I don't have -4 war exhust btw. I haven't been at war for a while since the Morocco thing never happened. Even then Morocco isn't a major war so it would only be -1. Disputing that for the Continution War.

Not sure of the percentage here, but im pretty positive i won and then some and can do whatever i wwant. Most certainly would like a mod not involved in the current goings on in europe (no rex editing this algo). Also since ive gotten this all up before any major response or organized defense i probably do a smashing victory

Even then i still need blunder done. The Wings of Freedom #FP Wings of freedom 2 (Talk to Me)

Castile withdraws from the war, leaving the crown of Aragon to fight for itself. Since I never officially declared war I am well within my rights to do this. #BRINGBACK THESQUIRREL

It should go with out saying that France should suffer a mountain attrition penalty (and accompanying reduction in forces) due to the geographic nature of the Franco-Iberian border. I am that guy (talk) 19:02, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

  • There is no argument here, the border of Navarre goes straight up to the Ebro river which is part of the Ebro river valley which is obviously not elevated. Also as you said in the Italo-Austrian War, where you suffered no attrition, "Then, on the matter of attrition, you're correct I forgot about the Slovenian mountains. What you are forgetting is there are undoubtedly known routes through the mountains. This isn't the time on Hannibal, this area has been well established and well traveled for almost 1400 years." Wouldn't there be known routes through the Pyrenees as well? There has been no precedent of suffering attrition in friendly territory. Therefore, if I go through my friendly mountains and up the Ebro river valley on the Navarrese border, no attrition is suffered. Flippedlion NicDonalds Lionsymbol 19:21, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

  • And if you are using this screenshot as evidence, you gave him no context, I never crossed the Pyrenees in hostile territory based on my previous argument.  Flippedlion NicDonalds Lionsymbol 19:44, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

Nic, the Pyrenees stretch from coast to coast along the border, you can't get from one side to the other without crossing them. If edge was invading you, I'd argue this point in your favor. I am that guy (talk) 20:14, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

  • Except there has been no precedent of suffering attrition in friendly territory. I did indeed cross the Pyrenees, I am not denying that, but I only crossed through mountains in friendly territory. There have been many algos before this one, and no one suffered attrition if you are going through lands you own. This is not a special case. For example, if the rule that you are insinuating is true (one which you can suffer attrition in your own territory), than it needs to be applied to most of the Iberian armies as to get from Madrid to Zaragoza you need to pass through the mountains surrounding Meseta Central. You are trying to set a precedent/rule that does not exist.  Flippedlion NicDonalds Lionsymbol 20:24, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

Castile cannot simply "withdraw" from a war that was declared upon it. My turn, which started this whole war, was quite explicit: twice my King "declares war upon Iberia." Iberia means nothing less than the full union of Castile and Aragon, of which, according to a canonical post by Aragon, "Integration of the Aragonese and Castilian militaries are now complete" (1460). Furthermore, Italy invaded Castillian Liguria, so Castile is very much involved in this war.

So, the only way for Castile to end this war is by concluding a peace as Iberia (with Aragon) or breaking the union with Aragon and concluding a separate peace (effectively splitting this algo into 2 smaller algorithms). Would someone please explain to me how 175,000 Indian troops marched a thousand miles across mountains and through jungles to fight in Malaya? I am that guy (talk) 15:25, September 19, 2016 (UTC)

@ Fallacy: The mods earlier agreed that Mogadishu can't operate in the Bay of Bengal at this point in the game and since the Majapahit never attacked Sri Lanka, your fleet saw no action. Thanks anyway, though. @ IATG: They only have to go half the distance. Most of Burma is under Bengali/Bahmanid vassalage/control.The Guardian of Forever (talk) 22:13, September 19, 2016 (UTC)

& entirely through friendly territory. The Guardian of Forever (talk) 22:14, September 19, 2016 (UTC)

More on time: (this is copy-pasted from me on chat, but I'm not sure Nate and Ace got to read it) The distance from Bahmanid Burma to Malaya is approximately the same distance from northern France to S. Spain, and nobody would have a problem with that, and it's all friendly territory. In fact, that's actually less than the distance from one end of Bahmanid territory to the other. And for that matter, the mods allowed Viva to go to the E. coast of Africa in 1 year. (I know the war was retconned, but that was because Viva though Mogadishu was attacking one of his allies, and they weren't-nothing to do w/distance.) And for that matter, I used an extremely low-ball estimate for the Khmer forces at their capitol. The Guardian of Forever (talk) 22:41, September 19, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry for doing the pre-war w/o you Ace, but we've been waiting for over a day now. The Guardian of Forever (talk) 01:16, September 20, 2016 (UTC)

Only three nations may fight against Ace. Remove any excess nation, Majapahit are not counted as aggressive nation against which a coalition may be formed. SkyGreen24 09:00, September 20, 2016 (UTC)

@Sky: The Khmer and Muslim states are not allies. In fact, they have no diplomatic relations at all at this point. (For that matter, they're listed under the enemies section on my nation page). Khmer turned against the Majapahit because Fires thought that Majapahit would lose the war and that Ace would kill him anyway if he tried to stay neutral. The Guardian of Forever (talk) 11:26, September 20, 2016 (UTC)

And I agree the Majapahit may not be an aggressive nation, but they are spreading an aggressive religion obviously designed to overthrow every state it encounters. In the Hessian Crusade, (against a religious force seen the same way by Christians) a whole lot more than three nations participated. The Guardian of Forever (talk) 11:43, September 20, 2016 (UTC)

I examined the algo, and I have to ask the question. How did the Bahmanids and Dehlavi get their troops past the mountains of Burma? If they crossed into Khmer, they crossed over mountains. If they didn't, they have to go by sea, meaning they'd have to fight the navy of the Majapahits, and neither nation have the ships to fight the Majapahits at sea. I believe these are questions that need to be answered. Flag of the Xanian Empire Flag of Xyon Vivaporius: "I don't need a slogan" 01:50, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

Agreed, Viva, hence I am doing a placeholder algorithm. Through Stars We Rise. (Welcome to the Universe). 02:27, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

@ Viva, Ace, and all others concerned: On the 'mountain issue.' Let's get some things straight. The northern Burmese mountains (i.e. the Himalayan ones) are of no concern. S. Burma is a Bahmanid vassal. The mountains in question here are the Karen Hills, Dawna Range, and Tenasserim Hills. (All of which are lower than the Alps, for reference.) Now, from 1547 to 1855, nineteen wars were fought between Burma (Under the Tuangoo and Konbaung) and Siam (Under Ayuttaya, Thonburi, and Rattanakosin) all of which required troops crossing these ranges. These crossings, (due to local guides, which both the Bahmanids and Khmer have), went on without significant casualties. Maps here (for the 1759-60 war), here for 1594-1600, and here for 1765-7. During the 1594-1605 war, estimates for the force that Thailand marched across the mountains range from 145,000 to 250,000-in other words a range which the Indian armies are within. (And before someone says, 'that didn't happen in the 1400's,' I'd like to point out two things: 1. Even during the last Burmese-Siam War in 1855, (which I did not use as evidence in any way), the methods for moving an army over mountains-pack animals, feet, and sweat-were exactly the same. 2. The later dates for these wars actually contribute to my argument-these later armies had more and heavier equipment to carry (and some even brought war elephants over) than the armies of the 1400's.) QED. The Guardian of Forever (talk) 22:40, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

I propose that I take control of the situation @everyone. This gang-rape style wars should be stopped entirely. But as the algo still counts for this one, I will personally make sure no boundaries are overstepped in this one, Scraw, please let me do this one. Still need blunder. As I said, I had anyone not willing to swear loyalty to Burgundy sent to Portugal. Considering the Azores had only recently been discovered, I believe 500 remaining is a generous amount. Also, props to Iberia for cracking an egg with a sledgehammer. I am that guy (talk) 19:52, September 23, 2016 (UTC)

Y'all know that you can't really put that many troops there, right. That will result in a lot of attrition. And no, EVERYONE was a Portugal loyalist. EVERYONE. So no, you couldn't have deported them at all. Sorry IATG.

P.S.: How did the Burgundians even hear of this rebellion anyway. AM, the King of the Banat (talk) 08:41, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

The rebellion will be mod evented. Thank you very much. Complaints in my talk. AM, the King of the Banat (talk) 22:35, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

Wolves, I restricted my troop numbers because of the distance. Castile and Aragon can send more because they're much closer than myself. Also, the islands had only recently begun to be settled by Portugal, so the population wasn't high to begin with, and even fewer of them would stay to mount a resistance on islands they only recently claimed. 500 remaining people is actually probably too high for the situation, and only a fraction of them would be fighters. How did Burgundy hear of it? Uh, it's their territory, it'd be inplausible for them to not hear of it. Finally, are you really saying I'm not allowed to fight this rebellion?!? I am that guy (talk) 22:50, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

You do not realize that you shoving off Portuguese loyalists means EVREYONE must go, right? Virtually no one likes you. Beides that, the distance is far enough for you not hearing about it until NEXT (this) turn. The numbers are too high. You'd just say NO ONE REMAINS. No one would remain if you enforced that policy. I repeat NO ONE! This rebellion has too high numbers. They are so high they are virtually ridiculous. The entire troops are higher than the OTL 2016 population of the islands. I placed it under mod events because you getting the islands isn't the most plausible thing anyway. AM, the King of the Banat (talk) 22:56, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

First, you do realize Portugal itself is sending stuff to squash this, right? Second, there's no indication of when this rebellion started, so logically, I can assume it took place early enough in the year for a ship to leave, go to Burgundy, gather a couple thousand troops, then go and kick some arse. Third, I specifically gave people that don't "like" me the option of returning to Portugal (I say "returning" because they've been settled for such a short period of time that no ones grown up there, so no one has any real attachment to the islands). Those that stayed had to take an oath of loyalty to Burgundy. Since honor was a bigger thing back in these days, those that wouldn't be willing to swear loyalty would be among those to leave. That being said, again, only a fraction would be actually fighting. Fourth, the 2016 population of the Azores is 250,000, so don't exaggerate and say the army Castile is sending makes it more populated than modern OTL, because it makes you look stupid, which isn't good for a mod. Fifth, giving a player nation a rebellion, then explicitly forbidding him from attempting to put that rebellion down, is unheard of as far as I know. At least wait a week after your election before giving some unprecedented proclamation like that. I am that guy (talk) 23:10, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

I knew this would happen.... DAMMIT OCT. Alright, fine. I am removing the locking, crush this. The attrition remains though because of the sheer numbers. I am pissed at Oct for lying to me and trying to manipulate me. Sorry for everything, I am just trying to please everyone as good as I can. I will only say that HONOR is not that MUCH of a deal. You assume too much of this 'they'd swear an oath'. Again, they hate anyone opposed to Portugal. So no, the island is not going to be entirely depopulated. As such, you have crushed this rebellion without algo, but attrition would happen anyway. I give you a choice: Either depopulate the islands entirely or have this rebellion ended. This is my deal.
