gujarat increases as they now hold a monopoly over their markets and trade for Asian goods. As part of the volunteer system, Indians are taken from their lands to New Canterbury and the Bay of Kost to settle and the areas aren't expanded but more people are settled in the existing areas. With the famine in Ireland and resulting migration we don't do anything about the Irish famine since the problem comes and goes but all Irishmen relocating to England are given a loan by the government worth a year's labourer wages which they can repay over 12 years to allow them to fit into the country. The fortress of Cork is finished with sea based defences consisting of gun batteries and a chain boom protecting entry into Cork as well as defences to protect them and defensive earthworks and bastions surrounding the town itself to defend it from overland attack. England has 5.8 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland 1.1 million people. Small amounts of migration to England from Scotland due to enclosures. Transport upgrades are pulled back for a few years as we make the first of a series of repayments to China on the loan we took out. Changes in agriculture continue with enclosures in Scotland and land reclamation through ditches and windmill pumps and the rise of capitalism in farmers as internal markets allow sale of goods within England while four field crop rotation is near universal by now and mining of minerals such as coal and iron which Britain has while goods are brought in from the colonies like sugar, chocolate, bananas, tobacco and cotton for use in England sale to a wider market of Europe but duty tariffs externally are kept high.
  • Bengal Sultanate: Bengal enters its third year of war with Aryavarta leading with 300,000 troops into more Aryavartan provinces. The forces are no match for our army and a clash occurs between us in Delhi. Although we outnumbered them it was slightly toubling to defeat them. Either way Delhi had fallen. Troops looked for surviving military members and government officials and some were taken. We request Aryavarta to surrender or face further consequences. We offer supplies to Karnad in its war in southern Aryavarta by giving them cannons and gunpowder. Resistance forces are mostly captured in already occupied regions and the search for more is underway. Gunpowder and weaponry continue to be produced in large amounts. In Padrina we continue to grow coffee and mine for diamonds. More small ports are constructed around the coast. In the other colonies, agriculture and ship making continues to grow. In Ahom and Bhutan, gold continues to be mined. In Burma, the Muslim population is on the rise with Makanist seen as a minority. In Banten people start to work on irrigation and agriculture with many spices and coffee being produced. We hope this is our last year of war with Aryavarta but if not the conflict shall continue until peace is reached. We also send 250 of our battleships armed with weapons and cannons just in case anyone else decides to get involved out into the Bay of Bengal with 13,000 reserved troops on standby to join in on defending the Bay.
We move inland in our colonies, in order to expand our land mass, also moving in the direction of the great river towards the inland (OTL St. Lawrence).
  • Poland: Poland announces that they are creating a military and economic coalition for protection against Russia, Poland offers Scandinavia, Saxony, Burgundy, and Prussia to join (Player response needed). Meanwhile, Poland also offers a marriage alliance to Saxony (Player response needed). Poland also begins building up its army in size and skill. Thus, Poland begins to train its army into a professional army, and enlarge it, along with this Poland stations its army along the Russian border, it will take five years to train them.
  • Electorate of Saxony: With continued Economic advancement and the inability to further advance their military Saxony decides to advance their technology and thus begins pouring the massive amount of wealth and other resources they have into technological advancement and further improving their military technology such as improvements in armor, muskets, and tactics, along with the development of new weapons of war. Meanwhile, Saxony continues to attempt to pressure East Frisia into joining Saxony and thus time offers Money along with once again calling upon the Scandinavian Empire to assist them. Meanwhile, they accept Poland's marriage proposal and spend their insane amounts of wealth on one of the most lavish weddings to be held in 1682 and rulers from all over Europe are invited… along with this the pope is asked to send a cardinal to be minister at the wedding or even Pope himself, considering that without the Saxon’s help his rescue would have been much harder.
  • Maghreb:Trade: We continue our trade with Europe and Africa as traders meet up in smaller city due to protest, The Maghreb also begins to try it hand at the spice and salt trade via selling more salt and spices, gold is slown down to prevent inflation. Government: The new Government is set up being called Maghreb States, Badr is given Shura power and begins to set up schools, laws, and things of that level. Rasfan is given more of a poetry and Scientific Advancement. A new leader is picked both by the Islamist and umanist factions and that man is named Faruk Current Event: The Sultan Faruk goes to Mecca, Damascus, Cairo and Aleppo and Mednia to work on improving relationships with the Emirates and work on creating a trade deal but with governers/emir
      • Tajammad Emirate: The Emirate works on preparing for the cold seasons by collecting firewood during the summer. Walls and Houses are reworked on to defend the "Ansari" from animals. Hunting parties are sent to hunt down animals and eat them, while some are killed for their winter fur. A mosque is made called Al Hawqk and is made in hope of rivaling other Mashjids. Haush land is given to Tajamidan people to rule these areas are called "Forts". New World food is sent back home to be traded. Our ships begin to train on how to sail the rocky seas to reach the Pacific Ocean and study the ways to the Pacific Ocean. Due to the way of the New World women are given more physically as in helping create the wall or guarding areas. The port (not the best or biggest) of Tajammad is re-made along with ocean defense walls and gun ports made along with 50 cannons. The population stands at 30,720 people with a slow rise in pop. The Ona state is annexed into the Emirate and Ona majority areas are put under an Ona that accepted Islam named Hassan al Badr but some question his loyalty and if he converted just to gain power, Islam with the Ona people slowly rise as a 50% percent in the Ona Population become Muslim, as the Ona state is named the Ona Bukrain. Seeing the killing of Tajjamdians the State begins to hold up strong military view as the Emir begins to arm more colonists.
      • Emirate of Al Maqadas: The Emirate is set up in Port Alegre and walls and houses are placed up to bring cover to the population of 17,000 people. A port is worked on. The Emirate begins to expand across the coast by 7 px. More Arms and sent to Emirate to help arm the people of the Emirate.
  • Russia: Internal canal construction continues, the four-river canal system with Moscow as the central hub of the canals begins. In response to the Polish aggression, the Tsar places 620,000 Troops along the Polish Frontier. The Baltic Fleet (105 ships) is placed on alert.
    • Georgia: More roads are constructed into Russia to link Tbilisi with Novgorod and other cities.
  • English Arcadia: our fifth governor, Oliver Cornelius comes to power. He continues the most policies of his predecessors, but does away with giving free money to immigrants, and instead opts for giving away more land. We also begin encouraging citizens of English India to migrate to Arcadia, promising them the same rights that are granted to Europeans. Our population stands at nearly 1.35 million people. In order to finance the rapid immigration, expansion continues, Especially into the great lakes region and into western Pennsylvania, though we acknowledge the Iroquois request an avoid expansion into their territory. We continue to build trade with the Iroquois, as well as other native groups in the region. The colony is currently garrisoned by 6000 (Person?) British troops, along with 6000 more Arcadians. Our major forts are at either mouth of the Kobec River, at the mouth of the Connecticut River, and near New Rome and New Essex.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. We continue setting up chocolate, coffee, sugar, cotton and tobacco plantations. Several Banks in Swahili begins joining the stock exchange in Mogadishu, as postal services had increased in speed with the advent of new types of ships. A committee is formed in the city of Mogadishu on the reformation of the city sewer system after population of Mogadishu has grew past 500,000. The road project begins with plannings of a highway going from Somaliland through Qamar to Aliwa. The scholar, named Hu-ka, publishes a treatise with over 100 diagrams of cells, prompting a paradigm shift in the Madrassa of Mogadishu. The Sultan orders scholars in the Madrassa of Mogadishu to develop Standard Swahili, a creole of Swahili and Standard Arabic.
    • Sultanate of Qamar: Qamar switches its national language to both Swahili and Standard Arabic.
    • Lakshadweep: Merchants plan on expanding the islands by sinking ships and connecting them to the island.

1682[]

In a climactic battle outside of Patna, comparable only to the Kurukshetra War, the Shavist and Vaishnavist forces clash for 18 days, killing Chandra Bose and scattaring his followers.

Although victorious over the civil war, Aryavarta is extremely weakened, and now controls very little otuside of Patna's metropolitan area. The rest of the nation falls apart into mostly-autonomous states.

French wine is introduced to Malaya via Burgundy.

Lan Xang does such a great job having Buddhists and Christians work together that some Catholic prelates complain to the Pope that some churches in SE Asia are using heretical practices.

Not as many people are willing to go to Baloch as Karnad expected.

The Iroqoise express that their claim spans the western branch of the Susquehana river.

The Sultanate of Rum invades Cilicia.

The Zulu Kingdom after years of its own isolation due to events further north, officially sends its first trade ships to Arabia and East Africa.

The old Tsar of Poland decides his last war will be to lay claim to the throne of his grandfather, Bulgaria. Seizing upon these rights, he proclaims himself to be the rightful heir to Belka, taking advantange of the current war between the factions. He takes half of Poland's entire strength with him while the other half are being raised and are yet to come.

  • The mods area aware that Poland has a player?
  • He was informed that he can play after the event chain is over, This is not something we were not aware of -Feud
  • Well that's kinda unfair... but alas... If you say so. -Brick
  • Rashidun Caliphate: The military and economy are upgraded under the control of the Jaffarid Sultanate. The Ulema continue to be largely puppets of the Jaffarids while the Caliph is also their lacky. While peaceful relations are arranged with Africa, the former African Sultan is summoned from Libya to live in Cairo, where his stay and retirement will be quite comfortable. The Ulema also agree to enter the broader trade agreement with Morocco, and includes this compact with all the remaining vassals of the Caliphate. The Amharic Alihah continues, as thousands more Coptics immigrate back to Ethiopia, disrupting the Arab colonies. Art and culture are produced at the House of Wisdom along with scientific discoveries. The new Sultan, Khalid Jaffar, is mentally unstable, mostly megalomaniacal. He has dreams of utilizing the Caliphate for a new wave of conquest and expansion.
  • Tsardom of Belka: The movement of Tsar Stanislav and his troops into Belka catches Johann off guard, who while is distracted by the sieges in the South has yet to fully commit the core of his final army into the fight having spent the time trying to probe and overwhelm Tsar Petars Loyalists. He brings to bear 20,000 Professional troops, and nearly 80,000 lower level and militia units to bear on Stanislavs 30,000 strong army. His army is absolutely eviscerated in the opening engagement near the Moldavian border, and Johann hastily retreats only to be caught from behind and the remainder of his army encircled. In an attempt to break the Encirclement only 5000 of Johanns professional troops manage to break out and the rest of the army is absolutely crushed in the ensuing chaos. Johann himself is killed in the breakout and the 5000 survivors of the two battles practically run south as Stanislav secures a beachhead in Moldavia and northern Wallachia. Almost all the fighting in the south stops as the survivors report their findings to both factions, one of which now doesnt have their titular leader. The remainder of the Johannist faction folds and agrees to end the civil war now without a cause to continue it. Tsar Petar quickly takes his proper place in Vasiligrad and issues a decree pardoning the remainder of Johanns forces saying that an internal conflict cannot overshadow the External threat which has threatened the independence of Belka. He follows this up with an official declaration of defensive war on Poland and refuses the claim of Stanislav over the Belkan Tsardom. He heads to Lead his army a combined total Professional force of 80,000 as well as nearly 50,000 lighter auxiliaries or militia. They head north and pass into Vlach officially encountering the Polish forces near the city of Brasov near various refugee camps and disorganized militia formerly part of the Johannist faction. Petar learns through these various remnants that Stanislav has spent the last month and a half subjugating Moldavia and northern Vlach evenutally killing a fair deal of people in these provinces. Tsar Petar meets with his generals and after much deliberation embarks on a Campaign to evict Stanislav from Belka no matter the cost. The First Battle, the Battle of Brasov ends in a literal disaster as the entire Auxilary force dissappears into the jaws of the now 50,000 strong Polish army which practically chews the auxilary/militia forces apart. The Second battle in which the Belkan forces took a stand after nearly a two weeks of running from place to place was the Battle of Oured. The Belkan forces held the line against the vicious Polish attack and prevented the Polish entry into Southern Vlach and the Bulgar Province the most populous and developed part of the Tsardom. The next few battles took place over a two month period are known as the Vlach plains. These battles saw the use of great artillery Barrages mass cavalry charges, and the deaths of tens of thousands on either side, turning it into literal killing fields. The Final battle occuring on Christmas day saw the Battered but determined Belkan army launch a desperate final attack. With their backs to the Carpathian mountains and little knowledge of the landscape on the Vlacho-Transylvannian provincial borders, led to the conclusion of a decisive battle in favor of the Belkan forces. While casualties were moderate for the 15,000 man force led by General Kamarov, they managed to fight a force twice their size unsing extremely unorthodox tactics and claim victory. The Polish Tsar Stanislav is injured during this final battle and dies shortly thereafter from a gunshot to the abdomen and its subsequent infection. (scraw and nate plz look)
    • Why is Belka able to determine the outcome of NPC battles? This was not allowed with, for instance, the Polish invasion of Prussia, or the Aryavarta civil war. -General
  • Papal States: Pope Cornelius, grateful to the Saxons for their role in his regaining his freedom from the saracens, goes to Saxony to officiate at the wedding, and to make a pastoral visit to the faithful there, meeting the local clergy, Latin and Northern-Rite. Returning to Rome, His Holiness is faced with two major issues. The first is the overwhelming popularity of his nephew Monsignor Paulo. Following Paulo's regency in Cornelius' absence, the former has enjoyed a tremendous degree of respect amongst the people and the clergy, and there is a major groundswell of support for him to be raised to the cardinalate. Cornelius is loath to do so, since it could be seen as evidence that nepotism is sneaking back into the Church. However given the massive groundswell of pressure, the Pope gives in and names Paulo a cardinal. He is not ordained a bishop, remaining a mere cardinal-priest. And his actual duties have not changed: he remains merely the Legate of Milan province. The other major issue is the letter from prelates in SE Asia. After consulting with the Holy Inquisition, scholars, and missionaries who have served in the far East, Cornelius writes an encyclical called Plane compertum. In it, Cornelius lays the groundrules for inculturation and the incorporation of local traditions. Catholics are to be permitted to take part in local and traditional rites and customs, so long as they are not explicitly idolatrous or heretical. Honouring or venerating ancestors according to Chinese customs, for example, is permissable. Learning the teachings of 'Buddha' as a philosopher is considered licit, so long as it does not cross into religious following. Catholics may also passively participate in public ceremonies which may have the appearance of superstition. In other news, the Immaculata priests sent to Zulu who were martred a few decades ago are declared Venerable by the Congregation for Canonisations. Missions continue in the New World, Korea-China, Japan, Lan Xang, and Southern Africa.
  • Great Union of Korea and China: The Emperor Kim Seokdu begins patronizing Manchu shamanistic rituals and cultural customs, and implements a law restricting Korean immigration (placing a quota) into Manchuria proper. Furthermore, he begins appointing members of his fellow Orho cadet branch to important positions.
  • Malaya: Rubber collection methods improve, with tapping becoming the more popular and efficient method to harvest latex from the tree. A dried version of harvested rubber is fitted around the wheels of carts to make them more durable, as well as increase mobility in uneven terrain. French wine becomes a rare luxury, available only to the higher classes. It is discovered the wine goes well with cheese, and a new method of exporting cheese is developed, involving wrapping it in many layers and keeping it in a dark, cool area, usually a box. It should allow the cheese to be exported to Europe. Expansion into Borneo continues, with harvested wood fueling the development of infrastructure nation-wide. Settlements are constructed in the northeast of the Malaya to accomodate traders from Lan Xang and Cambodia. We take note of recent developments in Southeast Asia, and our military strategists have confirmed suspicions of a Dai Viet attack on Champa that would destabilise the whole region. In best interests, we offer assistance to Champa, and begin preparing our Royal Navy.
  • Lan Xang: The God King welcomes the peace between the Makanists, Buddhists and Christians. Also something notable is a Chinese Hui Muslim minority has appreaed fleeing the Chinese genocide, many of whom want to return to their homeland to retake Tali. The God King does not ally them however, as he is still a loyal tributary of China. He however promises them safety under the condition they come back to China. This is causing unique Islamic-Chinese culture to spread into Lan Xang, causing a cultural renaissance. However, there is great anger in the nation. This is not about religion. This is about an old rivalry. Tensions have been rising with Dai Viet, and many generals believe because Tondo was able to beat Dai Viet navally, if Lan Xang can support Champa and attack at the same time it can defeat Dai Viet in a war. However, the God King isn't impulsive, yet as a wise ruler, is wary about possible Vietnamese expansion. He intends to send in 5000 troops armed with copies of Korean firearms to Champa, where they will train Champa's army. He decides not to attack. However, he wants to help Champa catch up, fearing that Champa's army is very poorly trained and equipped. He also sends in 2500 gunsmiths to help them produce firearms of their own, as well as cannon, and train a hopeful eventual generation of Cham gunsmiths, though this will take time. We offer Cham this deal, and a defensive alliance. (MOD)
  • Siam: The islamic minority is growing, and we send in 5000 reinforcements from our junk ships to champa to deter a possible Dai Viet invasion
  • Japan: Outraged by the growing Christian minority in his nation, Shogun Oda Nimeyutsu Expels all Christian Missionaries from Japan. He declares Christianity an insult to Japan and its culture, and also demands that all of the nobility in his realm convert to shinto or face exile and even death. And he would also, to further diminish Christian influence on his country, Severely restrict trade with westerns. Following this move, the nobility is of course extremely angered and would begin plotting against the shogun, seeing oportunity in all of this, the emperor would join the plot and influence even more clans in. By the Middle of the year war breaks out in Japan between the Imperial Loyalists and Shogunate Loyalists. The Imperial Faction would hold most of western Japan excluding Kyoto, While the shogunate would hold the east except for Hokkaido and some northern daimyos which stay neutral at the start. In order to take advantage over the Shogun's troops, Emperor Osachi would send envoys to ask support from European countries present in east asia (Response Needed) And, by the end of the year the imperial forces would seize Kyoto. And prepare for a major offensive next year. The northern clans except for Hokkaido reluctantly join the Imperial forces on the threat of being invaded.
    • The Burgundian East India Company, who runs the Dejima trading post in Nagasaki, offers support for the Imperial faction if the Emperor promises to not continue the oppression of Giapanois Christians.
    • Russia is considering sending mercenaries and weapons in return for something.
    • Japan doesn't have a Catholic minority, it has a Catholic PLURALITY.
    • Korea–China condemns the forced expulsion of Catholic converts by the shogun, and threatens to sever tributary relations and launch a punitive expedition to overthrow the current shogun. Meanwhile, envoys are sent to Burgundy and Russia warning not to intervene in the internal affairs of its tributaries.
  • Karnad: The Dakshini language is completely implemented in all government offices. Dakshina continues to grow in popularity. A Records Department is created. Rubber and Tea plantations come up in Kerala. Rubber and Tea start to be exported to Europe. Development in the agricultural sector continues. Canals are being built in the Deccan as larger parts of cultivated areas come under irrigation. The Scythe rises suddenly in popularity and improves the efficiency of food production. The production of cash crops and animal husbandry is encouraged. The government in a landmark decision allows scientific experimentation and the dissection of human bodies. Rules for the cremation of bodies and boundaries of cremation sites are strictly defined and these are to be implemented by the head of the county. A proper Police system is created with the creation of a new county-level post, that of the County Police Chief who works with the County Head. We gradually improve drainage so as to put our wetlands into use. Because of improvements in the agricultural sector, a larger number of people start settling in the cities and towns. A new improvement to the muskets is introduced, the bayonet. Muskets are used in greater numbers as manufactories for weapons open up. Karnad starts exporting a larger number of raw materials. Landless farmers are offered land in the newly cleared areas. The wood from the newly cleared areas is either exported or used in construction of buildings. As the number of tenants falls, the feudal houses are forced to sell their land. The duty of rent and tax collection is give to the county-head. The power of feudal houses steadily declines. However there is no big feudal house to challenge, powerful enough to challenge the monarchy and its officers. Also, for a long time the feudal houses have not been allowed to raise armies. We establish direct trade relations with Cambodia, Lan Xang, Champa, Tondo and Dai Viet. Trade is increased and duties are lowered to help facilitate trade with France, Iberia and England.
    • Balochistan|Meluakam: Many landless farmers in Karnad are offered land in Meluakam. They see this as a good way to save themselves from the oppressive feudal system. They are also given money to jumpstart their farms in Meluakam. Since they are offered money in Meluakam, the choices of resettling in Karnad and Meluakam become equally attractive. Canals are dug linking the small rivers of Meluakam and this greatly improves irrigation and agricultural production. Development projects follow with roads being constructed. The capital Uttaranagar is established on OTL Chahbahar.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:We Win the war against the pagan tribes and We integrate them into our kingdom. We also Ask Iberia and the papal states to get us some guns to be able to conquer more land for Christianity. We also advandce our iron technology and we make our first full harnesses that are use for defencive war also a ranking system is set up in the army by a true and loyal friend of Amadeus Diltwa.
  • Bengal Sultanate: Our long war fought with Aryavarta is over. The Treaty of Gaya is signed.Punjab regains all of its lost territory. Also Aryavarta must pay must pay us back a fraction of the total cost of the war. (More info can be found by searching for Treaty of Gaya). Also much of the eastern provinces of Aryavarta are annexed. We begin to rebuild what had been damaged in the war. The nation also begins allowing missionaries to spread islam in the region. The nation also allows makan minorities to spread makanism in the region as it might appeal better to the citizens of the newly annexed land. The nation's governors and sultan also agrees to protecting people's religious rights and makes it illegal to forcefully convert citizens to any religion. In the first few months after the annexation many people are uncomfortable and slightly concerned on what the government might bring as it is foreign. But near the end of the year people begin to prefer the Sultanate over the previous government as it seemed more fair and ideal. Construction and demolition workers are hired in large numbers causing a flood in jobs. Many homes start to be rebuilt or replaced with work on developing the valleys into coffee and chocolate farms are in the works with several farms being built across the region Near the coast, homes are developed into more modern standards with a national sewer system in the works of being built. Plans are already underway to make shipyards along the coast to produce more ships. Mines also start to get built. In Padrina, a gold mine is established and large quantities of gold are excavated. The colony with the help of native influence expand 6 px inland. In the other colonies everything tends to be doing well with not much of any big news other than A large megaship being built on Mistri. Slowly hindus and Muslims learn how to live in harmony but it will take a little while longer before they could live in harmony and have it s the new norm. near the largest battles fought the homeless were given shelters until hmes are built. The mining industry should cause a huge boom in the region due to the amount of precious minerals in the region. Mines in Ahom and Bhutan continue to produe large quantities of gld and silver. The Muslim population in burma continues to rise with the Makan mnority population grws with missionaries from Lan Xang spreadng the religious ideals to Buddhist.
  • Poland: We begin to build up Infrastructure. The first infrastructure plan is the construction of a major road system that connects all major cities of Poland and leads into neighboring nations, the road system will be finished in about ten years. The second Infrastructure plan is to restructure cities and make them larger which will take about 15 years, advanced plumbing systems are being built as well. We are begin to tighten law enforcement and reduce crime. Education reforms take place, making good education more accessible. Overall large infrastructure plans are made and construction is beginning, they should be finished in 20 years. Around the end of the year the our new tsar attempts to begin somewhat positive relations with Belka(player response needed).
These strategic forts will be controlled by Gujarat and Sindh and take around nine years to build with the defences taking inspiration from European star forts consisting of eight bastions and surrounding earthworks as well as cleared surroundings but they are small in size since they don't need to protect much area. England has 5.9 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland one million people.
  • Russia: A long expedition discovers a bay with an inlet where the Ship Lena encounters a native people who call themselves the Aleut (this was agreed over chat with Andy being the third to agree behind Scraw and Nate, who btw put his name up on the colonize request, so can you two hurry it up). The ship creates an outpost with the consent of the natives called Danila (OTL Unalaska). An Orthodox Priest from Gorod Vostok is sent to convert the local populace to Orthodox Christianity (Mod Response). Seeing Poland in a weak prospect with their Tsar dead, Tsar Feodor demands Poland cede Lithuania back to Russia (Polish Response Required).
  • Kingdoms of Burgundy, Prussia, and Bohemia: Nova Belgica continues consolidating control of its land. New Germany (around otl Mobile, Alabama) expands 50px east. Maryland expands 50px up the east coast. Seeing the recent death of the polish tsar, Holy Roman Emperor William issues a demand to Poland to return Pomerelia to Prussia (Polish Player response). More to come.
  • Maghreb:Trade: We continue our trade with Europe and Africa as traders meet up in smaller city due to protest, The Maghreb also begins to try it hand at the spice and salt trade via selling more salt and spices, gold is slown down to prevent inflation. Government: The new Government is set up being called Maghreb States,Badr is given Shura power and begins to set up schools, laws and things of that level.
      • Emirate of Omar: A group of 18,000 men are sent to Portland, where they set up base (building walls, ports) and trade with natives while expanding 7 px across the coastline. Most of the men and women there are armed.
      • Al Badr: A group of 18,000 men are sent to Lynn Haven with two gunboats, where they set up base (building walls, ports) and trade with natives while expanding 7 px across the coastline. Most of the men and women there are armed. They also worked on a massive port
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: With life returning to normal following the marriage of Aseel and Werababa, Sultan Jalaal again pursues the idea of union between Kiovo and Zayiyr to create the Al-Afriqia State (Mod). We continue to mine large portions of the Water Rock, as the first scepter for Sultan Jalaal has the mineral placed within the circular part. We send an envoy and a diplomat to the Rashidun Caliphate t possibly exchange the Water Rock's (Diamonds) for weaponry.
A committee is formed in the city of Mogadishu on the reformation of the city sewer system after population of Mogadishu has grew past 500,000. Several hundred kilometers of road has been laid as the project continues. The develop of Standard Swahili continues.
    • Sultanate of Qamar: Qamar switches its national language to both Swahili and Standard Arabic.
    • Lakshadweep: Merchants buy a few ships filled with sand and sink them around the islands.
  • Electorate of Saxony: The marriage is a lavish one and it is one of the greatest Europe has ever seen. With the Pope being minister to the marriage it was unquestionably legitimate and very prestigious considering the Pope himself was attending the marriage let alone minister of the wedding. After the wedding there was a massive feast with food from Asia, Africa, the New World, and Europe. After the wedding there was a large military parade and it was announced Saxony would begin construction on the largest Cathedral in the World. Its exact measurements are 750 feet long, 550 feet high, and 475 feet high.
  • Bengal Sultanate:  Bengal continues to develop its economy while investing heavily in rebuilding Aryavartan annexed territory now named Burdagan which is a new province added to the list of territory under Bengali rule. Islam continues to spread across Burdagan. A very popular Imam has begun to take Burdagan by storm spreading Islam by giving speeches and community help to the Hindus in the region leading to the surge of Hindus converting due to a lowering concern of the foreign religion. The first mosque are built across the region made up of a mix of Bengali and Aryavartan architecture. We also begin to invest in education and rebuilding our miltary. Military bases and advance in building up the navy. The Self Defense Program continues to be successful by increasing the level of volunteers and reserved troops. 34,000 people are recruited into the military. 26 megaships begin to be constructed with them most likely being equipped with large amounts of weaponry and cannons. Gunpowder and guns continue to be produced. Agriculturally, Burma, Bengal, and Burdagan thrive. Coffee and Chocolate farms start to be made in Burdaganian fields and valleys. Spices are also massly produced to be traded off with our European allies and trade partners. With our government hoping to spread influence across the region we begin to support our neighbor's development in military strength. Specifically Champa. We send them 9000 troops are sent over to train the current military to be better equipped and teach them how to make and use cannons by sending 90 cannons over and shared to them blueprints of our warships and architecture. Makanism continues to become popular amongst Buddhist in Burma. In Padrina we continue to expand westward 6px. the first vanilla farms are built in Mistri and New Bahamas with the vanilla plants just beginning to be introduced into New Pandestria and Padrina. Marketplaces start to become more common in Bhutan and Ahom near rivers and near towns. Newspaper industries begin to see a boom as more people in rural parts of the nation need to receive their news from somewhere. A large gold, diamond, and the silver reserve is being designed to be the largest and most protected reseve in the world measuring 900 ft long and 600 ft wide and stands 450 ft high.  our nation continues to develop significantly and continues to become a large power in Southern Asia.

Animistic mysticism gains some popularity in East Asia, mainly around divination through I-Ching.

Champa accepts the military help from Lan Xang and Siam, and begins using it to rapidly build up their own military.

Kerala becomes a major export of tea, rivaling the exports from Guangdong.

Although fighting has ceased, Bengal's war of expansion is still technically on until they produce a treaty for the members to sign.

The education reforms allows Poland to adopt technology faster.

Someone in Ireland invents banana nut bread from England's banana imports. This quickly becomes a staple of Irish diet.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Military and economy improves under the domination of the Jaffarid Sultanate. Trade continues in the east through Gulangyu, and the House of Wisdom continues to produce new scientific discoveries in anatomy and chemistry. The Sharrif of Mecca agrees to help Morocco establish their Islamic Union Organization, centered at Mecca the center of the Muslim world. Missionaries are sent to southern Africa, Southeast Asia, and Laurentia. Weapons are sent to Zayiyr in exchange of diomands. In order to satisfy his wild meglomaniacle desires, the Sultan sends 20 of the finest Caliphate troops on Moroccan ships up the Atlantic coast to invade Norway, a long time enemy of the Caliphate.
  • Great Iberia: Monterey and Santo António (OTL San Diego) both expand along the coast toward each other. Méxica expands inland northward and along the Rio Grande, conquering the remnants of the Chichimeca people. Mêcicipi expands along the Mississippi and Rio Grande. Nova Lusitânia and Maranhão expand inland, the latter along the Amazon River. Iberia continues to assert its dominion over São Atto and the bay of OTL Ecuador, building new settlements in these areas. The native population of Aruaque suffers an outbreak of several European diseases at once, killing many. To make matters worse, the Arawak cacique rejects Iberian aid, believing the Portuguese are responsible for "poisoning" them. The Tupi fare no better, and are almost completely annihilated after the most recent outbreak, partly due to Iberian practices of Tupi enslavement.
  • Cambodia: As sectarian violence dies down in the country, we are now aware of a new threat - Dai Viet. Dai Vietan forces are lined up on the Dai Viet-Champa border, and look as if they are ready for war. This would be a devastating event in the Indochinese Peninsula, and could potentially destabilize our nation. The King thus decides on only one possible action: to mobilize our army. So far, around 110,000 troops are gathered up, and are on standby for further orders. We also pump financial aid to the Cham. King Chey Chetta III plans to discuss the Dai Viet problem with the Cham and Lan Xangi kings. Inside the nation, the new capital of Reachathan now boasts a population of around 45,000, with many foreign merchants. The census records a population of 991,000. Buddhism is slowly losing ground in the far north and south, giving way to other religions, mainly Makanism and Islam. Our market has been increasingly used as a regional stop between the Malayan and Chinese markets, and so money has been pouring into the nation, though not on such a scale as Malaya. Due to this, some farmers from the countryside are moving into the cities for a better life as a merchant. Tensions start to ease up with the Siamese, as they share our concerns over Dai Viet.
  • Great Union of Korea and China: With instability in Giapan, military patrols in the Sea of Korea are strengthened. Meanwhile, a fleet of a hundred ships transporting about thirty thousand sailors are tentatively stationed in Dokdo, in case that the conflict unlikely spills over the Korea strait or if the Giapanois loyal to the moderate imperial government ask for aid (GIAPANOIS RESPONSE). Emissaries are sent to Russia (RUSSIAN RESPONSE?) warning not to intervene, while the Burgundians (DUTCH RESPONSE) are asked to provide only non-military aid (such as financial or humanitarian aid) such as as not to intrude in what is the Sino–Korean sphere of influence. In Indochina, an increasingly assertive Dai Viet is given permission to pursue its territorial ambitions in Champa (VIETNAMESE RESPONSE) , citing its higher status in the tributary state hierarchy. However, while Emperor does not mind the Vietnamization and eventual absorption of the Cham people, he declares that he will not tolerate a genocide. Emissaries are sent to Lan Xang, Cambodia, and Siam requesting not to intervene or prolong a potential conflict, or they may face dire penalties. With foreign merchants flocking to Kerala for tea, tea producers are told to focus on quality, not quantity. Furthermore, tariffs and protectionist policies are reduced, lowering prices. Noticing the influx of money brought by overseas trade, all ports are opened to trade. The government continues to construct industrial complexes aimed at augmenting the military-industrial sector, thereby consolidating state power. Internal commerce is promoted, with merchant guilds flourishing. Due to the rising demand in manufactures and luxury goods, and the rise in food supply (due to the implementation of modern agricultural techniques and usage of high-yield crops such as maize and potatoes), a division of labour is made. Many peasants and serfs shift from an agrarian lifestyle to work in the cultivation of cash crops (such as tea or cotton) and the the production of luxury goods (such as porcelain, silk, textiles).
    • Cambodian Dip: We are only concerned with the situation because of two reasons, a) We see the future Dai Vietan annexation of Champa as a threat to our sovereignty as an independent nation, and b) Cham refugees might flood Cambodia and collapse the government if a genocide occurs. We are assured that a genocide will not happen, due to the threat of your intervention, however, there is still a danger of our loss of sovereignity, especially since you are supporting Dai Viet. The King, on behalf of the Cambodian people, implores the Emperor of Korea-China to not allow Dai Viet to expand beyond Champa (Player Response Needed).
    • Korea–China reassures that the genocide of the Cham people won't happen (but will allow the Vietnamization/assimilation of said peoples).
    • Russia: The Russian Tsardoms interest in Asia is managed through then Russian Pacific Company, an offshoot of the Siberian Governate. Russia has been itching a little bit to get into the affairs and trade of East Asia, and the RTK is also on a quest for a warm water Asian port to operate out of. To simpily put it, the situation in Japan is a sovereign nation asking asking for assistance from Europeans in the region in there civil war and is not interested in a war with Korea. How we are attempting to handle the request for assistance from Japan was something in our eyes inevitable to happen. Our view in our interests is a "We help you, you give us something in return" situation. In this we are deciding whether to give arms (mainly cannons) in return for a possible warm water port in Hokkaido. We also have no plans of infringing upon Japans tributary status within the Chinese Asian Sphere.
    • Papal Dip: The Papal Nuncio to Korea-China thanks the Emperor for his solicitude for the Giapanois Christians, and earnestly exhorts him to do everything within his power to remove the ungodly Shogun from power.
  • Cologne: Archbishop Wulfrich is pleased with the new Holy Roman Emperor’s progress on the courts system, especially the fact that it is to be held in Cologne as a neutral zone, and appoints one of the most learned minds of the University of Cologne to be the Kolsch judge on the panel. The Archbishop is also concerned about potential unfairness of this court system and makes plans for a kind of legal school to be incorporated into the University of Cologne. There are very few academics in this new area thus far, but judges from the Court of Discipline and Holy German Tribunal contribute their basic knowledge to a small committee and begin to write books about their understandings of justice. Of particular import is the recent case of Elizabeth Bathory. Archbishop Wulfrich also invites representatives from other universities in other states of the Holy Roman Empire to join this committee and add their learned opinion to the debate about what fairness in the new system might look like. (Saxony, Prussia-Burgundy PLAYER response please; also MOD RESPONSE please for other relevant states like Austria) In conjunction with the HREmperor, Archbishop Wulfrich continues with the centralisation techniques in the HRE, and undermining of the “Protestant” power in the Northern German region by way of giving scholarships to young men and women to make themselves more educated and reject the illogical “Protestant” stance. Notably, the young people of several generations ago have grown up now and continue to hold the same beliefs.
    • Essen: New Abbess Anniken of Essen is thankful for the Pope’s safe return and makes sure to pray that he is never kidnapped again. However, it makes for a good story, and becomes legend amongst the Adelphinian Canonesses, some of whom are still working for the Papal States as missionaries in the Bishopric of St Peter in Brazil. In Hospitaller Arcadia, at least half of the canonesses that have newly joined up are Seminole people, and they are welcomed into the fold as the German canonesses continue to learn more things about the land in a symbiotic relationship. The education system continues quite effectively, with small spanners thrown into the works thanks to previous racial problems in Burgundian Arcadia. The Abbess of New Essen sends an envoy to English Arcadia offering to bring the aforementioned native-centric education system into their area, if they would like. (English Arcadia response, please) Meanwhile in Tondo, the canonesses continue to run hospitals and schools and universities, and expand their influence along with Tondo itself, slowly learning things about the land as they move across land. The Abbess of Tondo considers applying to the Abbess-General to have a more Tondoese-landscape-friendly design incorporated into the Adelphinian Canonesses’ habit. So far, however, she is yet to come up with an effective idea.
      • Saxon Diplomacy to Cologne: Saxony seeing straight through the veiled court as another instrument of Imperial Power withdraws from the justice system of the HRE and threatens to leave the HRE if their are any Imperial attempts to forces them to re-enter the HRE justice system. They strengthen their alliance with Poland and Scandinavia. They offer to rejoin the legal system. But, only if they are given a seat on the court.
    • Burgundy-Prussian Dip: Emperor William agrees to send representatives to join this committee.

  • Malaya: We begin growing banana plants and exporting them to Britain and Ireland. In the event that a Dai Viet invasion of Champa sends refugees swarming to our borders we set up a naval blockade in the Malaccan Straits as well as a blockade in the northernmost point of the kingdom. Rubber coated wheels become more popular, especially in city centers. They are seen as fashionable and efficient compared to the wooden cart wheels. This increases the rubber industry by a considerable amount. Peppercorns are introduced to the mainland via transplantation, and grown into cash crops there's exporting the spice to other nations. Milk is imported from Korea-China and manufactured into cheese in cool underground cellars, which is then exported. We continue to move inland in Borneo.
  • Lan Xang:  Malayan and Cambodian support for Champa is welcomed. Our troops remain in Champa, and the God King visits Champa and builds a residence there. Diplomacy to Burgundy via Champa: We request your support for champa, as your protectorate, malaya is supporting it. We offer a favorable reward. (Burgundy response)
    • Burgundian Dip: Deciding a refugee crisis would do much to disrupt the South China Sea trade routes, and thus the involved economies, the Burgundian East India Company agrees to back the Indochinese states.
    • Lan Xang: to express gratitude for the aid, we increases the luxury of the papal missionary housing complexes in our cities.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot :We make our first saddles with leather that are made to ride elks easier also some smiths begin to make decoration for elk horn.We also get even better iron armour that can hold all bronze weapons its also made where the breast plate is actual combination of mail where arms are mail and shoulders are plate and then you got three plates near the stumach with on the sides mail again this is made to have a good fight defending against most native weapons
    • Iberian Diplomacy to Mzerka: With the influence of the Portuguese language and Iberian culture on Mzerka evident, Iberia offers a formal alliance to cement relations between the two states. Under the terms of the alliance, Iberia will aid Mzerka in times of war and hardship, but Mzerka will also be obliged to provide military support when needed. Another long-term goal is spreading the Christian faith to Alta Califórnia, so Iberia will also be granted permission to found missions on the coast, control of which will be shared between the Catholic orders (Papal States) and the Iberian Crown. The diplomat representing the Iberian Crown makes it clear that no weapon sales will occur unless these terms are accepted.
    • Mzerkan diplomacy to Iberia. We will accept these terms but we ask to get a part deal for the land and borders so wee do accept all except the missions and we wish more talks and a treaty.
  • Poland: While the new Tsar is inexperienced he makes up for this is spirit and tactical acumen. He is young and has no battlefield experience. But, he is a tactical genius and able to inspire his troops on the battlefield. He quickly begins to rebuild his army and with money from their ally Saxony they purchase more weapons and proper equipment. Also, Saxony sends 500 military advisers of their professional army to speed up training of the polish army. The Polish troops are then concentrated in the areas demanded to be ceded and forts are built in these areas. However, Poland is open to diplomacy and offers to cede the Danzig Corridor in exchange for East Prussia and a defensive pact against Russia. Poland asks Scandinavia and Saxony to join a coalition to help protect us from Russia if war breaks out(Player response needed). The new tsar asks if Belka would like to start a new relationship and build friendly ties(Player response needed).
  • English Arcadia:' our fifth governor, Oliver Cornelius comes to power. We also start rapid expansion into OTL Georgia, wanting to cut off the Florida peninsula from the rest of the continent.
  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: The East Indian Company continues to train the Army of Islamic India as a professional line infantry force. The Indian grammar schools continue to teach and expand to accept more students. There is continued construction of bastion forts at Guddu and Modasa for defence. More Indians are brought over to Africa to settle in already held areas and some going to Arcadia as well. As banana nut bread becomes a staple diet in Ireland many bananas have to be brought over from English Honduras to quench the Irish hunger. Bananas still have to go through English ports currently. England has 5.9 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland one million people. Small amounts of migration to England from Scotland due to enclosures. Transport upgrades are pulled back for a few years as we make a series of repayments to China on the loan we took out. The agricultural revolution continues. Education in England is dominated by free grammar schools in towns and the universities of Oxford and Cambridge with both of the making a greater move to mathematics from previous subjects. The army remains small with 3000 men in Ireland, 2000 men in Scotland and 1000 in Wales and England each although militia acts allow the mass raising of a new army reasonably quickly and an additional 9000 troops are overseas with 6000 in Arcadia, 1000 in Haiti as well as 500 in St George, St Helena, New Canterbury and Bay of Kost. The fleet is divided with 150 ships stationed in Portsmouth and 150 ships stationed in Bristol. Privateer continues and trade with colonies in a triangular trade going through Africa.
  • Papal States: Pope Cornelius II is appalled by the sudden and violent turning of the Giapanois shogunate against the large catholic population. His Holiness qrites an encyclical entitled Ad Giapanum gentem exhorting the Catholic faithful to support their Giapanois counterparts with prayer and alms, as well as exhorting all rulers to assiste them, and offering closeness to the Giapanois Christians themselves. The Papal Nuncio to Korea-China exhorts the Emperor to do all he can to destroy the ungodly Shogunate. Missions continue in all the usual places.
A large gold, diamond, and the silver reserve is being designed to be the largest and most protected reseve in the world measuring 900 ft long and 600 ft wide and stands 450 ft high.  our nation continues to develop significantly and continues to become a large power in Southern Asia
  • Russia: The Danila Colony begins to expand across the island by the leader of the RTK, Fur Trapper Dimitri Bobrov. Several company ships begin to set up a small harbor in Danila. The Siberian Governate basically gives the RTK Free Reign in the Northern Pacific but with government authority. The Tsar decides to support the Christian emperor even though he is catholic. Bobrov is quoted to have said "Catholic is better than no Christian." Russia sends 500 artillery pieces to the Imperial army. Emissaries are sent to Japan to discuss a possible reward for Russian arms aid." With Poland appearing before Scandinavia, Russia offers Burgundy-Prussian an alliance (Guy Respond). The Tsar orders his troops to dig in, creating a series of trenches along the northeastern Polish border in response to Polish aggression. Some say a great Baltic war is coming. Orthodox priests begin to travel to Danila to convert the locals to Orthodox Christianity. Russian ships begin to form small outposts on the Aleutian Islands which begins the colony of Aleutia, formed by the RTK with permission from the Siberian Governate. An order of 50 more ships is presented to the ship companies of Riga and Feodorburg over a course of seven years to make a combined Baltic fleet of 155 ships. Fortifications are built up around Feodorburg and Riga.
    • Burgundy-Prussian Dip: the alliance is accepted.
Sewer plans begin to be drafted. More road has been laid. Standard Swahili has been developed and the Quran is translated into Standard Swahili. The clergy debates whether the Quran can be in multiple different languages in the future.
    • Sultanate of Qamar: Swahili merchants begin building more production facilities and help development.
    • Lakshadweep: The main island expands due to the sunken ships, and a small farm is built for nominal self-sufficiency.

Rum sacks Ayas, and kills the royal family of Cilicia. They begin to install governors to the region to absorb it in their nation.

Dai Viet invades Champa, and initially their armies clash as equal in power. Tondo continues their conflict with Dai Viet, cutting off their ability to utilize navy for a tactical edge.

Southern German states, following Austria, like Cologne's idea and attend the city. Northern German states, following Saxony, abstain.

Malaya genetically engineers the best bananas in the world.

The agricultural revolution in England spurs on the use of Banana Nut bread in Ireland.

Shaolin Buddhist monks in Burma begin honing their own form of self-defense protocol outside of the Bengal government.

The 20 Caliphate forces that landed in Norway are cut off from their homeland, unsure of what to do. They haphazardly begin attempting to claim the land in the name of Islam, fighting both the natives and wildlife.

  • Poland: Tensions between Poland and Burgundy are rising Meanwhile we dig trench systems along all territories our enemies desire to steal from us. We begin to mass produce the latest guns giving them to the military and citizens, and all towns are also ordered to form militias in case we are invaded. We mass produce other modern weapons as well. We have mainly been building forts all over the nation but our other infrastructure plans are going a little ahead of schedule due to aid from Saxony they should be finished in about a decade. We support our ally, Saxony and whatever decisions they and there ally's make within the HRE. Most Importantly we reach out to Britain and France for an alliance against Burgundy-Prussia(Player Response needed)
    • France agrees.
  •  Lan Xang: The God King delivers a touching speech. "Warriors and soldiers of Burgundy, Cambodia, Malaya, Siam, Bengal, and Lan Xang. Many of you will not return to see your families. I will not lie to you. This is a dangerous endeavor. However, we have support from a great naval power, burgundy, great allies such as bengal, Siam, Cambodia, and Malaya, our determination is so great that we may hold the lines, and never let Champa fall!"*Fighting begins. Vijaya is fortified, and Lan Xang works with burgundy to help modernize the defending force. A propaganda campaign is spread, mainly targeted at Cham. "Do not let these Dai Viet devils destroy your way of life. Better to fight to the death then let yourselves be forced into their fold." "Burgundy, Lan Xang, and the coalition has your backs! You can defend your homeland from the Dai Viet devils about to destroy your way of life!" Padurganga is also fortified in case the coalition must retreat from the capital.
  • Lan Xang Update: Seeing a fair amount of the defenensive coalition back out, the God King disguises all of our soldiers as Cham soldiers but continues arming Cham and training thier arming in secret. Open support will resume once Burgundy starts supporting it militarily. However the God King privately jokes about China's threats, saying that no country outside of Europe has been able to defeat burgundy, and how attacking Malaya will result in destroying China's tributary system and a "century of humiliation."
  • Great Iberia: Monterey and Santo António (OTL San Diego) both expand along the coast toward each other. The Tongva population is severely crippled by disease as a result of this. Baixa Califórnia expands along the peninsula. Maranhão expands inland along the Amazon. Iberia continues to assert its dominion over São Atto and the bay of OTL Ecuador, building new settlements in these areas. A new settlement is founded at Inhambane in East Africa. Having seen no action in India, the Iberian fleet sails from Vizagapatam to Sulawesi under command of Admiral Emanuel Cardoso, who is charged with securing the port of Makassar and "furthering Iberian interests in the East Indies". He arrives at Makassar early in the year and opens negotiations with the Sultan of Gowa, seeking an alliance against the growing power of the French (who are a great threat to the Sulawesi kingdoms) in return for granting Portugal a base in Makassar to conduct trading activities throughout the East Indies. Cardoso makes a point of displaying the size and armament of his fleet as proof of Iberia's ability to keep this agreement (Mod Response). Meanwhile, heavy taxes are imposed on Belkan traffic through the Strait of Gibraltar in an effort to reduce their influence beyond the Mediterranean.
    • Méxica: The colony expands northward, conquering the remnants of the Chichimeca people and setting a new border at the Rio Grande. The governor begins consolidating his territory by strengthening the defenses of Mexico City and rooting out corruption among his officials. A large influx of Castilian settlers arrive this year.
    • Iberian Diplomacy to Maian Separatists: After thirteen years of silence and sporadic fighting in the highlands, King Pedro personally offers to recognize Maiam's independence in what land they occupy, return their Pacific ports, renounce his claims on the area, and finally put an end to hostilities. The Mayans are expected to accept this treaty of good faith, as what remains of their country, now suffering from isolation and war exhaustion, would surely benefit from renewed trade with Iberia and Europe. (Mod Response)
    • Maiam Refuses, give us our homeland there is no substitute -Feud
  • Russia: We continue building up of fortifications along the Polish border, and in Riga and Feodorburg. Work on the navy continues. The RTK sends Nikolai Tuvov to map the western coast of Arcadia. His journey will begin in the Aleutians and take him to god knows where. Fishing communities and fur trappers made of small groups of settlers begin to arrive in the Aleutian chain, however most of the subjects of the Aleutia colony remain to be the Aleut natives. An armed expidition of 150 men is sent out form Danila to conquer the rest of the Island. After a month of figthing and 100 more men to reenforce the garrison conquers "Danila Island." More missions are sent out to the different islands to convert the populaces to Orthodoxy. Some outposts are established in the Cheondoryeol Islands claiming the rest for Russia. With the situation with Poland getting ever more tense a Russian officer rights in his diary claiming that the standoff is what he calls the "Cold War."
  • Cambodia: Seeing that a genocide can be prevented in Champa, King Chey Chetta III decides to lessen military contributions, but increase financial aid. In the end, only ~20,000 troops enter Champa to fight the Dai Vietans. However, precautions are still taken, like to fortification of the capital of Reachathan (around 60 km from the Champa border), as well as cities like Oudong and Phnom Penh. The Royal family is evacuated to Angkor for the time being. Seeing Korea-China will not be happy about our intervention, we decide to increase this year's tribute by 75%.
    • UPDATE: After Chinese "warnings", we pull out all troops from Champa, but increase fortifications on the Cham border. We also continue to secretly support them with financial aid and 2800 Khmer soldiers disguised as Cham soldiers.
  • Great Union of Korea and China: Following the Vietnamese invasion of Champa, Champa is expelled from the tributary system, and about twenty thousand levies are sent to aid their forces. The Emperor warns however, whilst the assimilation of the Cham people will be tolerated, an outright genocide will not. Emissaries are sent to Burgundy and the states of Indochina warning not to intervene under threats of expelling them from Macau and even Malaya (BURGUNDIAN RESPONSE). In Giapan, a group of a hundred naval vessels and fifty thousand sailors are amassed in Dokdo, in the middle of the Korea strait. The Emperor sends emissaries to the imperial court, awaiting the signal to intervene (GIAPANOIS RESPONSE). The court declares that no tributary state shall request any sort of military aid from a European state, unless it has received prior approval from the imperial court. To ward off perceived detrimental Burgundian interests in East Asia, naval patrols and drills are conducted in the South China Sea to intimidate them, and there are talks of revoking their lease over Macau and possibly transferring it to the British.
    • Burgundian Dip: the Burgundian ambassador to China informs the court that, while the EIC has yet to commit Company troops to Champa, its supplying of Champa is done in collective economic interest, as the fall of Champa to Dai Viet warlords would do much to upset the Indochinese trade routes, possibly leading to a depression in the region, and possibly instability in neighboring states. Thus, it's in everyone's interest for the status quo to be preserved.
  • Malaya: We acknowledge the unprovoked declaration of war from Dai Viet to Champa, and immediately condemn it. Due to what is perceived as threats from Korea-China, we do not engage in any full scale warfare yet, but instead cease all trade with Dai Viet in hopes of weakening them economically. Trade tax between Cambodia, Lan Xang and Champa is reduced, so they may have more money to combat Dai Viet. Successful breeding of the banana inspires the production of more "perfect crops". The kopi and peppercorn plants are extensively farmed and bred, with kopi bred into a plant with higher yield and more potent fruits, and the peppercorn has been bred into white and black peppercorns. Kopi is renamed to coffee due to this. Ships are sent to the Straits of Malacca where it will be blockades to prevent a spillage of Cham refugees in the event Dai Viet destabilises the region. Trade ships are not affected, but require identification. We begin recruiting personnel for the Navy, and our newly formed Royal Forces.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:We demand the tribes of:Okwanuchu,Achumawi and Atsugewi to join our Kingdom in the name of Christ or fear total Distruction(MOD RESPONSE)We also ask iberia for some sciencetists and to help us to get portuguese spread into my country. We ask them to also help us with technology and we ask for a deal where we can get Europeans guns.(player response)
  • Tsardom of Belka: The interveneing years following the intervention of Poland into Belkas civil war, Tsar Petar has finally stabilized the realm. With nearly 300,000 dead over a five year period population growth in Belka finally begins to resume after being stalled for nearly half a decade of civil war. The damage caused by the war has done a fair number on many territories of the empire however with the loss of many that were disgruntled with the Dracultesti complete, the Tsar begins a massive purge of the disloyal putting hundreds to the death by impaling and officially removing the traitors from the empire. Many other nobles who now see how intent Tsar Petar is on keeping the empire stable as well has the enormous losses he planned to take fighting the Polish and agree that his commitment to the empire and its foreward movement is something he has no doubt about. His willingness to throw waves of men against the Polish as well as hold the Johannists in a deadlock has given him the nickname "Stonewall" as a general. The economy begins to slowly recover and Tsar Petar pushes on fully rebuilding Belgrad as the first fully culturally and architectually and flly Belkan populated city.
As banana nut bread becomes a staple diet in Ireland many bananas have to be brought over from English Honduras and Haiti to quench the Irish hunger. Bananas still have to go through English ports currently. England has 6.0 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland 0.9 million people. Small amounts of migration to England from Scotland due to enclosures. Transport upgrades are pulled back for a few years as we make a series of repayments to China on the loan we took out. The agricultural revolution continues with more bananas and bread being made.
    • Polish Diplomat: We are being pressured by Burgundy-Prussia and seek you out for an alliance against a common foe. Saxony and France are already in this alliance and we are going to ask Scandinavia to join.
  • Electorate of Saxony: Saxony wanting a court, but not one puppeted by Austria and the Emperor declares the Princely Court and invites all HRE States to send judges (Mod and Players Response Needed). Meanwhile, the Cathedral of Saint Otto (The only Saxon soldier to die in the rescue of the Pope who died taking an arrow that would have hit the Pope had he not jumped in the way) and is slated to finish in 1685. Meanwhile, Saxony begins to continue her military technological research and possibly makes breakthroughs. (Mod Response Needed)
    • Papal Diplomacy: His Holiness is pleased to hear of the great faithfulness of the Saxons, which is taking shape in the form of the Cathedral. In a private letter (so as not to cause any public embarrasment), the Pope reminds his beloved son the King that canonising Saints is the purview of the Holy See alone. However having noted the clear devotion to the martyr Otto, and remembering personally how nobly he sacrificed his life for Christ's Vicar, the Pope says he will canonise him a Saint by the year's end.
  • Papal States: On the fourth anniversary of his release from heathen capitivity, the Feast of St Peter ad Vincula (popularly referred to as 'Thanksgiving Day'), Pope Cornelius canonises the Saxon soldier who sacrificed himself to save the Pope. Referring to him as a 'Martyr for the Church', His Holiness officialy canonises him as Saint Otto of Saxony, and names Thanksgiving Day his feast day. In other news: a special collection is collected throughout Italy this year for the suffering Christians in Japan. The Nuncio to Korea-China thanks the Emperor for doing his upmost to destroy the ungodly Shogun. In other news, more effort goes into combatting so-called 'protestantism' backed by the Scandinavians. Funds are given to Cologne to assist them in this important work, and German students are given scholarships to prominent Roman universities such as the Angelicum to give them the education they need to refute the so-called arguments of the so-called protestants. In Milan, the now-Cardinal Paulo continues his attempt to crack down on smuggling coming from the neighbouring March of Montferrat. Missions continue in the New World, in Korea-China, and Southern Africa.
    • Saxon Response: Saxony thanks the Pope for honoring their fallen heros and suggest forming the Faith Militant Order of Saint Otto in Saxony or the Fidem Order. With they being a faith order to combat heretics in the HRE and beyond. They ask for the blessing of the Pope and no more.
    • Papal Response: The Pope gives his blessing to the creation of the Order, and writes a personal letter praising their plans to oppose heresies, hoping they include opposing Scandinavia's attempts to impose 'Protestantism' on Northern Germany.
      B 3891

Purposed Symbol of the Fidem Order

  • Kingdoms of Burgundy, Prussia, and Bohemia: Emperor William overseas the inaugural session of the Imperial Chamber Court, or Reichskammergericht, in Cologne. With states such as saxony refusing to acknowledge the court, back by the HREs great powers (Burgundy-Prussia and Austria), totaling at least 85% of the Empires population, Emperor William issues a decree stating that any state that refuses to accept the authority of the court will be subject to repercussions, beginning with economic sanctions, and ultimately, if they prove too stubborn, will be declared an outlaw state and be subject to Imperial Ban. In Indochina, the Burgundian East India Company discreetly funds the Cham war effort, hiring some 20,000 mercenaries to fight the Vietnamese invaders (as the Company is short on authentic Burgundian Thalers, various Asian currencies are used to hire them).
    • Saxon Response: The Burgundian-Prussian-Bohemian Union only added fuel to the raging fires of disco ere the Andy before long radical members of Saxony's aristocracy were calling for independence. However, these were quickly silenced by more moderate voices like that of the Elector of Saxony. But, even the moderates were calling for more then just the Big Three to control the Imperial Court and for all German states to be given one seat so their is equal representation. Rather then just the most important HRE States. They also call for fellow German States to support them in this crusade for equal representation. However, they secretly offer to stop stoking the flames if they are given a sea to in the court. (Burgundy Respond)
    • Burgundy-Prussian Dip: giving every imperial state a seat on the court would be illogical (there are 300 imperial states). Austria and Burgundy-Prussia were chosen since, as they hold 85% of the Empires population, they naturally wield the most influence, and Cologne was chosen due to its universal respect among the Empires members and among the Empires multiple factions. And adding more states, especially to where the number is an even number, would threaten to cause deadlocks and increase bureaucracy, so a fifth member, perhaps from Bohemia, would need to be added.
    • Secret Saxon Response: They would agree to Bohemia getting a seat of the Court if they got a seat on the court.
  • Maghreb:Trade: We continue our trade with Europe and Africa as traders meet up in smaller city due to protest, The Maghreb also begins to try it hand at the spice and salt trade via selling more salt and spices, gold is slown down to prevent inflation. Government:Faruk works on improving the number of people (as the population stands at ten millio), he works on moving more people to Urban cities and demanding more framers to work. Badr is given Shura power and begins to set up schools, laws and things of that level. Rasfan is given more of a poetry and Scientific Advancement.  Current Event: The Sultan Faruk's Son (Hassan) goes again to Mecca, Damascus, Cairo and Aleppo and Mednia to work on improving relationships with the Emirates and work on the Islamic Union of Muslim Organization, as planing for possible plans in 50 years from a fall of government to newly added land. An invite is sent to Kartum, Baghdad and Riyadh. An invite to join the IUMO as an independent state of Balco to will work on both helping Muslims and trading with each other (MOD)
They also worked on a massive port. A fort is made in Dothan when 2000 men were sent there they set up a fortress named North.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. Wastage storage facilities begin to be built in the suburbs of Mogadishu. The road project is finished and Swahili is now connected by a highway. The clergy of Swahili decides that it should be allowed for the Quran to be read in different languages and sends an emissary to the Caliphate.
    • Sultanate of Qamar: The Sultanate adopts Standard Swahili as its official language.
    • Lakshadweep: A small garrison of 100 is stationed on the island.

Sulawasi signs an economic protection treaty with Iberia.

Russia's attempted conquest of Danila is stalemated by the native polar bears who claim the island.

Okwanuchu,Achumawi and Atsugewi form a confederacy to stop the Mzerka beserka.

Austria is supportive of Cologne's idea of a judicial council in Cologne, but does not recognize the Imperial Council of Burgundy. Austria uses its hegmony in the southern states to support its own supremacy. Bohemia is on the fence. This tension is most ignited by the Pope's friendly diplomacy with Saxony, leader of the anti-imperialists, which suggests a Papal dissatisfaction with the House of Burgundy.

Dai Viet makes some initial success in invading Champa, but the Cham forces consolidate to more defensible urban positions to prepare the second confrontation. The technological support from their economic partners is the main thing keeping the nation afloat.

A radical Makan priest named Le Nguyen preaches for the solidarity of the Cham people, and calls the Southeast Asian princes to help defend the state from Dai Viet. He cites that China irreverently lords over the region, and uses its economic prestigue as a tool to treat the princes as vassals at best, slaves at worst.

The isolated Caliphate forces attack a remote village in Norway, continuing to expand the enclave of Islamic Europe.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Economy and military improves; Jaffarids take more control. Trade continues through Gulangyu to China. Islam is spread to Malaya and Zulu by their trade and toleration of religion. The House of Wisdom still makes great ideas. Trade especially goes to Swahili, where we give them a bunch of good ideas for growing stuff and killing people, and growing people to kill stuff. We claim Norway as for the glory of the Caliphate.
  • Papal States: Realising he has unintentionally snubbed the Holy Roman Emperor, Pope Cornelius sends a special Nuncio to Cologne to voice his support for the Kolsch-led judicial council, and to exhort the other German states to recognise it. He also suggests that both Bohemia and Saxony be given seats on the court, given their not-insignificant size. A small, rather witty children's book appears in Roman stalls, which depicts the Islamic Caliphate of Norway in a humourous light. Similarly small, witty pamphlets for adults are produced which state that the Norwegian Caliphate is the inevitable result of Scandinavia's embrace of heresy. Cardinal Paulo begins building up Papal forces near the border with Montferrat. Missions continue in the usual places.
  • Bengal Sultanate| The Bengal Empire: Our nation changes its name from the Bengal Sultanate to the Bengal Empire. Our leader claims to be the successor of the last leader of Aryavarta which then changes his title from Sultan to Samrata (Emperor in Bengali). We continue to rebuild Burdagan by adding more farmland and supporting the spice and chocolate industry. Vanilla plantations are built across Burdagan and it has become a well known sweetener for a variety of foods. Our reserve is almost finished being built. The megaships have completed construction and are the most advance form of ship in all of the Indian Ocean. 42 megaships begin to be built this year and plan to be completed in the next one or two years. Education and modernization is highly invested upon leading to a booming amount of educational faclities being built across Burdagan, Burma, and Bhutan. In Mistri, New Pandestria and in New Sahammas, ports and education systems are expanded upon to make a better and more well educated population. 23 ships are built in total aly common in th region. Our government also begins to concentrate on controlling inflation over our Gold and Silver takhas. Several more towns are built across Padrina. We support the private self defense program established by the Bhuddist of Burma due to it possibly reaching out to more Buddhist in Burma. We concentrate in expanding in our military as well by recruiting 31,000 people. Due to the ever so worsening situation for our neighbor Champa, we send them guns and cannons with pounds of gunpowder and allow them to use 30 of our warships if necessary. We also continue to expand Islam in Burdagan.
    • Banten: We expand our agricultural skills by growing coffee and vanilla. We also start to grow mangoes in plantations. Market places are established in the most densely populated regions of the state. Ports and Shipyards are built along the coastal regions to expand on trading with our trade partners for goods. Newspaper companies start to give out the local news.
  • Great Union of Korea and China: The Emperor sends his wife, the Empress consort, to tour Tartary, bringing a group of scholars to study its culture and its local religious beliefs. Meanwhile, about fifty thousand soldiers are sent to Dai Viet to aid their conquest of Champa. To reassure to stability of the region, Korea–China offers to send engineers to Cambodia to aid the fortifications of their eastern flanks in order to ward off any Cham incursions (CAMBODIAN RESPONSE). Furthermore, the Emperor promises to provide humanitarian aid to displaced Chams, even if they are supporting the Vietnamese effort. In order to counter the spread of Makanism, thousands of Buddhist missionaries are dispatched across Indochina. Furthermore, financial support is given to radical Buddhist organizations to entice anti–Makanist sentiment. Miao mercenaries are discreetly sent to Lan Xang to assassinate Le Nguyen and several high-ranking clergymen (MOD RESPONSE). In response to Burgundian intervention, their lordship over Macau is revoked, and it is reabsorbed into the surrounding Guangdong province. Two hundred naval vessels are dispatched to the South China Sea to protect Sino–Korean interests and to reaffirm dominance. Emissaries are discreetly sent to France via the French East Indies and to England via Hong Kong island, offering further preferential trading deals (and allowing them to assume control over Burgundian territories in the East) should they inflict damage on Burgundy proper, thereby stomping on their ability to project power east (FRENCH RESPONSE, BRITISH RESPONSE). Fulfilling the promises he made to the Pope, the Emperor sends a hundred naval vessels and fifty thousand sailors are sent to cross the Korea strait from Dokdo, in order to intervene on behalf of the imperial-royalist faction in Giapan (MOD RESPONSE).
    • Lan Xang Dip: The New God King with a Pro China policy calls on Korea-China to stop destabilizing his country. He says they cannot succeed, as radical Buddhists at this point are less than 5% of the population, with most Buddhists being peaceful. He also shows China severed heads of the Miao assassins.
    • OCC Lan Xang: Nguyen does not reside in Lan Xang, he resides in either Dai Viet or in exile in Champa.
    • Korea OOC: Notice the "MOD RESPONSE"
  • Lan Xang: The God King dies of natural causes, and a new one God King Sengprachanh succeeds him. He announces a pro China policy. He makes the state ideology cofuncian, however keeping Makanist propaganda. An envoy is sent to China calling for it to stop the destabilization of Lan Xang, as it is now pointless. (China Response). Troops are withdrawn from Champa. Tribute is increased. The God King also calls Le Nguyen a false Makanist, due to his violent ideology, which is anti Makanist.
    • Hmong Heavenly Princedom (vassal): The Chinese Miao and radical Buddhists are slaughtered by the Hmong Makanists, who violate Makanisms normally peaceful rule, due to the fact they are trying to destabilize Lan Xang. This is not religiously motivated. They are beheaded and suffer painful deaths. However, the new God King protests this, as he is now pro China.
  • Malaya: We continue to provide economic support to Champa, and do not get involved militarily. Peppercorns and dried coffee fruits are exported to other nations. In order to support the belligerents against Dai Viet, all relations with Dai Viet are cut and weaponry, armour and supplies are sold to said nations at a lower cost. We send a few emissaries to Korea-China, bearing the message that states "Korea-China-Malaya relations will not deteriorate due to this conflict, but we will continue to support the option that does not risk destabilising Southeast Asia.", as well as some spices, bananas and dried coffee fruits to display our good intentions. (Korea-China Response Needed) Rural infrastructure is upgraded, and we promote domestic trading to improve the economy which took a hit from cutting all trade with Dai Viet. We continue to expand into North Borneo.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot: Amadeus Diltwa makes in the capital of Mzer a speech where he says "If the babarian Pagan brutes will not surrender and accept the ideal of Christ then we shall make them surrender with an force greater then seen before on these lands"and also Diltwa makes this note "I believe we should build a monument for the comrades that have fallen in the civil war for Christian ideals "We ask our Dear European Ally to help us aid the war against the pagans by giving us guns and some clothing (Iberian Player response) and in return we will help iberia with their future wars so long as it doesn't hurt my nation.
  • Tsardom of Belka: The Tsardom in particular remains on the road to recovery following the civil war still eliminating pockets of Johannist resistance. Surprisingly a small force of nearly 2000 Polish troops still at camp in the Vlach province near Oured. Surprised as to their survival and resilience the Tsar offers these survivors "peace with honor". Surprisingly they accept but generally in the face of nearly 30,000 of the Tsars veteran western army they surrender. However while a few return home nearly 1500 of the polish troops stay in Belka and are given residence in some of the depopulated regions around Belgrad. The City of Belgrad has also seen great growth and its rebuild has also seen the attraction of many high level nobles, merchants, and others who are keen on the idea of Belgrad as the first true "Belkan" city. Its architectual wonders are celebrated as "Belkas Baroque" finally abandoning the Bulgaro-Greek hybrid which developed with the rebuildings of Tarnovo and Vasiligrad. The city is built to be larger and its internals are gutted to be more open to more traffic and many of its burned out husks of buildings are ripped apart and replaced. The City after its nearly two years of contruction become very apparent to the Tsar that it will Rival Vasiligrad the empire longtime capital and in a stunning move to many including very many discontented Belkan serbians who show up in force to great fanfare as the Tsar names Belgrad the Winter capital intending to turn this city into a shining example of Belkas resilience, cultural legacy, and unity. The cities perfect situation on the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers leave it a powerful trade city, and the removal of so much useless parts of the city has allowed a more practical approach to be taken in rebuilding the city. Tsar Petar specifically invests a huge chunk of his own personal funding in the creation of many memorials, and monuments in the city specifically a large statue of Tsar Vasili-Kaloyan the great leader which liberated the last footholds of Islam from Europe, as massive focal point of all the various Belkan peoples of which all were subject to the islamic conquest of the ottomans. The opening of the main city center in Belgrad is met with chants of "Belka, Belka, Belka" as it signifies the true end of the civil war as well as the commitment of the imperial order to all peoples of the empire. With so much fanfare to this, the Tsar announces a plan for his reign to begin the rebuilding or restructuring of many of the cities in the empire to be more modern and end the condensed overcrowded state many are in. This is started however in Croatia specifically in Zadar and Croatia to foster some comraderie between Croatians and the other Belkan populaces.
  • Poland: We have our entire army spread throughout all desired territories from our enemies, we continue to dig trench and build makeshift forts within the desired territory. We continue to mass produce as many weapons as possible. Militias all fortify towns across the countryside. We also have our allies France and Saxony supporting us. But we have not given up diplomacy we are only defending ourselves in case a war breaks out. We offer you several options for peace.

Option 1: You annex disputed territories, but must agree to three demands. Demand 1: Poland keeps control of the corridor. Demand 2: Poland receives all economic output from annexed territories. Demand 3: Russia and Burgundy-Prussia terminate their alliance.

Option 2: We keep the land but we give you money.

Option 3: We sign a 25 year non-aggression pact.

  • We have changed out mind, and Option One is no longer on the table.
  • Russia accepts Option One.
The emirate allie Ona Khannate goes to war with anoikenk (with Tajjamad support) with the new 15,000 men, the invasion starts with a sea invasion of Rio Gallegos (7,000)and Punta Arenas (8,000) the area is quickly put under Tajjamid control as the army. • Electorate of Saxony: Saxony continues in its endeavor to get a seat on the imperial court. They told their fellow anti-Imperial court states that all who support Saxony in their quest for a seat on the court will be allowed to vote on how Saxony uses its vote in the court. The Saxons tell the Imperial Government that they will stop if they and Bohemia are given seats on the council. Otherwise they will continue to stoke the fires of discontent and rebellion among the nobles. (Burgundian Response Needed) Meanwhile, the Cathedral finishes construction and is a magnificent sight to behold. They invite a Cardinal or Bishop to come from a Rome to staff their new Cathedral and to act as grand master of the new Order Fidem. (Papal Response Needed)
    • Burgundy OOC: you've been given a seat, I've already updated it accordingly.
    • Saxony Update: After being given a seat on the court and having their demands filled. They stop stirring the flames and tell their associates to stop. Thus, as soon it had begun the HRE situation is over. But, they threaten to start these flames again if Prussia invades Poland and suggest that Saxony and Burgundy unite to put Austria back in its place and weaken their Hegemony in the south.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The army begins convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. The sewer project begins in Swahili. We guess its fine to read the Quran in different languages now. Sebastian Chatnoir, descendent of Aadrian Chatnoir, becomes governor of Hong Kong.

Le Ngyun is murdered in a public street. Although the radical Makan was short-lived, Le is seen as a martyr by most Makanis in the region. Makan spreads among the population of Indian SE Asia, displacing native Gunterism, although is stopped from spreading into China due to their Buddhist efforts.

Dai Viet continues succesfully against Champa, but its efforts are still slow due to the outside support Champa receives.

Japan is back to normal, and thanks its supporters.

A book is published in Krakow titled "Observations on the Absolute Rule in Belka and the Shared Rule in Poland".

The natives of OTL Dutch harbor immediately attack Russia's settlements, not appreciating their death threats.

The Caliphate troops in Norway are wiped out by a bear attack.

Rum sacks Aydin. What now.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Military and Economy improves. Jaffarids continue to take over the Ulema and influence the Caliph. Norway is a tragic loss, but oddly expected. Trade is continued eastward to China through Gulangyu. Cyprus continues to dominate Mediterranean stuff with pirates. The House of Wisdom is also great. The greatest efforts this year are diplomatic. The Ulema extends trade with Swahili to exchange military technology, as well as train them in modern military tactics. The Sharrif of Mecca helps to establish Morocco's Islamic Organziation. The Caliph orders Rum to not expand too much using his authority as Caliph. 11,000 troops are loaned to Morocco for the purpose of expanding Islam in the New World, and more are promised when the funds are collected. Trade is sent to the Zulu to help establish them and spread Islam in South Africa.
    • Maghreb Dip: The Sultan Faruk damns the Caliph telling him is he for the Europeans or for us?A letter is sent to Rum telling them that they would like to support them in arms dealing (MOD
    • Swahili Dip: We accept the Caliphate's offer of technological exchange and sends a brigade of the Royal Guards, as well as Swahili ships, cannons and firearms.
  • Russia: Tsar Feodor dies with his last words being "Avenge Russia my son." The militarist, and fervent pro-Prussian, Pyotr takes the position as Tsar. In his portrait, he refuses to wear standard orthodox garb, and takes on a green army uniform with a sword and map on a carriage. He marches 120,000 troops to the border, demanding the deal with Poland be fulfilled. He begins to train 60,000 as profession "shock troops" to punch through Polish defensives. 20 ships is sent to blockade "Gdansk" until Lithuania is handed back over to Russia.  Nikolai Tuvov returns to Danila from his mapping expedition. Tuvov speaking to Bobrov declares the area he found (southern Alaska) to be proclaimed as Novorossiya. A Priest by the name of Mikhail travels to the native peoples offering the word of Jesus Christ to them. He tells the natives they can live in peace, as long as they accept Russian territorial rule over the land (Mod response for the Indians).
    • Polish diplomat: We are still open to diplomacy.
  • Maghreb:Trade: We continue our trade with Europe and Africa as traders meet up in smaller city due to protest, The Maghreb also begins to try it hand at the spice and salt trade via selling more salt and spices, gold is slowing down to prevent inflation. Government:Faruk works on improving the number of people (as the population stands at ten millio), he works on moving more people to Urban cities and demanding more framers to work. The IUMO is sent to starts talks in Mecca over recent comments about Rum and backup plans in case of a fall of the Caliphate, planing for possible plans in 50 years from a fall of government to newly added land. An invite is sent to Kartum, Baghdad and Riyadh. An invite to join the IUMO as an independent state of Balco, nthe deal only covers the work on both helping Muslims and trading with each other (MOD).

      • Rashidun Dip: We are doing fine and are not falling. Rush these rumors child.
  • Cambodia: We accept China's help with the fortifications. The royal faily is moved from Angkor back to Reachathan, as we are no longer an active war participant. Meanwhile, life in Cambodia takes a turn for the ordinary, as we are not at war anymore. We will accept limited amounts of Cham refugees (around 3500 per three months). Our population now numbers one million, mainly due to the influx of Malay and Chinese traders (around 8% of the population is now ethnic Malay). Some of the Radical Buddhists residing in Southern Cambodia have taken to ethnic violence against Malays in Kampot, this causes King Chey Chetta III to make a proclamation saying that "All ethnic groups are legal in Cambodia". However, the Radical Buddhists show no signs of letting up, and normal Cambodian citizens are concerned that the racist and evangelical radical Buddhists might tear the country apart by their attacks on Makanists, Muslims, and Malays, and pressures the King to use the army to take care of them. So far, the King has not responded. We continue to secretly help Champa.
    • Lan Xang Diplomacy: Our new neutral God King will take in Cham refugees that come into Cambodia. He says Lan Xang can always have a boost in population, much like how it took in Hui Muslims, solely to improve the economy and boost population. He states that while the previous God King was guided correctly religiously, he had a flawed foreign policy.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:We attack the Okwanuchu, Achumawi and Atsugewi tribe with iberian guns and with knights on elks to be precise 10,000 soldiers attack them.Amadeus Diltwa makes Portuguese the official state language. We also ask the vatican to help aid the conversion of pagan tribes(Player response).
    • Iberia to Mzerka: We reiterate that the sale of guns will not be considered until Mzerka accepts the full terms of the treaty.
    • General could you please look at the next turn thank you
  •  Lan Xang: The new pro China government tries to help the situation in Champa by accepting Cham refugees, none more, no military aid. The hui migrant minority converts more ethnic Lao people. The radical Buddhists often attack the hui, but they are protected by the Makans and moderate Buddhists. The Hui spread Sino Islamic architecture into Lan Xang. They also are becoming satisfied with their new life in Lan Xang, and don't feel like leaving back to China. However, they do hope for Lan Xang to become an Islamic nation, and their spread of religion is being helped by the Makan's religious tolerance. [diplomacy to China: in the Mekong Delta, we propose a Khmer occupied Cham "safe zone" to stop the flow to too many refugees into Cambodia, and because the Mekong will be the hardest part to Vietnamize.]
    • Hmong Emirate: Due to Hui refugees fleeing into the North and spreading Islam there, much of the Hmong have been converted to Islam. Ahmed Pao is Emir of the Hmong. Most Hui migrate further South into the cities however some stay as Imans to Islamize the Hmong. Ahmed Pao continues to pay tribute to the God King, and the God King tolerates the Emirates existence, as it has a small population. The Mosque being constructed in the mountains are in the Chinese style of architecture.
  • Malaya: The Royal Guard is further beefed up with an additional 3000 troops, but still overshadowed by the Royal Navy. Banana plantations are established in Sabah. We continue to block trade with Dai Viet, while making up for the loss in income by lowering the sales tax to attract more traders. We agree to allow Cham refugees to escape to Malaya, but at a limited rate to prevent destabilisation. We begin exporting rubber to nations.
  • Karnad:The Kollam port is used as major port for the export of tea. The government helps the tea planters by providing money. More tea plantations come up as profits from tea plantations skyrocket. Kollam expands and becomes a hub of trade and mercantile activity. The export of tea brings large amounts of money to the treasury. The asministrative system continues to wrok effeciently an effectively. A large number of printing presses are established across the nation. Collections of old folk tales and epics are sold widely as writers come up with novels. Land clearance continues especially in Kerala to make way for plantations and the cultivation of spices. Many landless farmers are employed in the plantation or are given land in the newly cleared areas. The feudal system in Kerala slowly starts to erode. The popularity of the Dakshini language and script keeps increasing due to its simplicity. The government also provides money to landless farmers to set up milch cattle and poultry farms. There is an increase in the consumption of meat and eggs. Coconut, tea, oilseeds, coffee, cashew, areca nut, ginger, rubber, wood and spices — including cardamom, clove, chilis bananas, pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, cotton, tobacco, sugarcane, raw silk and nutmeg — are cultivated and exported in large quantities. A large number of fisheries produce seafood and provide livelihood to the people on the coast. Iron ore mines and gold mines are opened up in the Kannada area.
    • Meluakam|Balochistan: Irrigation projects are fruitful and help in the establishment of farms. As most natives in Meluakam are tribal people and are thus disconnected, these farms are mainly operated by people from Karnad. Landless farmers from Karnad start moving to Meluakam in large number because of the provision of free land, money and to escape the oppressive feudal system. At the ned of this year, there were 300,000 people from Karnad in a population of one million natives. As a result the Dakshini language starts to spread. Coal and Copper mines open up in Meluakam. A large number of natives are employed in these mines. Roads are constructed and the natives begin to settle down.
    • 'How have 300,000 people migrated from Karnad to Balochistan after only seven years? -General
    • By providing economic opportunity by promising the landless peasants land and wealth. ~Warrior
  • Poland: We are still open to diplomacy with Russia and continue to negotiate through the year. Our infrastructure plans continue to come along slightly ahead of scheduled due to foreign aid. For defense Poland continues to build up its military for defense purposes. We also have all our troops and citizens ready for if an invasion occurs.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The army begins convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. We start selling contracted servants as we task the army to convince them. As trade intensifies after the Conference of Beyrut, the translation of the Quran into Standard Swahili, the construction of the road and sewer systems, Swahili Culture Development reaches a high point as architecture, literature, art and music flourishes.
    • Sultanate of Qamar: Roads are being laid in Qamar.
    • Lakshadweep: A larger port is built on the island.

1687[]

Rum invades Osman to annex the state, ending the dynasty's de jure claim over the region.

Pontus asserts its independence to invade Sivas.

Islam and Makan grow in Lan Xang, with much overlap due to pluralism in the nation.

Karnad rivals Bengal for its economic output from India.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Jaffarids improve the economy, and modernize the military. Trade increases in China through Gulangyu, hoping to push out the previous Dutch influence since they lost Macau. Religious and political influence is greatly welcomed by the Ulema from Morocco, in an attempt to dislodge the influence of the Jaffarids. The Ulema, proud of the cultural advancements in Swahili, asks that Swahili submit its request through the proper channels to the Maktab Al-Qudds before publishing a translation of the Quran, as any book not in Arabic can not be an authorized Quran according to the Hadith.
  • Bengal Empire:  Our nation invest heavily on Infrastructure and economic output to outrival Karnad which has proven to be quite successful with Spices, herbs, bananas, chocolates, mangoes, coconuts, vanilla, peppers, nuts and vegetables. Also we produce more cloth and high grade silk. These have been produced in high quality these last two years. The largest reserve in the world has completed construction and gold and silver plus diamonds have begun to be stored inside the facillity and is well protected with hundreds of guards and managers of the facillity. Farms have become more common in Burdagan with several mines being built. These mines will be used to produce gold, silver and copper. Rubber has also become a popular product in Bengal leading to competitions between rubber quality and popularity to produce the best rubber products. Our Educational System has begun to adjust more towards French and English teachings with books being copied and distributed to scholars, children and adults to educate the public. The Newspaper industry continues to boom. Bhutan has developed into a hub for mining as more gold pocets have been discovered leading to thousands of pounds of gold to be excavated and half of it had been sent to the reserve. Padrina has continued to develop agriculturally in Southern Africa with Vanilla and Coffee being the main exports with the merchant and shipping industry growing. The native tribal people have slowly begun to be absorbed into the Bengal population and the colony expands westward 6px. We begin to support the free states of India with tech and agricultural development for the far western states while the border states have been sent a request to join our nation for the greater good of their chances in having a self sustaining territory and developed one with high economic outputs which should make them rich overall. due to this propaganda spreads across the area being supported by our government in order to unite the northern states of India. We hope to have a response by the leaders of the surrounding states (MOD Response). Sewers and canals are built across Burdagan as well to increase the level of sanitation. Roads have also been built to increase trade. Four high class universities are also constructed to teach students that have showed the potential to be apart of "the well off" population. We continue to support Champa and send over 18,000 troops in secrecy disguised as cham troops. Other surrounding colonies under our control are developed further with more ships being built there. Our military these last two years increase by 56,000 troops and 45 ships also are built for the navy.
    • You can't farm half of the things I have mentioned and definitely not rubber. Look up the economies of your constituent units. -Drake
    • Actually you are wrong as I did my research and also everything I am growing occur naturally in my territory that I own and that includes rubber. We are on the same sub-continent and most of the things you have I have so if anything our crops and other natural resources can be grown excluding The minerals and metals as I have more mines then you do and more potential for producing more gold and etc.- Adolf Coffee(Orlando)
    • They reject because of cultural and religious differences with Bengal. -scraw
  • Lan Xang: Many people suspected that the radical Buddhists would attempt a coup, but this was stopped when in the north, the Hmong Emirate invaded the rest of Lan Xang, and attempted to get the throne of the nation. The Hui sided with the Hmong, as well as Lao Muslim converts. They begin force converting people. They send in assassins to kill the God King, which succeeds. However, much of the South is help by the Lan Xang Liberation Front, a Makani-Christian-Buddhist alliance. Lan Xang Liberation Front Diplomacy to China: we request help in retaking the homeland from the Muslims. (China response). The expedition to retake the North begins, with the Lan Xang Liberation Front armed with more advanced Korean-Chinese weapons.
    • Korea–China sends weaponry to the Lan Xang Liberation Front in order to eradicate Hui rule.
  • Papal States: Pope Cornelius writes a grateful letter to the Emperor of Korea-China, thanking him for all his work helping the Catholics in Giapan, and sends a gift of a Gold Rose, as well as some of his personal funds to assist the effort. Cardinal Paulo sends the March of Montferrat an ultimatum: stop the smuggling activities emanating from their country or face punishment [MOD Response please]. The Immaculata martyred by the Zulus are beatified. Missions continue in Korea-China, Giapan, the New World, Southern Africa, and Lan Xang
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot: We attack the pagan tribes and we will spare all enemy troops who convert to Christianity. We also build a Big cathedral in Diltwa Wituye this building is made so Christian missionaries can get recources to go to pagan land and convert them to Christian ideals this building is at the moment small but we ask Iberia to get missionaries architects to build Christianity bigger and to actually make the building European styled (Iberia response)
    • Iberian Diplomacy: While the Iberian missionaries cannot afford any elaborate architecture, they settle for a modest structure from which they direct their efforts into the Mzerka interior. A second mission is also founded on the coast, and the Mzerka are encouraged to move into these settlements to be converted and educated. The sale of weapons is also opened to the Mzerka, albeit in short supply (if they wish to buy any).
    • Mzerka Dip to Iberia: We would like to buy Iberian guns for so much as possible but we do ask Iberia to have their missionaries send the message from our cities.
  • Great Iberia: King Pedro continues centralizing the realm under the House of Braganza, consolidating the island of Corsica and promoting the Portuguese language throughout the mainland and Mediterranean holdings. Portuguese is now spoken as a native tongue in Granada, Galicia, and parts of Castile, Valenica, and León. His son, João, reaches the age of 18 this year, and appears to be even more supportive of these policies than his father. Iberia continues to assert its dominion over São Atto and the bay of OTL Ecuador, building new settlements in these areas. Mêcicipi expands southward and inland into OTL southern Texas. Inhambane receives more settlers. High taxes continue to be levied on Belkan traffic in the Strait of Gibraltar. Eager to replace Burgundy's presence in China, Portuguese merchants begin moving into Chinese ports on the southern coast. Iberia requests a trade agreement with the Jin Dynasty to allow the merchants legal trading rights in some of its cities. With the acquisition of Makassar, Iberia begins profiting from the East Indies trade. The fleet and army are returned to Lisbon, with the exception of 12 ships. Finally, owing to Maiam's stubborn refusal to make peace, a new campaign is launched against the rebels, seeing no other option. Colonial forces close in from Nova Lusitânia and Yucatán, supporting the main army of 38,000 formed mostly of veterans from previous engagements. The commanders make use of uncommon tactics, especially generous use of artillery in battle. The local population of Maiam is encouraged to defect, claiming their ruler's desire to prolong the war and reject any negotiations is caused by personal greed at the expense of his own people.
    • Monterey: The colony is again nearly lost after an attack by Indians from the north, wiping out a quarter of the colonial population along with the governor. The new hastily elected governor decides to go on the offensive, leading the colonial militia north along with his own native allies to punish those responsible (deemed to be the Ramaytush, Chochenyo, and Tamyen). During the expedition, he stumbles upon San Francisco Bay, naming it Indian Bay. The colonists do what they can to rebuild in absence of their governor.
    • Baixa Califórnia: A road is built across the length of the southern part of the peninsula, connecting all the various settlements in between. The colony continues to expand north, though at a slower pace due to the harsh environment.
    • Korea–China agrees, leasing Macau (a former Burgundian enclave) to the Spanish.
  • Malaya: We declare our support for the Lan Can't Liberation Front, and provide supplies for the cause. This does not mix well with some of the more radicalised Muslims, and civil strife occurs in certain areas, predominantly Muslim that want to establish am Islamic government. The Royal Guard is sent to quell these uprisings, and the Queen assures the rest of the Muslim population that "this is not about religion. This is about men wanting to be in power. Do not let tyrannical people dictate you". The Queen begins making frequent visits to public areas, mixing with the lifestyles of the lower classes.
As banana nut bread becomes a staple diet in Ireland many bananas have to be brought over from English Honduras and Haiti to quench the Irish hunger. Bananas still have to go through English ports currently. England has 6.1 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland 0.9 million people. Small amounts of migration to England from Scotland due to enclosures. Transport upgrades are pulled back for a few years as we make a series of repayments to China on the loan we took out. The agricultural revolution continues with more bananas and bread being made. With tensions subsiding over the Imperial Court, Emperor William issues a second decree, affirming the Courts authority over the Imperial States, and defines punishment for member states rejecting or ignoring the Courts decisions as being labeled an "outlaw state", and subject to an Imperial Ban.
  • Cambodia: Nothing of note.
  • Russia: In the west, Tsar Pyotr has a vision while he's dreaming, and he concludes that the way to take Lithuania back with a better causus beli would be to wait for a general European war to break out. The Tsar meanwhile begins to tour his Prussian ally, studying architecture, and the military. Pyotr also arrives in Amsterdam to observe ship building. In the East the Aleut Islands are placed under the Russian banner. Danila island is conquered. Nikolai Tuvov with 300 men set up a settlement called Cinigrad (OTL Kasilof, Alaska). Montefferat denies all knowledge of these activities.

The Lan Can't Xang Liberation Front is supported by Makan throughout SE Asia.

In response to the matriarchal society in Malaya, a novel is published in France describing a utopian view of this culture, and how incredible fit and beautiful the women of Malaya are for their domination over the nation.

Both the states bordering Gujarat agree to trade in the British East India Company, but only economically.

An earthqake hits Ankor Wat, killing 150 people.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Jaffarid Sultanate continues to modernize the Caliphate, keeping the technology on part with European military technology and tactics. The Caliphate is doing just fine, thank you for asking. Trade in the west mostly goes through our partners France and Belka. Trade continues going through China to Gulangyu, as well as selling technology to Swahili and Bengal. MIssionaries are sent into central Africa to support our friends in Zayiyr. Having just recently crushed the False Caliph in Persia, the Ulema writes up a document charging any false claim to be the Caliph with the highest degree of heresy. The Islamic Union is very popular in Mecca and Jedah, but no farthern north. Economic support is sent to Muslims abroad. For now, the Maktab Al-Qudds authorizes the Swahili Quran as an accurate translation, but does not authorize it for use on Friday Prayer.
  • Lan Xang: The Lan Can't liberation front fights off the Islamic armies led by the Muslim Hmong Ahmed Pao at Salavan. Lan Can't liberation front counterattacks, seizing much of the south. Ahmed Pao takes elite unites and shiny armored war elephants, and decides to crush the Lan Can't's liberation front advance. However, in a climatic battle, Ahmed Pao is killed by Maik Phommajack on horseback duel. Phommajack secures the north soon after. Elections are now held, Lan Can't is now a theocracy. Phommajack is elected God King, however the nation has a large Islamic and Christian minority along with the Makanis and Buddhists. God King Phommajack delivers a touching speech. "I don't care if you are Makanist, Buddhist, Christian, or Muslim. The time is now to make Lan Can't great again. Praise Makan and may Jesus and Buddha touch you in your lives!" Also, Lan Can't pays tribute to China. God King Phommajack roasts Cambodia hard, joking how they have recently been having "Nothing of Note, until this earthquake made it relevant."
    • Cambodian Dip: Recently coronated King Bonaphum roasts Lan (Can't) Xang back, saying that "Your Liberation front is literally called 'Lan Can't'! How do you expect to win your liberation war without changing your name?"
    • This joke only works in English. -scraw
  • Cambodia: The province of Angkor is immediately put into martial law, in case any radical Muslims or Buddhists see opportunities to attack in this chaos. 25,000 volunteer workers are dispatched to affected areas to rebuild Angkor Wat, as well as repair infrastructure. Meanwhile in the capital of Reachathan, King Chey Chetta III is blinded by a failed assassination attempt by radical Buddhists, and abdicates, seeing as he cannot rule the country well while blinded. The heir, King Bonaphum (former Lan Xangi God King Phouttasinh's stepson and former God King Sengprachanh's half-brother), becomes the King of Cambodia. Huge celebrations are held at his coronation. His first edicts are to a) officially abolish slavery in all realms of Cambodia, and b) To give the Phnong people in the mountains bordering Champa a vassal kingdom.
    • Phnong Godly Kingdom: We are established, and we own a strip of land stretching around 60 kilometers north-to-south and 100 kilometers along the Cham border, thus encompassing all of our historical lands. We are mostly Makanists, converted a few years ago by Lan Xangi missionaries. Our leader is God King Banang. Officials from the Khmer Government are currently working to build our soon-to-be capital, Phnom Trasak (OTL Senmonorom). Our population currently numbers around 20,000.
  • Karnad: There is much commotion in the court with ministers and officers suggesting the King to expand the country and establish vassals. However the King decides that it will be better to consolidate Karnad's rule over Melukakam|Balochistan and to integrate the country than expanding like a madman like Bengal. He says that it is the duty of the court to provide to the people of Karnad and Meluakam. The popularity of the Dakshini language and script keeps increasing due to its simplicity. A large number of printing presses are established across the nation. Collections of old folk tales and epics in Dakshini are sold widely as writers come up with novels. Land clearance continues especially in Kerala to make way for plantations and the cultivation of spices. Many landless farmers are employed in the plantation or are given land in the newly cleared areas.Coconut, tea, oilseeds, coffee, cashew, areca nut, ginger, rubber, raw silk, timber, sandalwood, sandalwood oil, sugarcane and spices — including cardamom, clove, chillies bananas, pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, cotton, tobacco and nutmeg — are cultivated and exported in large quantities. Iron ore mines and gold mines are opened up in the Kannada area. The government spends more money on the infrastructure in the country. Large irrigation projects are started on the Krishnaveni (Krishna), Godavari and Kaveri rivers. A major road project is started to link Coimbatore, Erore, Karur and Tirupur (centres of textile production) with the major ports of the country to facilitate the export of cotton textiles. Gobichettipalayam (Silk textile production hub) is linked to Madurai and Tanjore. The Kerala School of Mathematics and Astronomy is recognised by the government and funds start to flow in. "Indian mathematicians gave a non-rigorous method of a sort of differentiation of some trigonometric functions. Madhava of Sangamagrama and the Kerala school of astronomy and mathematics thereby stated components of calculus." The KSMA develops integral and differential calculus further. The series expansion of trigonometric functions is documented. The results are sent to the University of Mysore which starts developing a theory of integration and differentiation. The Yuktibhasha and other works of the KSMA are translated into Dakshini. Sunflowers experience a sudden rise in popularity.
    • Meluakam|Balochistan: Irrigation projects are fruitful and help in the establishment of farms. As most natives in Meluakam are tribal people and are thus disconnected, these farms are mainly operated by people from the mainland. Landless farmers from Karnad keep moving to Meluakam in large number because of the provision of free land, money and to escape the oppressive feudal system. At the end of this year, there were 350,000 people from Karnad in a population of one million natives. As a result the Dakshini language starts to spread. Coal and Copper mines open up in Meluakam. A large number of natives are employed in these mines. Roads are constructed and the natives begin to settle down. The Zoroastrian minority is well treated by the government and are called as Parsis. The majority of the Parsis are engaged in mercantile activity and with the establishment of a proper government have benefited much from the trade with the mainland.
    • Maladweep|Maldives: The long neglected islands of Maladweep are placed under its own governor. Around 20,000 people live in the islands. Mahale (Male) is designated as the new capital. A small port is developed and trade between the Mainland and Maldives starts.
    • Note: All of India's gold comes from the Kolar district of Karnataka. I don't know where does Bengal get gold in its territory. Adolf neglects the diversity of the subcontinent and remarks that whatever can be grown in the south can be grown in Bengal which is ASB. Spices and such spices can and were never grown in Bengal at all. The same issue is with chocolate, coffee and rubber.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:We keep attacking Okwanuchu,Achumawi and Atsugewi tribe with our iron armour and Elk cavalery. We also ask Iberia to have their missionaries be in our cities. We also Begin to Mine gold again but this time we use it to make coins and jewelry.

  • Bengal Empire: Spices continue to be a very popular product produced in Bengal and Burma (yes spices grow here I've done my research). Ths spices consist of : Ginger, White Pepper, Amchoor, Ajwain, Indian Gosseberry,Tulsi,Green Cardamom,Almond, Pomegranate, Cinnamon, Large Cardamom, Coriander, Garam Masala,Rose Water, Gurh, Turmeric, Green Chili Peppers, Tamaind, Nutmeg, Mace, Cumin, Curry Leaf, Neem Leaf, Cashew, Black Salt, black Cardamom, Black Pepper, Nigella, Cumin, Safron, Poppy Seeds, Garlic, Red Chili, Cloves, Indian Bay Leaf, Sesame Seed, Heeng, Rapeseed, etc. Wheat has also become a popular product in Western Bengal and Coconuts have started to be used in treats and cndies that have started to be exported. Sugarcane Plantations have spread to all of our colonies in the Indian Ocean. Many more plantations are built to produces rubber and coffee as coffee has been receiving an uptick in popularity since last year. Mines for gold and silver are built across Burma and Orissa as signs of the precious metal in the rocks and stone have been confirmed by a local. So far the mines have been successful in producing precious metals. A variety of coffee drinks have been starting to use chocolate into the beverages and have become extremely popular that market places that do have these drinks have been running out quite swiftly. This leads to high level of demand for both coffee and chocolate products. Many plantations are built on Mistri and New Sahammas which have been benefiting a lot from this craze. Vase shops are starting to become quite popular in the region especially in Ahom and Orissa. Many beutiful and unique pieces have been produced. This has pushed for the construction of an art meuseum in the capital city of Mas Ubai. near the Andhra/Orissa border, mines are made for copper and so far the mines have been extremely successful overall. In Ahom tea has become quite popular leading to tea plantations to be built across the region and has become a large producer of tea which has been exported in high amounts. In Padrina, mines have continued to spread. Islamic Missionaries are sent to the colony to spread islam to natives and tribal people of the colony. With the help of the natives, we expand our colony by 8px. In the Burmese Shipyards, we start to increase the production of Megaships which have been commonly used as passenger ships and most recently as naval ships equipped with the most modern type of weaponry available. Flintlock guns and cannons have continued to be produced in large quantities in yards with the production of gunpowder still staying high and steady. Jewelry has also lead to many businesses being made that produce a variety of jewelry that is mostly based off Gold,Diamond, and Silver. Copper is less commonly used but is also fairly popular and small quantities of it could be found in many rings. We spread our influence amongst the neighboring states by giving them economic and political support by trading with them. Missionaries continue to convert people in Burdagan voluntarily and many have been given permission to go through a religious expedition across india to spread Islam. Schools and Universities across the empire start to use telescopes for astronomy courses and European science books are adopted into the school curriculum. We recruit 54,000 people into our military and reserves. 46 ships are built or near completion for the navy that range between mid grade and high grade ships for the navy. Cotton exports start to increase significantly in Inland Burma and Bengal.
    • Banten: We continue to develop roads and pathways across the state. We also advance in our education system by building many schools. Coffee has become a high export due to the rising popularity of the product in Bengal. Chocolate Plantations have also been built across the area and shipyards have been constructed. A merchant freeway and a national sewer system are under construction. Irrigation has continued to advance with higher quality crops being produced. We start to build navy training bases and we produce 12 medium moderately equipped battleships.
  • Malaya: The Queen expresses her delight, and recommends the French novel, leading to a larger female workforce. Some traditionalist Muslims and Christians in the southern states disagree with this, but do not get physical. The Royal Navy gets an upgrade, with outdated weaponry refitted with the latest imported from Burgundy and Korea-China. We loosen our economic strangle on Dai Viet. A map of the "wellness system" is created after extensive research for years in the University of Malaya. The maps are copied and sold to doctors around the nation, in hopes of increasing the effectiveness of the cures. A carpenter in Sabah experimenting with wood creates a hollow box that has a pleasant knocking sound. Basing his design on Persian lyres, he adds metal wires to them which give off a pleasant sound when plucked. After lacquering it, he sends it as a gift to the Queen, which she accepts. The Queen is impressed by this and ask for more of these instruments. More spices are uncovered in the Bornean rainforest, and are slowly being bred into more beneficial variants. Baroque style architecture becomes a common feature in city centers
  • Tsardom of Belka: The empire continues its recovery after the civil war seeing large population growth from the manpower which has returned home from war. With a population nearly breaching 14 million the Tsar is forced to undertake a census of the empire to figure out where many things stands such as provincial populations, ethnic divisions, as well as get a more effective idea of where the capabilities of each province stood in terms of production. Ironically for a former theocratic state, the Croatians have become a rival to the banking institutions of Sofiya, Tarnovo, and Vasiligrad with their effective system bringing together dozens of banks across the country to the Tsars chambers forcing him to fully restructure the system to service the state in a much more powerful capacity rather than their current independent structure. With more and more restructuring under way the Tsar remains resolute in his military establishment keeping the Army at a full strength of 60,000 and awarding or commendating the hundreds if not thousands of officers which served during the civil war and subsequent polish invasion. General Kamarov is made into the Field Marshall of the whole army who with the advent of crude handheld explosives begins putting their strongest, largest, and most veteran troops into smaller more elite units which are to become known as Grenadiers. They will act as Shock troops.
The construction of roads continues. The agricultural revolution continues with more bananas and bread being made. As instability in the states surrounding Sindh and Gujarat means that English East Indian company goes out and offers trade to more former Bengal and Arvayartan nations (Mod response).

  • Papal States: With the Marchese denying knowledge of the obvious smuggling activities, Cardinal Paulo, acting on his threat, raises his troops and invades Montferrat to put an end to the smuggling. His uncle the Pope, although annoyed he hadn't been informed of the plan, acquiesces to it. Missions continue in the New World, in Korea-China, Giapan, Southern Africa, and Lan Xang.

      • The name is 1) Anachronistic (these organizations didn't exist before the 19th century) 2) Redundante ("islam" and "Muslim") and 3) grammatically incorrect. -Natemod

  • Rashidun Caliphate: The military is greatly modernized by the Jaffarids, including grenadiers for the artilary as well as an "Amir Al-Jaesh" (Commander of the Army) to be official commander-in-chief over the whole military. This office is first held by Abdullah Jaffar. The economy is fully recovered, with trade from France and Belka extending as far as China through the rented island of Gulangyu. Hejazism is spread as a good philosphy in Arabia. Many religious leaders in Egypt and Syria accept working closely with the Islamic theological society.
  • Poland: We continue to build up our military and navy for defense against Russia, while our infrastructure programs finish up. We are still open to diplomacy with Russia, but Russia has not acted in hostile aggression lately so we believe Russia may be backing down or giving up.
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr | Al-Afriqia: Sultan Jalaal dies from a large large pains in his chest and generally his body (Heart Attack IRL). Sunhaib, broken over the death of his father, takes a leave of absence from the his throne to venture to the Rashidun Caliphate to "find his purpose", which causes Aseel to ascend the throne. Although citizens still hold grudges against him, he makes large reforms and bases his beliefs and ideology of that of European nations and the Caliphate. His first laws as King prove polarizing, as he declares war upon the Kuba Kingdom and the Lunda Kingdom. He sends three divisions of a total 3000 troops to invade Kuba, while four divisions of a total 4000 troops are sent to invade Lunda. Although the invasions were successful, casualties are announced at 2582/7000. After this, he vassalizes Kuba and Lunda, placing hardline islamic rulers to the states. Harsher and literal Islamic laws are placed in the Kuba and Lunda Kingdom's to lower moral and to stop any possible rebellions. Sultan Aseel unites Loango and Tio, forming the Islamic State of the Kongo. Queen Werababa is renamed to Hawraa. Sultan Aseel destroys the statue of Jalaal, and ridicules his father for his "reign of hell and chaos". • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot:We keep Mining gold Near Diltwa Wintuye so that we can pay of labourers to work on our churches and our first wall.We Also ask if there are anny Iberian Architects willing to work us for money to create better churches and teach us how to make good and clear glass (Iberia Response). We also Keep fighting the Okwanuchu,Atsugewi and Achumawi tribes and we ask them to unconditionally surrender or face total destruction. We also Ask Iberia if we can buy five Iberian boats and get sailors for them so that we can explore the Coast in their name and give the information to them.We also Keep sending setlers to the "Collonies"
    • Iberian Diplomacy: A few architects agree to work for Mzerka. Iberia agrees to the second offer only if Mzerka supplies their own crews.
  • Lan Xang: The God King drinks tea is a nervous way at his palace, afraid that Cambodia is now ruled by the old God King's heir. More Makani missionaries are sent to Siam, at a fast pace. Hundreds are sent every month to contribute to the evangelization of Siam. This is not happening without controversy though, as radical Buddhists fear the Makanists are destroying the Buddhists strongest hold on earth, Southeast Asia with Makanism. An assassination attempt occurred against the God King while he was in his palace, however the royal guard protected him. Also, to prevent further problem, the Hmong Heavenly Princedom/Emirate got fully annexed and now the Hmong face ethnic cleansing due to their "barbarian invasion" of Laos. Rather than executing the assassins or revolters, the God King tries something new. Taking advantage of Makan's "grace" he decides not to execute them but to use them for forced labour and massive construction projects a lot on irrigation works.

  • Bengal Empire: With such an abrupt tragedy such as our glorious colony in africa, thousands mourn the loss of the colony as many had relatives and loved ones there. beside the loss of the colony the empire had other things to worry about such as how the nation was going to recover and get out of debt. This had been solved by several acts such as the Farmers Act which helped increase the production of food items to feed the poor. With the crash in the Spice Market we start to redevelop the market by bringing back slowly commonly used spices like Peppers,Chilli,Cumin,Cinammon,Nutmeg, and other naturally occuring products that have remained minimally affected by the spice market's collapse and are produced naturally and in plantations and in some cases in peoples yards. Vanilla has picked up in popularity. Another act was made later on in the year that helps the poor basically get back on there feet after the crisis. We continue regardless to pay off our debt with the mines in Burma and limit our yearly spendings by 30%. Due to these measures taken by the government we should be back to a normal state of increasing economy by 1703-1705. With the limited spending we concentrate on the most important things like rebuilding our agriculure industry and increasing irrigation. Wheat has become a highly produced food source and it used to feed the poor. We also concentrate on the production of livestock. Cotton and Exotic Fruits are shipped out and exported in large quantities. Coffee continues to be more popular leading to more plantations being made in Mistri, New Sahammas, and Burma. We concentrate on making trade more easier by expanding our trade roads across the region. We continue to spread Islam across the rest of India. The Hindus are treated with respect and have been given the right to have there own schools and teach children in there own way but it would have to stay as a private school and not a public one. On the subject of school, we continue to invest heavily in our education industry. Astronomy continues to pick up in popularity as a course. We also reduce spending in our military budget temporarily and only recruit 18,000 troops and only 24 naval ships are built across all of the areas that we own. 24,000 troops are sent to New Sahammas and Mistri to protect the colonies. We allow what is going on in Banten as we support diversity. We also slowly develop Orissa to be a thriving coastal province once the empire exits this crisis
    • Banten: We concentrate on producing coffee and chocolate in plantations across the region. Our budget is limited due to the crisis in Bengal but we make use with what we have. Exotic Fruits are exported to Bengali trade partners and we invest on helping the poor and less well off population while also investing on the Education System. Shipyards continue to produce small to mid grade ships but in lower than usual numbers.
    • No chance in hell your recovering in less than 15 years. Also no chance you have a soil and conservation act, also ive done my research a lot of the mines your trying to use are not accessable with the technology of the current in game year and on top of that I COLLAPSED YOUR COLONY AND YOUR SPICE MARKET FOR A REASON. Consider this a strike, and if I see any attempt at more colonies and recovering much quicker than I have just noted I'll slam you with the third strike too. slow the fuck down -Feud

Small amounts of migration to England from Scotland due to enclosures. The construction of roads and canals continues with a new attempt to link Scotland and northern England together by linking the River Clyde to the River Nith and then the river Nith to the river Eden and the river Eden to the river Lune in three canals plus clearing all four rivers for traffic. This series of canals linking Lancaster to Glasgow should take a few years to construct but the the army are sent into help as labourers and engineers in support of a private venture largely funded by English merchants.
