The 104M Krév was developed around May 1939 and was finished later that month. Around the twenty-fifth of May, the tank's prototype was tested against several other Hungarian vehicles. The test results were positives, and the tank entered mass production.
The tank had been fielded among several Hungarian military regiments, armed for war. Many of these tanks were used in the Italian invasion of Yugoslavia.
