Busan milk tea becomes popular in England, becoming a stable diet, but the English call it "Lady Lin Tea".

Matolle is crushed by Sinkyone.

Caesar Escalante loots a ship containing one of the most beautiful woman in France: Lady Renoncule. She is quietly submissive to her captures, responding to the captain with "As you wish".

A prominent chief of Chokwe converts to Islam, and instructs the Bantu people there how to read Arabic.

An anonymous treatise of paradoxes in Arcadia refers to "the Praise of Vasili I", "the Praise of French Pox", and "Why it is Good to be in Debt".

The Imam of Persia, ibn Hussein, proclaims the Shah to be a servant of corrupt bureaucrats (the Ulema) and derides him as a traitor of the Shia faith. Governor Ali al-Asad orders ibn Hussein's speeches to be printed and distributed across his province to the people. Additionally, he begins raising an army in case the powers that be send someone to remove him.

Tsar Stanislav marches on Berlin engaging the Prussian army in direct combat in Pomerania with his full 55,000 strong complement of troops.

The Czechs in the South split from Prussia in an attempt breakaway only to face loyalists. The Two hastily raised armies fight near Prague with the loyalists and the separatists concluding a woefully indecisive battle leading to large amounts of damage to the countryside as well as some minor damage to Prague.

The Scandinavian Generals after their disastrous defeat in Germany takes its own initiative and approaches the king for funding for the establishment of Scandinavia's proper Professional Army (Tier 4 is given due to Scandi being woefully out of date for no reason.)

  • Mzerka: We annex Mattole into the Sinkyone/Mzerkan city-state. We also get our first impressions of European language. While the Diltwa likes the technology and influence of the Iberian power and he begins to learn to speak Portuguese he also names himself "Grande Reformador". He also asks Iberia to send him books about Iberian government and he also wishes to secretly get an Iberian gun and in return he will give some elk, maps of the region and gold.(player response)
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Although the Iberians are wary of giving the natives guns, they accept the Mzerkan deal (Mzerka is still referred to as Sinkyone by the Iberians). The gift of gold leads some to believe the Sinkyone land is rich with gold, but the rumors remain confined to the Monterrey colony.
  • Tsardom of Belka: With attacks conducted on the Belkan fleet the Tsar along with his Diet agrees that war with Iberia is now inevitable and mobilizes the entire 300 strong fleet blockading further and preventing the Iberians from reinforcing. This also comes in Tandem with the Tsar hiring mercenaries numbering 15,000 and attaching them to the Italian expedition and conducting an attack on the Sicilian forces (note: I'm disputing Generals ability to circumvent a blockade and land 42,000 troops without fighting a direct naval battle to challenge the blockade.) With help of the Italian leagues forces led by their own Great Leader Polydore Morosini, the Tsar opens in direct battle with the Sicilians with nearly 60,000 of his own troops (including mercenaries) in tandem with the full force of the Italian league which (I believe) fields 45,000 professional troops. The Battle is set at the Sicilian encampment near Ancona and the army converges in full on the Sicilians (ill do an algo when I get home from work tonight y'all). While this is going on, the Tsar authorizes an increase from the peacetime forces and shells out the money to train 20,000 more troops at home bringing the troops at home to a strength of 35,000 (with 20,000 undergoing the two-year training period). The economy while recently recovered seems to be unfluctuated yet due to most trade coming through the east rather than Gibraltar. with so much going on the Tsar begins looking for help in the western world to balance out the Iberians and keep them split. In order to more effectively keep trade routes open and other issues from cropping up, Tsar Constantine offers to help pay for increase defensive postures for the caliphate for the duration of the war to keep shipping open and prevent interference by Iberia in the Eastern Med trade region (Nate plzzz)
    • Rashidun Dip: Boi, do we accept.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Art and culture continue to maintain their Baroque pique. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) continue to be proliferated across the Muslim realms. Umar Jafar, governor of Syria and patriarch of the Jaffarid clan, acquires more direct control over the national treasury. Technology continues to thrive in the House of Wisdom, where the greatest of scientists there is Ahmed Sultah. Sultah is well-known as a wondrous engineer and alchemist, harnessing the metaphysical properties of the universe on par with Archimedes of Syracuse and Hero of Alexandria. Using his genius, he is known to make many powerful war machines in the service of the Ulema. Meanwhile, in the distant land of the Jinn, the old gods of Pre-Islamic religion have remained in exile from Arabia since the coming of Islam. The gods here have remained hidden, in a castle called Uluru by the ignorant natives, ruled over the three Daughters of Allah. Hubal, one of the most powerful Jinn, led a revolt this year against the Daughters, but was ultimately thwarted. For his punishment, Hubal's memories and power were removed, and he was sent in exile to live in Arabia.
    • Shahdom of Iran: The economy and infrastructure improves, and grows to the point that the Persian fils is worth more in exchange rate to the Arabic fils. Shah Jamshid Amur decides to directly intervene to the situation of Assad, and raises the full military of 120,000 troops. This military is placed under the command of Reza Ibn Ismail, an old commander known for bearing loyal, well-trained falcon, Xerxes. Of course, Reza also suffers from a missing right eye which he lost since the beginning of his military career, but the origin of this accident he has never disclosed. 20,000 troops are sent to stand by near Assad's military, led by Reza himself, while the remaining 100,000 stay in and around Esfahan. Vishtasp readies his army in Kabul, but would nit directly help Assad yet while waiting for the right opportunity.
  • Scandinavian Empire: Development happens around the capital Riksdale, as well as in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oldenburg and Visby. The ports of Vindov and Libov (Windau and Libau) in Couronia are being promoted. Colonial endeavours around Olafsdale (Labrador settlements) and New Blekinge (Hudson Bay settlements) continue. We move inland in our colonies, in order to expand our land mass. Protestant preachers are sent to Oldenburg and the Hebrides and Catholic power is undermined in the region, and money is sent to the Protestant groups within the Hansa. We plan a colonisation trip to Africa. Queen Catherine introduces tea as a popular drink in the higher echelons of Scandinavian society. We ask for peace with Burgundy and Brandenburg, with a status quo ante bellum, and the assets returned. We approve the military reforms, though.

Burgundy-Prussia Dip: The peace offer is accepted, and Burgundy begins returning seized assets.

  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: It is agreed with Burgundy busy with Poland and Iberia struggling against Belka that a conflict should be engaged against Iberia. Initially a force of 5000 troops is assembled at Bristol along with 50 ships and the official story is they are moving to deal with the growing native threat in Arcadia but a rumour is circulated that the attack will be on Burgundy. Both of these are a lie and it is only once the fleet reaches Haiti to resupply that they revealed their real target is an attack on lands where Maiam fights. 5000 troops are pulled from English Arcadia to link up with the force in Haiti. In exchange for use of English ports and companies the Pirate Republic is asked to assist England in their fight and commit 80 ships, 2000 soldiers and the Dread Pirate Roberts the Great Admiral. Once having restocked in Haiti they set a course for OTL Puerto Cortes and launch an attack with the English task force of 50 ships and 10,000 men after declaring war on Iberia as well as hopefully an additional 80 ships and 2000 men from the pirates. Once having secured Puerto Cortes we link up with Belkan's assigned to the area to act as guides to lead the force inland and seize San Pedro Sula and providing that falls easily to leave 2000 men to garrison San Pedro Sula and then march east along the coast taking the towns on the coast up to Iriona hopefully taking Tel and La Ceiba on the way. encouraging Maiam people to rise up and fight now that relief has arrive. The 130 ships of England and Pirates move along the coast supporting the English land force. Muskets are brought along to supply to the people to start a new revolt. Meanwhile, another two groups of 50 ships each with 1000 troops to go out and raid the Iberian northern coast hitting smaller towns on or the near coast and sending a force down into the area to burn it with an avoidance of use of ship munitions which should be reserved for fighting Iberian ships. Attacks are on places without significant troop garrisons. Parliament approves the raising of a new 35,000 man line infantry force to garrison the country while Portsmouth fleet is brought back up to defend the English channel and the Bristol forces are mostly out fighting. There are 1000 English troops in English Arcadia, 1000 in Haiti, 500 in St George's island and St Helena island and 500 in the Bay of Kost and New Canterbury each. These forces are all defensive and to hold positions within the largest settlements until reinforcements can arrive. We request the Italian League and Tsardom of Belka subsides us in our fight against mutual enemies even though it is a separate war (MOD and Feud response).
    • PR Secret Dip: The Pirate Republic is open to combat against its hated enemy, Iberia, but needs more in return than access to English ports (earlier I merely meant that I need said access for it to be practically possible- I still need a better incentive to make it profitable to stop piracy and enter a war)
    • English Dip: A Non- aggression pact and we will support Pirate Republic claims for land in the post war. Also, the crown shall award trade contracts and writs for expansion to the Griffith & Sons Trading Co. (Agreed on chat so added in for Person, ask him if you want.)
    • PR Dip: Agreed.
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Not prepared for a colonial war, Iberia offers to cede OTL Belize and the Atlantic coast of Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua for an end to hostilities. As is standard, we require a ten-year truce.
    • English Dip: Yeah we agree to this and if Maiam is ever properly independent they can have the lands back but while Iberia still occupies we have to keep them safe and administer them. The pirate republic is given Belize to administer and keep safe from Iberia.
    • Iberia to England: We do not recognize the Pirate Republic as a legitimate state. Their control of Belize is illegal and if England does not take measures to remove the pirates we will take action. (Translation: Since Iberia and most other nations are perpetually at war with pirates, any land they own is fair game. You should have them give it back to you or it will be your loss.)
  • Pirate Republic: The Republic continues to grow, thriving upon the riches of French shipping. By now, it can claim almost a hundred crews to its name, as well as its ground force of some 2000 'Reapers'. The Republic's reach stretches across half the globe, operating the length of the New World and the width of the Atlantic, even beginning to venture into the mouth of the Med, unnoticed due to the surrounding chaos. Its crews train to high standards under the noses of their experienced, often ex-European navy, officers. Never before gas such discipline and order been present in such a large scale piracy, but perhaps due to their prosperity, democracy, and their great leaders, the Dread Pirate and his protege Caesar Escalante, the Republic is turning into a coherent naval force that strikes fear into the hearts of its enemies. Lady Renoncule is held captive upon Escalante's flagship, but treated kindly and fairly by Caesar, who admires her courage and beauty greatly. As a result she is guarded carefully but afforded privacy and respect by the crew. As an influential and prominent member of the French nobility, her ransom is vast, a sum large even by the standards of the Renoncule family, one of the richest in Europe due to their huge banking and trade empire, but she is popular and well loved and negotiations begin immediately between the agents of her father and the Republic. It is hoped by her family that she will be returned come next year, if all goes well. The Republic begins work on a medium sized settlement in undiscovered South Africa, co-operating with the local tribes. Using Teddy Leach's ties to the merchant industry of Europe, the trading firm of Griffith & Sons Trading Co. is founded out of London, with unofficial ties to the Republic. The company grows rapidly in its first year, receiving funding through back channels from the pirates, and by December has a large office and two depots for shipping on the Thames, from where it co-ordinates its activities.
  • Bengal Sultanate:' 'Bengal begins to launch a naval and military strike on Karnad with 210,000 troops storming into Eastern Karnad and another 100,000 being sent to Karnad's colonies with 276 Naval Battle Ships. burning down partially towns and cities. This was due to a dispute of territory between who had ownership over the OTL Maldives. Survivors of the invasion are protected and placed under curfew to avoid events of resistance. Any resistance faced will not be tolerated and will lead to the rebels to be immediately taken into custody and sent to a prison in Bengal. The soldiers although strong and well trained, felt sympathy to the people effected so the Sultan of Bengal allowed the rebuilding of taken territory. The Maldives are ceased and Karnad is pushed back. (Algo coming soon.) Meanwhile, back in Bengal large supplies of weaponry are sent to troops that are fighting in the war including flintlock guns and cannon bombs. This has caused an increase of jobs due to weaponry being a new high demand list of items. More Shipyards and Weaponry Yards are made to produce weapons and ships at a fast pace. 46 Naval Vessels are made across the nation with 23 being produced in the colonies. Meanwhile, in New Sahammas, communications with the natives become more better and some 3000 immigrants move to the colony. Due to the conflict, an increase of military recruits have been made with 38,000 people joining the military. Tahva Co. begins to secretly use their ships to deliver weapons to the military in Karnad. Gun Powder begins to become a very popular category of work and business to produce gunpowder mostly for the military. Cannons and Horses begin to be sent to occupied Karnad. The Sultan has declared that he will not surrender until Karnad agrees to release their colonies and East Coast to Bengal. In other news, candies begin to be produced for the military as treats once again like during the Ahom-Burma War and large supplies of food is also sent over.  Mining continues in Bhutan with businesses and farms thriving in Burma and Ahom. Although the war is sudden and slightly a surprise to the citizens, hope of piece is wished for and a victory for Bengal as well. For the people and troops fighting in Karnad, it is a struggle and hard fight being dealt with but for the people in the main region of Bengal, life continues to be for the most part normal other than the news of war.
  • Bengal Dip (to Aryavarta): We would like to trade with your nation and install a non-aggression pact for en years plus to stay out of the conflict in Karnad.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: New Netherlands expands 50 px north. Nova Belgica builds several more stockades along the OTL Connecticut River. These help prevent English Arcadian incursions farther north than OTL Wilder, Vermont, where the southernmost and largest is located. The former Hospitaller colony of New Germany (OTL Mobile Alabama) expands 50 px up the OTL Mobile River. Maryland expands 50 px up the east coast. Imports of Arcadian, Laurentian, and Asian trade help stabilize the Burgundian economy, and the treasury begins showing signs of recovery. The Burgundian troops in Prussia continue serving with the Prussian army fighting the Poles, now that Scandinavia has agreed to return to status quo. An army of 10,000 troops are sent to support the loyalists in Bohemia. After a secret vote of approval in the States-General, Frans Jozef vun Bourgogne, Duke of Guise and Regent of Burgundy, suggests to King Otto that he move his primary title from Prussia to Burgundy. King Otto accepts (approved by Scraw), though he will remain in Prussia for the duration of the war with Poland.
    • Kingdom of Prussia: The Prussian army of 200,000, allowed to concentrate with Burgundians troops being sent to support the Bohemian loyalists, and including 60,000 professional troops, moves to face the polish invaders as they pass by Stettin.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: following the indecisive Battle of Prague, and the arrival of Burgundian reinforcements, the Loyalist forces begin training in modern tactics to increase their effectiveness. Cavalry forces moves around in the south, securing border crossings and ensuring the rebels are trapped in a pocket. After about a month of training the loyalist forces, the Burgundian-Loyalist forces begin marching southward to face the rebel army.
    • Whole point of professional armies was to make the shit levies unusable in combat in continental Europe. They are reserves, and garrisons, that is it. -Feud
    • I'm facing a great leader, so I need more troops just to offset that because professional troops aren't worth more in the algo than pleb troops. I also think fielding this many troops is justified seeing how the Poles have taken Danzig, and are marching on Berlin, so now isn't the time to be holding back. I don't see why non-professional troops shouldn't be allowed in such an important point. -Guy
      • Scraw has also told me "of course" non-professional troops are able to support professional troops. -Guy
      • Uncrossed with Scraws permission. -Guy
  • Great Iberia: The Californias and Nova Galiza continue expansion along the coast. Mêcicipi expands upriver. Nova Iberia expands along the Rio Grande. In response to England's declaration of war and subsequent peace treaty, 5000 troops are raised to defend the colonies from the emboldened Mayans. The full available strength of Iberia's navy (~270 ships) faces the Bulgarian navy in the Mediterranean, though not in a single battle but spread out over multiple smaller engagements (as per rules and algorithm). Pedro Afonso de Aguiar offers Berbera (an Omani vassal) better protection and assistance in expelling their Omani overlords from Somaliland in exchange for the city changing their allegiance to Portugal. (Mod Response)
    • Iberian Diplomacy to Papal States: Iberia requests military access through the Papal States.
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: With the Islamization of a prominent chief of the Chokwe tribe, we show the tribe leaders and chiefs the baroque art and literature that we received from the Rashidun Caliphate. We hope that the holy illustrations and very significant texts that we've shown them will hopefully allow for a quicker process of converting their tribesman's faith into Islam. We send diplomats to the Kingdoms of Lunda and Luba, in hopes to pursue possible vassalization, as well as spread the word of Muhammad and the holy faith of Islam. Our population is currently 667,000.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. The microscope is developed by an imam in the Madrassa of Mogadishu after fiddling with glass beads and lens at home. He later also discovered cells from observing a leaf.
  • Russia: Settlers continue to move into Siberia. Port Sibir begins to become a medium sized, fishing community in the Kamchatka Peninsula. We begin to make moves placing 100,000 men across the border of the Northeastern part of the Khanate, the other 500,000 are placed into reserve. There is two expeditions to the Binkov Sea and discover two Islands (these are the Russian section of the Aleutian Chain). We begin to practice war drills, and prepare for a signal from Sino-Korea, to make our move. Soldiers are put under the command of General Nicholas Alexandrovich.
    • The Korean–Chinese Emperor gives the Russians discretion.
  • The Great Union of Korea and China begins accelerating the fortification of the nascent Korean subsection of the Great Wall, clearing the dirt mounds and erecting properly solidified stone walls in its place. A total of a hundred thousand contract labourers are hired to construct the wall, which is estimated to take approximately a decade. About a total of 300,000 soldiers are mobilized, with half stationed in Manchuria, the other lined up along the Great Wall. The government continues to reduce state intervention in the economy, instead allowing firms a higher degree of mobility. State control over much of the secondary sector is lifted. However, metallurgy and the production of weaponry are still nationalized. Licenses are required for merchants to distribute and sell aforementioned items to the commercial market. While the government, under the Legalist policy of enriching state prowess, emphasizes the development of the military–industrial complex, merchant guilds and commerce continue to flourish under the removal of various restrictions. Merchants are still barred from participating politically, unless they have succeeded imperial examination. While Korea–China has achieved financial stability by pegging the paper currency (which functions as a gold certificate, and is exchangeable for precious metal coinage) to gold for high-value transactions, and copper for low-value transactions, there is still a lack of a medium to satisfy medium-value transactions. While originally utilizing an alloy between copper and gold, the resulting alloy still remains relatively high in terms of value. Thus, it welcomes the inflow of cheap European (and to a lesser extent Japanese) silver through its ports. It also begins mining any ground deposits of silver in Hamgyeong. As a former General, and instrumental in the collapse of the Tan dynasty, Lord Sui Wuseung willingly travels to the Great Wall to give military advice to border guards. He places his son under temporary control of his fiefdom. Lady Lin tea, or Busan milk-tea, continues to gain widespread popularity. The entrepreneur opens her first four establishments in China proper in: Bukgyeong, Dalian, Shanghai, and Guangdong, respectively. Other variants of milk-tea become popular, such as taro milk-tea, coconut milk-tea, and sweet-potato milk-tea. A few of these variants begin adding in tapioca pearls. This induces the proliferation and development of the Korean tea culture.

Guys, stop calling it "the Americas". North America is Arcadia and South America is Laurentia. Collectively they are known as "the New World".

Swahili discovers fractals, not cells.

The Pietist movement makes a resurgance in Naples.

Frustrated by the difficulty of trans-atlantic travel, a Prince in Prussia offers a reward of 500,000 Marks for any individual who can calculate longitude at sea. Currently longitude can be found by the path of the sun, but without precise and accurate means of calculating the time of day at sea, the path of the sun is ambiguous. Normal Arabic clocks do not work as the pendulum is thown off by the turbulence of the boat.

Governor Asad outlaws the Modern Standard Arabic in his province, citing it as a tool of the oppressor. Instead, he encourages the proliferation of Persian (Farsi). Meanwhile, ibn Hussein continues to whip the people into a frenzy and travels outside the province to neighboring areas. In Bandar Abbas, he incites violence between his followers and officers of the Shah's forces.

The Czech separatists now outgunned and outnumbered resort to organized hit and run attacks as they begin petitioning outside powers for help.

Following the quick and painless annexations of both Salzburg and Bavaria after more than a century of being vassals, the Austrian Archduke Maximilian also concludes a deal with the ailing Habsburg monarch in Hungary. With no direct heirs and what can only be classified as sterility the Hungarian nobility and their king agree to join under Austria in a PU following the death of their monarch. Little to no opposition is given due to Hungary's ailing economic state and Austria being relatively wealthy and prosperous

  • Malaya: With Karambunai and Malabaru developing into small towns, we upgrade Johorean ports for trade with Sabah. We claim more land along the northern Borneo coastline and forests. We clear some land for settlements and agricultural activity, as well as for resources. We encourage our population to reside in Sabah by offering incentives. Laws are put in place to restrict companies from monopolizing the market. More mines and farms are opened in the northern states. In Sabah, agricultural activities begin with the cultivation of grains, as well as local produce including mangosteens, rambutans, papayas and bananas. Exports from Sabah are sent to the mainland before shipped off to Europe or Asia. Coconut milk rice becomes more popular, and is exported to nearby nations. A glass worker from Pahang shares his discovery that light is a spectrum made from different colours after he held a piece of rejected glass to the light. Infrastructure is developed, with gas lamps illuminating the streets of cities at night. High density residences become more common in city centers, with the help of Burgundy and Korea-China.
  • Mzerka: Diltwa begins to learn Portuguese and he asks even more Iberians books about government and technology.(player response). We send people to the Coosiq and Glenada. Now after the meetings with the Europeans ideas and tech there begins to form to factions the first one is anti-European conservative faction lead by the chief of Sinkyone Tuketwa a firm believf in Chipmunkism and he's against European cultures and technology. The second faction is lead by Diltwa the younger brother of Tuketwa he's the heir to the Wiyot chiefdom he also speaks a bit of Portuguese he's also a minor scientist and he's the general with most army experience. We also now get the first use of iron the speed of this is because European interaction and we make mostly chain mail and iron helmets with under it thick fabric clothing made by wool of a special kind of elk.
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Looking to extend their influence further, Iberia sends an emissary to meet with Diltwa in secret and offer Iberian support for his claims to the Mzerka confederacy. He is also provided with the supplies he requested.
    • Mzerka Diplomacy: Diltwa gives as a gift knowledge of Chipmunkism and he asks to not kill Chipmunks since if the Sinkyone knew that they could get a protests against Iberian influence. Diltwa also asks Iberia what kind of weapons they can give to Him and his faction.
  • Papal States: Many members of the Curia clamour for Monsignor Paulo to be given some public recognition for his role in defusing the tensions in the North. Pope Cornelius, anxious not to be seen as a corrupt nepotist, refuses to give him any higher position than his current Monsignor-ate. However, the Curia is insistent, and Pope Cornelius eventually decides to appoint him Legate (governor) of the State which borders the March of Montferrat (Milan?). A special delegate is sent to Naples to help oversee the Pietist movement there. Missions continue in Korea-China, Japan, the New World and Southern Africa.
    • Bishopric of St Peter-in-Brazil: The Bishop asks the Canonesses of the Order of Saint Adelphina to establish a priory in the colony to assist with the education of the native children in the Catholic Faith.
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Iberia requests military access through the Papal States.
    • Papal States: Given the Papacy's neutrality in the ongoing conflict in the Italian League, His Holiness respectfully declines Iberia's request, but will allow Iberian ships to dock and restock in Papal ports. Any other response would be seen as breaking the Papacy's neutrality.
  • Aryavarta: Orissa and Andhra are formally annexed this year following their defeat in 1668. With the annexation of Orissa and Andhra, Aryavarta gains access to the sea. A large number of people move into the sparsely populated areas as trade experiences a boom. More than 500,000 people resettle in Andhra and Orissa to help facilitate trade. Development in Orissa and Andhra begins with the construction of a coastal road joining the ports of Andhra and Orissa. The Arya Samaj quickly establishes a following in Orissa and Andhra due to the majority of the people being Shaivites. The Arya Samaj establishes a tight grip over the nation binding the followers of Shiv in a single group. Our agriculture related policies are furthered. The government encourages the consumption of eggs and dairy products as a result poultry and dairy farming experience a boost which puts the huge pastures into efficient use. A large amount of money starts flowing into the country as the goods produced in Aryavarta find a market again. Belka (if applicable), Iberia and England are offered coastal areas to facilitate trade and exchange of ideas. We also request for a trading pact. The lands will be leased for a yearly fee (you can buy it too), also give them a good name in the language of your nation.. (((PLAYER RESPONSE REQUIRED))).
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Iberia agrees, and asks to lease Visakhapatnam, known in Iberia as Vizagapatam.
  • France: The blockades of the Straits of Calais continues until Burgundy pays the tax. The colonies expand with New Valois and New France expanding 50px each. French Antarctic expands down the coast.
  • Pirate Republic: The Republic continues to prey off French shipping, seizing treasure fleet after fleet in the absence of French opposition, derived from arrogance and idiocy. Caesar Escalante, under the expert tuition of the Dread Pirate, gains skill against merchants and navies alike. The slave trade to the Caribbean is heavily weakened by their efforts. The Republic has now reached 90 ships, limited by having to abandon its oldest and least battle-worthy ships to remain competitive, with 11,000 sailors and some 3000 Reapers. A few dozen more children are born in Republic settlements. Trade with the African tribes increases, as the Republic begins to recruit some of the tribesman as sailors and marines. Their lifetimes of fighting and hunting, accompanied by their great natural physical abilities, give them the potential to be a lethal and cohesive fighting force. The Griffith & Sons Trading Co. continues to grow with unofficial links to the Republic, effectively acting as agents to sell the pirate loot. They very soon have a decent sized trading fleet of their own, and report very high revenues. Lady Renoncule and Caesar's budding romance continues, even as the final negotiations are made. In the summer, the exchange finally takes place on an island off French Africa, and she is swapped for a fortune in gold, a sum fielded by her father, one of the richest bankers in Europe. She and Escalante remain in contact, hidden from her family, upon her return to her family home in Paris, aided by a merchant used by her father who is linked to the Republic, who secretly transports their letters.
  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: With the handing over of significant Maiam lands to England as a result of the peace treaty this is good. If Maiam were to actually become an independent state the King is advised to hand these lands over to the Maiam after negotiations rather than attempt to govern against the will of the people but while the main lands are still occupied by Iberia we need to keep the coast safe. Since the pirates didn't really occupy Belize we occupy it in theory but the pirates are still free to operate out of English ports as per agreement. So now that we occupy the coasts we start shipping in black slaves rapidly and settlers to start growing products such as bananas and coca as well as mining what we can from these areas which do hold gold but not so much. The country continues to maintain a fiscal balance but this is easier now with crops from the new colony of English Honduras. Most of the army and the fleet is returned to its relatively dormant state with 5000 troops going back to English Arcadia. Funding goes into universities and grammar schools with slowly rising literacy rates in the growing towns as enclosure leads to people have to leave rural life and find any work in the towns as well as the development of more trade with the New World and Asia. Privateers continue to take what they can. The universities do ground breaking work in physics and math. A new program to re update the canal and road system as they have not been maintained properly.
  • Russia: We begin, the invasion, of the Great Khanate. 600,000 men aimed at Tashkent, capital of the Khante. We advance many miles into Kazakhstan before the Khan is alerted, and moves his army to meet us in the Aktobe Region northwest of the Aral Sea. 160,000 men meet fight the Khanates forces in the middle of nowhere on the Zhem River. Settlers continue to move into Siberia. Minor fishing villages sprout up on the Cheondoryeol islands. We also expect a Chinese invasion from the southeast.
  • The Great Union of Korea and China, seeing the Russian invasion of the western flanks of the Great Khanate, mobilises about a hundred thousand troops (led by Lord Sui Wuseung) to conquer the constituent state of Mongolia. Meanwhile, it keeps an additional two-hundred thousand troops stationed in garrisons along the Great Wall to protect the western flanks of Manchuria and the Chinese core from Turkic incursions. Due to the war effort, more weaponries and armouries are manufactured, and the quota for gold extraction is heightened as to fund it. The Emperor sends emissaries to Russia, asking for the establishment of a Russian embassy in Bukgyeong (Beijing, and a Korean embassy in Moscow. In midst of the erupting war, the Korean tea culture continues to flourish, with Lady Lin tea becoming a commonly-consumed beverage.
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: We adopt the Modern Standard Arabic as a second language, with many of our younger citizens piecing the language together as well learning the original Arabic that they've been taught so far. The Holy Islamic Theatre (أخمغ ÷سمشةهؤ لإاثشفثق) is the first university being opened in Zayiyr, positioned along the original Zayiyrian-Loangoan border. Children, after attending their Primordial Islamic Education (؛قهةخقيهشم ÷سمشةهؤ ُيعؤشفهخى) have the ability to attend the secondary education provided through the Holy Islamic Theatre. Although the Theater promotes Islamic art and culture heavily, the bringing of scriptures and forms of literature in Zayiyr has brought a new education for the citizens: Literature. We hope to bring in audiences of our newly acquired tribes of Tio and Loango, as well providing the offer to the tribes of neighboring villages we've Islamisized. Multiple missionaries and diplomats are sent into Europe and Asia, to learn of their culture, collect forms of their literature, etc. The plant known as "Special Herb" (ٍحثؤهشم أثقلا | Cannabis) has begun to make large assertions into our village, as a few business selling the plant have opened up among the copper mines. Sultan Jalaal, although largely skeptical about the plant, has decided to keep it within Zayiyr to see how the citizens enjoy the plant, as methods of raw eating of the seeds had somewhat caught the Sultan off-guard. The population continues to grow, reaching 670,000 by the end of the year.
    • Rashidun Dip: The Ulema wishes to know why the drug of Hasheesh, traditionally used by the Ismaili sect, is being cultivated in the South African Sultanate.
    • Zayiyr Diplomacy: The Sultan explains that he does not know how they have come into existence in South Africa, but says that numerous tribal men during the Kongo-era had cultivated it before the transition into a Sultanate. He also says that they had been used before hand as a form of paper, but now citizens simply eat it instead of writing on it.
  • Great Iberia: King Pedro continues to centralize the realm under the Kingdom of Portugal. After a narrow victory against the Belkan fleet in the Gulf of Naples, 47 ships are sent to Palermo and joined with the 30-ship fleet to break the blockade. Afterwards, the fleet sails to Messina to secure the strait. 10 fireships are deployed during the first battle, and three in the second. Various smaller battles are fought elsewhere in the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, 42,000 troops are transported to Sicily. The Californias and Nova Galiza continue expansion along the coast. México expands along the Rio Grande.
    • Iberian Diplomacy to Maiam: With the war at a stalemate, Iberia offers to recognize Maiam's independence under the current borders. As is standard, they require a 10 year truce.
  • Rashidun Caliphate: The economy is consolidated under the treasury of the Syrian governor, Umar Jaffar. The Jaffarids have much control over the government and the Ulema itself, outside of those loyal to the Caliph Al-Qasim. Seeing the Husseini rebellion breaking into violence in Iran, the Amharic pilgrimage once again rises in protest by Theodore the Hermit. The presbyters of the Coptic Church of Alexandria manage to elect a successor of John XIV, taking the name Pope Gabriel VIII. Pope Gabriel whole-heartedly supports the protest, at least in spirit, citing that the Ulema ought to have stronger autonomy for the separate race of people in East Africa. Theodore raises an army of 4000 Copts at the city of Herekropolis. Meanwhile, the genius Ahmed Sultah demonstrated is latest invention to the Emir of Yemen: a portable Archimedean death ray. During this demonstration, however, a band of Qamarid pirates raided the site, kidnapping Sultah and killing the rest. The pirates tried threatening the genius to make war machines for them, cutting out his heart if they didn't comply. However, secrely Sultah managed to compound the philosopher's stone while in captivity, and used it to replace the functions of his heart. In addition, he constructed a crude suit of armor with many concealed weapons and devices within them, including the Archimedean death ray and steam jets for limited flight. Using this armor and the philosopher's stone, Sultah killed his captors and returned to civilization. Meanwhile, the trickster Iblis raised an army of undead soldiers to attack Mecca, as part of his usual schemes for world domination. A local doctor in Hejaz named Amir Aswed grabbed the nearest weapon he could, an old mace, to fight against the undead. Immediately, Aswed was endowed with incredible strength and size. After crushing the forces of the undead, he noticed an engraving on the mace, which said "whosoever lifts this mace, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of HUBAL". Immediately, Hubal's memories were restored, as he was Aswed the whole time.
    • Shahdom of Iran: The Shah prepares defenses to protect the state from incursions. Most of the defenses, utilizing the military from earlier, is sitautated around Iran proper on the cities of Esfahan, Tehran, Yazd, and Perse. The Shah is aroused from his sleep at night by a strange dream, which he related to the soothsayers to interpret. The maji responded to the Shah that this dream shows the Shahdom has been lifted to the heavens by God's blessing, but by its pride will suffer violence and brought back to its core. As a side note, God could be considering the end of the world. Reza personally leads 10,000 troops to Bander Abbas, crushing the violence there to push back the Husseinis to Assad's territory. Meanwhile, further east Dashtur Vishtasp opens full rebellion of Kabul, uniting the Zoroastrian people to purge Arab influence from the region. Like Assad, Vishtasp bans MSA, and proceeds to raise military to slaughter the Arabs within the Bactrian region. This earns him the title of "Vishtasp the impaler".
  • Cambodia: We begin building paved roads to connect the country together, as the current roads are just dirt tracks, and they turn to mud during the rainy season, making travel during that period almost impossible. We also build more schools and universities to educate the population. We lower taxes on the poor and raise them on the rich, so the wealth will be a little more balanced, and the government begins a national irrigation program, with the goal of every farm in Cambodia will be irrigated with enough water to last year-round. This should be achieved within the year of 1730. Our government takes a more meritocratic turn, to be more like the Chinese system, so now, instead of titles being handed out via hereditary means, people who want to get a position in government now have to take a difficult test. Subjects include math, science, writing poems and essays, Khmer history, and Buddhist texts. We improve relations with Malaya . The King, King Chey Chetta III, calls Cambodia's best architects to design a new capital on the Mekong River, called Reachathan (OTL [Kampong Cham]). Its layout will be Chinese-style, but the buildings will be of Khmer architecture.
  • Electorate of Saxony: The Prince-Elector of Saxony; Christian III began looking to increase trade in Saxony and as such he increased taxes and pulled money out of the treasury to improve roads and other infrastructure. Along with this trade was encouraged by local merchants and offered trade agreements to all its neighbors. They also begin to assert their influence over the Landgraviate of Kassel Herzogtum and bring them into their sphere of influence via offering them a personal union or becoming a vassal of Saxony. (Mod Response Needed) They also began to seek an alliance with the Kingdom of Burgundy. (Player Response Needed)
    • Kassel declines. -scraw
    • Burgundy-Prussian Dip: The alliance is accepted.
  • Karnad Empire: In response to the Bengali invasion an army of 200,000 troops is raised supported by 50,000 hired troops. We effectively stop the invasion as the larger Karnad fleet of 800 ships equipped with a few Iberian technologies engages the much smaller Bengali navy preventing further invasions. Of the 400,000 troops, 50,000 guard the Western coastline. A task force of 50,000 troops launches an invasion of the unguarded area, Burma and captures the Rakhine area. We ask for help from Aryavarta and an alliance. A policy for agriculture similar to that of Aryavarta is drawn up as many canals get completed.
    • Bengali Dip: We would like to cease the conflict with you and have a peace treaty if you are able to give us the Maldives. The war has been costly on both sides and it is only reasonable to end it.
    • Rashidun Dip: We encourage keeping peace on the Indian subcontinent and ask Karnad not to ally with Aryavarta if it keeps the Maldives
  • Bengal Sultanate: The nation's troops retreat back to the sea due to the East Coast Front becoming a costly effort and troops are sent back home excluding 75,000 who are fighting for the Maldives taking island after island until Karnad cooperates and signs a peace treaty giving up the Maldives. The nation concentrates on producing more military supplies and 250,000 troops are sent to the Bengali-Aryavartan Border Wall. Troops patrol the area watching for any progress or any suspicious activity from our larger neighbor. 50,000 troops are sent to take back the Rakhine area. Assistance from allies are sent over and China sends 50,000 troops over to support us in our conflict that is hoped to be resolved shortly by next year if everything goes well and a peace treaty can be signed. 800 ships are sent out to survey the region off the coast and around Karnad to survey any activity or threats. Mas Ubai is put on high alert and some towns around the coast have been given the all clear for voluntary evacuations. 20,000 troops are sent to the capital to defend it if worst comes to worst. With the news of these events, this has caused fear and public outrage against Karnad's actions leading to a booming level of recruitment for the military which total to 43,000 and volunteer military will be added due to a number of people who want to join and the Self Defense Training Program which has proven to be quite successful after the old scare from China years ago. Naval Shipyards expand and 73 ships are built for the navy this year. Forts are built around the coast of Burma and Bengal. Small forts were built around the border wall. The new forts have been equipped with large quantities of weaponry, artillery and cannons just in case of foreign invasion. Canals have begun to be worked on across the nation with expansions in irrigation for the dry season. Gun Powder has continued to be produced with Weaponry also being produced in large yards. Economy-wise, mostly everything stays the same. The population of Bengal reaches 40.25 million. Development of the colonies also continue. Production of certain items and expansion of modern roads and homes have continued, though.
    • Burgundian East India Company Dip: The Burgundian EIC extends an offer of alliance to Bengal.
    • bengal Dip: We accept.
  • Lan Xang: There was a civil war between the Royal hardline Buddhist faction led by Souringna Vongsa, and the pro Chinese general Souphanouvong. Souphanouvong planned to take the throne of Laos, and open up the Kingdom to trade. His plan succeeded. He was able to completely slaughter the Royal Army and their family and take the throne for himself. Thus he begins reforms. Confucianism is adopted as the State ideology while Buddhism remains the State religion, with the two fusing quite a bit. Paved roads are built, replacing the dirt roads we currently have. Souphanouvong begins to do irrigation reforms and begins building a mass irrigation system, to be able to give the country year round water for the farms. Also, Vientiane is redesigned to have a more Chinese layout, incorporating many elements of Chinese architecture, along with other cities. [Diplomacy to China: We request advanced firearms from you, as well as blast furnaces. Also, we increase our tribute to show extreme loyalty to the Chinese government.]
  • Maiam: Fighting on an official level stops as diplomats from Iberia and England are entertained. Iberia is warned that the current borders do not encompas Mayan or Aztec homelands and that the people will not agree to this, even if the Emperor does. The Emperor states that if the Crown of England really cares about the Maian people, he will use his diplomatic leverage to assist the nation in reclaiming its homelands and other territories to ensure that the nation prospers and is able to take care of its citizens. The Mayapan cross enemy lines into Iberian-occupied territory and stir up rebellions and steal more of the Iberian army's supplies, destroying that which they cannot steal. The Emperor urges all the citizens of Maiam to remember that while Iberia turned a blind eye to them, the government of Maiam never forgot any of its 'children'.  Maiam's population now reflects about half native Mayan and Mexican and half European, with a large mixed-race population.
    • English Dip: We support Maiam independence obviously and as we say we will begin negotiations for handing over once we are satisfied that Maiam is independent from Iberia and we have no diplomatic leverage over them.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Nova Belgica continues to consolidate its control of its territory north of OTL Wilder, Vermont, where the stockades built in the area prevent English Arcadian incursions north of that point. Land grants are given to new colonists to encourage settlement. New Netherlands Expands 50px up the OTL Delaware River, and small cannon-armed rivercraft to fight off native attacks. Like in Nova Belgica, Stockades are built along the river, this time to defend against attacks by natives.
    • Kingdom of Prussia: after last years victory over the Polish forces at the Battle of Stettin, Emperor Otto offers peace terms to the Polish king, in which Poland will be ceded territory corresponding to the OTL Danzig Corridor (plus Danzig), but asks that the German population there will be granted special autonomy (mod response pls).
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: Fighting the rebels continues, cavalry detachments continue securing border crossings, and begin launching raids into rebel territory. Meanwhile, the main Burgundian-Loyalist army continues marching south, securing several towns. To ensure local support, the army encamps outside of the towns, and the army is under orders to pay fair prices for supplies.
    • The Great and Mighty Tsar says all citizens will be treated equally and accepts these lands for peace. -scraw

A religous movement in Aryavarta disavows the Shaivism, saying that Krishna is the true lord and savior.

Burgundy suffers economically due to the blockade.

An apple falls on an Englishman's head.

Cambodia's irrigation program is slightly faster than expected.

Asad and Vishtasp make a pact against the Shah and Caliph. Ibn Hussein declares that he had a vision and that Asad is actually the Messiah, Al-Masih. Meanwhile, Asad attracts many of his fellow Iranian governors to his cause, promising higher positions to whoever comes to him first. There is now open revolt in Persia and Afghanistan.

Having achieved his goals in Danzig, the Tsar of Poland takes his armies home and promises to make Poland great again while he plans his next war. He orders Polish people to move into the newly acquired land and also mandates the construction of a grand fleet in Danzig. The city is renamed Gdansk (if anyone can pronounce it).

The Sultan of Rum conquers Karaman after they refuse to allow him access to the sea.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Caliph Al-Qasim flies into action against this revolt against the nation. This era has been known as the Seventh Fitna, or alternatively the Final Fitna according to those who sees this as the end of the world. A total of 145,000 troops are raised from Mesopotamia, with 10,000 in reserve. First they are gathered at Tabriz, then move eastward to meet up with the Persian forces to fight directly against the revolt of Ibn Hussein and Ali Assad. The Ulema formally condemns Assad as being the Messiah, as the Quranic Revelation of Muhammad is clear that it was Issa (Jesus) who was the Al-Masih. The National Treasury of Damascus was emptied to fund this sudden army to crush the rebellion. However, these actions are not universally accepted. In Africa, Coptic revolt gains significant ground with the Caliphate's forces pushed eastward. Additionally, the Druze in Syria give nominal support for Husseini, as they have long awaited the new incarnation of God. Meanwhile, Ahmed Sultah improves his earlier suit of armor to create a full battle gear filled with gadgets: Archimedean death rays, grappling hooks, and steam jets. He managed complete levitation by using an alchemaic element that repels the earth. Using this armor, Sultah goes into action battling evil and injustice around the Middle East, known as Kilab Al-Hadeeth ("The Iron Soldier"). Hubal, having grown to appreciate humanity and its developments due to his time in exile, decides to also become a superhero using his powers of a Jinn invested within the mace. In addition, a natural philosopher in the House of Wisdom dabbles in magic spells and alchemy, trying to summon a powerful Jinn to do his bidding. In punishment of his pride, the angel Jibril curses this philosopher to be posessed by a Jinn whenever he loses his temper. This demon then went on a rampage across the Hejaz region before he regained control over his body, but was henceforth known as the Jihadiyya, or the Living Jihad.
    • Aryavarta Dip: We request the Rashidun Caliphate to rebuild the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. We will send the architects and the funds for the reconstruction.
    • Shahdom of Iran: The Amurid government at Esfahan follows suit from the Caliph to formally condemn the Husseini heresy, especially the idea of Assad masquerading as some messiah greater than the occulated Mahdi. Having stopped Hussein's push for the coast last year, Reza Ismail moves the forces across Persia proper eastward to dislodge the remaining rebels and force them back to the mountains. The most important battle, occuring in March of this year, took place at the city of Kerman. Reza led a total of 30,000 Persian forces with support from 129,000 Rashidun troops to surround the city, crushing all the Husseini forces within. Finishing the battle, these forces remain to secure the city. Further north, a force of 14,000 Persians supported by 20,000 Rashiduns crushed the Husseini forces in the desert of Dasht-e Kavir. Finishing that battle, and recovering losses, the troops move further east to attack the city of Zehapan. Although they only achieved a decisive victory, this nonetheless succeeded to drive the Husseini forces back to the mountains of Baloch, where the Persians and Arabs would find it much more difficult to attack at this time. 20,000 Persian troops remain in the city of Yazd against any possible Husseini attack, while the remaining 70,000 troops keep guard over the Capital.
    • Empire of Balkha: Dashtur Vishtasp, the great impaler of Sunnis, managed to secure the entire Bactrian region under his banner, consisting of his personal union of Kabul and something else. To this end, he immediately establishes a broader cultural idenity for all Zoroatrians living within the region, known to the world now as Balkha. And of course, all those who do not fit in this identity are easily cut down as one would trim hedges. Whether you like it or not, Vishtasp will make this nation homogeneous. Unfortunately, one obstacle remains: Vishtasp is preoccupied with his forces besieging the fortified city of Samarkhand, which still remains loyal to the Shah.
    • Aryavarta Dip: The Zoroastrians that had been living in Aryavarta are moving back to Balkha. These people were exiled by the Muslims in Iran. An elite force of 4000 troops know as the 'Brigade of the Thugs' is sent to help the Empire of Balkha.
    • Sultanate of Oman: Even the island of the desert is not immune from the chaos caused by the Seventh Fitna. Although Oman for many centuries have enjoyed an unbroken line of Nabhani Sultans (*brushes Yoruba dynasty under rug*), differing branches of this dynasty remain. One very influential branch of the Nabhani openly supports the rebellion of Husseini, and to that end attempts to lead a coup against the Sultan during this year. The coup is defeated, but conflict within the nation persists.
  •  Salish Nation: We have many new farmers attemting to cultivate maize, and one of our people has created a basic irrigation system. There is so much food, some people start just building. We also have a very large population explosion. Our military continues to attempt to subjugate the Chinook as a vassal (MOD RESPONSE). New boats are built, as we search for different types of fish further out.
  •  Aryavarta: We recognize the Empire of Balkha and support the new Zoroastrian state as Zoroastrians start moving back to Balkha. With a huge majority of Shaivites and other Hindu sects the new movement remains a small one as many followers of Krishna themselves disavow the movement citing that Krishna himself in the Bhagvad Gita said that all religions and sects are to be respected, stating that there are many ways of reaching God not just one. The Krishanites' disregard of the movement reflects the tolerance of Shaivism and the other Hindu sects. We will mediate peace between Bengal and Karnad in the Treaty of Patliputra. With a large number of irrigation, the percentage of irrigated area rises substantially especially in the Ganga valley. Irrigation and canal projects related to the Jammu River, Dal lake and the rivers of the Indus system are started in the north. Handicraft and industries related to precious and semi-precious stones experiences a boost due to great demand for exports. A new song, Jai Jai Shiv Shankar, is widely circulated becoming extremely popular. The consumption of Bhang (Cannabis Beverage) increases. A greater amount of people are now engaged in animal husbandry and the farming of cash crops. As a result the standard of living in the rural areas increases due to increased income. Maha Shivaratri, Chhath Puja and Holi are the major festivals.
  • The Great Union of Korea and China continues the conquest of the Mongolian provinces of the Khanate, placing the entirety of the troops under the command of Lord Sui Wuseung. The occupied territories are annexed and designated as a fiefdom, commanded by a council of military officials ruling under the name of the Emperor. Due to the demands of the war effort, more weaponries (mainly gunpowder-based weapons such as artillery, rifles, and cannons) and armour are manufactured. Additionally, more gold is extracted to provide funds and to avoid financial strain on the National Treasury. Emissaries are sent to Russia, hoping to establish an embassy (and thus a firm presence) in Novgorod. Gifts including: silk, tea, and gold-plated porcelain, are presented to the Russian Tsar and his court on behalf of the Emperor, as a gesture of benevolence. The emissaries add on that the Russians have been given discretion to establish an embassy in Bukgyeong (Beijing), should they comply with the aforementioned request. In midst of the vacuum caused by the mobilization of troops north, a group of Miao chiefs in the Yunnan autonomous province begin orchestrating the assassination of Lord Sui Wuseung's sole son, and the acting fief for the meantime.
    • Lan Xang Diplomacy: We request some of these rifles, artillery and cannons.
    • Korea–China agrees, seeing that Lan Xang is their loyal tributary.
    • The Abbess of Tondo draws Korea-China's attention to the request for a small piece of sovereignty for the newly built local Abbey in Tondo (in the Essen post below).
  • Malaya: We continue moving inwards in Sabah, with more land cleared and agricultural activities aplenty. More settlements are built along the coastline, and citizens in the mainland are encourged to help develop and settle the area. Trade begins with Cambodia as ports open in Surat Thani and Pattani. We export wood and crops to them, most of them from Sabah. We begin urbanizing the Isthmus of Kra, and upgrading infrastructure in existing settlements to be on par with the likes of Malacca and Penang. In Kuala Lumpur, a large cathedral begins construction. Designed to be a multipurpose religious center, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists and Hinduists can come here to pray in harmony. Known as the "Kathedral Suria", or Cathedral of the Sun, built to promote religious harmony. Its completion is due in at around 200 years, maybe more, maybe less. Fishing becomes a stable means of production in Sabah. Ports in the western coast are upgraded again.
  • Mzerkan Tribal Confederation: The Faction split between Tuketwa and Diltwa happened. The first clash happened when Diltwa acussed His Brother Tuketwa for distroying books weither this is true or not isn't known but after the accusation Diltwa had a hand fight with Tuketwa and now the families had to chose side for who they should join where most Sinkyone and Wiyot Joined Diltwa the Rest joined Tuketwa to keep so much as posible freedom from a central government while the Sinkyone see it as a way to get more power and technology.Diltwa ask local researchers to Research the Spannish gun but they can't destroy it.
  • Lan Xang: The irrigation program continues, beginning to make some process. Vietiane continues reconstruction with a Chinese layout and architecture, along with many other cities. Hospitals are built to deal with the urban sick. Meanwhile, slaves/servants begin to be treated better. The new rifles/artillery/cannon are phased into the military, and reversed engineered. A goal is put in place to create a self sufficient Lan Xang military force. Royal exams begin, similar to those in China, and Cambodia. Confucian Propaganda is spread. Most notably, we change our script from the Akson script to a siniczed script for our language. King Souphanouvong militarizes the Siam border, fearing that Siam could rise again. He showcases his modern Chinese weaponry mixed with war elephants. [we request an alliance with Cambodia in case Siam leaves the tributary system and attacks one of us] [PLAYER REPONSE]
    • Hmong Kingdom: Formed initially from a decentralized tribal confederation, this has been vassalized and centralized by Lan Xang before they could threaten our Kingdom. A small population of a few ten thousand of these tribes men in the moutnains, they begin to be "civilized" by being taught political experience, more advanced agriculture, and even set up a small capital Vang Paogon. They are being given Chinese and Laos clothing, and being taught to make their own. They are being taught modern warfare tactics. The capital is small, with a population of 800, and Buddhist temples are built. Vang Pao is declared King. Irrigation reforms will begin.
  • English Arcadia: We invest in infrastructure and continue to expand into the great lakes, focusing on the Peninsula surrounded by OTL lakes Heron, Erie and Ontario.
  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: We keep shipping people into English Honduras to make money from the new coastal colony we control while Haiti The country continues to maintain a fiscal balance but this is easier now with crops from the new colony of English Honduras. The universities do ground breaking work with Sir Isaac Newton doing something to do with gravity and why things fall down. Continued work is focuses on England and Wales for canals and roads to link the country better into an internal market while docks at London and Bristol are expanded. Free grammar schools continue to educate people of towns. Work on a new strategic fortress at Cork is started as well as a naval base for English and Irish ships with the Great Island having a number of batteries placed on it as well as works to defend it. Construction should take ten years. England has 5.5 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.8 million people and Scotland 1.1 million people.
The military is being reformed and a refurbishing of forts, particularely at the Karelian chokepoint, the Polish-Scandinavian border and on the Sudreyar.
  • Pirate Republic: The republic up continues to thrive off French shipping, looting vast sums. Griffith & Sons Trading Co. expands at a rapid rate, opening offices in Paris and Calais. More to follow
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: Infrastructure improves as the economy rises. The long process of teaching Arabic to civilians whom haven't learned the language begins after the creation of the Holy Islamic Theater. We guess that the process will take at least a decade, but these are estimates. The statue of Sultan Jalaal is near completed, and will be debut at the center of the capital, M'banza, in two years.
  • Cologne: Archbishop Wulfrich breathes a sigh of relief when news reaches him that the German states have all banded together to keep out their would-be invaders from both Poland and Scandinavia. The war powers are only temporary, as promised, but Wulfrich is concerned about the fragmented state of the Holy Roman Empire and its potential to work together in times of conflict. Accordingly, he holds Imperial Synods more frequently and ensures that every relevant leader of each HRE state is privy to the Synod or otherwise gets a vote, and begins to write up laws for the overarching unification of German lands under the rule of a representative system of some kind. He also continues to make speeches rallying the German spirit together, especially given their recent military victory, continues to fund the scientific research into the smell of pastries (he can’t get it out of his head), and invests more money into the widening of trade routes throughout the HRE. He also begins expanding university thought into other HRE states, especially with respect to his area of expertise: a theological education. In this respect, he also continues to fund scholarships for young people in Northern German lands in an attempt to discourage the words of old “Protestant” preachers evidently being sent from Scandinavia. These “Protestant” preachers, the young canonesses and priests say, are evidently out of their minds, because there is no apparent theological difference between “Protestantism” and the fully-integrated Northern Rite (originally called Kappelism). Pamphlets are distributed and the Holy German Tribunal is on the look out for any heretics in Northern German lands. This year, two young people from Northern German lands are invited to write in the German Paper about the pointlessness of undermining Christian power in the region, and the welcoming of Northern Rite beliefs if they do in fact come from Scandinavia.
    • Essen: Abbess-General Isengard oversees the building of more advanced systems of equipment over the mines in Essen, and subsequently watches the slow increase in Essenian funding. She also oversees the successful Canoness exchange program and the bringing in of Tondoese and New World canonesses to share their knowledge. Notably in Hospitaller Arcadia and New Essen, Seminole people begin to join up to the canonesses, after many years of learning to trust the Adelphinian Canonesses’ aqua colouring (on their habits) as distinct from other White People. The Seminole-centric education model begins applying to the native people in Burgunidan Arcadia, and interaction is difficult because of previous Burgundian relationships, but the canonesses approach the native people with nothing but kindness and support. In other news, the Prefect Apostolic of the China Mission sends five Immaculata missionaries to Laos. The Legate of Milan, Msgr Paulo (the Pope's nephew), continues his campaign of improving his legateship. The local militia is built up into a decent force, forts are reinforced, roads are improved. Other supplies are also produced at high rates as well. Not only that but the military also manages to recruit 64,000 troops including troops from the self-defense program. 400 ships are also sent out to the coast of Aryavarta to conduct a Naval Blockade and bombing of the coast to destroy as many ships as possible. With the surplus of crop production being existant, the food items are sent to troops fighting in Aryavarta. With this all in progress, The armed forces push into Paradwip (algo coming soon) which is partially burned down to prevent uprisings or any resistance forces to attack due to limited attention towards the region because of many troops being sent to Punjab. Over there, as usual empathy is felt towards the victims of the conflict and are taken care of to the best of our ability. More troops will be sent over if needed. The chocolate industry and shipping industry continues to grow and expand with MS Starbucks being completed with slight changes in plans like the ship being armed with cannons and guns to protect it just in case any attacks arise. Meanwhile, irrigation in the nation and mining continues. 45 ships are produced for the navy with 14 others being produced in the colonies. The Ulema begin to seriously address the situation in Egypt with the Coptic revolts and the Amharic pilgrimage, and plan out a beaurocratic system that will limit the power of the Ulema and disperse it to various local ethnicities, in the manner of an uber Millet system. However, while these discussions continue the Jaffarid clan greatly influences the result, hoping to seek greater power. Putting down the coup in Gujarat, the Caliphate dispatches 80,000 troops on 1,000 ships to land at the port of Patan. Headed by the admiral Walid Ismail, the landing makes a decisive victory and dispatches the coup, although the rebellion itself is unable to be crushed yet.

Many public buildings were desecrated, and the library of Esfahan was set on fire. As soon as pilaging slowed down their advancement, however, Jamshid Amir and the forces of the Caliph managed to bear their forces against the invaders and repel them from the city. At this point, the forces of Reza Ismail arrived with large reinforcments from Kerman, and battered against the Husseinis at the siege. A dramatic moment happened (as they usually do) when Reza and Assad clashed swords whilst arguing their respective sides of the religious faction. Ultimately the siege is finished and the Husseinies were completely crushed.
    • Sultanate of Oman: The main branch of the Nabhani are ultimately victorious at putting down the rebellion, although the insurgency continues. Piracy increases greatly as the government is disorganzied.

Cambodia discovers dirt. The legends are true!

The mercenaries hired by Aryavarta are highly disorganized and fight among each other for booty.

A popular and asthetic local Brahman in southern Punjab begins preaching that the Kali Yuga is coming to a close, bringing the ultimate decay and rebirth of the universe to remove the tyranny of Shiva. He is very popular among the sects of Hinduism there and many believe him to be the prophesised Kalki.

Tondo maintains its war as purely naval, capturing pirates of the South China Sea and forcing Dai Viet to stop engaging in piracy. It accepts help from China for colonization efforts.

The viceroys in Central America suggest selling guns to one city-state in Sinkyone to establish hegmony in the region.

  • Electorate of Saxony: Now after consolidating their forces the Saxon eyes are turned to Messin to the south. Meanwhile, they expand their wine, cloth, and wool production and widen the Elbe River to allow ships to sail from Hamburg right to Dresden from where they can unload the goods and only have to travel half the distance. Which allows more focus on improving road between Venice and Dresden. This also results in massive increase in trade complimented by increased export of wine, wool, and cloth soon making Saxony one of the richest regions in Germany. In the meantime they raise their army of 40,000 and demand that they submit to vassalization just like Kassel did or face armed invasion. (Mod Reponse Needed)
    • Messin rejects. -scraw
  • Rashidun Caliphate: As the Seventh Fitna is being brought to an end, the various componants of the Caliphate are steadily brought back together. The far eastern provinces of Iran are invaded by Caliphate forces, although nominally now reunified with Iran, it still holds some de facto independence. In the south, Oman's civil war is brought to a close with the Qamarid branch of the Nabhani dynasty surrending to authorities. Gujarat is also recaptured by Rashidun armada, but is also very contentious in its revolution. With the Seventh Fitna concluded, the Calipahte is able to bring its full military to bear to crush the Amharic revolt in Egypt and East Africa, then push further west. In Morocco, a force of 10,000 troops are sent to help crush the Husseini supporters there. Most significantly, a council of Ulema leaders are convened in Samarra to decide the new political situation to end the chaos. It was decided to vastly expand the beuracracy of the Ulema to accomodate the various sects and minorities, especially the Chistians and Amharics in Egypt. The rebelling Nabhani branch was restored as Sultanate, but over the island of Qamar, where the entire colonial empire of Oman is now run from. The Bactrian region is completely lost to the new independent state of the Empire of Balkha. The region of Iran south of Bactria, being very chaotic and hard to maintain, is separated as an independent vassal of the Kingdom of BalochIn addition, it was decided that the new beurocratic structure would be run by the patriarch of the Jaffarid clan, henceforth known as the Jaffarid Sultanate, holding most of the secular authority over the CaliphateIn a worldwide diplomacy, the Caliphate sees that the colonial empire is too large to maintain, and so is now selling off many of its dependencies to build back the lost treasury. Colonies and protectorates are auctioned to diplomats at the Conference of Beyrut. Nations specifically invited include France, Iberia, Burgundy, England, Scandinavia, Belka, Russia, Sicily, Swahili, Karnad, Bengal, Aryavarta, Malaya, and China.
    • Sultanate of Cyprus: Ruled by the last remnant of the Abbasid dynasty, the Zayidi branch of the house of Abbas reigns over the Island. Capitalizing on the reduced hold of the main Rashidun navy, the Sultan deploys his own navy to spread over the Mediterranean, mostly for trade. However, the Sultanate also adopts many pirates of the Barbary coast to raid and pillage across Europe. Late in the year, a group of pirates from Cyprus sails up into Naples and sacks the city of Bari. Much loot is pillaged and anyone of importance are captured for ransom.
  • Lan Xang: After the new arrival of the missionaries, Christianity is spreading in Laos. This is causing great tension between the buddhists, and the Christians. However, a man claiming the be a prophet, "Makan" claims that this is unnecessary. He links Jesus and buddha together, citing both religions grace as not a coincidence, and claims that they were actually the same person, but a different incarnation. According to him, they are both the living incarnation of God, "Phrachao." He creates a text linking buddhist ideals and bible scripture, and links them together in a great book. This new religion, its being known by many as "Makanism." It is growing. However, the Buddhists see it as a threat. Even the Christians don't like it. However, many people see it as an escape of violence buddhism has recently been doing. This religion is evangelical, and Makan is sending Envoys to the royal court encouraging the King convert. The King refuses. However, Makan isn't giving up yet. Makanism must be spread at all costs, he says.
    • Papal States: Several more Immaculata priests are sent to Lan Xang, hoping to win converts.
  • Pirate Republic: Caesar Escalante continues to be groomed by his adopted father into becoming the next leader of the Pirate Republic, now almost equalling the legendary reputation of the Dread Pirate, after a succession of magnificent naval victories against the French and Iberians. Griffith & Sons Co. continues to grow, soon becoming one of the most powerful merchant families of Europe, with offices spanning the Mediterranean. Escalante and Roberts are named Chief Executive and President of the firm under aliases, establishing the de Vernon family: thanks to the Republic method of wearing black veils during combat their faces are unknown to authorities. The fleet continues to grow off the backs of European trade, the Republic now with some 20,000 men across 130 ships and a 5,000 man ground attack force. Their networks continue to spread across the Caribbean, stirring unrest and dissatisfaction with Europe's colonial masters. In France, the power of the Duet family grows in time with their vast wealth, as a network of paid infiltrators and loyalists are spread throughout the upper echelons of French society. Henri Duet, the alias of Caesar Escalante, begins to woo his secret love through more legitimate channels, and by December he is publicly courting her, with her father's approval. Their love causes a stir in French society, as a marriage would mean the joining of Europe's richest merchant house with the rising star of trade firms, Griffith & Sons Co., controlled by the Duets. Such a merger, were it to proceed, would make the resultant family incredibly wealthy and powerful. Under intense secrecy, dozens of heavily armed Fleet ships are moved from their bases in the Caribbean to hideouts along the coast of North East Africa, in areas outside of colonial control. None of the captains are told of their orders until arrival in places with no outside contact by way of sealed letters. The crews, composed of volunteers for great riches, are not to be told their targets until the very last instance, all in the name of secrecy. Each of these ships are prime ex-naval vessels, including the British ships-of-the-line, fast and well-armed with the very latest technology. Their crews are made up of some of the most experienced and efficient men and officers.
  • Tsardom of Belka: With the previous year's battle in Naples going extremely well, and the siege going underway, the Coalition force decides to undergo its final decisive attack on the Sicilian forces and crushes them in the six-month long meticulous siege of Naples. It ends with minimal loss of life and the capture of the majority of the Sicilian army. The siege becomes famous for becoming the literal poster child of Belka's military doctrine being used on an enemy with clear and obvious success. The Tsar triumphantly parades his army in Naples before turning control over to the Italian league and drawing up plans for getting an official treaty to work out ending the war. This includes ending the war with Spain and getting the Straits of Gibraltar opened back up to Belkan shipping even though most of Belkas shipping goes through the Eastern Med and is on contract ships in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean bought from local ship builders. With the mediation still under way between Poland and Russia, Belka requests Russia turn over the historical duchy of Lithuania to Poland and end hostilities and prevent further conflict between Russia, Belka, and Poland.
  • Cambodia: After our discovery of the so-called "Spice Islands", the exploration fleet rests at the Spice Island city of Makassar for 6 weeks, when they hear of a desert landmass a good distance south of the Spice Islands and filled with barbarian tribes. The exploration fleet continues southwards to see if that place really exists[Mod Response Needed]. At home, a new religion, called Makanism, is growing, mainly in Stung Treng, near Laos. This religion says that Buddha, the Christian god Jesus, and the Muslim prophet Muhammad are one and the same, only in different reincarnations, and that all religions are one and the same. This leads the governor of Stung Treng Province, a newly converted Makanist, to seek the King to ask for official religious tolerance, After pondering the question for three weeks, King Chey Chetta III officially announces the Edict of Official Religious Tolerance. This edict states that although Buddhism will remain the official religion and will continue to be promoted by the government, Khmer citizens may practice any religion they choose without government interference and opression. The irrigation project continues, and Reachathan continues to be under construction. We continue improving and maintaining relations with China, Malaya, and Lan Xang.
    • Makans addition to Makanism: Makan, hearing of a new prophet "Muhammed (saw)" and seeing that the Khmer Makanists are adding it into the equation, decides to incorporate it into the religion.
  • Great Iberia: Iberia recognizes Diltwa as the rightful ruler of Mzerka, supporting his claim with guns and supplies. Peace is offered to the Italian League and allies. The terms are: Sicily will cede OTL Abruzzo and the rest of Marche to the Italian League (Mod/Player Response if Sicily agrees). Belka will be given conditional access to the Straits of Gibraltar, provided that they agree to end all support for rebels, pirates, and other enemies of Iberia. All parties will sign a ten-year truce. Meanwhile, Portuguese missionaries become active in Indonesia, particularly Timor, Sulawesi, and Tondo. Mêcicipi expands upriver. México expands inland into OTL Texas and New Mexico along the Rio Grande.
    • Papal States: The Prefect Apostolic of the Mission in Korea-China offers the Portuguese whatever assistance he can for their missionary activities, as well as those of the Mission in Tondo, which is under the authority of the local Adelphinian Abbess.
    • Iberian Diplomacy: Iberia accepts, and also requests Papal aid in organizing missions in Nova Galiza and the Californias.
  • Malaya: The nation agrees to participate in the Conference of Beyrut, and hopes to expand in this manner as well as increase relations with the Caliphate. Laotian Makanist preachers in the Kra Isthmus gain a few followers, but are not taken seriously by the predominantly Muslim population in the northern region. Several religious figures in the peninsula from Islam and Buddhism speak out against this new religion, while some Christian pastors share their mostly negative opinion on the subject. King Puspasari has passed in an unfortunate accident, with no heir, so his sister Suria becomes the reigning monarch of Malaya. This creates a small outcry, specifically in the more religious provinces. Development in settlements along the Sabahan coast continue, with Malabaru and Karambunai becoming major population centers. In accordance to the queen's new stance on establishing relations with nearby nations, we send a proposal to Lan Xang, stating that if Siam becomes a threat again, Malaya will assist Lan Xang in the conflict.
    • Lan Xang Dip: We are grateful for and accept any help against any possible Siamese aggression.
The military is being reformed and a refurbishing of forts, particularely at the Karelian chokepoint, the Polish-Scandinavian border and on the Sudreyar.
    • Scandinavian diplomacy to Poland: We offer a member of the Gyldenløve family to be married to the Polish heir. (MOD RESPONSE).
  • Papal States: Pope Cornelius II goes on his private pilgrimage to Bari in Naples to visit the tomb of St Nicholas, a particular favourite saint of his. In Rome, the Vicar-General takes over his day-to-day administrative duties during the Pope's brief absence. However, as time passes, the Vicar-General starts to get worried. No news comes from Bari, and as the days and weeks pass by, it slowly dawns on the Vicar-General: we have lost the Pope. Not wanting to cause any unnecessary panic, he summons the innermost circle of the Curia, and informs them. Agents are sent to Naples to try and ascertain His Holiness' whereabouts and soon enough, the pieces come together: the Pope has been kidnapped in a raid by Barbary corsairs, who took advantage of the turmoil caused by the war. The Curia goes into crisis mode. The Vicar-General takes on the Pope's administrative duties 'for the foreseeable future', the Patriarch of the Latin Rite takes back direct administrative control of the Latin Church from the Papacy, whilst the Papal army is mobilised. When news of the Pope's disappearance becomes public, there are some riots in Rome as people panic and rob stores to stock up on food. Although order is restored, the makeshift Executive Council feels its grip on control is somewhat tenuous without the strong central power of the Pope. The missions continue in the New World, Japan, Korea-China, and Southern Africa.
    • Saxony Diplomacy: Horrified by the thought of the pope being held by barbaric pirates Saxony offers 5,000 of its finest troops to rescue the Pope and once again reiterates its request to get money to use to convert their population back to Catholicism from Protestantism. They are clearly trying to gain Papal favor. But, there are also rumors that Christian III is extremely worried for the pope and believes that the papal military can't handle this like his battle hardened army could.
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: In the Loango region, a black substance in found inside one of the copper mines. A shiny rock that reflects and is see through is found. We name this rock Water Rock (ًشفثق ٌخؤن | Diamonds). After a few months, the water rock has replaced gold as the most expensive item. The population has increased to 700,000, with the military being increased to 15,000. We send diplomats and an envoy to France to buy 15,000 rifles for 75 pounds of gold. The rifles will be used by the troops, whom will be trained to use them effectively and efficiently. The process of teaching Arabic to the citizens continues.

Trade is countined with Spain,France,The Caliphate,Mali and Zaire causing the economy to grow. Dates and Fez become more famous, but sadly fez were later turned into a poltical statement to stand with the Caliphate.

  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: We keep shipping people into English Honduras to make money from the new coastal colony we control while Haiti The country continues to maintain a fiscal balance but this is easier now with crops from the new colony of English Honduras. Funding goes into universities and grammar schools with slowly rising literacy rates in the growing towns as enclosure leads to people have to leave rural life and find any work in the towns as well as the development of more trade with the New World and Asia. Privateers continue to take what they can everywhere. There is a small trickle of immigration from Ireland to England due to enclosures leaving a couple of people unemployed. The universities do ground breaking work with Sir Isaac Newton doing something to do with gravity and why things fall down. Construction of the strategic fortress in Ireland should take eight years years. Work keeps moving in Edinburgh. • Bengal Sultanate: Sadly, our nation's leader has died this year due to old age causing an election to be held. Our nation chooses our Great General to decide our future as a nation. This causes his transition form a Great General to a Great Leader (approved by admin). One of the first things he had done in his first year was to develop Burma as a thriving coastal and agriculturally sophisticated province to become better with more ship yards being built on the coast and more valley's being transformed into small towns and farmland. In Bhutan news of a large gold pocket in one of the mines begins to spread. stonishingly. it seems as though the rumors are true. This has caused a large boom in the mining industry and 6.000 pounds of gold has been recovered from the mine. Scholars and students estimate that this is only 1/9 of the total gold pocket recovered this year. This has lead to a booming economy in the nation with news of several silver pockets being found in mines of Ahom. The majority of this recovered gold and silver this year will be used to bid for territory that is being sold by our ally who is extreme debt. 30 "meqaships" have been ordered to be constructed by the military this year with 24 being completed. These ships will be used in the Bengali Na' if any conflicts other than the one that we are in right now arise. Our nation'as leader has also ordered a ceasfire between us and Aryavarta with a peace treaty hoping to be held sometime next year. Wood has been cut down in Burma to make way for towns and farms to develop into agricultural hotspots. Meanwhile, on the Burmese Coast. towns and cities begin to prosper from trade and shipping. • Cologne: Archbishop Wulfrich condemns the actions of the bombers in Scandinavia, calling them heretics, and assures Scandinavia that – regardless of Scandinavia’s unnecessary and illogical undermining of the peace in German lands – Kolsch people were not behind this attack. Meanwhile, in response to the claims that Protestant Preacher Elizabeth Bathory is a “witch”, Archbishop Wulfrich holds a trial of both the preacher and the people who claimed that she was a witch. The court denounces the claim that she is a witch, saying that such claims are ludicrous, and instead sends Bathory to Northern German lands to learn the error of her protestant ways. She simply needs to reform her illogical opinion, Wulfrich tells the people, but this is not a reason to call her a witch. Anyone who unnecessarily makes claims of witchcraft will be dealt with in the court of discipline. All the reforms and centralisation techniques from 1672 continue, along with maintenance of the militia and facilitation of trade.
    • Essen: Abbess-General Isengard passed away last year after a long illness, the first Abbess to die in the new teal habit of the Adelphinian Order. A new Abbess of Essen is elected by the canonesses, and her name is Anniken Fischer. Furthermore, she is surprised and shocked by the sudden kidnapping of His Holiness and calls for all Catholics in the area to pray for his safe return. She also sends some of Essen Abbey’s funding to the Papal States to assist with the crisis. Meanwhile, in New Essen and wider Arcadia, the education model is going well and native people in Burgundian Arcadia are beginning to respond to the trustworthy Adelphinian Canonesses and their attempts to increase the health of the area. Seminole people continue to join up to the canonesses in Hospitaller Arcadia. The canoness in the basement continues to murmur strange things but nobody can understand her yet. Meanwhile, in Tondo, the Tondoese Abbess is disappointed that Korea-China has not allowed their small request for sovereignty, and asks Korea-China what the Adelphinian Canonesses could possibly do to gain their favour. (Korea-China, please respond) The schools and infirmaries already built continue to run.
  • Russia: With the recent territorial losses, the Tsar envisions Russian Arcadia. • Maghreb: The Caliph movement of troops is seen as a foreign attack in the view of many liberal factions in the poltical circle, this causes protest in Rabat as more Humanist Imams to go underground causing an imam named Ali Rasfan (an Imam of Persian decent) and a group of 300 men to flee into the desert, this causes rumors of a rebel army while others see them as moving imams. Trade is continued with Spain, France, The Caliphate, Mali and Zaire causing the economy to grow. Dates and Fez become more famous, but sadly fez were later turned into a poltical statement to stand with the Caliphate. The tension of Caliphate troops causes more people to feel disenfranchised as they feel more like a foreign land then Muslim land. This causes Ali Rasfan to become more and more famous among the youth as more protest and riots happen across the Maghreb. This causes 3 major events in the Maghreb, where a faction of the army to fall into mutiny as some mutiny for money and other for Caliphate troops to leave, at the same time Djama’a al-Kebir surrounding area is turned into a hotbed of protest as a small but growing islamist faction begin to call the occupation an action outside of sharia and begins to call for true sharia to be put into power, as Humanist faction begin to hold more protest in Rabat under the banner of Rasfan. Umar becomes the first Sultan of the Middle East under the Jaffarid dynasty, consolidating power of the secular authority under his family. The Conference of Beyrut indeed turns out very promising by the participation of foreign colonial powers. The Hypostyle Hall of the Qasir Al-Rahim is cleared out as a potential storeroom for the incoming treasures. Bidding on the individual protectorates and colonies will continue for the next couple years, to assess the final offers before any deals are finalized. Meanwhile, the Museum of Alexandria is raided by a demonic army led by Iblis. However, Iblis was only interested in one artifact of the museum: the Ring of King Soloman. This ring, unable to be used by normal men, is the most powerful weapon of magic to ever exist in history, having the ability to control unlimited number of Jinn. Two heros come to Alexandria to stop the Trickster, namely Kapadun Al-Arabia (Captain Arabia) and Kilab Al-Hadeeth (Iron Soldier). Iblis is captured in the ensuing battle, and kept in a mystical prison in Cairo while Captain Arabia and Iron Soldier study the Ring. However, by his trickery Iblis managed to escape capture, and cause the beast Al-Jihadiyya (The Jihad) to break loose and rampage the city, distracting the heros so he can escape with the Ring. Fortuantely, another hero known as Hubal, the Guardian of Mecca arrived and helped put down Al-Jihadiyya. Fearing Iblis could use the Ring now to summon an unstoppable army of Jinn, the Ulema call the four heros to Damascus to orgnanize them as a special task force, with the addition of two new members: Al-Ramee (the Archer), a special agent who is an indisputed master of the bow, and Ankhabut Al-Aswed (Black Spider). Al-Aswed was raised by the Ismail Assassins to be an elite killing machine, before she converted to Sunni to work for the Ulema. Together, these six heros form the team known as Al-Muntuqumun (The Avengers). In one final climactic battle over Mecca, the heros fighting Iblis and his army of Jinn manage to defeat the demons and banish Iblis back to Jahannam.
    • Sultanate of Cyprus: More military and economy is expanded to seek more control over the East Mediterranean. Having successfully sacked Bari, the barbary pirates under the Sultan's authority proceed to sack Amalfi for treasure as well. However, in Amalfi mostly treasure and wealth are stolen, with much less emphasis of hostages. In Salonika, the prisoners of the sack of Bari are kept in prison for the purpose of ransom, but these prisons are kept spacious and well kept. They are interrogated only for contacts to deliver the ransom money to. One prisoner, however, calling himself Cornelius Secundus, seems to provide no such information.
    • Shahdom of Iran: The nation attempts to recover from the devastations of the Seventh Fitna, leaving important cities in ruin. Esfahan and Kerman are particularly reconstructed. Remaining followers of Husseini are purged from the urbanized centers. At the same time, the Council of Scholars at Esfahan broadens the policy to persecute all Shia sects in general. The loss of Baloch and Bactria are also a devastating loss, but this ultimately helps to centralize the nation around the Iranian core.
    • Sultanate of Oman: The nation recovers after the civil war is concluded, establishing peace by giving over the colonial posessions to the Sultanate of Qamar. The navy at Masqat are built up to compensate, but the land military is improved more than anything else.
  • Pirate Republic: Although at first the coastal peasantry seem terrified by rumours of raids by the Black Fleet, their worries are soon alleviated as it becomes clear that the pirate raids, which are few and only when with minimal risk, only target the estates of the much hated nobles. Their network of informants and spies continues to spread across much of the world, allowing the pirates to predict when and where ships are travelling and with what cargoes with increasing efficiency. It also enables the Black Fleet off Africa and in the Caribbean to target in particular the merchant ships of competitor firms to Griffith & Sons Trading Co. aiding their expansion even further than through financing. As a result, the firm reaches new levels of profits, and with the added credit and reputation Henri Duet successfully wins permision from her father to marry his love. With the union of their families is created Europe's richest and most powerful non-royal family. The marriage is spoken of across the world for its extravagance and expense, cementing their fame. In the Caribbean the recruitment drive continues, as small villages are built up secretly upon islands and undiscovered coasts, enabling pirates to begin families. The Black Fleet now consists of some 140 ships, in addition to the Reaper complement of 7,000 men. A new cycle of a dozen ships, chosen for their speed, arrives in the secret lairs on the North East African coast, with the last cycle returning home. Such changeovers are scheduled for every six months, the leader of the task force updated with information covertly by passing Griffith ships. None are to know of the location of the small task force, and still only the captains know of their mission, all picked for their intense loyalty to the Dread Pirate and his son. Several crews and their officers are transported to English and French ports, where they are 'recruited' by Griffith & Sons Trading Co. and placed upon a dozen newlybuilt, high specification, heavily armed warships designated as trade escorts, conveniently not appearing on company records, in place to protect the company's goods around the Mediterranean. On a small and uninhabited Greek island, some 200 miles off the coast of North Africa, they begin to build up a supply depot, and once every few weeks a new ship is whisked undercover through the Straits of Gibraltar and the Med, to arrive at the island where it is to stay hidden in a naturally fortified bay, the location of the depot. In this manner, by the end of the year some 18 ships are hidden on the island. The crews, as with other secret operations in the Black Fleet, are cycled covertly to stop any discontent. During their time on the island they do nothing but train, and study the naval tactics used in the region. A contingent of some 500 Reapers is also slowly deposited at the island, equipped to the very latest European standards. In other news (except not because for obvious reasons the Pirates don't broadcast their whereabouts), work continues on building a network of small depots around souther Africa, with the cooperation of local tribespeople. The Republic secretly purchases, by way of several covert agents, a large amount (roughly 600) of thoroughbred, highly trained Arabian horses, and hires trainers to coach some 300 Reapers in riding the magnificent animals in the plains of North Africa, under the guise of merchant guards. Through a network of other companies, the Christian Griffith & Sons Trading Co. purchase an Islamic trading outlet in the Caliphate, hoping to expand into the region. This Persian firm is based out of numerous coastal towns and trades across the Caliphate's Mediterranean coast, with a medium sized trade fleet, and a number of offshoot fishing fleets. Several of these vessels are refurbushed so that outwardly they remain the same, but in reality are adapted for war. They are equipped with the very latest cannon, and manned by those whom the Republic has covertly begun to recruit from the dissillusioned sailors of the Arabian lands. The firm also operates a number of fairly profitable caravans that travel between the Arabian peninsula and North Africa. In this manner, Griffith & Sons Trading Co. makes its first ventures into the Arab world.
  • Lan Xang: Makanism continues to spread. Muhammed (saw) has recently been incorporated as a prophet in the religion. Makanism is getting popular in the royal court due to it's worship of the King as God incarnate, the "God King." Makanist missionaries are active in Siam, Cambodia, and Malaya as well. The Catholic and Nestorian missionaries win over some converts, especillaly from the animists. Prophet Makan, claiming to be a final prophet, is encouraging the King himself to convert, so that God can be sent into his soul and he can be transformed into the Godking. There was a plot to kill Makan. However, he was sheltered at Pakse, and though Pakse was layed siege by buddhist radicals, the Makanist, Animist, Christian, and Moderate buddhist alliance was able to hold off the attackers. The victory at defending Pakse is now a Makanist holiday, where Makanists must fast. These are beginning to be known as the "Makan clashes." Makan invisions a further spread of his faith, to Tondo and to India. Makan proclaims that Makanists don't need holy places of worship, yet they are allowed to use Buddhist temples, Christian churches, Muslim Mosques. However, those are the only places they may worship if they wish. Even then, it is not nessasary, you can pray/meditate outside a place of worship. Makan sends in missionaries to Dai Viet to win converts there.
  • The Great Union of Korea and China withdraws its forces from Central Asia (which has been ceded back to Tartary), but signs a mutual pact rendering it a protected state (not protectorate, which implies the loss of suzerainty). The Emperor officially denounces Makanism, scrutinizing it an unholy union between two incompatible faiths. To counter its spread, it sends Korean Nestorianist/Orientalist-rite Christian missionaries to Indochina en-masse, and encourage other Christian denominations (particularly the Roman Catholic Church) to follow suit (PLAYER RESPONSE ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)). After affirming its status as the main Asian regional power in the Russo–Korean War, the government continues to construct industrial complexes aimed at augmenting the military-industrial sector, thereby consolidating state power (the basic internal policy of the dynasty). Commerce is also promoted, with merchant guilds flourishing. Due to external demand for exports, and the rise in food supply (due to the implementation of modern agricultural techniques and usage of high-yield crops such as maize and potatoes), a division of labour is made. Many peasants and serfs shift from an agrarian lifestyle to work in the cultivation of cash crops (such as tea or cotton) or in the production of luxury goods (such as porcelain and silk). As Lord Sui Wuseung formally retakes control over the Yunnan autonomous province, a group of Hui officials assassinate him and his sons, taking control of the court and formally declaring secession from the Union. As a result, twenty-thousand levies are sent to quell the revolt. The Emperor begins enacts the Hui Protocol: calling for the total extermination and eradication of the Hui ethnic identity. This results in the expulsion of various Hui enclaves, with many being forcibly converted back to Confucianism. Those who refuse are routinely massacred. In midst of the atrocities, the Korean tea culture continues to proliferate and diversify, with new variants being coined.
    • Makan's Envoy: Makan sends an envoy to Korea China, stating his religion is a religion of peace, and also brings up the fact that some of the first Makanists were originally Nestorian Christians. He also, however, sends the envoy to challenge the claim that buddhism, Christianity, and Islam are incompatible.
  • Malaya: The population has a new stance on Makanism, after seeing religious stability. Although Makanism becomes more common, laws on religious freedom prevent people from being forcefully converted, a scenario best left untouched. Karambunai has been selected to be the regional capital of Sabah. Several settlements are built along the coast and reserved for Arabs, in hopes that they will favor our offer and sell their colonies to us. The Kathedral Suria blueprints undergo slight changes to accomodate Makanists. In Penang, a trader writes down his adventures as a trader, in which he describes the many places his ship has docked in. The book, "Dua Laut, Tiga Benua" (Two Seas, Three Continents). This popular biography inspires more to take up trading, which is seen to improve the economy in the long run. Three hospitals are opened throughout the nation, which will help develop the nation further by healing the sick. Medical technology is imported from Korea-China to help. We improve relations with Lan Xang and Cambodia.
  • Kingdom of England, Ireland and Scotland: We keep shipping people into English Honduras to make money from the new coastal colony we control while Haiti also has people heading there The country continues to maintain a fiscal balance but this is easier now with crops from the new colony of English Honduras. Funding goes into universities and grammar schools with slowly rising literacy rates in the growing towns as enclosure leads to people have to leave rural life and find any work in the towns as well as the development of more trade with the New World and Asia. Privateers continue to take what they can everywhere. We try and buy Gujarat from Rashidun. Expansion of the Nay of Kost and New Canterbury farmlands. There is a small trickle of immigration from Ireland to English towns due to enclosures leaving a couple of people unemployed. Sir Isaac Newton and the royal society keep up the good work. Calculus is taught now in addition to the existing liberal arts with music theory and astronomy taking a decline to be replaced by calculus, this is taught in English rather than Latin because it was taken from the East to England itself. Construction of the strategic fortress in Cork, Ireland should take six years. Work keeps moving in Edinburgh. England has 5.7 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.6 million people and Scotland 1.1 million people. New canals continue to be built in England and Wales linking rivers and cities. Roads are also built to connect some areas as well with this new transport infrastructure building in an inter linked England and Wales. Changes in agriculture continue with enclosures in Ireland and land reclamation through ditches and windmill pumps and the rise of capitalism in farmers as internal markets allow sale of goods within England while four field crop rotation is near universal by now and mining of minerals such as coal and iron which Britain has while goods are brought in from the colonies like sugar, chocolate, bananas, tobacco and cotton for use in England sale to a wider market of Europe but duty tariffs externally are kept high.
    • English Arcadia: There is a continuing rise in the growing of tobacco and cotton as the largest supplier in the world primarily in the southern areas while furs come out of the north. More immigrants come in and volunteers are brought in from Africa while cash crops are taken back to England. The population is 1.3 million. The southern side of OTL Lake Ontario has settlers sent to it by boats crossing the lake with people settling the OTL towns of Oswego and Pulaski by building wharves and farmers several hundred farmers from Europe and colonists themselves even wanting land of their own or being offered cash incentives branching out around to get furs and grow crops suited to the area such as apples, corn and potatoes while some cows and sheep are moved in as livestock with these settlements being large enough to accommodate the spread out farmers.
  • Electorate of Saxony: The Saxons soon looked to buy some land in colonies to gain access to the valuable trade goods of the new world such as Tobacco, Indigo, Corn, Cotton, Sugar, and Furs. However, due to the fact that Saxon does not have a sea port of it’s own and has to rely on the good grace of 5 other HRE Vassals to get to the sea. Thus they begin stockpiling silver, gold, and other goods of value such as precious jewels to use to buy land from Burgundy or Britain in the new world once they acquire this see port. However, some of this gold is used to buy 20,000 more mercenaries. (Mod do RNG to determine their quality) These new mercenaries launch another assault on Meissen along with the forces already engaged in battle. Meanwhile, 2 simple letters are sent to Anhalt, and Brunswick-Gōttingen. They read the following "Become our vassals and you will become wealthy and powerful. Refuse and we will destroy you and erase any trace of your house." (Mod Response) (Note: I'd suggest Anhalt and Brunswick-Gōttingen don't say no)
    • Papal Diplomacy: (From last year): The Vicar-General thanks the Elector for his offer of Saxon troops, and whilst he is not in need of them right now, suggests that he might be in the near future. (Also, as far as I am aware, Saxony is Northern-Rite Catholic, not 'protestant' Kappelist)
  • They Both Say no and sign a defensive pact with themselves and Austria as their Guarentor -Feud
  • Tsardom of Belka: Under the Auspices of solidifying peace the Tsar accepts the Iberian terms and ends the war, withdrawing his forces but not before overseeing the handoff of Abruzzo and its region to the Italian League. The Tsar re-affirms his relationship with the Italian league and shares the spoils of war taken from the Sicilians with the League. With this finished the Tsar finally allows his son Petar to make his Debut. At 16 he is a strong willed leader with little love for the more nicety facets of diplomacy, but more due to personal reasons than lack of ability. He is known to be militarily unpredictable and is an undisputed strategic master. The Tsar following the notable victories in his life sets aside funds for the establishment of the Tarnovo War college, which is to become the study and spread of Belkas military doctrine to the officer corps. A plan to extend more war colleges to the rest of the country are thought of too with notable thoughts to be put into Vasiligrad as a naval war college, and Belgrad as the school of Belkan shock warfare which has proven to be the deciding factor in one of the engagements with the Sicilians. Tsar Constantine sends his congratulations to the Austrians and sends gifts and an envoy to view the coronation in Budapest. With so many distractions for nearly 2-3 generations there has developed a kindred spirit for the multitude of south slavs. The Dracultesti family being directly related to all the high ranking families of practically every ethnicity in the empire does wonders for stability. With such a unified presence unified behind shared experiences, a unified Belkan language which has been fully codified, the only divisive issue remains the recent inclusion of the unitarian Croatians. While there has been some tension between the orthodox preisthood and the unitarians, the relative ease with which Croatia was able to be integrated as a province and its large treasury which has not only funded the expansion of unifying systems in the empire, but also has led to the direct intervention on behalf of the Italian league leading to an extreme foreign policy success which makes up for the object failure the Great Turkish war was. The Tsar does, however, begin planning his next move as he begins rebuilding and investing in the infrastructure of Smyrna and Nicaea preparing to allow the nascent greek principalities to assume greater responsibility and as a result of the Tsars diplomatic finnegaling keep their independence of Belka as direct provinces and rather as protectorates.
  • Papal States: The Vicar-General of Rome sends members of the Mercedarian Order (an order of friars whose purpose is the ransoming of Christian slaves) around the Mediterranean in the hope of finding some evidence of where the Pope has been taken. In Rome, the Executive Council appears to be holding an ever-more tenuous grip on power, with anonymous handbills appearing around town calling them 'weak' and 'pathetic'. Smuggling activities increase. as central authority weakens. Msgr Paulo in Milan hears of this with despair. Missions continue in the New World, Japan, Korea-China, Lan Xang, and Southern Africa.
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: Due to the ingestion of Black Water, we quickly rename the liquid to Black Gold (لآمشؤن لأخمي), and we make it only accessible to the Sultan, high rank miners, and government officials. Mining has continued to produce more and more of the Water Rocks (Diamonds). Following the recent disruption in the Rashidun Caliphate, we will still support them, as will still see them as the nation that made Zayiyr holy. It has been ten years since Sultan Jalaal exiled his elder son, Aseel. We have heard that he has taken refuge in the M Kiova Kingdom, and send not only troops to secure his location, but we also send diplomats to possibly vassalize the M Kiova Kingdom [Mod].
  • Cambodia: Due to our failure at finding the "mysterious continent" to the south, King Chey Chetta III dismisses it as just a random tale told by an imaginative person. The majority of people are very happy with the Edict of Freedom of Religion, except radical Buddhists, who think that making freedom of religion legal is opening up Cambodia to "foreign faiths", and "destroying the fabric of Buddhism in Cambodia". These radical Buddhists have created a 9,000 strong army, called the National Front for the Liberation of the Khmer Nation, and they have staged riots and attacked peaceful Makanists celebrating the Makanist victory at Pakxe, killing 7 and injuring 31. The King is outraged, and officially condemns the National Front for the Liberation of the Khmer Nation, calling them "a disgrace to Khmer Buddhist society". Due to freedom of religion, Islam and Tuahism have now become the two largest religions in the coastal areas of Kampot, and Makanism is gaining followers in the north. Most of the main roads in the south of the country have been paved with cobblestone, and paving is underway in the north. The new capital of Reachathan is 60% complete, and will probably be finished in 1678 or 1679. We continue improving relations with our overlord Korea-China, Lan Xang, and Malaya, and also begin improving relations with Dai Viet and Tondo.
  • Russia: Construction of the Pacific Fleet continues. Heavy production of guns continues. The Tsar writes a letter to the Chinese-Korean emperor explaining that the building up of Russia's Pacific fleet is to prepare domination over Western Arcadia, promising Russian warships have a set destination between the two ports we currently posses. We continue upgrading our roads across the Tsardom. Russia would like to purchase the west bank of Lake Baikal from the Great Khanate (MOD RESPONSE). Post-Russo-Korean/Polish Wars, many returning soldiers whose only entertainment was guitar music, begin to make a new type of music focused on guitars, and some sort of percussion beat.
  • Bengal Sultanate: The nation continues on developing it's shipping industry in Burma with Mines in Bhutan creating much needed jobs in the region. 8,000 pounds of gold is mined out this year with another being discovered in a mine in Ahom. This gold pocket is 10% smaller than the pocket in Bhutan but is mined anyway and 5,700 pounds of gold is mined out. The Mining industry continues to increase because of this. Our Great Leader works on building up businesses and trade in the nation with total crop production soaring.  Roads and learning institutions continue to be developed and expanded to make trade much easier. The large naval ships have completed construction with all 30 "megaships" being built for the navy. 31,000 troops are put on reserve to be trained and used in the military.  In Padrina, the colony begins to work on making farms and expand on irrigation to grow crops. Cho Hitchay also orders the construction of more homes and roads which will take 2 years to establish a good road system. Horses are sent to the colony with other live stock for breeding and consumption. A sewer system is also worked on. Coffee seeds are sent to the colony to start producing coffee. Meanwhile, the tribes near the colony begin to show less concern and more of a friendly attitude towards the colonist with even some of there celebrations having invited colonist take part in there cultural events. They were promised better life and sustainability if they were to join the colony and they did. No pressure was placed upon them and on behalf of the current Sultanate were granted freedom of religion. Some of the tribal people began to learn a bit of broken Bengali and Burmese. the tribes were also taught how to grow crops and build their villages better as well. With this existence of unity, the colony expands 10px. The population of Padrina reaches 6500 due to more immigration and some of the tribal territory joining the colony. Weapons are planned to be sent to Padrina to form a small militia. Meanwhile, in Mistri and New Sahammas, ports are worked on to be key trading post with immigration growing in the two colonies. Mistri has begun to build 4 small ships and has received a shipment of flintlock guns to use in the military base there. In New Sahammas, the colony begins to communicate with the other nations of the island. Agriculturally speaking, the colony grows by 3px. In New Pandestria, the colony continues to grow and develop with Hipawray's becoming a sort of attraction for how exotic it is. The colony benefits from tourism and the island is developed into a place where the modern world meats the strange outdoors. Gunpowder and other weapons continue to be produced in yards across the nation. Chocolate and Silk continues to also be produced in mass numbers. Due to a deadly cyclone this year in a coastal town that killed 87, a seawall is pushed to be built to protect from flooding in hazardous low lying coastal areas.

1677[]

Christianity quickly spreads across the Athabaskan people.

Makanism reaches Dai Viet.

A new breed of horses is developed in Arcadia, used mostly for racing, colloquially known as the "Neigh of Kost".

Kiova does not become vassal of Zayiyr, but does offer marrying Aseel to a beautiful princess of the kingdom.

The Patriarch of Moscow is skeptical of this new music in Russia on whether it is godly.

The Brahman, named Chandrah Bose, grows immensely in popularity across Punjab, particularly among the Rajput princes. The Maharaja of Punjab invites him to the capital to talk frequently, which includes very radical ideas of how the world must be united under Vishnu for the Kali Yuga to end, slaying those that follow darkness.

Tondo expands trade, and explores the island of Sulawesi.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Economy and military improve. The Jaffarids begin supplanting members of the Ulema themselves, taking control over the religious system of the state as well as the secular. However, at the same time the Jaffarid Sultanate starts modernization reforms to the Calipahte, expanding its economy and infrastructure to keep on par with Europe while keeping it under their control. The Conference of Beyrut continues to show much promise, and many of the sales so far are satisfactory. However, as some regions are still not selling for quite enough, the Caliphate encourages more nations to participate. The Coptic people of Egypt settles down for the most part after the Ulema's internal reforms, satisfied with their new autonomy and economic governance. Meanwhile, the great alchemist Ahmed Sultah, secret identity of Iron Soldier, creates a Golum to help assist the Avengers to fight crime, named Al-Terran. However, Al-Terran becomes fully sentient and breaks free from his lab in Baghdad, reaking havoc and absorbing more clay to make an army of Golums. Al-Terran then forms a master plan to raise the city of Batman into the air a great height, before bringing it down to destroy the world. In a climactic battle, the Avengers work together to defeat Al-Terran and destroy him completely. Meanwhile, the Sultan of Cyprus hears of the work of the Order of Our Lady of Mercy, as well as the particular styles and honors given to Cornelius Secundus. From this evidence, the Sultan puts the pieces together to realize this man must be of great importance. Because of this, the Sultan has Cornelius secretly smuggled out from Salonika to the port of Jaffna in Palestine, keeping it secret from even the other prisoners that he had even left the country. He is kept in a humble fishing dock used as a front for Cypriot pirates, treated well. The troops in Morocco send military support and financial aid to the Humanist faction. The Viceroy of Egypt expresses his great pleasure to finally spread the democratic philosophies of the Caliphate to our colonies in the west, and by extenstion to all of Africa.
  • Kingdom of Sinkyone and Wiyot: We declare an attack for Christ and we attack pagan tribes - to be specific the Nomlaki, Yuki Coast and Yana(MOD RESPONSE). We also get a Population boom because of the use of european tech and crops like corn. We get some infrastructure and we also make actually ports in ikadal Coosic Gleneda. We also ask Iberia if we could get some architects to get us some tips on european building like castles (PLAYER RESPONSE). We also sponsor Mzerkan men to go found farms and houses outside our territory and we will pay each family that does it the whole travel plus six months in food. Mzer also grows to a population of 10,000 and send more people to the colonies but we do destroy old chipmunkish churches?
  • Malaya: Development of settlements in the Kra Isthmus begins. Schools for agricultural sciences open in the eastern states, helping to spur the breeding of new fruit varities. Rubber begins to be seen as a profitable resource and as such is cultivated on a large scale. Kuala Lumpur begins to resemble a typical European or Korean city. Pathways are upgraded in the style of Korean roads, and quarries open to supply the stone needed. Tin ore mined from local mines are used in the creation of bronze, which is exported in the form of metal bars, weapons and craft. We try to gain the favor of local Arab populations to help with purchases from the Rashidun Caliphate. The coastline of northern Borneo is at least 30% Malayan, with more settlements developing along the coast. The northernmost regions of Borneo will become a port city trading with Tondo when we reach there. Miners have discovered a strange black liquid in a copper mine in Johor. It is highly flammable and inedible. The mine has been sealed off for the safety of the local population.
  • Bengal Sultanate: The sultan works on developing the nation's colonies and inland towns by creating more mines in Ahom and expanding the area agriculturally to make a more wealthy inland society so that not only the coast is developing but inland regions of the nation are as well. In Padrina, 6,000 troops are sent their as a small army is starting to be developed so that the colony could be more self sustainable. The first coffe shipments leave the colony bringing money back in return making the economy mostly agriculturally based. Irrigation has been quite successful in the colony as well making dry fields into a great place to farm in. Villages from the tribal people that have submitted to the colony are developed into modern homes that fit best towards the direction of the tribal peoples liking. Meanwhile, back at home a treaty was held with Aryavarta and (Dev's Behalf) let go of Orissa and give it to us. In Burma, missionaries begin to spread islam across the region. Slowly, many people begin to convert to the religion. In Orissa, the newly conquered region given up after peace had been reached with us and Aryavarta begins to be developed. On the coast, homes are built to sustain the population and lower the rates of the homeless. Homes there previously are developed into much better looking ones fitting more modern standards. Much of the land is pushed to be used for farming. Ports are built and a new town is established named Orissa City. 1,000's of people begin to flock into the new area of development and quickly the area begins to boom. Tahva Co. moves their Main facility to the region and begins to build a shipyard for producing large wooden vessels. Coffee and Cotton begins to be produced with pottery also becoming a common business. 2 mines are planned to be put into service by next year for the area. With a very well growing and developing nation in progress, it seems that the nation's future is bright.
  • Lan Xang Response: Fearing sectarian tensions about to arise between the buddhists and the Muslim newcomers in rapidly changing burmaa, God King Phoutthasinh sends in 1000 Makanist missionaries to mediate the tensions in burma, and to spread Makanism there. He orders them not to try and convert the Muslims, but only the buddhists however.
  • In the Great Union of Korea and China, the Emperor is concerned as the rebelling Hui-controlled Yunnan province hastily seizes control of Guizhou and Sichuan to the north, and Guangxi to the west. In accordance to the newly-enacted Hui Protocol, hundreds of thousands of Hui are interrogated under suspicions of any involvement in the Yunnan revolt, and many forcibly relocated into concentration camps to segregate them from the mainstream population. The Emperor announces a state of martial law for provinces below the Yangtze River, also starting to build rudimentary fortifications in several major cities. To quell the Hui, Manchu Prince Kim Seokdu (baptismal name: Petar) is sent south along with rising General Fu Zhouse; both of which are Catholic convert. After their introduction, the tide turns in-favour for the Jin, as the Battle of Chengdu eventually leads to a Jin victory, and the capitulation of many Hui military officials.
    • Poland Dip: Tsar Stanislav agrees
  • Electorate of Saxony: The Saxons realize that military force may not be the best way to expand and offers 500 pounds of silver and 250 pounds of gold and the promise of military support of their 50,000 strong professional peacetime military in any wars who will become a vassal of Saxony and those nations who don’t want vassal ship could be offered a personal union with Saxony under certain conditions. (HRE States Response Needed [Minus Burgundy-Prussia, Austria, and Bohemia as they are highly unlikely to accept) Meanwhile, heavy trade sanctions are imposed upon Anhalt, and Brunswick-Gōttingen. As while their treaty with Austria may save them from the military wrath of Saxony the same cannot be said for Saxony’s economic might and such heavy trade sanctions are emplaced on Anhalt, and Brunswick-Gōttingen that they will collapse from economic collapse by 1680.

  • Meanwhile, in Aryavarta, the people wonder what is wrong with the people of Punjab and their royal family. The news is widely popular about the Bengali Brahman of Punjab. At first the people wonder how did a Bengali get to Punjab. After this there is no end to laughter-1) The Brahman first says that the Kali Yuga is coming to an end directly disregarding the words of Krishna (who is an incarnation of Vishnu), that the Kali Yuga will end in the first 10,000 golden years. The fact that the people still believe in God and that the Brahman himself does so, disproves the words that after 10,000 years, the people wont believe in God.' He overrules the Bhagvad Gita (the most important book of Vaishnavism of which the Krishanites are a part of). 2) He then says that Shiva is tyrranous, then the people start claiming that he is Kalki (who will be an incarnation of Shiva).  3) He then says that the world needs to be united under Vishnu. He directly overrules the words of the Bhagvad Gita and the Vishnu Puran, which the people believe are more than 3000 and 1000 years old, the belief is that the Gita was written by Krishna himself and that the Vishnu Purana explains Vishnu and is a very old book. He says that the people must trepass their duties (dictated by the Gods), disregard the secularism of the Gita, the Purans and the Veds, kill people who follow a different faith than their own. He overturns each and every word of the holy books. 4) The people and even the kids know the basic stuff. He overturns everything and mixes a Shaivite-Vaishnavite ideology to unsuccessfully enrage the people over this issue. 5) A Bengali Brahman moves through Aryavarta into Punjab in the Marathi speaking area, a non-local and gains such great popularity with every non-sensical and logic-less stuff he can grab at. What a shame ? 6) To kill or even disrespect the other sects and religions, these Vaishnavites will have to swear by the Bhagvad Gita and the Vishnu Purana which in effect nullifies all their anger into secularism. And no, these books are highly respected and wont be substitued by a madman's words. Irony at its best. The people regularly talk over this issue and hope that the people of Punjab will overcome this madness. A man popularly known as Gabbar Singh, raises this issue in the council, a very influential member of the Arya Samaj. He sets out to Punjab with an army of 10,000, complete with pundits and pujaris from the most holy shrines of Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism and Bhaktism, to end this madness. With the Punjabi army battling the Aryavartiya forces in the north, he quickly moves into southern Punjab. The people of Punjab are re-educated (the adamant followers), and they follow these pundits and pujaris as they come from the ultmate place of worship of Vishnu.
  • Bengali Dip: We do not agree with your attacks on Punjab and you are pressuring us to enter another conflict in less then a decade. We advise you to stay out of Punjab and leave them in peace with you as we will not tolerate this any longer and we want to avoid war but you are increasing your risk of conflicting with us in possibly a bloody battle.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. We start adapting Arcadian plants, such as tobacco, chocolate, potato, tomatoes and other plants to the Swahili climate in the Madrassa of Mogadishu..
  • Lan Xang: Eventually seeing his growing influence as a threat, the Lan Xang King ordered Makan killed, despite Makanism's officially peaceful stance. This caused a massive outroar, and general Leilani Phoutthasinh launched a coup, making Makanism the official religion. The former King begged for forgiveness, which God King Phoutthasinh granted. Rather than executed him, the former King was sent to exile to live in poverty. The God King keeps the stance as a Chinese tributary, and promises not to spread Makanism into China or East Asia. He, however, sends more missionaries into Siam, Cambodia, Malaya, and Champa. However, decides not to send any to Dai Viet to aviod China's wrath. He also sends 100 missionaries on a "long journey" to India, to start a small community in Aryavarta. Makanists, buddhists, and Christians live in peace. The God King does what he can to peacefully convert people of those faith, and especially converts animists. (NOTE: God King title is from the fact that the King is the carried along incarnation of God like Jesus and Buddha were)
    • Hmong Heavenly Princedom: The Hmong were among the first people to embrace Makanism. However, since there can only be one King, they are now a Princedom, which is simply a name change.
    • Papal Diplomacy: The Head of the Catholic Mission in Lan Xang approaches the 'God King' and requests permission from his majesty to bring more Immaculata missionaries into Lan Xang.
  • Russia: The new music whilst questioned by the Patriarch grows popular among young people and peasants. Several small groups form such as the so called "Sky Chariots" who make something known as vodka music. Their song "Chasing Rabbits" becomes popular for many drinkers. One group called The Bears from Gorod Vostok do create a popular song for the hardships of Siberia, it is called "House of the Winter Sun". Also in Siberia ship building continues. More expositions east are launched discovering two islands off the southern part of the Binkov sea. Gun production stays in overdrive, and we offer cheap weapons for anyone to buy.
  • Tsardom of Belka: With the rise of the ostensibly surprising force of the Sultanate of Rum the Tsar turns over planning of a contingency plan for the Rise of Rum begins planning the involvement of the Belkan main army as well as its now back to stable patrol, war fleets. Tsar Constantine invites Karasi, Mentese, and Aydin as protectorates of Belka. Large investment incentives and guarentee of their autonomy are provided so as to prevent their fall to the overly aggressive Sultanate of Rum (mod). The war in italy now over, much funding is removed from the army as it is brought back down to a more moderate level at 60,000. ,this strength being the maximum the Tsar can justify in peacetime still costs a good fortune. The Fleet on top of this costs even more and the Tsar begins consulting the admiralty for a rotation mechanism in order to prevent outrageous naval costs. The population of Belka reaches roughly 13.5 million and growing. The Belkan military does begin considering installing one of the successors of the captured Ottoman sultan on the throne in the Ottoman throne and begins working on the movement for this.
    • All of the states agree. ~Wolvesmod
    • Mentese and Aydin agree, Karasi does not (just to be fair) -Nate
Expansion of the Bay of Kost and New Canterbury farmlands.
The southern side of OTL Lake Ontario continues to receive directed migration to the area with the 2 landing points continuing to receive more farmers branching out around the area. These Neigh of Kosts are raced in New Essex.
  • Pirate Republic: Escalante is elected Vice-Executor of the Pirate Republic, supported by the Executor himself, the Dread Pirate Roberts. In honour of his great achievements on the high seas, he is promoted to Admiral and 2nd Sea Lord of the Black Fleet. The Great Plan, as the topmost officers refer to it in confidence, continues. Down both African coasts the lines of supply depots and readied landing spots continue to be expanded, and a number of land routes linking them are mapped. Upon the inititiation of Operation Desert Storm, named by Escalante himself, a dozen pirate vessels are to establish themselves in a harbour near the Horn, with two dozen more spread up the West Coast. Elsewhere, in the latter part of the year the Duet family welcome a healthy infant son, the heir to the new family merger, solidifying the claim upon their combined fortunes. The Duet family empire continues to spread, in particular the London based Griffith & Sons Trading Co, which is quickly becoming one of the world's largest trading firms, primarily due to being left entirely untouched, and even guarded, by the Republic, and the huge amount of financing and trade they receive through backchannels from the pirates. In North Africa, the Reaper cavalry units continue to train on their high quality thoroughbred Arabian horses, purpose bred for travelling long distances at speed with heavy loads. They take delivery of another 300 such horses, all aged below ten, meaning there are now some 900 horses for the 300 men. The Persian wing of the Duet family holding company, which now wholly owns Griffith & Sons Trading Co., purchases several more caravans in the region, in particular covertly hiring several dozen fishing vessels on long leases along the coastal region. The Persian Director states in a private board meeting that he does not wish its competitors to become aware of its interests until it is firmly consolidated in the area. Meanwhile, in France, the Duet's network of agents, spies and informants continues to spread through society, parallel to the Republic's own spy network submerged in the navies, port authorities and trading firms of many Western nations. The Duet couple grows in fame in Parisian society, with the husband, Henri, often being entertained at the King's court when he returns home annually from his business in the Caribbean. In the Caribbean, the Republid continues to flourish off French, Burgundian and Iberian shipping, particularly due to a lack of any real escalation of anti-piracy operations in recent years. The Fleet now numbers some 150 ships, with 10,000 Reapers, mainly distributed as marines across the Fleet and guarding bases, as well as participating in land based activities such as coastal raising and sporadic banditry, all targeted at the rich of course.
  • Papal States: With the Executive Committee in Rome appearing weaker and weaker by the day, Monsignor Paulo, the Legate of Milan and the nephew of the missing Pope, marches from Milan to Rome at the head of his Milanese troops and militia. He enters the city and walks up to the Apostolic Palace, where he informs the Vicar General that he will be taking over the governmental administration of the Papal States. Kind of relieved, the Vicar General hands over the secular governance of the States to Msgr Paulo. The latter immediately begins restoring order. Smuggling is cracked down on, an 11pm curfew is enforced in Rome for three months whilst crime and anti-government activities are dealt with, the Papal Guard is reinforced, and Paulo's troops from Milan also help with the whole restoring stability thing. Furthermore, Paulo ups the ante on the search for his uncle the Pope. The Mercedarians report back to Paulo, informing him that they ave found the Pope, who is currently incognito in the Sultanate of Cyprus. The friars return to Cyprus, only to find that he has been moved! The search continues. In the New World, missionaries are sent to Athabaska to help their conversion and provide them with the sacraments. Missions continue in Korea-China, Japan, the New World, and Southern Africa.
    • Bishopric of St Peter-in-Brazil: The arrival of a priory of canonesses of the Order of Adelphina greatly assists the Bishop's drive to educate the local natives in Christianity. A number of younr natives and colonists have alredy felt vocations to serve in the Order, with one young man training to be an Adelphinian priest and three young women in the novitiate. The sisters of the Prayerful Association of Our Lady of Pituba are mildly annoyed that the Adelphinians are taking away some of 'their' vocations.
  • Maghreb: The Caliph movement of troops is seen as a forgien attack in the view of many liberal factions in the poltical circle, this causes protest in Rabat as more Humanist Imams to go underground causing an imam named Ali Rasfan (a Imam of Persian decent) and a group of 300 men to flee into the desert, this causes rumors of a rebel army while other see them as moving imams. Trade is continued with Spain,France,The Caliphate,Mali and Zaire causing the economy to grow. Dates and Fez become more famous, but sadly fez were later turned into a poltical statement to stand with the Caliphate. The tension of Caliphate troops causes more people to feel disenfranchised as they feel more like a forgen land then muslim land. This causes Ali Rasfan to become more and more famous among the youth as more protest and riots happen across the Maghreb,This causes 3 major event in the Maghreb, where the faction of the army that fell into mutiny become more armed as more troops and ater on people join the streets to protest with them, this causes some troops and protesters to fight with the army in tiny riots, the Islamist faction begins to grow more of a follwing as nothing is there to stop them but later falls due to infighting among leaders, this casuses the majorty of imam Badr (one of the imam of the past faction, seen as the most resonable leader) to protst with troops. Humanist faction begin to hold more protest in Rabat under the banner of Rasfan, but aid from the Caliphate causes a rift in the faction causing 2 factions to form 1 under Sadir Al Maqdir (pro Caliphate/open to Caliphate) and the orginal Rassfan faction, this casues more protest by humanist that later fall into riots with Maqdir's faction, seeing an opening Islamist faction (Badr) aline himself with them under an idea of a Muslim State under Shura while allowing the right to protest and things like that seeing a common foe the mutiny faction joins arms with the new group and are named "Al Mahreb Al Gharbiu". Ali Rasfan begins to gain support from people in the Dahara region.
  • Rashidun Dip: The Ulema agrees to give Morocco more say and more civil liberties, not only to restore order to the region, but also to match the new liberities of other groups within the Calipahte at the same time.
    • Tajammad Emirate: The Emirate works on preparing for the cold seasons by collecting firewood during the summer. Walls and Houses are reworked on to defend the "Ansari" from animals. Hunting parties are sent to hunt down animals and eat them, while some are killed for their winter fur. A mosque is made called Al Hawqk and is made in hope of rivaling other Mashjids. Haush land is given to Tajamidan people to rule these areas are called "Forts". New World food is sent back home to be traded. Our ships begin to train on how to sail the rocky seas to reach the Pacific Ocean and study the ways to the Pacific Ocean. Due to the way of the New World women are given more physically as in helping create the wall or guarding areas. The port (not the best or biggest) of Tajammad is re-made along with ocean defense walls and gun ports made along with 50 cannons. The population stands at 30,720 people with a slow rise in pop. The Ona state is annexed into the Emirate and Ona majority areas are put under an Ona that accepted Islam named Hassan al Badr but some question his loyalty and if he converted just to gain power, Islam with the Ona people slowly rise as a 50% percent in the Ona Population become muslim, as the Ona state is named the Ona Bukrain. Seeing the killing of Tajjamdians the State begins to hold up strong military view as the Emir begins to arm more colonist.
    • Emirate of Al Maqadas: The Emirate is set up in Port Alegre and walls and houses are placed up to bring cover to the population of 17,000 people. A port is worked on. The Emirate begins to expand across the coast by 7 px. More Arms and sent to Emirate to help arm the people of the Emirate.

The message is relayed from California to the Vatican whether the Chipmunkist sacred halls should be destroyed.

An alchemist in Malaya discovers how to oxidize cow's milk.

Manak missionaries appear in Burma, and are immediately noted by the local government.

The Rajput princes are not laughing. An influential Raja in southern Punjab takes on the name Parashurama, and is sworn as the assistant of Chandra Bose, the Kalki, in his endeavors. The followers of Bose piously adhere to Hindu scriptures, but it has been the Shaivites to twist its interpretation for the dominence of Shiva, as opposed to Kalki who is in fact the avatar of Vishnu. As the Aryavarta armies invade Punjab, the followers of Bose spread insurgencies across Aryavarta's border, radicalizing the people there.

Although Makan's death is seen as a great tragedy, rumors exist in Lan Xang that he is not permenantly dead, but that his soul continues to minister in secret as a ghost.

A great controversy exist in the Orthodox Church if this Vodka Baroque music is blasphemous.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: The economy and military improve. The Jaffarid Sultanate works to modernize the military and bring it up to the standards of Belka and Russia, with modern line formation and so forth. The Jaffarids also improve the economy, and increase education for all citizens. The Sultan even considers the creation of a mandetory education services. The Conference of Beyrut winds down considerably, and the Caliphate doesn't consider it will last much longer. Most of the current offers seem very favorable to both the Ulema and the Sultan, with the exception of the Kingdom of Baloch which still seems to be going independent, asside from the offer of Morocco. In Palestine, the barbary pirates capture an informant for the Italians, who mentions the Order of Our Lady of Mercy is seeking after the Holy Father Cornelius, who had been captured by Pirates three years ago. The pirates at last come to the shocking realization that they had been sitting on the Pope of Rome this entire time, and not understood. So they send a coded message to the Caliph in Damascus, asking what they should do now that the ruler of the Ahl Al-Kitab is now in House of Islam. Rather than wait for the Caliph to respond, the pirates blindfolds Cornelius and takes him to an unknown location in Lebanon, in order to keep one step ahead of the Italians and especially the Immaculata. The Avengers are still great heros. To address Morocco, the Shay Al-Nass reports to the Jaffarid Sultan that there are three factions at war, one being based on the dignity of man (humanist), one based on greed (military), and one based on piouty (islmaist). In order to end this conflict, the Ulema writes to the House of Leaders in Algiers that Caliphate will repay all the rogue military, as well as grant much more autonomy to the humanists. The new rights of Morocco will include having political influence over the secular administration in the Middle East. The military returns home having triumphantly defeated its foes, but 300 mercenaries from Egypt are given to the Sultan to put down any protests.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot: Our first stone building in the name of a palace is made. (BTW, DID I CONQUER the Nomlaki, Yuki Coast and Yana). We also begin to use corn as food and this needed way less labour for the same amount food to be excact now we work 50% more efficient. We also ask The Vatican to give us aid to begin a crusade and conquer pagan Tribes.(player response)
    • Yes, success. -Natemod
    • Papal Diplomacy: The Papal Nuncio to English Arcadia (the closest direct representative of the Pope) sends the King tools and some weapons along with a group of priests to serve the population. The Nuncio declares that where the locals have converted, then Chipmunk halls should be either converted into churches, or destroyed. Particularly fine artwork (statues, metalwork, masonry) should be preserved for posterity. The Nuncio also gives his blessing to the Mzerkas converting pagan tribes.
    • Mzerkan Dip: We ask the Papal States if we could get Some Munks to our nation that can transelate many european texts and songs. We would also ask them for European architecture and Painting techniques. Diltwa also personaly asks the Vatican for a bible and a more European name and to get recognision of ownership of land over coastal California. In return for these matters we will Give the Papecy land that will be 2.5 km² for every church.
    • Papal Dip: The Immaculata priests already in the kingdom begin the task of leasrning the language in order to make translations of the Bible, as well as the Mass, and other European texts/songs/literature. They write to Rome for a group of monks to be sent, but they won't arrive until late next year. The priests baptise Diltwa (if he hasn't been already, if he has they give him Confirmation) and they give him the name 'Amadeus' meaning 'love of God'.
  • Karnad Empire: We start rebuilding our navy of 1200 ships. The sails are strengthened and cannons are installed on the ships. Calibre's of our cannons are standardised. We greatly improve our economy. An elite invading force of 50,000 men is trained in Mysore. The government focuses more on the export of Golconda diamonds, cotton textiles and sugar. Exquisite Handicrafts and arts are exported. A naval complex is in construction near Pondicherry. The government, army and police are reorganised. The army is now directly recruited by the state. A two-year council of scholars of the languages of Karnad is called for the creation of a unified South Indian language. 3 State Universities open up in Mysore, Amravati and Madurai. Temple economies in Karnad thrive. We request Iberia for cultural and technological exchange and a trading pact. (Player Response) A school for foreign languages is set up in Mysore.
    • Is this not over the maximum ship number? I'm not sure so MODs?
    • If we are talking a 'modern navy', then the maximum number of ships is two main modern fleets consisting of a maximum of 150 ships tops each" (assuming Karnad is navy-focused) per the rules. If a pre-modern navy, then the number is still too high, per my interpretation of the rules. ~Cal
  • Malaya: We continue urbanisation in less developed areas. Major cities undergo another major upgrade in infrastructure to accomodate more citizens and have a bit more room to breath. This brings larger cities and better roads. Chinese medicine is a common sight in hospitals as European methods are deemed unsanitary and not proven to help. Ships are stationed in the Gulf of Siam to reduce piracy in the area. The Queen decides that Malaya will need more protection in the future, and announces that 40 more ships will be built and added into the Royal Navy. It will take a few years for the ships to be completely ready. Ships from earlier periods are scrapped and their parts used for the new ships. We continue to expand to the north of Borneo, and expect to reach the northernmost point in a few years time. Karambunai begin trade with Brunei, which is convenient due to the proximity between the cities.
    • What the hell is oxidized cow milk?
    • Possibly an ingredient of formaldahyde.
  • Lan Xang: The God King does not dismiss the theory that Makan's soul lives on. However, says that no matter if he is in heaven or still a ghost, all Makanists must grieve their Prophets loss. In order to show his religious tolerance, God King Phoutthasinh offers a personal union with Cambodia, without requiring them to convert to Makanism, allowing them to stay buddhist, this way, there can be "checks and balances" for Makanism." Meanwhile, industries are increased, with blast furnaces and Korea-Chinese firearm production increased. Lan Xang makes it clear that they are a loyal tributary to Korea-China still. Makanist, buddhists, and Christians are living in relative harmony with the papal missions continuing. The Hmong heavenly princedom is fully annexed, as they have been "civilized." Meanwhile, after going on a trip to Bengal, The God King is pleased by their architecture, and orders places of worship modeled in their style of Mosque, and keeps the capital in Chinese layout, but begins building a fair amount of the buildings in it in bengali architecture, along with the other cities of Lan Xang. More Makanist missionaries are sent to Siam, Camobodia, Champa, bengal and malaya. Dai Viet is avoided due to its importance in Korean and Chinese culture. The God King orders 50 Malayan Makanists to spread Makanism further in other states in Indonesia, the European protectorates. The God King accepts the papal requests, saying, "i'm not here to stop you. Christians have my protection. We live in peace."
  • Pirate Republic: The Republic continues its operations started over the previous two years. The Duet's family's wealth, power and influence continues to grow. The Persian holding companies now covertly own some two dozen warships ships on Egypt's Mediterranean coast, along with several hundred fishing vessels. Roughly 30 Republic ships are located in several of the hundreds of Greek islands by now, along with the two dozen Griffith & Sons Trading Co. escort warships manned secretly by the crews of the Republic. The 300 Reapers in North East Africa continue to train with their 900 fine Arabian horses, now brought up to 1200. All of the horses are now aged between ten and twelve years. In France, the network of Duet agents continues to grow, and many of their opponents in court suffer coastal raids from the Republic. Several Republic vessels based on the eastern coast of Africa begin to foray towards the Indian peninsula and it is on their way across the ocean that they discover a chain of islands (modern day northern Maldives). The pirates establish a small base on one of the islands, and from here a dozen or so ships begin to prey on shipping in the area. It is during these encounters with Karnadian vessels that the pirates discover the rich pickings of the Golconda diamond trade. News is sent back to the Americas, and several more ships are dispatched to the region, yielding very profitable results. It is hoped that the Karnad Empire may one day be as profitable to the Republic as the pluckings of French, Iberian and Burgundian trade in the Caribbean.
  • I think your wholly overestimating your abilities. Your competing with extremely large groups in the region of which one I have personally fought a war to keep others out. So no, get out, come back legitimately. Stop overstating your boundaries for a small pirate state in the carribbean -Feud
  • Tsardom of Belka: The continual push of the empires finances into the positive helps as the Tsar begins seeing fruits of the integration of Croatia. while some resistance exists from the implementation of the Jugoslavic/Belkan language into the society of Croatia, it becomes clear they have come into the minority. With much of the Empires upper levels and freeman speaking Belkan in every day usage with levels of Serbian, Bulgar and other falling dramatically through the lower classes. Its usage as the main trade, buiness, and military language has given rise to a natural growth of the language in lesser households due to the sheer societal inertia behind needing to learn the language. Patrols detect some ships from the pirate republic. This leads to the Tsars Aegean shield Garrison to be immediately deployed with nearly 15,000 troops who go about attempting to Seize ships which unbeknownst to the Pirate republic are located nearby the dozens of forts scattered around the islands which have been manned since the Great Turkish war. With the ships seized the Tsar begins to draw up plans to permanently expel the republic and its associates from the Meddeterrnean for good showing extreme predjudice towards killing any and all members of the republic found in the Medditerrenean on any mission except a legitimate business venture. The Tsar also sees the final touches to the Trieste Strategic fortress implemented forcing all would be invaders to meet the Tsars forces at the Strategic fortress in order to continue on. The city of Zagreb also sees its final renovations into a proper imperial provincial capital and also sees a significant Belkan community settle in the city numbering almost 10,000 while others in the nearby countryside have also settled thanks to Croatias pristine infrastructure.
    • Yo Feud, just wanted to point out that there are technically no pirates in the Mediterranean: they aren't attacking any ships- Im not stupid enough to put pirates in the midst of all the most powerful nations :), and they're preparing to act as guards for trade companies as an alternative income. None of the ships are doing any moving, they are all hidden in coves on the farthest undiscovered islands from Belka, so they would not be detected and can continue peacefully. Those that arrive are travelling on their own every few weeks, as merchant guards, and only the Captains know of their destinations. The ships are hidden and doing nothing to aggravate you, and haven't broken any laws. To ease your mind, I can confirm they have nothing to do with you. As a result, I'd like to request that you edit your turn as I believe it implausible under the circumstances- none of the ships have done anything wrong or illegal and they're all hidden anyway. What would merit the Tsar to attack innocent merchant convoys? From an official standpoint, the Republic has nothing to do with the Med and has no illegal activities in the area- that's the role of Barbary Corsairs who by nature would be against the Black Fleet. Also, there are some 6000 Greek islands, of which modern day only 227 are inhabited- it is unlikely they would ever be found by accident. Yours, Emp
    • Of those 6000 how many can reliably house ships? Of those 6000 you have no idea which ones I have catalogued or manned (and its a rather significant amount). The Aegean shield is a massive string of forts which have been manned and expanded for nigh on a century and houses at minimum 15,000 troops on a bad day. On a good day like right now the forts are fully manned, and fully patrolled. I have enough manpower and ship power to catch at lease one ship and get the info on the rest. or just plain and simple discover them by chance since I do regularly catologue and patrol these islands as a very fine facet of my defensive doctrine. so no you cant just camp out in the islands with impunity. If I find more ships I will burn them, you are not going through proper channels and are using my land without my consent. Get out or get burnt -Feud
    • Feud I have to object to this- the mysteries of the Greek islands are well documented, and there are many records of fugtives disappearing entirely among them. Also please remember that you have far more than 6000 islands; there are at least amother thousand in Croatia for example. There is no way you have plausibly manned or periodically search a majority of these islands. You would have no excuse for torturing or bribing the captains of any ships you find, as the ships have a legitimate purpose aside from using the islands. They are only in transit during the time it takes to arrive, and since they're doing nothing illegal during transit why would the navy seize innocent ships and torture their captains? I am sorry but I believe it is perfectly plausible that I can hide a small number of ships on an island without your knowledge, since their only crime is trespassing, and even then (depending on nautical law of the time), you may not own all of the undiscovered ones since you can't claim things that may not exist-Emp
  • Bengal Sultanate: With the appearance of the foriegn missionaries, we do not truly care too much about them converting people to their religion as long as it does not affect the muslims of the nation. We continue to send missionaries into Burma to convert more people into Islam voluntarily and the muslim population rises because of it. 200 ships are sent off the coast of Andhra and 100,000 troops are sent to the border wall in order to push Aryavarta to stop attacking Punjab. In Padrina, the colony grows extensively in agriculture and a shipyard is built and produces 2 medium sized merchant vessels for trade. The tribal people begin to quickly adapt to the change. they are taught to grow our foriegn crops and learn to build and construct their own buildings. Our great leader gives the natives's of Padrina rights to vote in local elections. A new town with a native majority is established named Madriku in the northern part of the colony. In New Panestria, ships continue to be produced with coffee becoming the main exported item. In the mines of Mountianous Bengal, gold and silver continues to be excavated with 14,000 pounds being excavated this year. A mint is established in New Sahammas to produce Silver and Copper Tahka's. In a new mine in Padrina that had been worked on being made last year by Dai Co. shiny clear and yet hard gems are found being identified as Diamond's. With this news, it seems that their is now another way for the colony to gain more money. Irrigation is also worked on there to compete with the sometimes dry climate. Roads are established in Padrina to make travel more easier. Back in Bengal, weapons and gunpowder are still heavily produced wth most navy ships now having Cannons and the Magaship fleet now the most advanced ships in all of Southeast Asia. In Orissa, the province continues to develop with homes becoming more modern for the region and well built. Shipyards are built along the coast to produce ships for merchant and fishing companies. Fishing companies make a big comeback in the mediteranian as exotic fish become more popular. Bhutan continues to develop and the same goes for everywhere else owned by our nation. The economy in Ahom and Bhutan especially. Hipawray's continue to be very popular pets and now 1 out of every 500 people have them as a pet. Padrina continues to influence other tribes around the area and expand 6px NW. We offer an alliance with Lan Xang. So far besides the situation between Aryavarta testing us, everything seems to be going well.
    • Lan Xang: The alliance is accepted. The King requests some of bengals finest architects to help redesign the capital with the architecture he likes.
    • Bengal: We send 104 of our finest architects.

Many of the restrictions he pu in place last year have been relaxed, and the people have come to quite like Paulo. The Mercedarian friars, having discovered the location of the Holy Father in Palestine, they are about to close in and ransom him when they discover they are too late! The Merdecarians continue their search, but in Rome, Msgr Paulo pieces the evidence together: They know the identity of the Pope. With the wedding to take place on the border of Kiova and Zayiyr, large preparations for the marriage begin. Sultan Jalaal brings up the idea of a con-joining of both nations following the marriage, of which the Kingdom of Kiova and the Sultanate of Zayiyr will unite to create the Al-Afrika State, an Islamic state would be consisting of member states Zayiyr, Kiovo, Loango, and Tio. The State would revolve around islamic laws and culture, while language would remain individual to each region, however, Standard Arabic will be taught to the youthful citizens, as to fully diverge the state into Islam. Technology will be moved between the states. Sultan Jalaal sends a letter to the King of Kiova, stating: "This is the year of celebration and harmony within Zayiyr and Kiovo. The united state would become a reigning power in Sub-Saharan and South Africa". Aseel and his wife Werababa will be given the title of Emperor and Empress (Mod).

A minor famine in Ireland causes large-scale immigration to England.

The Kingdom of Kiova, ally of Zayiyr, although supportive of the idea of an African state, will take time considering the possibility while continuing cultural exchanging.

Parashurama sends Chandra Bose and a moderate military to invade southern parts of Ayravarta, stirring up the populace and military into violence.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: The military and infrastructure is improved under the Jaffarid Sultan. The military is modernized to match those of western Europe, both in training and technology. The local economy and material production is also greatly modernized to keep up to date with Europe and on top of the east. In order to test out the growing military, the Caliphate and the Sultanate of Cyrprus begin moving in on Egypt and Libya to expel the incursion of Pirates. The economy improves tremendously, as the Conference of Beyrut has come to a close. The enormous amount of wealth obtained from the conference completely brings the Caliphate out of debt, and creates a large surplus from which it can focus on rebuilding the nation completely from the Seventh Fitna. The Ulema receives the coded message from Jaffna, and thus the Caliph prepares a general proclomation against the Ahl Al-Kitab in Europe, declaring they have been vanquished with their holy leader held for ransom in the House of Islam. However, return emissaries from the Caliph discover that the pirates left Jaffna to an unknown location. For this reason, the Ulema dispatches a secret mission of agents led by Al-Ramee (The Archer) and Ankabut Al-Aswed (The Black Spider), members of the Avengers, into Lebanon in an attempt to find the Pope before the Italians do. Personally, the Avengers do not like the concept of ransoming prisoners, but they are duty-bound to the Caliph. Meanwhile, a secret organization known as A'ddar (Hydra), claiming to have been around as long as the Rashidun, attempt to take over the whole government of the Viceroy of Basra. An elite team of heroes led by Captain Arabia manage to hunt down and defeat the leaders of this organization, but some members escape. In total, the Conference of Beyrut has given us 16,415 pounds of gold (plus 8500 pounds of gold from base amount), 1650 pounds of silver, 1100 pounds of English coal, 300 pounds of tin, 100 pounds of Sabahan wood, 13,800 pounds of sugar, 1500 pounds of spice, 1100 pounds of bananas(?), 100 pounds of chocolate, 100 pounds of tea, 100 pounds of coffee, 16,000 pounds of tobacco, 13,000 pounds of cotton, 1200 pounds of silk, 1100 pounds of fur, 200 pounds of tulips, 772 guns, three English ships, 400 technical books, and 50 Prussian paintings.
    • Nate, sorry what? There has been no piracy or otherwise illegal activities in the area, my only operations have been secret and outside of your territory, save for 300 people using the flat expanse of the African plains to train in horse riding (again, not illegal). None of my ships are in your waters, and more importantly none are attacking your shipping. Why attack people that you don't know exist for no reason? -Emp

  • Biarchy of Crete: Agriculture feeds our economy, and with this, we start to build up a military, hoping to modernize our island. The two rulers decide the Biarchy could be replaced soon, but this is not offical. We would like to establish a trade alliance with Belka, and possibly a military alliance [Belka Response Needed]. Our population is growing at a moderate pace.
    • Belka Dip: We agree to both a trade agreement and will discuss on the terms of an alliance but an alliance is highly desireable.
    • Rashidun Caliphate: The Ulema reiterates their support for the nation we established generations ago, where the Arab and Greek populations live in harmony. We remind Crete of the hard times it had in recent years with Belka, including the 3000 slain in the Hereklion Massacre and subsequent occupation of Crete during the Great Turkish War, where Belka used the island as its base by force. We therfore offer an alliance between the Biarchy and the Sultanate of Cyprus, who controls our navy.
  • Crete: We accept the alliance offer and will be happy to work with the Sultanate In the near future.
  • Maghreb Trade: We contine our trade with Europe and Africa as traders meet up in smaller city due to protest, The Maghreb also begins to try its hand at the spice and salt trade via selling more salt and spices, gold is slown down to prevent inflation. Government: The Sultan is split between two factions in his left over army where they plan in a military safehouse in Algiers, one plan is to attack the Western Maghreb as the other want to halt and wait for the Western Maghreb to attack then attack in return Current Event: The group "Al Maghreb Al Gharbiu" denies the peace offering due to the fact that mercenaries will be ruling the street and continue protesting in Rabat Algeris and now begin to grow/gain support in Casablanka and Tunis, this helps Islamist like Badr as the idea of an Islamic Democracy become the ideology of the group, this is easily summed up when a troop is heard saying "the calls for reform is turning to the calls of Takbir as Rabat becomes my state" (not declaring freedom)
  • Rashidun Dip: We send mlitary aid to train the leaders of the Pro-Rashidun government. We reiterate our offer to give payment to the military and give autonomy to Morocco, allowing them to run their nation and influence politics in the Middle East. Military pulls out.
  • Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot: We declare a crusade against pagan tribes to be specific these tribes: Patwin tribe, Northern Pomo, Central Pomo, Kashaya and Konkow [1](MOD RESPONSE). We now give some land to the Vatican/the church. We also begin to cloth more european even so that Diltwa wears a toga-like cloth around himself. He also renames himself to Amadeus Diltwa. He also asks other noblemen to become more European and speak Portuguese and not Dene.
  • Cambodia: Responding to Lan Xang's God King Phouttasinh on the matter of a Personal Union, King Chey Chetta III respectfully declines, but offers to marry one of his daughters with the God King, thus forging very close ties. The King then goes on to say that if he dies without an heir, then God King Phouttasinh would be the heir to the Khmer throne. This move upsets the radical Buddhists, and they start protests in major cities saying "Down with the Makanists", and Makanist communities are targeted in riots similar to Jewish pogroms in Europe. On a better note however, trading with Malaya has allowed us to get materials from the lands of Europe, and improved our wealth greatly. Ports like Kampot and Kompong Som are thriving on a scale never before seen since the days of the Khmer Empire. Most of the major highways of non-mountainous areas and major city streets are now paved, and we are now working to pave more roads in the mountains, as well as back lanes. The irrigation scheme is progressing very good, and is set to meet its completing target of 1725. The new capital of Reachathan is officially finished, and the Royal Family officially moves to the new Royal Palace there. Businesses and people are also encouraged to move there from the "old capital" of Oudong, and by the end of the year, 11,000 people have moved to the new capital.
  • Lan Xang: The God King focuses on infrastructure and irrigation, similar to that of Cambodia, but suited to work with the Laotian mountainous terrain. Blast furnaces are produced, which were purchased from Korea-China, as well as advanced firearms. The God King begins a road project, to provide transportation to the Kingdom. Meanwhile, he continues to spread Makanism across Southeast Asia, to Cambodia, Champa, Siam, Malaya, Burma, and even tries to get a boat of followers further into the European Indonesian protectorates as well as Tondo. Vientiane is redesigned with a Chinese layout and Bengali architecture, as well as a number of other cities. Peace between different religions are promoted. The God King is grateful for the offer of Cambodian marriage, and accepts it.
We move inland in our colonies, in order to expand our land mass, also moving in the direction of the great river towards the inland. The military is being reformed and a refurbishing of forts, particularely at the Karelian chokepoint, the Prussian-Scandinavian border and on the Sudreyar. Maria Gyldenløve is proposed as the wife of the Polish heir and sent to the Polish court.
  • Karnad: Large amounts of money are put to work in improving and extending infrastructure and the economy. The king decides that the setting up of a proper administrative service is now necessary. A committee is set up by the king to study historical Indian texts and draft a document for the setting up of the new administrative services. The committee submits the document by the year end and the new administrative system is created. The officers are recruited through a written exam. There are 30 different posts in ffive services, totaling 800 officers, three ministries are also created. The courtiers are now elected by the King, himself from the officers. The government provides grants for the setting up of banks, manufactories, furnaces and foundries. With the new system in place, the King sets about granting land rights to all the landowners. The government funds projects for the clearing up of large forest areas and resettles landless farmers in these areas. A committee of officers and the king divides the country into 2000 counties. Another committee is set up to create maps of the country with its divisions. Feeling that the Zamindari system of rent collection is unsuitable, the king appoints an official for the collection of rents and taxes, on his behalf, in each of the counties. This official is seen as the most powerful person in a county and is a member of one of the Zamindar (Landowner) families of the county. In the new counties created by the clearing of forests (where no Zamindar families exist), the official appointed is recruited using a nationwide exam is held for the members of Za
  • Malaya: We begin persecution of disruptive Buddhist radicals, most of them being those that oppose Makanism. As we did not receive anything from the Conference of Beyrut, reserved Arab residences in Sabah go for public sale. We have reached the northernmost point of Borneo, and settlements are constructed there. The town of Kudat is proclaimed, and construction begins on ports. Trade with Tondo is expected soon. The Queen marries a wealthy merchant from Johor, and the heir of the Kingdom is to be born next year. As Aceh and Sumatra become protectorates of Burgundy, we begin trading with them extensively, as well as building better relations. Expansion into Borneo begins once more, with farmland now dominating most of the territory. Areas with less fertile soil begin the transition into population centers. A university is constructed in Kuala Lumpur, and offers education in medicine, art, sciences, law and economics after a group of intellectuals decide to share their knowledge. This will enlighten the next generation and more to come, with the Queen personally supporting it. A doctor practicing Chinese medicine theorises that a system of "wellness" exists throughout the body, allowing acupuncture to work by stimulating the correct pathways.
  • Electorate of Saxony: After 4 years of rebuilding their forces the Army of Saxony to find the troops that they had left behind had built a small village and had found wives and built a thriving village outside of the castle. The now 50,000 strong professional army had returned and the Meissen Forces were offered generous terms of surrender which were: Each man will be given a horse, 50 gold coins, food for two weeks, and safe passage out of the castle as long as they dropped their weapons and swore to never do battle against the forces of Saxony again. (Mod Response Needed) Meanwhile, 10,000 of Saxony’s best troops embark on a ship headed for Rome where they will stop to request the Papacy give them permission to launch a crusade to rescue the pope. (Papal States Response Needed)
    • The army of Meissen surrenders. ~Wolvesmod
    • Papal Dip: Monsignor Paulo (current administrator of the States and the nephew of the Pope), welcomes the Saxon troops, and puts them towards his plan to violently recapture the Pope.
  • Russia: The RTK begins to launch trading operations in north and East Asia. The company under direct influence of the Tsar offers to buy 50 year leases on the Japanese ports of Hokadate and Muroran with annual payment (Mod Response). With the payment for Pontus under way, the Russian army moves into its newfound vassal. The Tsardom directly for stretegic purposes annexes Crimea with naval ships docking in Stevastapol. The Governor of Siberia creates what he calls the ""Line of Neptune", an arbitrary squigly line in a map that shows the point where Russian naval ships can not go to without provoking some kind of response from China.
    • Pontus: The country now under Russian control is renamed to the Kingdom of Georgia. The country soon has Russian ships docking in its ports and Russian troops posted on the border with the Kurdish and Armenian emirates.
    • Japan Dip: We Refuse.
  • Tsardom of Belka: The untimely death of Tsar Constantine of Pneumonia while in Zagreb with his Son Petar touring leads to Johann Dracultesti a German-Belkan marriage hybrid to claim the throne over the rightful heir Petar. Petar is shocked by this revalation and sends riders bearing a message to the entire empire refusing to take this sitting down. Elements of the army supportive of their rightful Tsar turn and seize very important parts of the empire including the Royal Treasury in Vasiligrad, the ancient capital of Tarnovo, as well as the Provincial capitals in Belgrad, Athens, and Ragusa effectively managed to secure much of the empire in one fell swoop. The claimant Johann suceeds in seizing Wallachia, Moldavia, most of Transylvania as well as some other parts of Bulgaria proper. Johann himself manages to raise almost 40,000 of his own professional troops in an attempt to make a quick bid for the capital. However, with nearly 45,000 troops still loyal to Tsar Petar, he is forced to rely on the highly unprofessional and untrained musketeers who are wholly unable of challenging the core of Tsar Petars veteran army. Tsar Petar is saddened, however, as in the taking of Belgrad, those loyal to Johann engage in a massive struggle for the city which turns into a pitched battle between the two sides. The ancient city suffers a massive blow as the result of the battle turns much of Belgrad into smoldering ruins pushing tens of thousands into refugee camps outside whats left of the city. Surprisingly the fortifications of Belgrad remain in tact and the Tsar allows 20,000 standard troops garrison the city intending to use his professional troops elsewhere. The Economic shock of this is apparent as the country being divided once again over the throne has led to huge interruptions in trade and travel. The Navy while remaining loyal suffers a massive blow as the Usurper captured nearly 100 ships at port relocating them to his most major port of Kaloyagrad on the black sea coast. Tsar Petar seeing the utmost necessity digs into the Treasury and begins training troops in earnest hoping to raise an army that he considers "the envy of europe" to crush the Usurper. However in this, the Tsar allows his General Markos Kamarov a close personal friend and a strategic genius for his age in his own right at age 19 meets the Usurper Johanns forces in the field outside of their camp near Sofiya one of the only major Bulgarian cities they control. The two armies clash in the battle of Kostinbrod, a small town near the city of Sofiya. The clash of what can be considered two of Europes most modern and disciplined armies turns into a bloodbath as half of either sides forces are put down and they both retreat bloodied and battered. General Kamarov, however, wings his forces around in such a way as he can retreat towards his manpower pool near the core cities of Tarnovo and Vasiligrad. Johann does much the same as his forces reinforce at Sofiya. Regardless of the ongoing Succession crisis, Tsar Petar assumed control of Rhodes and the other islands purchased from the Caliphate.
    • Scandinavian Dip: We send military advisors to learn from the great warfare technology of the Belkans.
Having now purchased the Sultunate of Gujarat and the Emirate of Sindh from Rashidun we obviously allow these protectorates a great deal of autonomy not even taxing them but we will obviously defend them if we are attacked and all we really do is pass a navigation act stating they cannot trade with any other European power other than England. We also start trading things like guns to them which is good for them in exchange for goods they have. With the famine in Ireland and resulting migration we don't do anything about the Irish famine since the problem comes and goes but all Irishmen relocating to England are given a loan by the government worth a year's labourer wages which they can repay over 12 years to allow them to fit into the country. Construction of the strategic fortress in Cork, Ireland should take three years years. Work keeps moving in Edinburgh. England has 5.8 million people, Wales has 0.6 million Ireland has 1.5 million people and Scotland 1.1 million people.
The southern side of OTL Lake Ontario continues to receive directed migration to the area with the two landing points continuing to receive more farmers branching out around the area. Expansion of 25 px in both of these areas. These Neigh of Kosts are raced in New Essex.
  • Kingdoms of Burgundy, Prussia, and Bohemia: Nova Belgica continues consolidating control of its lands north of otl Wilder, Vermont. New Netherlands expands 50px west from Ottenmeer (otl lake Champlain). Wilhelmien (otl Uruguay) expands north along the coast 50px. With the acquisition of Aceh and Sumatra, the Burgundian East India Company gathers the local rulers and leaders and informs them the EIC has no interest in influencing domestic customs. Taxes are lowered, and are slated to be kept low for the foreseeable future. To ease domestic bureaucracy, the EIC supports the establishment of a House of Peers for both Aceh and Sumatra, made up of the states' nobilities and headed by their respective sultans. Present in each is an EIC representative, though by Company rules he is barred from speaking up unless the discussed subject concerns trade, economy, military, or foreign affairs. The Nicobar Islands, now renamed the Ramaaker Eilands (what it was named during the previous Burgundian rule there), is integrated into Burgundian Singapore, to be governed directly by the Company. In the south Atlantic, a WIC captain reports the location of a group of islands his ship took shelter in during a storm. Called the Fortuin Eilands (otl Falkland Islands), a fort named Sint Karel is established at otl San Carlos, East Falkland, in the hopes the islands could become a safe harbor for Burgundian ships sailing to the Pacific.
  • Sultanate of Zayiyr: The wedding is held between Aseel and Werababa, bringing in a crowd of 10,000 higher ranking class members. Islamic culture and readings from the holy Quran are used to express the true Islamic nature of the nation, as well small portions of Kuzirism being used to satisfy some of the traditional, wealthier class members. After the wedding, we allow the couple to reside inside the Sultan's palace. Sultan Jalaal pursues the idea of creating the Al-Afriqia State further with the Kingdom of Kiovo.
  • In the Great Union of Korea and China, the Yunnan revolt is finally pacified, with the entirety of the province being placed under a provisional administration under Geneural Fu Zhouze. Many Hui are killed or lynched by vigilante groups (somewhat sponsored by the government), and those who are alive flee across the border to Bengal. Meanwhile, former Emperor Kim Seothae dies and is buried in Gaeseong, taking the posthumous name Tokjeong. A council of court officials eventually determine Prince Kim Seokdu (of the Manchu Orho cadet branch) as his rightful heir, with his wife Rhee Taeyeon being the Empress consort. Under Kim Seokdu, the complex eight-rank imperial concubine system is revived.
  • Papal States: The Mercedarians close in on the Pope, and send a coded message to Monsignor Paulo back in Rome. Knowing they are getting ever closer, Paulo decides to enact Operation Habemus papam: a crack team of the Papal Guard, along with the Saxon volunteers, will engage in a daring raid to extract His Holiness and any other Christian captives he is with. The Guardsmen and the Saxons take oaths that they will lay down their lives if it would mean bringing back the Pope alive. Portuguese-speaking missionaries of the Immaculata order are sent to Mzerka to help Christianise and Europeanise the kingdom. Missions continue in Korea-China, Japan, the New World, and Southern Africa.
    • Saxon Forces: All 10,000 men are elite knights of the Saxon Order Militant; who are an elite order of warriors loyal onmy to the Elector of Saxony and would fall on their sword if his holiness commanded it. They are beast of men who are so strong and skill with sword and musket that they are worth ten pirates for each Order Militant Knight. They swear that they will bring the pope home and if they do not they will die trying to the last man and they end swearing this oath by reciting their oath from when join the Order Militant ... Thus the voices of 10,000 men echoed across Rome as one reciting these words: “Darkness gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that heralds the morning, the shield that guards the realms of Christianity. I pledge my life and honor to the Order Militant, for this day and all the days to come."
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue convincing contracted servants. Areas interior to Mombasa and Malindi is colonized.
