The Senate appointed an Hispanian Senator (who had always been loyal), Tertius Larcius at 60.
The empire’s infrastructure was badly damaged and the Emperor and Senate initialized ‘Zeno Emineo’ (Project Zeno) it restructured how the empire’s cities, roads, mines, and all that were maintained. Zeno Emineo had a guild organized around the Vapasianvs National School (and its extensions) ciriculum, but based on the more practical applications such as cartography, architectural, civil engineering, etc. It was an undertaking much like Emperor Zeno’s, it would even put the empire in dept for a couple years to a couple barbarian nations for providing manpower and some resources, the Kievan Rus assisted the most and slowed its decline with its participation.
In 1653(900), in an Italia ADA a vapocvrr engine, capable of higher pressure but lower condensation(which caused seize-ups and such) was invented. Vaposcvrr could now reach speeds of 86 milliarii an hour (128 km/h), also, now multiple steam distribution tubes were designed for the boilers to dispense the pressure better- overall, trains became more cheap, which was very good for the Empire’s recovering economy. Also this year, due to the increasing confusion with regards to the dual prononciation of the letter ‘V’, the Senate alloed a new letter, called the ‘U’ to take the position of the softer V sound. With vaposcurr being used so often now, overall pollution is on the rise and people note how the smoky fog of industries and vaposcurr tend to hang over cities and make it a lot hotter in the summer.
In 1662(909) Tertius Larcius stepped down as Caesar and was replaced by Sophos Leo Sapientis, at 43 from Italia.
Sapientis’ first act as Caesar was to convince the Senate to add the Inopis Solacium Actio to the Zeno Emineo, a legislation that was meant to lessen the amount of people dependant on the Titus Welfare System by separating those who had no place and nothing from those who had nothing but relatives and associates better off than they. Basically it financially connected a person to their home city. Should that person become poor and homeless, the home town would support that person (from a specialized city account) until they recovered. The requirements for being issued this support however, included any or all of the following, depending on the situation:
- Being born in the city or married to a citizen in the city
- Have lived in the city continually for the 2 years preceeding the enactment of the legislation
- Have worked within the city for 1 year
- Hold a government office(which had its own separate requirments)
- Rented property within the city
- Have an apprenticeship in the city
This legislation placed more pressure on city funds and renovated the welfare system, but did little for those living in rural areas.
Also this year, the first helical gears are invented for uses in vaposcurr and extrudotrusi, they operate much quieter than regular gears.
In 1674(921) Leo Sapientis was succeeded by Servius Friuli Berdanius of Italia at 71. Servius soon died in 1677(924). Then Constantinus Silius Arpagius, Thracia's Senator was appointed. The Zeno Emineo was completed in 1678(925), ending with a reformation of the Imperial currency to the
Augusti: 1 Augusti= 10 Caesari
1 Caesari= 40 Constanni
1 Carici = 200 Connstanni
and the installment of aqua opi (water plugs(fire hydrants)) throughout every city.
Zeno’s legacy was also embellished and he was deified by the Senate, though really it means little to anyone beyond a respectful gesture. Also, traders from the Tang Empire arrive sporadically, bringing news that the Sinican Empire had indeed survived. The traders bring knowledge of the Sinican invention of porceline, or china. It’s very popular for those still rich. Also, the Sinican invention of woodblock printing reaches Rome and is later put into practice, making all forms of mass writing easier.
So with this revalued currency, Rome was able to pay off the rest of its debts by 1693(940). It was now 4 years into Alius Dossenius Huelastus’ rein (from Italia).
Also this year, Romulus Banora Asinius of an Aegyptus ADA first theorized the existence of a temperature where there is no energy in the particles measured. he called it the Primum Frigidum.
